mangabreadroll's corner: Finally, a new interest - Rise of the Guardians. SQUEE! XDD I got hooked on this lately, 'cause the animation and characters (specifically Jack Frost =w=) are AMAZING. After weeks of reviewing webpages related to this one 'piece of art' I had this idea buzzing in my head - another prequel, yes, that's what I'm good at lately - so I wrote it down. I had a good time writing this, though the 'old English' may be a tad inaccurate. Here you go then.

P.S. SPOILERS.

The Coldest of Nights

Snow falls
A cold breeze blows through the evening sky
The stars are so bright
You can't miss them

Beneath a sheet of frost
The lake is still
Nothing but ice
An endless mirror, a foggy looking glass, flanked by ominous trees

Somewhere, a little girl kneels
One hand folded, the other outstretched
In prayer, trying to break it
The glass? The silence? Or her sorrow?
Doth thou knowest where he hath gone?

The last light of day fades, hesitating to leave
The children alone in the dark
Tears that will never turn back time
Hopefulness, and love
Doth thou knowest what he hath done?

Deep down in the water
A young boy lies, fast asleep
A selfless act, a life long claimed
Was this the price he had to pay?
Body and soul frozen, he slumbers deep
As the memories slip away
More tears try to penetrate the prison
To reach those eyes, the face she misses
Doth thou knowest why he hath gone?

Somewhere, a girl weeps for her brother
Her hand is taken - it's okay
Her gaze does not wander from the surface
A lullaby for her poor sibling
Let him dream.

The light of day is gone
It will come again tomorrow.

Doth thou knowest what he will become?

Afterword: Cue 'Goodbye' by Avril Lavigne. It works.
