Hello, everyone! I'm sorry that it's been FOREVER since I've posted… My summer was pretty busy :/ But here's the next chapter! Thank you for all of your wonderful reviews, follows, and favorites!

After Andy's shift ended, I tailed him to his parents' house. The house was in a suburb outside of the city so the drive was a little long. I didn't mind though; I was used to driving for hours at a time and what I could make of the scenery was nice. The pine trees reminded me of… No. Let's change the subject. Since I couldn't see far, the stream we were driving next to looked like- NO. STOP. Why can't I get La Push out of my head?! It must be that the memory was just so traumatic… Except it really wasn't… It's not like any of them were- Well, with possibly the exception of Paul… It's not like they were trying to hurt me, right? I was so focused on my thoughts that I didn't notice how close to the curb I was getting until my tires hit the grooves. I pulled all the way back onto the road and tried to focus on driving.

I was greeted at the door by Mrs. Roberts's warm embrace.

"How are you, Tasha?" she asked enthusiastically.

Mr. Roberts gave me a pat on the back, "Yeah, what have you been up to? Or should I say, where have you been up to! Hahaha!"

"Hah, nice one, Mr. Roberts," I chuckled, "I've been kind of all over the place… Still trying to find the right place, you know?"

"You never could sit still long," Mrs. Roberts mused, "Well, let's get your things inside so you can get to bed; you look absolutely exhausted!"

Mr. Roberts and Andy took my bags up to the guest room and I, of course, followed them. I thanked Andy again for setting this up for me and thanked the Robertses for having me. They assured me that it was no trouble at all and left me to get ready for bed after telling me where the bathroom was.

I took a shower and the hot water relaxed me. As the water soothed my muscles, my mind began to wander again. I noticed that they used the same shampoo that Sam and Emily did. Huh… I wonder how Emmie's doing… She was fine with the boys being wolves, wasn't she? I just can't see Emily acting like she does without her being alright with it. Maybe… Maybe it's not so dangerous... It's still kind of freaky, that's not gonna change. But maybe I could get used to it…? Damn it… Don't make me do this, self! It's not like I can go back anyway… Embry probably never wants to see me again, after what I did! Not to mention Paul. I would be lucky if I lasted 2 minutes! But I had made up my mind, I was going to try to go back… There was no fighting it, I wanted to… I should call Emily first, though. I finished my shower and went back to the guest room.

I got in bed and turned the lamp off. It took me a long time to go to sleep, it was just so quiet.

I woke up and went down stairs to see if anyone was up. Mr. and Mrs. Roberts were in the dining room; breakfast was spread on the table. It wasn't to the same proportion as the breakfast Emily made, but they weren't feeding a dozen or so wolves.

"Oh, good! You found your way downstairs by yourself!" Mr. Roberts joked. I smirked at his comment and took a seat on the other side of the table where there was already a place set for me.

"I was just about to come get you," Mrs. Roberts said. I smiled.

"Breakfast looks wonderful," I said.

"Well, it's not here to look at! It's here to eat!" Mr. Roberts exclaimed. We began to serve ourselves and after I was done eating, I thanked Mrs. Roberts and excused myself.

I went upstairs and picked up my cell phone. I searched through my contacts until I came to "Sam and Ems place." I hit "call" and listened as their phone rang. Please let Emily pick up…

"Hello?" A woman's voice asked.

"Emily?" I asked.

"Ye- Tasha?"

"Yeah… It's me…" I twirled some of my hair between my fingers.

"Wh- I don't- Why are you calling?" Emily asked. She was surprised that I had called, but she didn't sound angry; which was good.

"Well… I kind of miss you…" I told her, "Is anyone else around?"

"No, just me."

"Ok…"

"Are you… Are you thinking of coming back anytime?" She asked hesitantly.

"Well, that's why I called you… I feel kinda bad about how I reacted and I wanted to apologize. Do you think anyone will accept my apology?"

"Your reaction was perfectly natural and of course they'll accept your apology! We've all been so worried about you! Embry can hardly eat…"

"Embry misses me?" I expected him to be the maddest at me. I sat down on the bed; I was shocked.

"He misses you the most!"

My silence prompted Emily to speak again, "But this wolf thing is real. Do you want to know more about it before you come back?"

"Yeah, that sounds good…"

"Well, our young men turn into wolves, as you already know. But not all of them! We don't know exactly why this happens, but we know that if you make one of them mad and they can't control themselves- like Paul- they change. They can also change just whenever they want to; most of them are pretty in control of themselves so it's not- it's not too dangerous or anything, really…."

"I have a question, Emily, and I'm sorry if it's upsetting, but did one of them give you your scar?"

"Yes, but Sam was so young back then; he wasn't in as much control as he is now… I promise that none of these boys will hurt you if you come back, Paul even wants to apologize! I won't and can't force you to come back, but you should really consider it. We all miss you so much… Embry misses you so much."

"I just," I sighed, "I don't know…" I put my face in my hands. "This wolf stuff is just… Just so…"

"Scary?"

"Yes…" I laid on my side, curled in a ball. My heart was beating fast and tears welled in my eyes.

"I know how you're feeling, sweetie. I felt the same way too, when I first found out. But Sam and I are so happy now; you know, you've seen it. And you and Embry could find the same happiness."

"Wh- What are you talking about? What do you mean?"

"Do you remember the story of the third wife?"

"Yes but- Wait, you don't mean to say…?"

"Yes, it's a wolf thing called Imprinting." She said the word so lovingly. Did Sam do this imprint thing on her or something? Is it… A good thing?

"Now, imprinting is very different from just falling in love. When you imprint, it's for life and it's very strong. A boy will do anything, be anything, for the girl he imprints on; and it's not just lovey-dovey, follows you everywhere. Sam gives me my own space. It just means that he loves you more than anything in the world, and it's wonderful…" she mused. I knew she and Sam were deeply in love, and now I knew that it really was magical, what they had. I still didn't have much of an opinion on the whole imprinting thing, though.

"So if Embry has this magical connection to me, why didn't he follow me?" I asked.

"This is more than him just needing to be with you. More than he wants to be with you, he wants to be what you need him to be. You needed for him to be far away, so he stayed away. When you need him close, he'll be close. In a heartbeat; trust me."

"Hmm… OK… I can see this coming together better now," I said. The more she told me about this, the less weird it became. I started to feel more comfortable and protected. Maybe this magic thing worked on both ends? I suddenly felt dizzy.

"Ooooooh…." I groaned.

"Are you ok?" Emily promptly asked.

"I'm just still letting everything sink in…"

"Yeah, I was pretty dizzy when I learned that werewolves and vampires existed too…"

"VAMPIRES?!"

"Oh… I wasn't supposed to tell you that…"

"Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh; WHAT? VAMPIRES TOO? Ooooooooooohhhhhhh," I was kinda sorta maybe just freaking out a ton now. Vampires too- legit? Well, if werewolves existed, then I guess it would make sense if vampires existed as well…

"Emily, whyyyyyyy?"

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry! Just please come back! We're all just worried so sick!" She pleaded.

"Yeah, I'll come back… I don't think I have much of a choice now that I know what's out there."

"Would you like me to let everyone know?" she asked excitedly.

"Yeah, sure. Just not tonight. I want a head start to town before they all know; ok?"

"Sure thing, sweetie. Now, I have to go; the boys are coming in. I'll be seeing you soon!" We said goodbye and hung up. This was final, I was going back to La Push.

I plopped back onto the bed and stared up at the ceiling.

*Emily's pov*

"Sure thing, sweetie. Now, I have to go; the boys are coming in. I'll be seeing you soon! …yeah, goodbye!" I said excitedly. Oooh, everyone was going to be so happy to know that Tasha was coming back!

"Who was that on the phone?" Sam asked as he entered the living room.

"Oh, just a friend," I told him.

"Was it someone I know?" He knew I wasn't being fully truthful.

"Look- I'll tell you who it was tomorrow, ok? I made a promise," I pouted.

"Alright, alright! Don't get all pouty on me…" he said as he turned back to the kitchen. I loved that he did these things for me; always letting me tell him things at my own pace. He knew I wouldn't keep a secret from him for too long, so he would just drop it. Now I just had to put on my poker face and really keep my promise to Tasha!

I walked into the kitchen and tried not to grin like a fool. I served up the eggs and bacon, tossed a couple biscuits about, and filled glasses of milk and OJ. They saw straight thru me, though.

"You seem extra happy today, Emily. What's up? Jared asked.

"Oh nothing, just some good news," I answered as nonchalant as I could muster.

"Good news?" he prodded.

"Yeah, we don't get much news around here," Paul stated.

"Well, yeah. Nothing too big," I said a bit too fast.

"Emily, what's going on?" Jacob asked.

"Oh! I just can't do it! Natasha's coming back to La Push!" I blurted.

There was a collective, "WHAT?!"

*back to Natasha*

I sat right back up. Emily was NOT going to be able to keep my secret that long… I sighed. Well, looks like I need to start packing.

I put the few things that I took out of my bag back into my bag and zipped it up.

"Leaving so soon?" Mrs. R asked at the door.

"What? Oh… Yes ma'am," I said, startled.

"Were you even going to give us any warning?" She asked jokingly.

"Well… Sort of?" I laughed.

"If you really must go, go on ahead. It was lovely having you with us, dear," she smiled.

"Thank you for letting me stay, I couldn't afford another hotel room…" I said before I had realized what was coming out of my mouth.

"Oh! Let me send you away with some money then, dear," she offered.

"That wouldn't be necessary!" I exclaimed, covering my tracks, "Where I'm headed isn't too far away, and I'm more than likely going to be setting roots there with some people I met. I'll be alright."

"Well, if you say so, dear."

"And I do. Thank you again for letting me stay the night!"

I said my goodbyes to the Roberts's and headed for La Push. Little did I know that I wouldn't reach my destination.
