Ven, Terra and the Christmas Metalcore Interruptions, pt. 2
Radiant Garden, 5 days before Navidad…
Standing in the middle of Market Street, Aqua went to Radiant Garden as Master Eraqus had heard complaints from the city about a group of guys going around interrupting carols with loud rock music. She remembered hearing Terra say something about "rocking out" to Navidad jams, but she didn't think that he would go around and prank people during a sacred time for those of the Light. So, she went to Merlin's house as he had gave the complaint. He was going to zap them for pranking people, but they were much too fast. And he was afraid that they would try to interrupt Ansem the Wise's annual celebrations. If so, then…
So, she agreed to find them, but even she had a hard time. Going through the streets and seeing the festivities, Aqua hoped that no one would get hurt or try to hurt her friends for such behavior. But, they were asking for it.
Finding a band playing modern pop, she heard them sing, "Santa tell me if you're really there! Don't make me fall in love again if you won't be here next ye…!"
A loud "RAUGH" interrupted everything and scared the singer. Aqua looked up and saw a group of four playing rock music on the rooftops. Headbanging and putting up "horns" was included. She sighed, knowing who it was.
"Terra…how did you rope Ven and others into this…?" she groaned.
After a few seconds, they ran off, happily jumping to their next destination. Just as Aqua was about to give chase, Rinoa, Tifa and Aerith found her. Upset, Tifa said, "They got away again!"
"It's been like this for the past week…" Rinoa said, exhausted.
Aerith pouted and said, "I can't even enjoy drinking my hot cocoa in peace without them putting metalcore in everything!"
"Um, I think I know who's doing all this," Aqua said.
Rinoa and Tifa looked at her and said, "Oh, are you Ven's friend?"
"Yeah. And I think…he may be involved. If you can help me find him, we can save those getting harassed by metalcore," Aqua said.
They agreed and joined the Keybearer in finding Terra and Ventus.
Radiant Garden, chapel…
Little Kairi, dressed in a thick white and purple dress and standing in the choir stand with other young children, waited as their director came in for choir practice. They had a big part in the annual play and the director declared that it was going to continued as scheduled, despite the evil "metalcore" band going around ruining carols. She didn't know what it was, but just wanted to sing her little heart out.
"Alright, we'll be getting started. Sister Alma, please give us the note," the director, Sister Celes Chere, said.
The other, Sister Alma, sat at the piano, playing with her phone. With a stomp, Sister Celes got her attention and she played the first note on the piano for "Carol of the Bells." With a grin, Sister Celes said, "Okay, high notes!"
Kairi, in that section, held up her booklet and sung with the others. They started with, "Hark! How the bells! Sweet silver bells, all seems to say 'throw cares away'! Navidad's here, bringing good cheer! To young and old…"
Very loud rock music filled the chapel and someone screamed, "RAA-AAA-AAA-AAA-AAA-AAA-AAUGH! WOW!"
Sister Celes jumped at the noise and glowered as she saw a familiar redhead singing. She grabbed her song booklet and threw it like a shuriken. Lea ducked and she yelled, "WE ARE TRYING TO PRACTICE!"
"And we want to rock out!" Lea said, dressed in all black and wearing makeup like he was in an emo-rock band.
The others were dressed similarly and Kairi could only think, 'Huh?'
The four, or five, ran away as Sister Celes had called on the other sisters to attack. They chased them out of the chapel and Kairi tilted her head, confused. Without anyone noticing, she left the stand and followed. Were they the ones ruining Navidad? If so, then she had to do something about it…even if she was just a kid.
With Merlin…
"I'm getting too old for this…" Merlin said, in the southern gardens.
He lost clues to the emo band's whereabouts and wanted to stop them before the day of Navidad, when all the festivities reached the climax. Finding a bench, he groaned as his old bones were tired and those kids were far too quick. If only he was 20 years younger, he would catch up and zap them to oblivion. But…that would be a harsh punishment, right?
"No! They're interrupting the celebration of the Light and they need to be taught a lesson!" Merlin declared.
"Hi, Mister Merlin!"
Kairi found him and he gasped, asking, "What are you doing here? How did you get away from the Sisters?"
"I just left after some rocker guys in black screamed at choir 'hearsal," Kairi told him.
"Are they still there?" Merlin asked.
"I dunno. I left," Kairi answered.
The old wizard started to think. If they're going around interrupting carols, then…
"Ah! I got it!" he said.
"Got what?" Kairi asked.
"Do you remember the lyrics to 'Let it Go'?" Merlin asked her.
Kairi smiled, saying, "Uh huh! That's my favorite song from the 'Queens of Ice'! 'Let it go! Let it go! Can't hold back anymore…!'"
"Yes, yes. Remember those lyrics. We'll get back at them yet!" Merlin declared.
He led Kairi back to the castle, knowing Ansem would have his head if anything happened to her.
"Silent night…Holy n…"
"NIGHT!"
Aqua jumped, holding her heart as she heard someone screaming in the accessory shop's intercom. It sounded like Ven, but she was certain that the boy wasn't much of a singer. The owner, a man named Galuf Val, grumbled and said, "This is the sixth time those boys done this. And now that got Gladio and his friends in on it too."
"Gladio? Oh no…" Aerith said.
"What's wrong?" Aqua asked.
"They're SeeDs from Insomia…And Gladio and Noct love rock music…" Rinoa explained.
"And the last time they rocked out, they had a mini concert and nearly destroyed the whole lunch room…" Tifa added.
"And that was without Cloud and Squall…" Rinoa said.
The girls didn't seem to hopeful that their friends didn't join her friends' rampage of destroying Navidad carols. The door opened and a taller blonde and his glasses-wearing friend appeared, both wearing black and looking like they just stepped out of a boy band cover. Aqua stared and the blonde asked, "Have you seen Noct and Gladio?"
"No. We were gonna ask you two, Prompto," Tifa told him.
"Well, we've heard that Cloud and Squall have joined the shenanigans," the glasses-wearing one, Ignis, said.
"That's not good…Squall already hates this time of year and doing that's gonna make him more of a grinch," Rinoa told them.
Aqua, wanting to know more, asked, "So, where do you think they'll go…?"
"Hmm…the next place would probably be Balamb Academy. And if not there, then Galbadia," Aerith said.
"As long as they don't add Zack, I'm sure we'll be fine," Ignis said.
Before they could leave, they heard the next song on the intercom, "All I want for Navidad is…"
"YOU-UUU-UUU-UUU! BLEAUGH!"
"Okay, that's gotta stop…" Aqua muttered.
And that's the next part of these crazy metalcore shenanigans. Will Aqua find them before they ruin the holidays or will they succeed in bringing metal to Radiant Garden? Stay tuned!
And thanks to a guest reviewer for their review. I usually don't take too many story ideas from people for my fics. I more like encourage other people to write their ideas. And if I take an idea, I just make a disclaimer, like I'm doing now, and just make the whole thing a parody. So, thanks to YouTuber Jake Holland for the idea for these few chapters.
Lastly, Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays! Chanukah! Kwanzaa or whatever you celebrate!
