Chapter 10: "Detained"

Shock and relief flooded her emotions as Kita remained pinned under the large infected male. He didn't seem to have any intentions of moving himself off of her either. However all that relief would be shortly lived for the female as one of those clawed hands shifted and in his own vicious playful manner grazed the tip of his talons over her skin and tugging at her loose dirtied shirt. Pondering, plotting, and trying to make a decision in that infected head of his.

Kita was beginning to ache under his mass, those muscles feeling like rocks. Heavy rocks at that. "So, if your not going to... well you know. Then could you get off please? It hurts." Her voice sounded like she had a dry throat, not that it would help bring any pity from Grahvik who kept his scowling features. "Good." His blunt grunt was a start of a long lasting growl, "Just because I'm not going to fuck yerh doesn't mean I'm not going to teach yarh a lesson for interrupting meh fight."

She should have felt more fear but honestly Kita was still too comforted by the fact she was not going to endure through what she assumed was going to be a traumatic rape. She could deal with being crushed under him if that's what it took to calm him down.

"Grahvik. I have a sighting."

Blood's calm rumble alerted his comrades. Grahvik stayed in his position with little excitement or interest to the news. "Of what exactly?" The blond brute demanded more details before deciding whether or not he should put the energy in getting off his new female cushion. Kita seemed more anxious of the idea something being sighted. Was it the enemy? She couldn't help but to remember the attack yesterday.

"Charger. Alone. Looks to be injured. A few leaps distance to the north." He paused in between the information given. Grahvik groaned as he lifted himself off of Kita. "There goes meh chance of fun. Finally decided what I was going to do with `erh." He hissed under his breathe giving Kita a quick and sharp glare. "Get the hell up." The hunter scolded Kita for taking too long to get onto her feet. Her body was sore from all the rough tossing and handling and it was about to experience more as Grahvik gripped the back of her torn shirt and leaped on top of the house. Again she felt and heard her shirt tear more, she worried at some point it would rip completely and she'd fall.

Blood looked at Kita, then towards his male comrade. "I'll carry Kita. If we're ambushed on the way to getting the others you'll be our best shot in striking the enemy down. " He tried helping Kita from any unnecessary pain or punishment while at the same time backing it up with tactical reason. Grahvik couldn't argue with those reasons either. "Fine." He hissed and let his grip go of Kita who tried fixing her shirt some so it wasn't practically falling off of her shoulders. Kita made a important reminder to herself to get new clothes next time she ever found some. If Kita was lucky maybe she could convince them to let her change their clothing too. Especially Bloods. Though he'd likely just bloody it within the next day so that idea was pointless.

While Grahvik crawled up the side of the brick chimney to observe the distant infected, Blood hopped down next to Kita and willingly offered his backside to be perched upon. He wasn't used to having something ride on his body, but it didn't bother the infected too much either. Kita didn't waste time in carefully piggy-back riding the bloodied Blood. The two hunters then made a stealthy approach to making their way towards the west side. Kita could hear a feint bark of sorts, she instantly identified the sound to come from Culver who popped up into view on a taller building in the distance. His small physique hard to spot, but the sight of Alpha and Havoc who joined him made it easier to not loose sight.

Blood & Grahvik kept still waiting for Alpha and the others to come to them which didn't take long. They were quiet, very quiet. She couldn't help but to feel nervous of how this might become something serious. That worry faded slightly at the sight of Havoc who hurried closer to the group. His shaded eyes giving a quick reproaching stare to Grahvik then moving his stare towards Kita who remained on Blood. It blocked most of his view of her, so he couldn't tell if she had been mauled or injured. It would not stop the hunter from getting closer to judge her closer while Alpha took the much more important matter in finding out what was going on. "Something turn up?" His low growls gestured towards Blood and Grahvik.

Grahvik spoke up first without hesitation. "Yeah, Blood caught a sighting of some beat-down charger. Come`in from the north, right Blood?" Most of the pack directed their attention to the hunter; much to his dislike. Blood simply gestured a confirming nod to Grahvik, disliking being the center of attention. "It was a couple bounds away from our usual sentry spot." He glanced to Havoc who was investigating Kita's condition so he took the opportunity to free himself of the luggage and rolled his shoulders in a attempt to shake off the female. Kita dropped and found herself instantly reclaimed by Havoc who circled his claws around her to reel her close into his body. Smelling her.

The strong scent of Grahvik made him erupt with a low growl. Kita rested her head on Havoc's chest lightly whispering out to him, hoping his growls wouldn't drown out her words. "He didn't do anything." She looked up to observe that handsome if not eerie golden eye. He doubted her slightly, his nose inhaling her scent. "I smell him on you." He accused, only to hear Kita's defense. "It's what he wants. I don't think he wanted me to tell you." She kept her voice down.

Alpha stood tall and made a strong snarling groan to ensure everybody of the pack had their focus on him. "Alright. We keep stealthy and surround the area where this wounded infected is, when our trespasser is relocated we come in and interrogate. Keep wary of a trap. " He explained.

Havoc turned to Alpha with a firm understanding nod then lowering his head to rub it against Kita's face and trilling softly in a soft whisper. "I'll get that smell off you later." He'd nudge Kita to climb onto him. Clinging onto a hunter felt awkward, it always felt weird piggyback riding. She did feel safe with Havoc though, she knew even if she did fall off he'd try to catch her.

Together the pack of infected began to head in the direction of the Charger and when in the general area the hunters fanned out. Each member making a effort to circle around while keeping hidden and absolutely quiet. The evidence of blood splatter making it easy to track down and spot, and with short time the plan to shut in their target became successful.

The injured Charger was not so easy to setup unnoticed as it started to anxiously looking around, It knew it was being watched but the charger could not see from where. Observing from a closer view it was clear the wounds weren't caused by gunshots, they looked to be cuts or deep gashes on the shoulder and backside around the shoulder blades. The Charger also had a head wound of some sort, his arm was covered in scratches but lacked bleeding.

Kita had enough common sense to keep quiet while clinging onto Havoc. Alpha finally came out into plain view from on top of a one-story house announcing himself with a loud snarl. His posture was strong and confidant while giving a up nod as to gesture for everybody else to come out into view. One by one each of pack surprised the distressed brute infected, it turned and frantically tried to keep a eye on everyone.

Alpha pounced down off of the house and boldly crawled towards him only to have the Charger back up and position himself into a defensive stance ready to charge and fight for his life. Alpha's growls interrogated the wounded individual, "What brings you here? And in such bad shape?" Alpha's growls were strong but had a hint of sympathizing for the intruding infected.

The Charger had no where to flee, feeling trapped without much choice he raised his overly brutish arm to protect himself if any of the hunters decided to attack. His unbalanced voice that had squeaky pitches finally answered Alpha. "Bruiser no want to be here! Forced Bruiser was!"

Despite the infected's brute size and monstrous right arm, the special zombie lacked much self confidence in his abilities, that or whatever had wounded him still had the Charger in fear. A deep cut that sliced his lip caused more bleeding when he spoke. "Bruiser no lie! Bruiser leave! No harm!" The Charger tried to convince he wasn't a threat. Alpha crawled closer, circling around the Charger slowly as he listened to the explanation. The dominate hunter growled lowly, "You were forced here? Explain."

Kita listened having a more difficult time understanding the Charger, Havoc kept her close to him. The rest of the pack kept in their stationed areas while letting Alpha decide what to do. The Charger wouldn't allow the circling hunter out of his sights. "Bruiser forced! Like how Bruiser say!"

His explaining wasn't satisfying Alpha in the slightest, time for a tactical change of plans if he was going to leak any answers from the infected male. The dominate hunter stopped circling and having his crouching become stronger, across the Charger he faced Grahvik. To his left was Culver and Blood, and to his right was Kita and Havoc. "Who forced you?" The hunter tried to hide his annoyance with little success. Grahvik was more annoyed, he'd rather just kill the intruder and get it over with still even now when his claws begged to dig into flesh he had a sense to let Alpha try to get the Charger spill information.

The Charger thankfully was easily fooled, likely just relieved not to be circled anymore. He pondered over answering that question though. No doubt if he released that info there would be lethal retaliation bu not answering the pack he invaded upon seemed ready to finish him off too. The Charger lacked much of a choice, looking over to the other pack members his memory sharpened. "He and Boss did, Told Bruiser to go and attack they did!"

For the first time he was willing to take his eyes off Alpha for more than a seconds glance and keeping them locked more on Havoc and Kita. Are those two who his boss were suggesting? His attention locked back on Alpha when he snarled out. The Charger hated how hunter's communicated like that, it always kept him on edge. Always so tricky hunters were with their kill-steals and overall selfishness. "Boss? So you belong to a group then." Alpha felt he was slowly getting somewhere. Slow progress.

Bruiser; the Charger still had his squeaky unbalanced tones attempt to pursue the hunters to keep himself alive. "Bruiser not allowed back! Forced away!" He repeated himself, becoming frustrated, Alpha was equally becoming just as annoyed. "What was the name of your Boss? What group forced you away?" His growls easily proved how irritated the dominate hunter was becoming, that vibe was feeding Grahvik's urge to attack the wounded infected. Be rid of him finally.

"Rex is Boss. He tells us what to do. Listen to Boss we do! Slip tells Boss, and Boss listens to Slip." He was returning to his former anxious behavior from the annoyed hunter growls around him becoming louder. Alpha was finally getting somewhere, he originally suspected their more recent enemy; Pall's group. This put more pressure on his own pack. Serious pressure.

"Blood, Grahvik. You spoke of Rex before, do you know more about him?" He asked keeping most of his attention on the wounded Bruiser. Grahvik scoffed out a gurgled snarl, "Rex comes more from the South West doesn't he? I don't remember `em having infected outside of our own kind though. Maybe he's become desperate? Ha!" The thought amused the blond brute.

Blood quickly disagreed. "Not unless that's what he wants us to think. Don't recall any Slip. We seen this Bruiser come from the North. Things don't add up. North is Pall's territory." The bloodied hunter shifted his attention from Grahvik to his leader and the Charger. "Too much time has passed to tell if Rex's pack is still the same size, which is about ours if it has gone unchanged. If this trespasser isn't feeding us lies, then it's obvious either he's grown in power or replaced or scrounged up any infected he could manage." Blood softly suggested out his own thoughts and information.

Culver wasn't liking this news, now they had two big enemies?! It wasn't looking good he knew that much. Havoc wanted to have his input into the matter before anybody else could speak up.

"I seriously doubt this Rex is lacking. Bruiser was attacked, this much is clear for proof. Obviously he isn't hurting for members if he's willing to send one to their deaths or kill them for insubordination." He glanced to Kita as he noticed her tense up & feeling her stress build. She was stressed and becoming worried just as Culver was, the idea of things being safer was nothing more than a illusion.

Alpha kept his stare locked on the wounded Charger. "He said he was ordered to attack, If he came from the north, that order could've been towards Pall's group. Either if it was directed towards us or Pall. Rex is looking and feeling confidant enough to take on and fight." He paused and slowly got closer to Bruiser who prepared himself, only to hear the leading hunter of this pack demand more information from him. "Bruiser? Can you tell us more..? Rex forced you to attack, you tell me more and I will not lay my claws on you." He tried making a deal with the infected in order to obtain more details.

The Charger self proclaiming himself in third person to be Bruiser seemed delighted in the idea. "You no lie to Bruiser?" It was the greatest thing he's come across for the past few days. Thought the wounded infected had clouding doubt in his visible expression. Well, as much as a beastly infected could express to their own ilk. Tricky hunters always lied and cheated. Bruiser reminded himself of this. "How Bruiser know hunters no lie?" He slammed his monstrous arm down to the road below him, cracking apart the asphalt and painting it with red fresh speckles from his injures.

Grahvik happily interrupted his own answer, having to use effort and will power just not to maul the stupid third person talking infected. "I could just kill you if you'd prefer that instead." His growls were erupting with his short tempered rage. Rage which quickly brought fright back into the Charger, who flashed his alert sickly eyes to Grahvik then to Culver as he snapped out.

"Arh! You're not helping!" Culver only slightly regretted his outburst from being a new target of that same rage. He seemed to have the support of the other members though which helped the adolescent feel not completely alone. Alpha tried to patch up the mistrust, "Don't mind him. For now we need to work with each other to get what we both want. Fair deal?"

Bruiser thought about this and the truth in that fact. Though the anger of the hunter behind him gave him a impression he didn't have much choice in the matter.

"Slip tell Boss fight happen not long ago, Bruiser heard others died and hurt. Boss thought it good idea to attack when others weak. Told Bruiser to go and hurt others more."

He was more harder to understand than even Grahvik and his unique growls. It made it a difficult task to keep up with what he was trying to say, Kita even caught Alpha tilting his head as he tried to follow what was being said. The Charger continued not seeming to get the hunters had a hard time understanding him, that or Bruiser didn't care. "Bruiser no want to go alone, he get hurt instead! Boss got mad at Bruiser, he did! Told Bruiser he was traitor if he no listen to him. So Boss chase Bruiser out. Told can come back if Bruiser bring head of enemy." He wore a strong frown to that, he didn't like being chased like that. He was good at attacking survivors, not fellow infected.

Alpha and the pack, including Kita listened to the best of their abilities.

"So your boss Rex did this to you then?" He tried to confirm this. The Charger looked to the majority of his wounds. He didn't remember Rex doing those. Not all of them anyways.

Bruiser gestured Alpha misheard or understood which revived back some inner frustration in the blue-taped hunter. "Not all hurt come from boss. Bruiser was chased, Ran did Bruiser do for long time. Ran into Tank, asked for help to attack. Tank chase Bruiser away more than boss did!" It was a horrible night for him. Certainly one he didn't want to repeat, "Ran into group, they attacked and tried to eat Bruiser! Tank caught up and chased group away, Now Bruiser forced here, more troubles!"

It undoubtedly sounded like a bad night, it made Kita feel slightly better she wasn't in Bruiser's shoes. Least she had something positive to show for her pain and discomfort.

Culver whined, feeling some pity for the injured infected. "Geeze, Don't you feel bad now Grahvik?! He's had it hard enough!" The overly-Friendly youngster seemed to cause the blond brute to hack out a disbelief in the form of a invisible hairball. Snarling soon afterwards and pointing a accusing clawed digit to the intruder. "Are Yarh fucking stupid and lost what's left of yerh brains boy?! This damn trespasser is STILL a enemy! Ain't no room for sobbing pity on `em!" He hissed, frustratingly scraping his free claws over his hood and trying to find relief for the need to exert and vent out some much needed tearing and shredding.

"Grahvik." The growls were obviously of Alphas, it made the aggressive hunter whine out in his deepening vexation. "Don't tell me you actually agree with the little runt?! C`mon Alpha, get ferh real here!" He huffed out a disappointed grumble, finding his silent stare enough to prevent him from further aggravation.

Fine. He wanted to buy into the sob-story then let them, but when shit goes down and he needed help he'd rejoice in the moment just to say I fucking told yerh so.

His thoughts flooded, feeding a returned glare and scowl which fit into his average expression. So unfortunately most of the pack didn't catch onto his true annoyance over the matter. He knew where this was going real fast.

Culver was still holding onto his courage as he tried leaping down from the house he was positioned on and crawled closer, gaining both Bruiser's and Alpha's attention. "We can't just let him go on alone can we Alpha? He can't go back home right?" He was hinting to his leader, hoping he'd just forgive the trespassing and help Bruiser into their pack. Regain their former glory. Kita perked up, Bruiser never seemed aggressive. She felt for the... zombie. Chargers had more of a monstrous appearance than hunters did. So if anything it was harder to trust him but he was injured and keeping close to Havoc made her safe enough.

Besides, it would seem Grahvik would have a new focus for his anger, as sad as that was to look forward too. Havoc didn't seem to be worried over Culver's hint either, and Blood across from her own view was glancing to Grahvik with his average calm quiet nature. Alpha looked to Culver, then to Bruiser who had grown a bit depressed at the fact he had no where to return to. He didn't think of that, he just wanted to keep alive for the moment. The Charger was lost in thought of what to do, which was likely why he had gone so quiet since Culver spoke up.

"That will be his choice Culver. If Bruiser wants to stay, I don't see him giving us a problem. "

Alpha's speech was quickly interrupted by a flailing angered blond hunter in the background as he muttered and crawled off after a sharp, "I Knew it! First the wrench and now one-armed who says his own damn name every two seconds! Fuck yerh all I'm off. "

Bruiser and Kita were left speechless and caught off guard from the outburst. Though Kita was less surprised, Alpha was bombarded at that moment with Culver and Havoc giving him a look under the guise of; 'You going to do something about that or let it slid?' Blood was expecting it, and remained quiet as his companions before finally joining in on staring at his leader but with different intent. "I'll give him a talk if you want." Blood knew Grahvik longer than the rest of the pack and his behavior wasn't something he was surprised by.

Bruiser was less surprised by the outburst, more shocked by the hunter's offer for him to stay. After all this time did he finally meet hunters who were not tricky and helped instead of stole? Bruiser knew he liked the smallest hunter, the boss here wasn't bad but he seemed to have control issues with the biggest hunter. Made the Charger wonder if there was a unbalanced power struggle in this group. Alpha relaxed his stance slightly, "Didn't expect to see Grahvik as the sort to hold grieve and hold a grudge for this long. I'll talk to him, if I can't get through I'll take up your offer."

Blood wasn't worried, he knew whatever commoners got in his friend's way should be however...

Again my apologies for the late chapter. Going through a rough time and it's harder to write. Which suck, because I want to write. e-e Nonethless, I'll continue to do what I can. I wasn't all to pleased at the beginning and middle of this chapter to be honest. Writers Block nearly stopped me there for a moment. So hopefully it isn't all too disappointing. I'm hoping to get to some much more important parts of the story which may reveal answers or big changes for Kita as well as for the pack. I'm not sure if I find Bruiser annoying or cute at this point. o-O I swear I have no control over some of these characters... it makes for a strange awkwardness when you're trying to get things done. and they won't let you.

ANYways, Thank you for sticking around and reading and thank you everybody for the reviews/comments. I highly appreciate them all.
