Hey guys, sorry for the late chapter, I've had most of it done for quite a while, but I just couldn't seem to get the chapter to how I wanted, I still don't think I did either but it's better than what it was I guess haha

Chapter 8

They all quickly scrambled out of tent in a hurry at the urgency in Arthur's voice, the sound of what sounded like gunfire, explosions and screams greeted them as they burst though the entrance of the tent. Smoke thickened the air, tents were strewn about and destroyed, Muggles, witches and wizards alike were screaming and running away in terror.

"What's going on?!" Ron cried as he wrestled his jacket on that he quickly grabbed before leaving the tent. Percy rushed out of tent and stood alongside Arthur his wand out at the ready.

"Go into the forest and stay together! I'll come and get you all when we've sorted this out!" Percy and Arthur sprinted away.

"Come on! We've gotta go!" Fred shouted and grabbed Ginny's hand and started running towards the forest. Harry, Ron, Hermione, George and Kagome followed suit.

They made their way through the forest, now and then they would see dark figures and hear cries and screams.

Kagome growled, hoping to be able to sense and smell any danger before anything serious could happen. 'There is something here...' she shivered involuntarily at the horrible aura that brushed against her senses distantly 'It's dark...like Naraku's was-!'

Ron cried out in pain as he fell over, Kagome yelped having almost been fallen on and rushed to Ron's front to see if he was alright and nudged his chin.

"Ron? What happened?" Hermione called.

"Lumos!"

Light flittered though the tree's to find a fallen Ron "Tripped over a tree-root!" he hissed in pain as he tried to get up as Kagome pulled on his sleeve at his wrist in an attempt to help him.

"Thank you, Kagome" he said gratefully and gave a short quick massage to his ankle and winced in pain.

"With feet that size it's hard not to" came a snide voice from the shadows.

Kagome stood in front of Ron quickly, growling low in her throat, irritated that she didn't sense the boy sooner, she was unsure if he was a threat or not.

Hermione quickly pointed her wand at the direction of the voice, showing the figure of Draco Malfoy, arms crossed and leaning against one of the trees with a smirk on his face.

"Shouldn't you be running along now? Wouldn't want her spotted now would you?" he drawled giving Hermione a pointed look.

Kagome tilted her head confusedly, what did he mean?

"Hermione is a witch!" Harry shouted angry, his eyes blazing.

Draco snorted, humour shining in his eyes "Whatever you say...Potter, if you think they can't spot a Mudblood, why don't you stay where you are then?" he said snidely.

The tension was thick within the group and though Kagome didn't understand it was obviously something quite offensive. 'Though he seems to be warning us...why? Why not attack or call someone to attack? His not as dark as he makes himself seem to be...'

"You watch your mouth!" Ron shouted taking a step forward on his sore ankle, trying to hide the wince. Kagome though saw this having turned when he moved from behind her and concentrated her Miko-ki and brushed her tail quickly against his ankle in a very small pink flash to relieve a small amount of his pain that she could.

'My Miko-ki seems to still work fully in this form, I'm just rusty from disuse, thank Kami' Kagome thought relieved.

"Oh come on" Hermione said angrily, irritated at the Slytherin and grabbed both Harry and Ron's arms to continue down the path. Kagome stayed and watched the boy, who stared back at her with some fear and wariness in his eyes, before blinking slowly and trotting after the golden trio.

Kagome caught up to the three friends and paused in horror...three? Where did Fred, George and Ginny go? Kagome whined in worry and tried to spread out her aura, only to recoil in pain as all the auras, both dark and amused and utterly terrified aura's hit her. She felt like she was being suffocated, 'I need to do this!' she bared the pain and stretched her aura out and faintly felt their worried aura's 'Yes!'.

Hermione, Ron and Harry looked back at the fox and realized why she whined "Where's Fred, George and Ginny? Oh no...I hope they're okay" Hermione bit her lip in worry.

"They'll be fine" Ron said with a firm nod and bend down stroked Kagome's back "We'll find them".

Kagome tilted her head up to Ron and gave him a small bark in affirmation.

With that Kagome lead the way in the direction she had felt their aura's and kept her senses open in case of any more danger.

Harry reached into his pocket in case of any sudden attacks only to feel nothing. With a sinking feeling he patted down his other pockets and checked his jacket in disbelief "I've lost my wand!"

Hermione looked at him with a stern look crossed with disbelief "You're joking?".

"No I'm not!"Harry shouted annoyed, he frantically looked on the ground around him, Hermione raised her wand so that the streams of light surrounded the area but nothing was found.

"Maybe you left it at the tent, mate" Ron said with a shrug, starting to walk again.

"Yeah, maybe..." Harry frowned, he usually kept his wand on him.

Kagome felt her fur stand on end when a dark aura brushed up against hers, her eyes widened, she needed to get the trio away from them. Kagome barked and picked up speed, the trio following.

Harry lagged behind and abruptedly turned around at the sound of someone stepping loudly through the forest not far from him.

"Hello?" Harry called "Who's there?" he went and poked his head around a large tree in the direction of the noise and peered into the darkness, just barely making out a figure and their vague features.

"Morsemordre!" the figure shouted as a beam of green light erupted from what Harry now deduced as a wand and shot into the sky. Harry backed away and stared into the sky as green smoke roiled and created a massive skull in the sky, with a snake slithering its way through the mouth. Harry gasped in pain, his hand flew up to his scar and winced.

Kagome lead them out of the forest and was about to head in the direction of Fred, George and Ginny and Arthur who she now felt, when a dark energy seemed to wash over her so quickly it made her gasp in pain.

"Look!" Hermione cried and pointed to the sky "It's the dark mark..." she whispered in fear. Kagome shivered at the sight of it, it felt disgusting. Kagome looked at the trio, only to find two of them 'No!' Kagome cried in her head 'I need to find him!'

Kagome got herself together and barked at Hermione and Ron, running to Ron and grabbing a chunk of his jeans and tugged him in the direction she felt his family in. "Kagome? What-?"

But she was already gone.

"Kagome!" Ron called out worriedly, Hermione looked on and groaned "She must be going to find Harry, where'd he go?"

"I don't know, should we go to?"Ron questioned looking worriedly into the dark forest.

Hermione peered into the darkness they had only left moments ago and shook her head "I don't think we'll be much use, we need to find your Dad for help, I think she was showing us the way before she left" Hermione stated, pointing to the slightly damp mark on Ron's jeans.

Giving one last look to the forest they went off in search of Arthur.

Harry panted in pain his forehead stinging along with his side from running, he could just make out the forest floor 'Am I going the right way?'

"Damn it!" Harry cursed as his foot hit a tree root, nearly tripping him over.

He paused when he heard something approaching him quickly and cursed inwardly again when he didn't feel his wand and stood still listening. He heard a bark and felt relief wash over him, never was he so happy to hear Fred and George's pet fox.

"Kagome?" Harry called out quietly, Kagome barked back in response as she skidded into the clearing, panting from her run.

"Thank Merlin, can you lead me to Ron and Hermione?" Harry asked walking up to her where he could see her more clearly. Kagome barked in response with a nod and turned around and made her way to the right slightly to lead the way. Harry blinked in surprise 'Did she understand me?' he thought as he clumsily followed her, dodging tree roots and the like. 'Maybe I was seeing things...it is dark, but...' he peered down and watched her closely and noticed something surprising.

Every time he would slow down to get around bushes or step over logs, she would as well so that she would be in his sight and she seemed to making more noise with her steps so he could hear her more clearly as well. 'She is definitely not a normal fox' he thought with a firm nod, he was grateful though.

They made it out of the forest to see everyone running around and panicking, Kagome tried leading Harry though the chaos, dodging feet as she went. Harry was having a hard time too, watching where Kagome was going and attempting to push though people and keep from falling from all the pushing and shoving from all the panicked Wizards, Witches and Muggles.

Kagome lost concentration and was kicked hard by a rushing person, she felt pain flash though her head as she landed harshly on the ground, winded.

"No!" Harry shouted as Kagome quickly disappeared from his vision, he stopped and found her amongst the rush on the ground, he quickly scooped her up and held her to him and continued on being careful to not let people knock her too much.

Harry grit his teeth seeing the fur on her head matted and slicked by blood and quickened his pace, searching out for Ron and Hermione, only to bump into them a minute later.

"Guys!" Harry said excitedly.

"Harry!" Hermione shouted white and terrified, yet relieved to see him. "Where did you go?"

"I saw someone, he cast a spell and that skull appeared in the sky" Harry said shakily.

"We have to go, now!" she started to tug Harry and Ron and make their way into an area where no one was rushing in to decipher more of what Harry said.

All of a sudden they were surrounded by wizards with their wands out, pointing at them, without pausing to think, Harry grabbed Hermione's arm with one hand, still holding Kagome securely and shouted "DUCK!"

"Stupefy!" roared the voices.

Kagome winced at the sudden jolt and watched dazedly as red lights collided and rippled above her, she smelt the fear from the three 'I need to get up...'

"Stop!" yelled a voice "Stop! That's my Son!" Harry, Ron and Hermione lifted their heads to see a terrified Arthur Weasley sprinting towards them.

"Ron, Harry, Hermione, are you okay? Oh no! Kagome is she alright? He asked worriedly, looking them all over.

"Out of the way, Arthur" came a cold voice. It was Barty Crouch, striding towards the, his wand towards the trio, as the other Wizards closed in on them, following his lead.

"Which one of you did it?" he demanded.

"Barty, they didn't-" Arthur started.

"Who did it?" he once again demanded interrupting Mr Weasley.

"We didn't do anything!" Ron shouted.

"Do not lie!" You could see the veins bulging out of his neck "You have been discovered at the scene of a crime!"

"Crime? What crime?" Harry asked confused.

Hermione nudged him and pointed to the sky "The dark mark, Harry...his mark".

"Voldemort..." Harry whispered, shocked.

"Well? Which one of you did it?" Crouch sneered.

"Well Harry said he saw..." Hermione trailed off.

"A man, he was in the forest and did a spell that made the mark" Harry pointed in the direction that he saw the man cast a spell.

"Oh did they now?" Crouch said in disbelief clearly not believing the boy.

On the contrary the Wizards and Witches turned and pointed their wands out into the nearby forest with narrowed eyes.

Amos Diggory straightened himself up and walked purposely into the forest with two wizards, Crouch ground his teeth and lowered his wand from the group and waited anxiously for Bagmans return.

Minutes later the small group of wizards returned "Anything?" Crouch asked.

Diggory nodded and held out a wand, Harry recognised it immediately "My wand!" he said, shocked, recognising it immediately "I dropped it".

"You dropped it, is this a confession?" he said suddenly, Harry just looked at him in disbelief.

"Amos, think about it, why would Harry Potter cast the dark mark" Arthur asked him, irritated beyond belief.

"Err..I suppose not, sorry about that..." Amos amended looking embarrassed.

Crouch rolled his eyes 'Bumbling fool' and marched over to him and grabbed the wand "Prior Incanto" he said briskly, not soon after green smoke roiled from the wand to form the dark mark.

Many in the clearing gasped at the sight and started whispering amongst themselves.

Kagome opened her eyes slightly, her sight blurry as she tried to focus her attention on the green blur 'A skull and a Snake? Not any weirder than a spider in a baboon pelt' she in amusement.

Crouched cleared his throat and handed Harry his wand "Alright, I need half of you to split up and search the area, the others help sort out this mess" he gestured to the chaos that surrounded them.

"Let's go, you three" with that they made it through the crowd and to their tent and went inside.

"Kagome!" came two shouts as Fred and George rushed over to the teenagers and hurt fox, Fred gently took her from Harry's arms and into his own and started stroking her gently. George hissed at the cut on her head and ran to get some warm water, cloth and some disinfectant for her wound.

Fred and George both disappeared into their room to help her.

Arthur gaped, never thinking he would witness his twin Sons be so serious before smiling, who knew?

He turned to others who also had a look of disbelief "Well I think we could all do with an early nights sleep".

George placed his supplies down and pushed his bed against Fred's so that they had more room, Fred gently placed her on his bed and sat behind her, George sat in front of her and gently dabbed at her wound with the damp cloth.

Fred gently stroked her, removing any twigs and brambles that were caught in her dark fur. George dipped the cloth in the basin and wrung out the towel and finished off her wound, before gently applying the disinfectant, wincing in sympathy at the small whine she gave.

Kagome slowly opened her eyes blearily, seeing two blurred figures before her 'What happened?' she thought in a daze.

"Kagome?"

'Fred, George?' Kagome blinked slowly, the two figures becoming clear before her, showing her the worried faces of the two that took her in.

"Are you okay?" Fred asked, giving her ear a rub.

Kagome tried to stand on wobbly legs, only to feel a sudden wave of nausea and for said legs to give out from under her 'I feel so lightheaded...'

"Stay Girl, you need to rest" George said gently and got off the bed, only to return moments later with the small blanket from her bed, he laid it on top of her and tucked it in around her. Kagome looked at them, wide-eyed at their sudden grins.

"I think it's time for bed, wouldn't you say so, George?"

"I do believe you're right, Fred"

With that Fred grabbed his Doona as did George and they laid down on their bed, one on each side of her, both facing towards her. Kagome stared at them in disbelief and embarrassment 'If my Mother saw me now...'.

She watched on as they slowly started to fall into slumber 'Thankyou...' Kagome thought, grateful for the help and the warmth they gave, giving her a warm feeling.

"You're welcome..." came there whispered response of the now sleeping twins.

Kagome's eyes widened 'I can't of said that out loud...' she felt a wave of drowsiness wash over her 'It must be a twin thing...' with that thought she too, slept after a long day feeling utterly exhausted.

Unknown to all occupants in the house, a sense of calm swept through the house, the occupants falling into a more peaceful sleep. The origin of this source coming from the room that housed the twins, specifically from the unknown girl whose legs were twined with those of the twins, their arms around her waist and content smiles on their faces.

"Oh thank goodness!" cried Molly, as she ran to her family in relief, her eyes red from crying and face pale.

Everyone was surprised when she ran straight to Fred and George, Kagome took this cue and leaped from George's shoulder to Rons head.

Molly crushed them into a hug, causing them to bang their heads together.

"Ow! Mum..."

"You're strangling us!"

"I yelled at you before you left, my last words to you would have been about getting more O.W.L's..." she wept, clinging to them tighter.

"They're fine Molly, we all are" Mr Weasley said soothingly, taking her into his arms as she sobbed into his shoulder.

Harry looked up at the dark fox perched on Ron's head and reached up and gave her a stroke on the head "Thanks for yesterday, Girl" Harry said gratefully, Kagome gave a happy bark in return as they stepped inside.

Kagome sat on the windowsill as she watched clothes and objects float around the room and neatly placed themselves within the twins trunks.

'How does it all fit?' she thought bewilderedly.

"Another year already, eh?"

Kagome left her place from the windowsill and made her way to one of the trunks, objects whirling around her slowly, making their way to their designated spots.

"Seems to be" George replied, watching Kagome, bemusedly as she cautiously approached his trunk, her ears and tail twitching in curiousity.

They both smiled at the cute display, before Fred's smile turned into a smirk and he discreetly waved his wand and motioned for Georges pillow to slowly make its way behind her. The corners of the pillow curled, the tips holding it up and it tip toed behind her.

Kagome lifted herself up on her haunches and looked within the depths of the trunk, and almost yelped in shock, it was huge! 'How is it this big!' she though frantically, trying to wrap her mind around it.

"Somehow though I think..." Fred smirked and with a swish of his wand the pillow jolted up from its position and knocked the startled fox (who now yelped) in the trunk. The brothers snickered and peered into the trunk at the confused, wide-eyed fox.

"This year will be a lot more fun!" .
