Prongs the Chess Pixie
'Prongs! Come back here; where are you going?' hissed Sirius.
'Shut up Padfoot! You know that chess set Flitwick has, he boasted about it in class today; I want to see if his chess men are really different miniature magical creatures.' James continued walking softly towards the teachers quarters.
'Imagine what fun we could have with those magical creatures.' James's mind whirled with the possibilities of using the creatures to disrupt class and he laughed silently as he walked swiftly to Flitwick's quarters, with Sirius following closely behind. Sirius's eyes gleamed with anticipation in the dark as he heard James. 'Ok! Come on, but if we are caught this will be our eighth detention in a seven day week.'
James snickered and the two boys walked to the staff quarters and slowly opened the door. To their surprise the door opened at once. They drew back suspicious, but there was only silence. They walked into a huge common room. On the sides were doors, leading to the staff quarters. The boys did not look at the doors, except to check they were not open; their attention was on the chess set in a corner. The chessmen were small sized magical creatures.
James and Sirius walked near the board and bent down. James slowly lifted a pawn. It was a small pixie with bright green hair and silver body, and a pink frilly frock on her. The next second the pixie had vanished and a tiny green and silver James stood there complete with a pink frilly frock stood with a purple flower and a spear in his hands.
'Help me Padfoot!' James squeaked and before a shocked Sirius could answer, the lights blazed in the previously darkened room. Flitwick was standing there looking very amused.
'Professor!' squealed James, waving his flower. He laughed. 'You will return here every night as a pixie for the next fortnight and you, Black, will have detention with Filch for two weeks.'
James squealed in dismay as the Professor bid goodnight to both of them .
