By the time they had gotten back on the ship the sun was setting it didn't surprise Marco they had been gone all day even though they had been close by Ace kept stopping constantly to look at things.

"Hey Marco should I wrap this?" Ace asked.

"Up to you but if you don't have any were not going back to get some" he replied. Ace gave a nod Luffy would be getting his gifts like this then.

"I'm going to go check on my crew I'll be back in a little

He then went into the kitchen to see Sanji decorating a cake pirate themed of course. It looked amazing there was images of both ships and their jolly Rogers

"Where's Luffy?" Ace asked after watching the cook decorate for a little while. Sanji looked up not realizing that Ace had been standing there.

"Probably sleeping somewhere with the swordsman" Sanji replied and continued to work on the cake. Ace let out a sigh. He didn't particularly want to go search the ship for the two but he did want to see Luffy. He headed down the stairs to begin his search. It was most likely that they were in the men's sleeping room. He started in that direction. As he was getting close he thought he saw something move in the shadows. Letting his curiosity get the best of him he approached were he saw it move. He peaked behind some barrels and spotted a tall blond haired man wearing a suit and a top hat. He reminded Ace of his brother. Ace opened his mouth to yell but before he could the man quickly grabbed him and covered his mouth. Ace began to struggle.

"I'm not going to hurt you okay kid" the man whispered, Ace glared but stopped struggling.

"I'm just looking for one of my... Friends" Ace raised his eye brow curious as to who this guys "friend" could be.

"I won't hurt anyone here I promise just don't tell anyone I'm here okay?" Ace nodded. The hand was removed from his mouth. Ace gave him a wicked smile.

"So what do I get out of this?" The man gave him a quizzical look.

"You know what do I get for not tell? Cause if I don't get anything I could "accidentally" mention that your here at any moment" a smile spread across the man's face the kid was smarter then he looked. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a few Belly and handed it to Ace. He put a finger to his mouth in a shh movement. Ace nodded then walked away from where he had been talking to him. He then proceeded to go look for Luffy.

The two were exactly where he had assumed they would be. Both were sleeping in a hammock Luffy was laying on top of Zoro. Ace slightly tired himself walked over and tried to get in as well. His attempt failed and he landed flat on his ass. He gave a sigh of aggravation. The noise thankfully was not enough to wake up Luffy but it was for Zoro. He cracked open an eye to see Ace once again trying to get in. He reached out and lifted the boy in. Ace gave a surprised yelp. He smiled at the swordsman in a show of thanks the lied down beside Luffy. He quickly fell asleep.

Ace woke up hours later to Nami calling them upstairs. Luffy ran up knowing that it was around time for dinner. Ace was a lot slower and was followed behind by Zoro.

At the top of the stairs Luffy stood staring in awe. The kitchen was fully decorated with balloons and streamers. On the table was the cake that Sanji had been working on earlier and a bunch of Luffy's favorite foods were around it. The presents were on the counter as there was no room on the table. As Ace and Zoro were heading up the stairs they heard everyone one shout

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY LUFFY!" A wide grin was spread about his face and Ace had to admit it was one of the few times that Luffy had ever looked that happy.

"Well what are you waiting for?" Ace asked him. Luffy looked at him curiously, Ace rolled his eyes.

"Go eat!" Luffy didn't need to be told twice. He had a bunch of everything that was there. They saved the cake for last. Ace sat beside him the whole time and watched as the crew and Marco enjoyed themselves. Finally after virtually everything other than the cake was eaten they began to sing happy birthday. Unlike most years were the singing was quiet, it was loud and untuned. Ace liked it and hoped that when he was older he'd have a crew that was as happy and rambunctious as this one.

Eventually after the cake, which had ended up in more than one person's face it was time to give Luffy his presents. He received a book from Robin, a map from Nami, a piece of meat from Sanji (which was quickly eaten), a toy sword from Zoro, a robot action figure from Franky, a story from Ussop and chopper and finished with Brooke singing him a song just for him. Luffy loved all of them. Finally it was Ace and Marco's turn they handed over the book and stuffed animals. Luffy looked confused by the book because he knew that Ace knew he didn't read often. Going with his instinct he opened the book. A smile lot his face up once he figured out what it was about.

The rest of the night seemed to go rather quickly after that Luffy and Ace sat by the clementine trees as they watched the straw hats get drunk and even Marco for that matter. Luffy played with all of the toys he was given but kept going back to look at the book Ace had given him. Every time he did Ace smiled knowing that he had made the right choice by giving this book to him. As they were sitting by the trees eventually the man in blue Ace had seen earlier showed up. Ace was too tired to care.

"Did you find your "friend"" he asked practically falling asleep while saying it. The man smiled and nodded.

"Who are you" Luffy asked and as he did Ace released that he had never asked him his name. This time the man shook his head in a no.

"You'll find out soon" was his final answer before he climbed up into one of the trees and fell asleep. Ace shrugged his shoulders when Luffy gave him a confused look. If the guy was going to do something to them he would have already done it. Both Luffy and Ace fell asleep soon after.

Ace woke up really confused. He didn't remember being on the thousand sunny when he fell asleep in fact he didn't remember falling asleep! The last thing he did remember was jumping into the lake to save Luffy. After that there was dreams of being a little kid woke up in the same manner very confused that is they both shrugged and got up they both somehow had woken up with their regular clothes on. They headed towards the kitchen where a lot of loud noise was coming from. As the two young men entered the kitchen all the noise ceased and both were being stared at.

"What?" Ace asked after a few moments. The crew all started to speak at once but eventually the two got the full story. As they did they released what they thought were dreams were actually memories that they had. Ace ran back outside much to the amusement and confusion of the straw hats. He looked up at the tree the blue man had climbed to see him still sleeping there. He shook the tree. Nami yelled at him to stop but he didn't listen. Eventually after much shaking the man fell out. He woke with a start.

"So who are and who exactly are you looking for?" Ace asked with a smile on his face. The man looked up at him in annoyance but a happiness quickly replaced it.
"You don't recognize me Ace?" The man laughed.
"I'm looking for my two brothers there both really successful pirates and as for my name... It's Sabo" Ace and Luffy's mouth dropped open. Sabo then quickly explained how Luffy's father, Dragon had saved him. The straw hats listened intently finally learning the full story of their captains second brother. After he was finished the straw hats left then alone for a while to let them re-bond. The three brothers stood by one of the railings watching as the sun rose higher into the sky. All three exceptionally happy to be together again and ready for their next adventure to begin together.
