T4L: *Rubs his head as he gets up* What happened...?

Terriermon: Your crazy Digimon is trying to delete me!

T4L: Ultimon kneel! *Ultimon obeys and kneels*

Terriermon: Jeeze I thought that was it.

T4L: Alright guys chapter 4. This is where it starts to get good.

Terriermon: How come...?

T4L: Well if you remember I left off with the Mysterious Creature watching Takato and Guilmon sleep. This chapter is where the plot for this section begins to pick up.

Section 2: Western Quadrant's big surprise

Chapter 4: Predator of the night

Takato: Last time on The chosen Tamer: 158 hazardous days & nights. Me and Guilmon explored Native forest and recruited some Digimon to the City. Guilmon and I help the Drimogemon's out by carrying the dirt out of the tunnels, which should help with digging progress. Guilmon decided to train a bit at Green Gym and his stats were raised allot. Then we traveled to Coela point to meet Coelamon to get a lift to the other side of the river. Now we're in tropical jungle and ready to go exploring.

I wanna be the biggest dreamer

I'm running as fast as I can

Throughout the future

And throughout the past!

I have finally realized it.

I forgot to do my homework last night.

This is one hard, puzzle, puzzle, puzzle.

******Tropical Jungle******

Takato was the first to wake up as night fell on them. He sat by Guilmon who still showed no signs of waking up and observed the area.

He couldn't believe he was inside of a video game. What would the others say when he tells them... Or would this be another thing he must keep from them. He shock his head and decided to worry about that later. He looked across the river and was stunned at it's sereneness. In the video game everything had looked so blocky and carved out, but here it was actually real... Perfect... The way the trees rustled as the breeze blew through them. The wave, the fresh air. And for the first time he didn't hear the screams of Digimon being deleted. If it wasn't for the trouble on the island this place would have been a paradise.

Guilmon snored beside him and jolted Takato out of his thoughts. He looked over at him and saw that he had changed positions. He caught sight of something moving out of the corner of his eye and looked over to his left. A Tsukaimon was walking around close to them, probably in search of a battle.

'I should probably wake him up soon...' Takato thought to himself as he watched the Tsukaimon wearily but it turned away and walked off and shortly after a J-Mojyamon showed up on their other side. 'Yep time to get going...' Takato thought to himself as he prodded Guilmon awake.

"Five more minutes..." Guilmon said in a yawn as he turned to his other side.

"Guilmon we've gotta get going." Takato said as he shook him awake.

"Ahh... Okay." Guilmon said as he got to his feet and looked around. "Which way should we go?" He asked.

"Let's go this way." Takato said as he pointed over towards a mangrove.

Guilmon nodded and the two of them headed off and walked through the gateway to Mangrove Region.

******Mangrove Region******

Takato and Guilmon walked through the Mangrove Region for about an hour. They had gotten lost due to Takato relying on the area to be exactly like the game, but he had soon learned that the game was more of a condensed version of this world. They found their way to where they were going after awhile though.

"See I told you I'd get us here." Takato said to Guilmon as they sat down for a break.

"I knew you would Takato. You always do." Guilmon replied.

"Good to hear someone has a little faith in me." Takato said in response. Xion had been downing him ever since he got them lost.

'Well you were bound to pick the right way eventually.' Xion stated.

'What is with you today...? You're never like this.' Takato said to Xion in concern.

'I'm sorry I guess I'm just not used to feeling so useless.' Xion replied.

'Why do you feel useless?' Takato asked her.

'All of my functions are un-compatible with this digital world. I'm useless to you. I don't even have a map for you to use.' Xion explained.

'Don't worry about that. You're useful as a friend, and you're smart. I might need your help sometime.' Takato consoled her.

'Takato...' Xion said in a weak but happy voice. 'That's so sweet... Thank you.' She said happily.

'No problem. And about that map thing. I have an idea... Can you open an internet connection to the southern Quadrant's real world?' Takato replied.

'Yeah. Why?' Xion confirmed.

'I've got an idea.' Takato said as Xion opened the connection. Takato began typing some things into the Omnivice. Guilmon who had began to get used to Takato having discussions with Xion inside of his mind scooted himself over behind Takato and peeked over his shoulder to see what he was doing. Takato seeing him do this began to explain. "This is all just a game in the real world which means someone must have taken the time to map at all out. If I can find that map we won't get lost as much as we just did."

'That's brilliant Takato.' Xion exclaimed impressed.

"How'd you think of that?" Guilmon asked him.

"Xion reminded me of maps and then I thought to myself couldn't it be possible that someone mapped out the game. And here it is!" Takato said as he found the files he was looking for and downloaded them.

'Give me a second to scan through the map and see where we are then I can convert it into a dgps.' Xion explained to Takato.

'Alright. Tell me when it's ready. Me and Guilmon are going to start walking again.' Takato replied.

'Okay.' Xion replied.

"Guilmon you ready to get going. We've still got allot of ground to cover tonight." Takato stated as he got to his feet.

"Yep. Let's go." Guilmon replied as he got up as well and followed Takato who walked up another path.

The two stopped at the top of it and looked at a Digimon who was just sitting there in front of them. Takato approached him and he let out a growl. Takato stopped for a second as the Betamon moved a bit, like it was readying to attack him. Takato taking a deep breath walked the rest of the way to Betamon, it sniffed him vigorously and then a look came over it as though it had just remembered something.

"Something just came back to life inside of me!" It said suddenly.

"What do you mean?" Takato asked it.

"I used to live in a city called File City. You smell like that city." Betamon explained.

"Wow so you remembered the city just by smelling it." Takato replied.

"It's scary. I left the city and lost my memory. But thanks to you, I remember everything now." Betamon stated. "I'm gonna go back to the City, okay?"

"Of course. I'm sure the City could use you there." Takato replied.

"Really? Alright! I'll try my best!" Betamon said as he ran off toward the bridge.

"Shouldn't we tell him the bridge is down..." Guilmon asked as they watched him run off.

"I don't think that will be a problem for Betamon." Takato replied. "No let's get going. We still have allot to do tonight." Takato said as he and Guilmon began walking through the Mangroves again.

/Centarumon's Forest\\\

******Mangrove Region******

Takato and Guilmon found themselves walking past several J-Mojyamon as they continued to go further into the mangroves.

"Hey Takatomon what's that over there?" Guilmon said as he pointed to a sign to their left.

"I don't know. Let's go check it out." Takato said as he and Guilmon headed over to the sign.

"What's it say Takato?" Guilmon asked.

"It seems to be a warning. It says; I will shoot any trespassers: Centarumon." Takato read. "Jeeze I guess this guy doesn't like visitors..." Takato remarked.

"You said it." Guilmon replied. "Should we keep going?" He asked.

"Yeah. If he still had the intelligence to write this he might be able to help us." Takato replied and the two of them walked into the next gateway.

******Amida Forest******

As Takato and Guilmon walked into the forest an alarm went off and a voice shouted at them. "Trespasser Alert! I will shoot!"

"You think he'll really shot as us Takato?" Guilmon asked worried.

"Yeah, but we should be able to take it. You're a pretty tough Digimon Guilmon." Takato replied and they began running through the forest.

As they ran they were suddenly blasted back by and attack which hit the ground in front of them.

"Man this guy isn't messing around." Takato said as he got to his feet. "Come on Guilmon. Time to stop playing around." He said as he and Guilmon dove in and out of bushes avoiding more attacks from Centarumon.

Eventually they got to a wall with a circle and Guilmon blasted it with a Pyro Sphere. The wall crumbled apart and revealed Centarumon.

"I am Centarumon. I'm sorry for shooting at you but I had to test you to see if your capable of saving this island." Centarumon stated as he approached them.

"I see." Takato replied.

"I'd like to work with you in restoring the City. I'll go on ahead to the City you can explore the area beyond this point." Centarumon said before he ran between them and took off towards the city.

"Guilmon, I think we might be getting pretty famous around here." Takato said as he turned to Guilmon.

"What makes you say that?" Guilmon asked puzzled.

"If Centarumon wanted to test us, that means he must have heard about us somewhere." Takato explained. "Let's keep this up Guilmon!" Takato cheered as they headed through the next gateway.

******Ancient Dino Region******

As Takato and Guilmon walked through what Takato guessed was the Ancient Dino Region Xion interrupted his thoughts.

'Takato I've finished the dgps.' She informed him.

'Great let me see it.' Takato replied as he looked at the Omnivice's display.

"Takato...?" Guilmon asked as he saw that Takato had stopped walking.

"Come here Guilmon, Xion finished the dgps." Takato responded as he motioned for him to come over.

"Okay." Guilmon said as he walked over to him.

"Check this out Guilmon." Takato said as he pointed to a red dot on the screen. "This is where we are right now. The Ancient Dino Region. And from here I can find a route for us to go anywhere we want." Takato explained to a fascinated Guilmon.

"Can it find us food?" He asked curiously.

"Is that really all you think about." Takato joked.

"No. Sometimes I think about sleep." Guilmon replied in a joke. "But I am hungry." Guilmon said seriously.

"Alright here's a Digi-Mushroom." Takato said as he handed one to Guilmon. He sniffed it for a moment and then ate it in one gulp. "Jeeze Guilmon, that Digi-Mushroom didn't stand a chance." Takato commented.

"Who dares trespass in this peaceful land!" A voice shouted as the two of them began to feel small earthquakes, and as the earthquakes grew bigger they saw a Tyrannomon running towards them.

"This might not turn out so good Guilmon. Be ready for anything." Takato warned as the Tyrannomon reached them and stopped.

"Who are you and why are you here!" The Tyrannomon ordered them to tell him.

"We're only passing through. We're traveling to save the island." Takato explained.

"I don't believe you. Get lost!" Tyrannomon yelled.

"Ah... Again... I don't like being lost..." Guilmon wined.

"Hold on now. Wait a second!" Takato shouted as he saw that the Tyrannomon was getting ready for a fight.

"Red Inferno!" Tyrannomon roared as flames erupted from his mouth.

Guilmon ran around them and countered with a spit fire which didn't even phase Tyrannomon.

"This isn't good..." Takato said to himself as he watched the battle go on.

'Takato there's still a chance. If you can keep Guilmon from getting to heavily damaged you should be able to get his finisher fully charged.' Xion stated.

'Good idea Xion.' Takato replied. "Guilmon keep avoiding his attacks for now don't worry about countering them! He'll get tired out after awhile and then you can use your finisher on him!" Takato called out to Guilmon who nodded.

Tyrannomon shot another red inferno at Guilmon who avoided it by running between his legs.

"You can't escape me little rodent! Earthquake!" The Tyrannomon shouted as he stomped on the ground and sent rocks flying everywhere.

"Hang in there Guilmon!" Takato called as he docked as a rock went soring by him.

"That's enough!" Guilmon shouted as he saw the rock almost take Takato's head off. "Pyro Sphere!" He shouted as he sent a fully charged Pyro Sphere at Tyrannomon who was caught off guard by such a powerful attack.

The attack sent Tyrannomon crumbling to the ground unable to continue the battle.

"Guilmon you did it!" Takato cheered as he rushed over to him and gave him a pet on the head just as the Omnivice's display lit up. Takato looked down and saw that Guilmon and himself had gone up another level. "Guilmon we're level three now." Takato said to Guilmon who smiled a bit.

"Are you by any chance...?" The Tyrannomon groaned as he got to his feet.

"We tried to tell you." Takato replied.

"I'm sorry. We don't normally get visitors here to often, so I get excited about my new job." The Tyrannomon explained.

"Job?" Takato asked him.

"I'm guarding the Ancient Dino Region. It's an unexplored area in the Digital World." The Tyrannomon explained.

"Can you tell us more about the area?" Takato asked.

"Of course." The Tyrannomon replied. "Ancient Dino Region is divided into two sections." Tyrannomon stated. "Where we are right now is called the Glacial Time Zone. It's a special place where time goes slower." He explained.

"Time goes slower here? How so?" Takato asked.

"Well a few hours out there is only a few minutes here." Tyrannomon explained.

"Cool. What's the other section?" Takato asked.

"The other place is the Speedy Time Zone, it's dangerous and bigger than the Glacial Time Zone." Tyrannomon explained.

"Why's it dangerous?" Takato asked bemused.

"It's dangerous because time goes very fast there. The land is bare with only bones and fossils." Tyrannomon explained.

"Is that all because time goes faster there?" Takato asked curiously.

"Yeah. So don't stay there long." Tyrannomon stated. "And since my duty is to prevent anyone from going into that area, you can't go there."

"But you lost the battle. That means we can go through." Takato stated.

"I was just unlucky! It doesn't happen often." Tyrannomon roared.

"Is that right?" Takato replied.

"I have to go back now. Ask other Digimon if you have more questions." Tyrannomon said to them before turning and running off.

"What a sore loser..." Takato said as they watched him run off.

"Hey Takato. Looks like he left something behind." Guilmon said as he pointed to an orange floppy disk.

"Hey that's an Hp chip. Cool." Takato said as he went over and picked it up. "Good job finding that boy." Takato said as he packed it away in his bag.

"Ah... It was nothing." Guilmon replied.

"Come on we still have some stuff to do before dawn." Takato said as he walked through the next gateway with Guilmon.

/Speedy Times Zone\\\

******Ancient Glacial Region******

Takato and Guilmon walked through the Ancient Glacial Region for awhile admiring it's beauty as they walked. Eventually they ran into Tyrannomon again who was standing in front of a pathway.

"It's the Speedy Time Zone beyond this point. Don't get too close." He warned them.

"There are two goals for me and one is to find the island's danger." Takato stated.

"And your point is?" Tyrannomon replied.

"I've gotta take a look in the Speedy Time Zone to see if the danger is from there." Takato explained. "So please help me out."

"I can't. I must guard this forest." Tyrannomon replied.

"Then, do you know anything about the danger the island is facing?" Takato asked him.

"I don't know anything." Tyrannomon replied. "Wait a sec... I do remember a big rock fell from the sky not too long ago." He added.

"Where did it land?" Takato asked excitedly.

"In the other side of the Speedy Time Zone." Tyrannomon replied.

"Let me go! I may be able to find out something!" Takato stated.

Tyrannomon thought about it for a minute and then spoke. "Well if you insist... Go ahead and check it out." He said as he moved aside. "But remember beyond this point, time goes twice as fast, don't stay in there to long or you and your Digimon may grow to old." He warned.

"Thanks Tyrannomon. I'll make sure we don't take to long." Takato said as he and Guilmon entered the gateway to Ancient Speedy Region.

******Ancient Speedy Region******

"Wow. This place is so different from the Ancient Dino Region." Takato said as he and Guilmon came out of the pass from Ancient Dino Region.

"Yeah... I don't think I like it here." Guilmon replied.

"Me neither. Let's get this done and get out." Takato said as he and Guilmon rushed off avoiding a Saberdramon and a Gotsumon in the process.

Eventually they came to a tunnel made of a huge dinosaur fossil. The two of them rushed through it and came to a dead end.

A Saberdramon laughed at them to their right and they turned to it.

"What's so funny?" Takato asked it.

"I know the way to what you're looking for." It said as it got ready to fight.

"What?" Takato said in shock.

"Red Inferno!" Guilmon shouted as flames erupted from his mouth just like they had with Tyrannomon.

"When did he learn that...?" Takato asked himself.

'He probably learned it from watching Tyrannomon use it.' Xion explained.

'Yeah, probably.' Takato agreed.

The attack enveloped the Saberdramon into it and when it finished the Saberdramon was lying on the ground.

"Well... That was quick." Takato commented as Guilmon walked back over to him.

"I think I'm getting stronger huh Takato." Guilmon said as he reached Takato.

"You can say that again. You made quick work of Saberdramon over there. Hope he's okay." Takato replied as he walked over to the Saberdramon.

"Turn at the end of the fossil tunnel." The Saberdramon said in a weak laugh as he got up and flew off.

"Well that was one weird Digimon." Takato said as he watched it fly off. "But let's go check it out." Takato said to Guilmon who followed him back to the tunnel.

The two of them found a small crevice that they squeezed through and emerged at another dead end but there in the center of it was a huge meteor sitting on the ground.

"Looks like Saberdramon knew what he was talking about, there it is." Takato said to Guilmon as they headed over to it. "No matter how I look at it, it seems like it's a plain old meteorite to me." Takato said as he examined it. "Maybe we should crack it open to be sure..." Takato thought to himself. "But then again it does just seem to be a plain old meteorite."

"Sorry to look so plain and old." A voice said from the meteorite and the meteorite started moving and uncurled into a Digimon.

"Wow! You're a Digimon! Who are you?" Takato said in surprise at this turn of events.

"My name is Meteormon." It replied.

"Do you know anything about the islands danger?" Takato asked him.

"I know nothing!" It replied.

"You know nothing? Are you sure you're not hiding something from us?" Takato replied in suspicion.

"How rude! Alright! Why don't we battle to prove who is right!" Meteormon roared as he got ready to fight.

"Alright then! Let's do it Guilmon." Takato said as Guilmon got ready for the fight.

'Takato are you sure this is a smart idea?' Xion asked him in concern.

'Why?' Takato asked her.

'Meteormon is an ultimate level.' Xion replied.

'Oh nuts! I forgot about that!' Takato thought to himself as his eyes widened in realization.

"Megaton Punch!" Meteormon roared as he swung his fist at Guilmon who dove out of the way and counter with a red inferno. Meteormon rushed through the fire and dove at Guilmon. "Buster Dive!"

"Rock Breaker!" Guilmon shouted as he swung his arms in a double attack. The two attacks collided and exploded on impact. When the dust cleared Guilmon was still standing but badly hurt.

'This does not look good...' Takato thought to himself as he tried to think of something he could do to help. Then he remembered the small recoveries he still had stored in his bag. He rummaged through it as the two Digimon continued fighting and found them tucked away behind some Digi-Mushrooms. "Guilmon catch!" Takato shouted to him as he tossed it over to him.

Guilmon caught the recovery in his opened claws and shoved it down his mouth as he avoided another buster dive. He turned around as Meteormon was recovering and charged up his finisher. "Pyro Sphere!" He shouted as he fired the attack at Meteormon who was struck in the chest by the attack and Meteormon fell to the ground unable to continue the battle.

"I give up. You're so strong." Meteormon said as he got to his feet.

"Now whatever you know, tell us." Takato said to him relieved that the battle was over.

"I was just born, so I don't know anything." Meteormon explained to them.

"What?" Takato asked in confusion.

"The Meteorite tribe is born in the sky and then fall to the ground. Then we sleep for a long time. I was actually supposed to sleep for much longer..." Meteormon explained.

"Time goes allot faster here." Takato interjected.

"Maybe. Anyways, I'll go check out the island." Meteormon said as he curled up into a ball and rolled away.

"Well we didn't find anything out here. Time to get out of this place Guilmon." Takato said as he walked over and picked up the Hp chip Meteormon had dropped.

"Come on Takatomon. I wanna get out of here." Guilmon said as he limbed over to him.

"Here Guilmon use this." Takato said as he handed Guilmon a band-aid from his bag.

"What's it do?" Guilmon asked curiously.

"It'll get rid of your injury." Takato replied.

"Okay." Guilmon said as he used it.

The two of them walked as fast as they could back to the Ancient Dino Region, and when they got there they found that Tyrannomon was still there waiting for them.

"What was it?" He asked them as they approached.

"It was just a meteorite. It's nothing to worry about." Takato replied.

"Oh sorry. That's all I knew about possible threats." Tyrannomon replied.

"Thanks anyways Tyrannomon." Takato responded.

"Get this!" A voice roared from the forest, and earthquakes started up again as a huge Tyrannomon came over to them. "You're worthless!" It shouted at Tyrannomon.

"Master?" Tyrannomon replied.

"I can't believe you're still here!" He shouted.

"Master...? Who is this guy Tyrannomon?" Takato asked Tyrannomon who ignored him.

"But Master, who will guard the Ancient Dino Region?" Tyrannomon asked.

"This is a critical time for the island. Go to the City and help the others!" The Tyrannomon shouted at him.

"Yes sir!" Tyrannomon replied.

"Are you sure it's okay?" Takato asked the bigger Tyrannomon known as Master.

"He is still young, but please put him to work. I will stand guard here." It replied.

"Master..." Tyrannomon said taken aback but then turned to Takato. "So that's the story, so can I go to the city?" He asked.

"You are going to have to work hard." Takato replied.

"I will! Master, see you later!" Tyrannomon called to them as he ran off for the City.

"I wonder what he can do..." The other Tyrannomon said to itself as it watched him run off. Takato walked over to him and when he got close enough it turned to him. "I'm Master Tyrannomon. The King of this region. It's been a while since I guarded this place. You can pass though anytime you want." Master Tyrannomon said to him.

"Thanks for the help Master Tyrannomon. Me and Guilmon should get going now, we've still got some more stuff to do before morning." Takato replied.

"I understand. If I learn anything I shall find a way to let you all know." Master Tyrannomon said to them as they left.

/Graveyard Shift\\\

******Overdell******

Takato and Guilmon after a while of walking eventually got back to tropical forest and found themselves walking towards a huge mansion a ways a head of them.

"Looks scary..." Takato said as they looked at it from a distance.

"Yeah." Guilmon agreed. "I wonder what kind of a Digimon lives in there."

"I don't know but I think it's safe to assume they're of the virus type." Takato replied.

"How come?" Guilmon asked seeming a bit offended.

"Oh Guilmon. You're not like other virus types. You're friendly, the others are scary and menacing. Just like that mansion." Takato explained to him.

"Okay." Guilmon said in acceptance of Takato's explanation.

"Destroy intruder!" A voice shouted from a head of them.

"Huh!" Takato said as he looked over towards where the voice had come from and saw two DarkFlarizemon running towards them. "Oh shoot! Come on Guilmon!" Takato called as he and Guilmon took off and snook past the mansion's gates.

******Overdell Cemetery******

"Are we in a cemetery...?" Takato asked as he saw some gravestones lying around in places.

"Takato, what's a cemetery...?" Guilmon asked curiously.

"Nevermind Guilmon." Takato replied as they walked over towards the entrance.

As they approached a Bakemon appeared out of nowhere right in front of them.

"Bakke. Bakke?" It said to them.

"Um... Yes." Takato replied confused.

The Bakemon did a sort of backflip in mid air and continued. "Bakke. Bakke. Bakke?"

"Yes." Takato said again completely lost.

The Bakemon seemed to get irritated but continued. "Baka, bakke?"

"No." Takato replied.

The Bakemon seemed to shrink and grow a few times and then rushed off in the direction of the City.

"You know... I think it just went to go help out at the City..." Takato said to Guilmon as they watched it go.

"Really? I didn't know you could speak Bakemon Takato, all I got out of that was Bakke." Guilmon replied. "Teach me." Guilmon said in a way that reminded him of the time they were at Rika's place during D-reaper.

"Maybe later boy." Takato replied.

"Okie dokie." Guilmon said as he followed Takato up the porch steps and into the mansion.

/The Haunted Mansion\\\

******Grey Lord's Mansion******

As Takato and Guilmon entered the mansion they were struck by amazement at it's grandness.

"This place looks amazing on the inside." Takato said as he looked around the room. "It's huge." Takato said as he walked into the room a bit more. "Anybody home?" He called out but there was no answer. "Looks deserted. Ready to explore Guilmon."

"Yep." Guilmon said as his tail began wagging back and forth.

The two of them walked over to the left wing and tried to open the first door, but it was locked. So they headed over to the right wing and went down it all the way to the last door and opened it.

They came into a room that had two other doors and what looked to be a bathroom but that was about it.

Takato looked toward Guilmon. "Let's try this door over here." He said as he nodded his head to the left. They went over to it and it opened by itself.

"Ah...haha..." Takato said a bit unnerved. He sucked it up though and walked into the next room with Guilmon which turned out to be the kitchen. "Hey a fridge. Let's see if there's anything we can eat in it." Takato said as he walked over to it and tried to yank the door open. "Darn. Looks like we need a key to open this thing." Takato said as he gave up and turned to Guilmon who was growling at a wall. "Ah... Guilmon...?" Takato asked concerned along with a little creeped out.

"There are Digimon over there Takato." Guilmon said between one of his growls.

"I don't see anything." Takato said as he squinted to see what Guilmon was looking at but fell over when three Soulmons materialized in front of them.

"Told you." Guilmon said simply as he pointed at them.

"Beware intruder for you have just entered Grey Lord's mansion, which non have ever escaped with there lives." The three Soulmon's said in unison.

Takato gulped as he looked at them. "Can't we... Talk this out...?" He asked nervously.

"No..." They said as they faded from sight.

"Looks like they left for now." Takato said as he stared at where the three Soulmon's had just been.

"Takatomon look over there." Guilmon said as he pointed at a pile of plates which were beginning to levitate.

"This is not going to be good..." Takato said as he began to back away for the next door.

"Takatomon...?" Guilmon asked as he noticed Takato was further away from him than before. At that moment the plates began throwing themselves at the two of them and Takato made a full out run for the door.

"Let's get out of here!" Takato called to Guilmon who was already close behind him.

Takato wrenched open the door to the next room and Guilmon collided with him sending them both tumbling into it.

"Sorry..." Guilmon said as they laid there in a heaping mess.

"It's okay..." Takato replied feeling as though his eyes were spinning in their sockets. "Where are we anyways...?" Takato asked as they got to their feet.

It looked as though they had somehow entered the room they had been in before the kitchen except there was only one door and two computers. "Hey what do you know free items." Takato said as he started to make his way over to them but stopped when he noticed a army of silverware hovering towards them. "Time to go!" Takato said as he turned to the next door and ran for it.

"But aren't we going to get the items...?" Guilmon asked confused as Takato grabbed him by the arm and yanked him out of the way of an oncoming barrage of forks. He yanked on the door but it was stuck on something on the other side. "Come on Takatomon! Hurry!" Guilmon said in fright as the silverware got closer to them.

"I'm trying Guilmon!" Takato retorted in panic.

"They're getting closer!" Guilmon warned Takato who threw himself against the door which swung open before he got to it and ended up hurling himself into the next room.

"Come on Guilmon!" Takato shouted as he got to his feet and ran back to the door which Guilmon ran through just as Takato reached it. He slammed it shut and propped his back against it as the ends of knifes and forks came through the door in random places. 'Why can't the ghosts ever threaten your life with a spoon...?' Takato thought to himself with a sweat drop as he backed away from the door.

"You okay...?" Guilmon asked him.

"Yeah... Just peachy." Takato replied as his eye twitched. "Where are we now?" Takato asked as he examined the room. A huge table took up most of the center of the room with chairs all along it. There was a fireplace right beside of him and two doors to their left. "Looks like a dinning room..." Takato said as he finished taking in their surrounding.

"Ah... But where's all the food?" Guilmon winned.

"Guilmon... We just came out of a life and death situation, and you're thinking about food?" Takato said as he looked over at Guilmon.

"I'm sorry I just can't help it..." Guilmon replied. "Hey what's that shiny thing in the fireplace?" Guilmon asked causing Takato to look over into it.

"I don't believe it. It's a key!" Takato said as he bent over and took it out of the fire. "Well I'm not really one for exploring this place, but we've gotta make sure if there's any Digimon that might need our help first." Takato said as he walked over to the closest door and unlocked it with the key they had just found. "Coming Guilmon?" Takato asked Guilmon who was still looking miserably at the empty table. "Guilmon..."

"Coming Takato." Guilmon said as he snapped out of his trance and came bounding up to him as he walked out the door. Once on the other side they realized they were in the entrance of the mansion. "Alright let's go back to the room with the bathroom and try out that other door." Takato said as they headed over to it and entered that room. "Shh... We don't want those Soulmon's in the next room to hear us..." Takato said to Guilmon who nodded and crept into the room after Takato.

Takato unlocked the door and they entered a room with a Tsukaimon asleep to their right along with a stair case on the left. They crept up the stairs and entered a room which looked like it had once been an attic but had been turned into a lab.

"This place gets weirder and weirder..." Takato said as they walked around till they came upon two Digimon which looked like digital blocks of rock. 'Xion?' Takato asked.

'Rockmon - unknown level and type.' Xion replied.

"I see... It looks like their glitches in the programming..." Takato said aloud. "Let's keep our distance." Takato said as they crept around them.

"Hey look Takato, another computer." Guilmon said as he pointed it out. Takato went over to it and pressed the red button which opened the disk slot revealing an Auto-Pilot.

"Good job Guilmon. We might need this if things get to bad for us here." Takato said as he gave Guilmon a pat on the head. A cracking sound from underneath them disrupted them from their thoughts however. "What was that?" Takato said as he listened for the cracking noise again, and felt the floor give way beneath him.

"Takatomon!" Guilmon called as he jumped down after him.

"Ouch... You okay Guilmon." Takato asked as he got up.

"Yeah, I'm okay." Guilmon replied as he got to his feet.

"What kind of place is this?" Takato said as he looked around the room. All that was in it was a huge desk which they had nearly fallen on and a couch next to a window and there were two doors on the other side of the room. "Looks like we just entered a room we've never been to before." Takato stated to Guilmon.

The two of them walked through one of the doors and entered a room with a coffin in the center. They walked over to it and it slid into the wall revealing an elevator.

"Wow a secret passage!" Takato said as he and Guilmon got on the elevator which took them down to the Basement.

******Mansion Basement******

Coffins were lined up all along the walls of the basement, and a Digimon was lying on the ground in the center of the room.

"Hey is he okay?" Takato said as they rushed over to him. As they approached the Digimon lifted it's head up weakly to see who was there and Takato almost stopped in place. Myotismon. If Takato hadn't know that there was no way this could be the same one he would have bolted out of the room, but he knew it couldn't of been so he continued.

"Someone came to help me..." He said in a weak voice.

"Are you okay?" Takato asked him.

"Who are you...? Never mind... Please give me some food!" The Myotismon said to them.

"What do you want?" Takato asked him.

"Meat!" Myotismon replied.

"Meat? Sorry, I don't have any." Takato stated.

"Here." Myotismon said as he gave Takato a key to the fridge.

"We don't have much time Guilmon! Let's go!" Takato said as they rushed out of the room and got back down to the kitchen. "Looks like the Soulmon's left." Takato said as he peaked into the room. "You watch my back as I get the meat." Takato said to Guilmon who nodded in agreement.

They ran into the room and Takato unlocked the fridge and looked inside. "You're kidding!" Takato said in disbelief.

"What?" Guilmon asked.

"It's empty." Takato replied.

"Wha..." Guilmon said as he ran over and sniffed the fridge for any sign of food.

"Hey wait there's a memo." Takato said as he took it and read it aloud. "Return to the position where you met the dumb one." Takato read. "The dumb one... Could that mean that Bakemon we talked to earlier!" Takato said as he ran out of the room followed by Guilmon.

The two ran out of the mansion and down the porch steps and found a steak lying on the ground.

"This must be it." Takato said as he picked it up and ran back to Myotismon's location with Guilmon. "Here you go." Takato said to him as he handed the steak to him.

"Phew!" Myotismon replied as he quickly ate it and was restored to full health. "I'm saved. Thanks so much. Sorry for the trouble." Myotismon said gratefully.

"So what happened?" Takato asked him.

"I am Myotismon, master of this mansion." Myotismon stated.

"I'm Takato, a human from the real world, and this is my partner Guilmon." Takato stated.

"Hi." Guilmon said happily.

"We're here to save the island." Takato explained to him.

"Looks like we have allot to talk about. I welcome you." Myotismon replied as he led them into the dinning room which was now full of food.

"Yay! Food!" Guilmon cheered as he began chowing down on everything he could.

"Ah... Please listen up." Myotismon said to them. Takato looked over at him in attention, Guilmon however kept eating.

"I'll fill him in later..." Takato said as the two of them looked at Guilmon stuffing his face with a piece of meat.

Myotismon nodded and began his explanation. "My men don't listen anymore. I don't think they can remember my orders. Sometimes they don't even understand. My men should bring me my meals, but..."

"Yummy!" Guilmon said as he began eating something else.

"While I was working they didn't bring my meals, so I forgot to eat." Myotismon explained.

"You were too wrapped up in your work?" Takato asked him.

"I'm so embarrassed." Myotismon replied.

"I think there's trouble in the mansion. Just like on the island." Takato stated to him.

"Problem on the island? Is everyone acting like my men?" Myotismon asked horrified.

"Yes, they're all losing their memory." Takato replied.

"Do you think someone is behind this?" Myotismon asked.

"Hmm..." Takato said in response.

"What can I do?" Myotismon asked.

"We're building a City to unite the remaining Digimon who have their memories still. So me and Guilmon are traveling to find friends." Takato explained.

"What can I do? My men have only skills in fighting." Myotismon replied.

"Well we don't have anything that involves fighting besides for guard duty." Takato replied.

"That's perfect. My men could put their fighting skills to good use by protecting your cause." Myotismon exclaimed.

"So, you want to join?" Takato asked him.

"Yes, but I still have research to do here. I'll go there soon." Myotismon replied.

/Late Night Rumble\\\

******Overdell******

It was a while after that conversation that Takato and Guilmon finally left the mansion and decided to begin to head back to the City.

They were just walking out of the cemetery when they were suddenly surrounded by Digimon.

"What's going on here!" Takato said in shock as he looked at all the Digimon closing in on them.

"The boss says you must be terminated." A Digimon said as he walked out from the shadows. It was one of the Soulmon's from before.

Takato's eyes widened in realization. "Nightmare Soldiers..." He said under his breath in a mutter so only Guilmon could hear him.

Guilmon's eyes dilated as he too realized this.

"Ready to die Matsuada..." The Nightmare Soldiers said menacingly as they closed in on them.

"You'll have to go through me first to get to Takato!" Guilmon shouted at them.

"That can be arranged." One of them said as they rushed at Guilmon who caught them and tossed them aside and tackled a BlackAgumon.

"Oh boy! This isn't good!" Takato said as he watched the fight helplessly. "There's no way Guilmon can fight off all these guys at once."

"DemiDart!" A DemiDevimon shouted as it sent an attack at Takato who got out of the way just in time.

"Red Inferno!" Guilmon shouted as he blasted the DemiDevimon into data which he loaded to keep his strength up.

"Side note if we make it out of here... Data can be loaded here..." Takato said to himself as he watched on as Guilmon jumped out of the way of a Data Crusher attack from a Chrysalimon.

"Pyro Sphere!" Guilmon shouted as he sent the attack flying straight at a bunch of the Chrysalimon which deleted them. He loaded their data and turned to a Devidramon. "Red Inferno!"

"Demonic Gale!"

"No!" Takato shouted and started over for Guilmon who was about to be bombarded by a powerful attack.

'Digivolution'

"Guilmon Digivolve too!" Guilmon shouted as the light of Digivolution surrounded him. "Growlmon!" He roared as the light faded from him revealing Growlmon to them all.

"Wow he Digivolved! Did I do that!" Takato said in shock at the sudden change in events.

"Dragon Slash!" Growlmon shouted as he sliced through the remaining Digimon in the exception of Devidramon who was still in the process of his attack which began to rain down on Growlmon who looked up at Devidramon and charged up his finisher. "Pyro Blaster!" He shouted as the attack shoot full force at Devidramon and deleted him instantly.

"Growlmon you did it!" Takato shouted as he ran towards him and hugged his leg.

"No. We did it Takato. I wouldn't have been able to Digivolve without your help." Growlmon replied.

'Takato Guilmon just reached level four.' Xion said to Takato.

'Cool.' "Growlmon you just reached level four." Takato said to Growlmon.

"I really must b getting stronger now huh Takato?" Growlmon replied.

"Yeah but let's not test that right now. Let's get out of here before more of them show up." Takato said and Growlmon helped Takato onto his back, and they took off for File City.

******File City Central Area******

As Takato and Growlmon got to central they saw that some buildings had been put up while they had been gone. There was now a restaurant, a clinic, and it looked as though Betamon had set up a small shop.

The two of them walked over to him and he greeted them.

"Hey Takato. I've started a shop. I don't have to much of an inventory so make sure to recruit more Digimon to the city." He said to them.

"Sure." Takato said and followed Guilmon into the restaurant.

"Hey Takato." Tyrannomon said from behind a counter as they walked in.

"I decided to open a restaurant. Pretty cool huh. If you ever get hungry just come see me I'll make you some real food that will fill you up completely." Tyrannomon stated.

"Sure thing. I'll hold you to that." Takato said as he and Guilmon left the restaurant and headed into the clinic.

"Hey Takato. I've decided to open this clinic to insure all the Digimon remain healthy." Centarumon said as they walked in.

"That's great. Do you have any Band-aids? I used my last one on Growlmon a few hours ago." Takato replied.

"Of course. How many do you need?" Centarumon asked as he rummaged through a medical kit.

"Just two for now." Takato replied.

"Alright. That's two hundred bits." Centarumon said as he handed the band-aids to Takato who put them in his bag and took out two hundred bits and handed them to Centarumon. "Thanks you and come again." Centarumon said as they left the clinic.

"Hey is that Bakemon?" Takato asked as they walked out of the clinic.

"Huh... Where?" Growlmon asked.

"Over there." Takato said as he pointed to the left.

"Yeah I think it is." Growlmon said and they headed over to him.

"Hey Bakemon." Takato said as they approached him.

Bakemon turned to them. "Bakke. Bakke. Bakee." It said to them.

"I still have no idea what he's saying..." Takato said and watched him float away from them. "Let's go see Jijimon." Takato said as he and Growlmon headed to Jijimon's house.

******Jijimon's House******

As they entered Jijimon motioned them over and they walked over to him.

"Palmon came here, and plans to expand the meat field. Then we can have lots of meat! Also Kunemon came here, and wants to eat grass. I hope he eats the weeds. Betamon came here and said he'd like to start a shop. The city will flourish! Tyrannomon came here and said he was going to be a cook. Should be interesting. Myotismon came here and said that his men our at our disposal for guard duty around the city. That should keep the city safe. Bakemon came here and said something I didn't understand. Great... I think...?" Jijimon rattled off. "You're doing great. But the city is still far from what it used to look."

"Me and Growlmon are going to head back out in the morning and see what else we can find out." Takato replied.

"Alright. You might want to check in with Yuramon once he gets back. He may have found out some new rumors in his travels." Jijimon said as the two of them left the house.

"Alright. We'll make sure to talk with him when he gets back." Takato replied as they left the house.

******File City******

"Why don't we go check out how Palmon's doing in expanding the meat field." Takato said as they came out of Jijimon's house.

"Alright." Growlmon said as the two of them walked around Jijimon's house to the back.

"Hey Palmon." Takato said as they approached.

"Hey Takato. I expanded the meat field. Would you like some giant meat?" Palmon asked him as she showed him the giant meat.

"Yeah sure." Takato replied.

"Alright here's your daily ration of three giant meats." Palmon said as she handed them to Takato, who loaded them into his bag.

"What do you think Growlmon. These big enough for you?" Takato asked him as he showed him one before placing it in his bag.

"Hmm... Couldn't it be a bit bigger?" Growlmon asked."

"Well, guess that's a no..." Takato sighed under his breath.

"I've finally found you!" A voice shouted from behind them suddenly.

Takato and Growlmon turned around and saw a Greymon rushing towards them.

"I've searched everywhere for you and finally tracked you down to this place." Greymon said as he approached them.

"What do you want?" Takato asked him.

"I want to fight you!" Greymon exclaimed. "If I win I get this street sign!"

T4L: Well that ended up being a long chapter.

Terriermon: Yeah no kidding. You crammed allot of stuff into that one.

T4L: Yeah. Well that's just my style of playing the game. Once I leave the City I just get everything done all at once.

Terriermon: Jeeze. How fast do you play through the game like that?

T4L: For my last play through I finished the game in seven hours.

Terriermon: O.o Are you serious?

T4L: Sadly... It was the first game I ever played and the game I played more than any other.

Terriermon: Wow... So is that why you decided to put this into the story?

T4L: No. I told you I needed it for an idea I got for a later story, you'll have to wait till then to see what it is.

Terriermon: Well I guess it's about that time where we wrap this up then.
