Recap: "I'm thinking about leaving."

"Please don't," he says.

"Why not?" I ask, "Everyone would be better off. They would have to think at any moment I could snap and kill everyone."

"I know you won't."

"You're wrong," I say.

"Am I really?" he asks.

"Yes," I answer, "She's also right about not knowing me."

"So?" he asks.

"How can you trust me?" I ask.

"I don't know," he says, "But you're nice and pretty."

"I'm not nice or pretty."

"Yes you are!"

"No I'm not!"

"If you say that one more time," Natsu starts, "I'll throw you in the water."

"I. Am. Not. Nice. Or. Pretty," I taunt.

"That's it!" The next thing I knew, I was in the water.

"NATSU!"

"Yes?" he asks. I stand up.

"I'm gonna get you!"

That's how I spent the whole afternoon. Playing with Natsu and acting like a normal kid. I've never been able to do that. I'm glad I had that chance. Now if only Erza and I were talking, then everything would be perfect!

Chapter 12

Lucy's P.O.V,

Last night instead of staying the night with Erza, I stayed with Natsu and Happy. Currently, we are walking to the guild.

"I'm scared," I say to Natsu and grab his hand.

"You are scared?" he says, "You could probably kill me with a touch and you're scared?"

"Yes."

"Why?"

"She's mad at me," I say, "I hate having people mad at me. For some reason it reminds me of my father…"

"It's okay," he says, "If I know Erza, she'll be stubborn, but she'll also feel guilty."

I smile at him and hug him. Then I skip to the guild entrance. I stop before opening the door, "Coming?"

"Yeah," he says and slams the door open, "WE'RE HERE!"

"Hey, flame brain!" I hear Gray yell.

Natsu looks at me, "Let me hurt him, please!"

"Um, sure?" I say unsure.

He cheers before going after Gray. I shake my head at how weird he is. I see Levy and I sit by her.

"What's up?" I ask.

"The sky!" she says back with a smile. I giggle.

"Don't forget the birds!"

"Oh, NO!" she says dramatically. We giggle. Then I see a golden light.

"PRINCESS!" I hear from Loki.

I sigh, "Who'd you piss of this time?"

"Aquarius," he says nervously.

I blink before I stand up on a table, "Attention everyone!" They all look at me. "Today is truly a sad day. We are gathered her today to celebrate the life of Leo the lion and preserve the memories that he is leaving us with. I am going to miss him. It's truly sad to see him to his death." I put my hand on my heart. I could feel Loki glaring. Most of the people are laughing. "I will always remember all the danger he put himself through to get me here and also I will remember how he was stupid enough to piss of Aquarius. This poor man/spirit/lion will always be remembered. Now a moment of silence please." It was silent for a minute before I cracked up. "Nah, I'm kidding," I say then I turn to Loki, "But she is going to kill you. Unless you did something to Scorpio, then she'll torture you before she kills you. Which reminds me, she's trying to get through the gate.

"SHIT!" he disappears. Then Aquarius appears.

"Where is he!?" she asks with a glare that made everyone, including Mirajane and Erza, step back.

"What'd he do?" I ask.

"I walk into my house, and he's eating sushi with fish," she says, "HE ATE MY COUSIN AND MY UNCLE!"

I blink, "Well hell, he just left."

"Okay," she says, "Oh, and don't summon me for a week. I'm going on a cruise with my boyfriend. Also, how dare you let that asshole of a father of yours have your keys!?"

"Don't worry I got them back," I say.

"Don't EVER let him touch them again or I'll kill you, understood?"

"Yes, ma'am," I say stepping back. Then she disappears. "My life flashed before my eyes."

"So did mine," Levy says, "And I'm not you."

"Wait," I turn to see Erza, "Did you lie when you said your father was dead?"

"In a way," I say.

"This is why I don't want you around," she says, "You lie."

"I didn't lie," I say, "Because he is dead, at least to me he is."

"What do you mean?" she asks.

"He is dead in my eyes," I say, "And in the eyes of my spirits. I don't lie unless I have too. I thought I could trust you, but I guess I should've lied about what I could do. This trip is just hurting me, so don't worry, I'll just say good-bye to Levy and Natsu and I'll leave." Then I turn to Natsu, "I knew you couldn't do it, but thanks for trying. But you failed. I don't belong here, and I'm not worth much. Sorry, somethings are just not meant to be. Goodbye." I turn to Levy, "Goodbye." Then I start walking towards the door.

"Wait!" Natsu yells. I look at him. "You said you'd give me a week to prove you belong here and a week to let me show you how much you're worth." I smile sadly before a tear escapes my eye.

"I know," I say, "But I'm clearly not wanted here. I hope you find Igneel. I tell you the last thing he told me, 'Don't feel bad about her being gone. If it's meant to be, she'll come back. Even death what's meant to be will happen.' I thought maybe this was meant to be. I mean, I felt comfortable enough to tell you about my powers and what they do, but I was wrong. Don't worry about me, I'll be fine. I have spirits, that's all I need. They're the ones that got me through since mother passed away." I wipe my tear, "Besides you know almost nothing about me, so it shouldn't matter if I leave now or not."

"It does matter!" he yells, "To me, it does! I know enough about you! Remember last night!"

"Of course I remember last night," I say with a smile, "You threw me in the river then we went to your house and danced and sang until midnight. I'll never forget it, it's the first time I've act like a kid in four years, but-"

"You are going to throw away you're only chance to be a kid," he says, "just because Erza is scared!?"

"She may be scared, but she's also right," I say.

"How?" he demands.

"I'm dangerous," I say, "Plain and simple, you're risking your life just by talking to me! Why doesn't that bother you!?"

"BECAUSE YOU WOULD NEVER HURT ME!" he yells.

"BUT THAT'S THE THING," I say, "I WILL! THE WRONG THING WILL SET ME OFF! LIKE ERZA I'M A TICKING TIME BOMB!"

"YESTERDAY YOU SAID IT WASN'T YOUR FAULT AND YOU WERE SICK OF PUNISHING YOURSELF FOR IT!"

"AND I AM!" I scream.

"THEN DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!" Natsu yells.

"I CAN'T!" I scream, "IF I DON'T, I WILL WAKE UP ONE DAY AND FIND YOU DEAD!"

"You will not!"

"I will," I say, "Natsu, I've killed 32 people, and most of them were just like you. Trying to help a lost cause. Only a few made me mad. I can't do that again. It will kill me!"

"Why can't you understand?!" he says, "I don't want to see you leave. They may not want you here, but I do!"

"I'm sorry," I say, "I cannot be in another place where I'm hated by everyone, but a few. That's why I'm not with my dad right now. I don't want to be in place where I'm not wanted. Not again."

"I want you here," Erza says.

I look at her, "You have a FUNNY way of showing it."

"I'm just scared," she says looking down, "I don't want my nakama to get hurt."

"Exactly," I say, "That's why I need to leave." I felt more tears go down my face. "I'll hurt them."

"I'll stop you," Natsu says.

"Natsu," I say, "I can start a meteor shower by snapping. I can have everyone in here tied up by thorns by moving my hand. I can have this place in rubble by screaming. I can flick my wrist and have the floor become like quick sand. If my eyes were to turn purple, I can control anyone. I can have you kill your friends, and that's not even of half of what I can do! What makes you think you can stop me if I lose control!? I am the ultimate weapon if you don't believe me, ask the magic council."

They all look at me in shock.

"There is a reason why my only nakama are spirits!" I say, "If I lose control, they can escape. You can't! Why would you want me around!?"

"Why would I want you around?" he repeated, "Yesterday, I say this really pretty girl. She told me she wasn't nice or pretty, so I threw her in the river, and she pulled me right in with her. That girl was carefree and as much as a child as me. That girl is you! I want to make you that way some more. I want to help you forget how you can someone with touch, I want help you to forget that as soon as someone touches you everything bad that happened to them is shown to you, but most of all I want to be that carefree kid that you were yesterday!"

I look at him with tears in my eyes, "How can you do that?"

"I don't know, but let me try," he says, "Please!"

I look down. Would it be so bad? I did tell him I'd be here for a week. But what if I lose control?

"Stop thinking of the 'what if's!" Natsu yells, "If you want to think of one, then how about, 'what if you say no'!"

"You have until the end of the week," I say, "But if I lose control, or my eyes gold, red, and black, I'm leaving, and I won't come back." The next thing I know I'm tackled to the ground by something with pink hair.

"YES!" he cheers.

"HEY GET OFF!" I say.

"DOG PILE!" Gray yells. Then most of the kids also tackle me.

"I'm going to kill you Natsu," I say at the very bottom, "And Gray you're what the revenge business calls 'next'!"

The guild members laugh. I give a slight smile. Do they really think a few days can change a few years? At least some people are willing to try.
