That sound really annoyed me but it was a sound I knew too well. The sound of a heart monitor in a hospital. I couldn't believe that Jake had hurt me. But he had nonetheless and I was now a victim of the "bear attacks". I could hear voices around me. My father Charlie talking heatedly to some poor soul, Sam the one that had driven me to the hospital and a few other people whose voices I did not know. I opened my eyes and everyone stopped talking, and I heard everyone get into a circle around me. I reached up and touched my face and could feel the long gashes on it. I could also feel that my eyes were open, but I could see nothing. Nothing but darkness. "Dad?" I asked him hesitantly, "yes baby girl?" I can't see anything." I could hear him gasp. "All I see is nothing, all I see is darkness. Why can't I see?" I was hyperventilating now. "Oh my baby girl, I'm so sorry. The bear attacks have damaged your eyes. The doctors said it is unlikely that you'll get your sight back. I'm so sorry." I was crying but I couldn't feel the tears running down my cheeks apparently Jake's claws had damaged my tear ducts as well. I don't think I can ever forgive him. And if I do which I don't think I ever will it will take an awfully long time.
