AN: I'm not dead to the world, just to let you know. I'm just not completely satisfied where my mind is taking this story. Also the Beta I had has been quite busy and I'm not sure if they will continue Beta-ing for me or if it's better to ask for someone else to Beta. I really am in need of new idea's for this story, so if any of you have any suggestions feel free to put it in a review or PM me.
Anyway on with the chapter, enjoy.
Chapter 24
Kakashi wasn't feeling that well. He could feel that that bite hadn't been a normal bite. Well, that wolf hadn't been a normal wolf either. He could guess that that bite was cursed, as he felt his white chakra becoming active without his intention.
It only did that to protect himself. He was glad it did. He wasn't quite sure what effects that curse could have on him and he hadn't really control on the white chakra yet. Though because of his lack of control it was making him quite sick. It wasn't as badly as purifying the Sharingan, but it had increased his body's temperature.
He wasn't quite sure how long he had been in this condition, but when he did finally wake up he was notified it had been two weeks and that he was put in isolation for village security.
"Don't get me wrong. This is as well for your own good as for the village. As long as we don't know how this curse is affecting you we keep you in observation." Tsunade explained.
"Also meaning minimal visitors." Kakashi concluded.
That also meant not seeing his son.
"For at least till the next full moon." Tsunade nodded.
Kakashi looked down at that.
"Your son is fine. For the time being he's being trained by various Jounin." Tsunade sighed.
"That's good to know." Kakashi replied.
"For this once I don't blame your actions, but can't you be a little bit more careful and don't end up in the hospital every time?" Tsunade said exasperated.
"It's not as if I want to be in the hospital." Kakashi whined back in defense.
"Well, it doesn't really matter right now." Tsunade sighed again. "If you don't mind I want Inoichi check your mind. According to him the bite that wolf gave to you contains a curse. The wolf is a sentient being, manifesting in ones mind after the curse takes a hold of a person. Once every full moon that wolf then takes over that person's body, transforming it in the body of a wolf."
Kakashi just simply nodded. He now understood the reasons for this tight a security measure and was glad Lady Tsunade took his son's safety in consideration. If he would turn into a blood thirsty monster he didn't want his little boy to get hurt. It was the reason he let himself get bitten in the first place.
"Ready?" Inoichi asked as they took positions.
Though he was a little bit nervous the white haired Jounin nodded anyway. He better could get this over with. The sooner he was cleared from being a danger to the village the sooner he could be with his son again.
After a minute or so the blond haired mind walker retreated again.
"And?" Tsunade asked.
"There doesn't seem to be any wolf in his mind, though I'm not quite sure it isn't hiding somewhere. There were some places I couldn't reach due to some kind of electrical field." Inoichi stated.
"White lightning?" Kakashi inquired.
Inoichi nodded. "Yes."
"Can't you do something about that?" Tsunade asked, turning towards Kakashi.
"Sorry, I can't really control it that well." Kakashi sighed.
"Well, if that is the case then it's obvious it's still fighting something." Tsunade replied.
"I'm not leaving then, right?" Kakashi groaned.
"No, unless I'm absolutely sure you won't be a risk to anyone you'll have to stay here." the slug princess stated.
Kakashi looked defeated at her. He had hoped to be released after the evaluation, being quite sure the White Chakra would have purified whatever that curse was. He hadn't quite expected it was still fighting against this curse. He didn't feel quite that sick anymore.
Well, if he had to stay what could he do about it. Orders were orders.
"So, how will this help me again?" Hanabi asked.
"It is to improve your Byakugan. Besides it will help my summons as well." Akiyo answered.
"It's a game of hide and seek." the Hyuuga said blankly
"Yeah, so? The point is you only may use your Byakugan to find them and their task is to hide as efficiently as possible. Especially not being detected by those who can sense them." the Hatake heir replied.
"Well, if you say so." Hanabi sighed in defeat. "Go, hide then."
In response the summoned wolf pack shot off in every which direction. Hanabi started to monotonously count to 100. When she was finished she activated her Byakugan and started to look around. When she spotted a wolf she would call him out, but otherwise stayed where she was standing.
The wolves that had been called returned to the starting point. By the time it started to get dark only one wolf remained missing. Akiyo wasn't surprised that wolf was the eldest of the pack, Urufu.
Urufu, though, returned even before the end of the game. He looked quite alarmed by something.
"What's the matter? Why did you return?" the white haired boy asked his summon.
"A large gathering of nature energy in the place they're keeping you father for observation." Urufu huffed.
"What is that supposed to mean?" Shigeru asked.
"You don't mean it has something to do with that curse, do you?" Akiyo asked in concern.
"I'm not sure, though the White Chakra should have taken care of anything negatively influencing your father." Urufu answered.
Akiyo didn't question his summon any further, but made his way towards where his father was. He had to make sure he was alright.
"Oi, Akiyo. Where do you think you're going?" Setsuna yelled after him.
When the young Hatake didn't reply she ran after him. She was closely followed by the rest of the wolf pack and Akiyo's two best friends.
Akiyo soon arrived at the chamber his dad was in without much trouble, but that was because most of the ANBU were in or just outside said chamber. They tried to stop him from getting inside and for obvious reasons.
As he took a peek inside the chamber what he saw shocked him. His dad was changing. One minute he was still human, the next there was a white wolf standing in his place. All of the ANBU stood on high alert, in case the wolf would attack.
The wolf didn't though. Instead it let out a pitiful whine and laid down, putting its paws on its head as if to hide. Akiyo struggled loose from the ANBU that was holding him and ran towards the white wolf.
"Dad?" the young Hatake asked, laying a hand on top of the wolf's head.
In response the wolf whined some more. Akiyo looked on in pity. What could he do to make his father feel better? Though it was obvious the White Chakra had taken care of the sentient being that would've otherwise formed, he hadn't taken in consideration that the transformation was caused by something else.
"Can't you do anything for him?" Akiyo asked Urufu, who had walked in after he had ran towards his father.
"I can try whacking it out of him." Urufu stated.
Akiyo nodded and took some steps back. Out of curiosity Kakashi looked up and standing up on unsteady legs. He was quickly back down on the ground again though.
"What was that for?" the elder Hatake shouted holding his head, finding himself to be suddenly human again.
A quite naked human at that. Though as sudden as he had turned back in a human, so had he in a wolf.
"Well, that worked great." Urufu said sarcastically.
"He did turn back there for a moment, though. Try hitting him again." Setsuna said.
Before the elder Hatake could protect himself he was hit upon the head once more.
"Oi, stop that." Kakashi shouted.
Once again he had turned back to human, before turning wolf again. Urufu repeated the process several times, before Akiyo finally stepped in between.
"This isn't working. Can't you teach him after he isn't forced to take in nature energy?" Akiyo asked.
"Well, I suppose. There is not much to teach him when he's unconscious." Urufu responded.
Akiyo turned around to see that indeed his dad wasn't conscious anymore. The young Hatake sweat dropped.
"Why did you hit him that many times anyway? The first few times would've been sufficient enough to tell it wasn't really working." the white haired boy said.
"I got carried away there for a bit." Urufu shrugged.
It was then that Urufu himself was suddenly hit upon the head.
"What was that for, Setsuna?" Urufu whined, holding his head in pain.
"Akiyo is right. It wasn't necessary to hit him that many times, you could've seriously hurt him." the female wolf stated.
"Well, I'm sorry." the pack leader replied sulkily.
"What is going on here? I thought the Hatake's White Chakra would've taken care of this problem." came suddenly from the doorway.
Akiyo turned around to see that Tsunade had arrived, obviously having been warned about the happenings that had just taken place.
"The curse has been taken care off. His body is taking in too much nature energy for him to handle. That is what has caused him to transform." Urufu answered before Akiyo could.
"So if I get this right he basically just entered an incomplete sage mode?" Tsunade asked, frowning.
Urufu nodded in confirmation. "Correct."
"Inoichi did describe the wolf in that man said that he originally came from here and that he hadn't exactly been conscious at the place that man had come from." Tsunade commented.
"This does remind me of a case from long ago." Urufu stated.
"What do you mean?" Akiyo asked.
"There was this wolf that had turned against us. He had created this Jutsu that whenever he bit someone that person was forced to take in nature energy whenever the moon was full." Urufu answered.
"Well, that explains the transformation, but not the sentient wolf we found in that man." Tsunade said.
"I'm not quite sure either. I do not know much about that story, only what I've told you." Urufu stated.
"Isn't it harmful for my dad to take in this much nature energy?" Akiyo wanted to know.
"Not in the beginning, but if this continues it will be. When dawn breaks I'll have to whack it out of him again. If I'm correct he won't change back again then, seeing as his body will only take it in during the full moon. After that we'll have to start training your father to gain sage mode. It's the only way to take the problem away completely." Urufu stated.
Cornelius Fudge impatiently tabbed his foot on the floor as he waited for that old fool of a Dumbledore to answer his questions. It had been years since they had heard any news on the Boy-Who-Lived, who had been missing for quite some years now.
"Well?" he inquired.
"We know where he is. The problem is of getting him to cooperate with us." Dumbledore stated.
"How difficult can it be to get one little boy with you? I don't care if you have to drag him with you. You know as well as I do that the boy belongs here. It's your fault you lost him out of sight in the first place." Cornelius exclaimed loudly.
"It's not the boy I'm worried about, but the people protecting him." Dumbledore stated.
"How can a bunch of Muggles be that difficult to deal with?" Cornelius fumed.
"They're not really Muggles, but also not wizards either. I don't know what exactly the are, but they possess a power we have no knowledge of." Dumbledore said.
"Ha, you're just telling me this because you're afraid. Well, I'm not. So if you don't mind it would be in your best interest to transport our group to this dimension the boy has found himself in." Cornelius demanded.
Dumbledore sighed. This was getting him no where. Well he supposed the Minister would find out first hand what these people were able to do. He'll just have to make sure to stay out of there reach and be able to make a quick retreat.
