Mirene: Well, hello everyone!
Amu: Or the few people that still read this story yo.
Ikuto: Yeah, we didn't get many reviews last chapter?
Mirene: Your charm must be wearing off.
Ikuto: Impossible. Don't even joke about that.
Amu: It's not like you own us and are making a profit out of it, so who cares?
Mirene: I care... I would love to be doing other things but I love writing for everyone. And there are other stories I could focus on rather than this one.
Ikuto: At least you're updating.
Mirene: Yeah. I guess.
Ikuto: Again, anything on here is not researched and is not really accurate. So just enjoy the damn story and don't nag about unimportant crap. Thanks! :D
Mirene: Also, if you've noticed, there have been some dramatic changes made. You may have to reread the entire story, and there is more information in the author's note located at the beginning of the first chapter. I'm sorry for the inconvenience but it was my decision to do this since if I left it, there could be some controversies and I'd like to avoid that. I also fixed some mistakes from the last time this chapter was posted! Please enjoy your read!
Bejeweled
Full Summary: Ikuto is the wealthy, handsome Solarian prince with many wives. While visiting Lunatra and falling in love with the wife of the Lunatran king, he forcefully takes her back to Solaria and marries her without her consent. As her husband is waging war with Solaria to get her back, she must fend off the other jealous wives of this Casanova as she tries to find a way to escape. Amuto!
What would you describe the emotion one would feel when one of their most precious wives had gotten unbelievably hurt while trying to destroy a heavily-planned wedding event and had had a miscarriage before even knowing that there was a baby in the first place?
Would it be sadness? Anger? Panic? Insanity, even?
Ikuto placed the burden on insanity. If he had said that he felt almost nothing, would that have been worse? Possibly, so that's the first word that came out of Ikuto's mouth. "Kairi, I think I'm about to go insane."
"It's plausible," he nodded, feeling uneasy at the too calm tone of his voice as the silence again returned. This silence had an effect on Ikuto. Why did he not feel anything? Why didn't he go and ask more about his wife, whom he was supposed to love and cherish? Why didn't the fact that Mysti was pregnant but then have a miscarriage scar him?
He didn't know. It was like his sadness from losing a baby, the anger from Mysti's actions, and the happiness from having Amu all clashed and cancelled each other out, and he didn't even want to feel anything anymore. Or maybe he was sick.
"Uhm, Ikuto? If you were really her husband you should be running off to the hospital searching for her room and visiting her right now," Amu said, a bit miffed at his statue-like manner. If it were her in Mysti's position, Tadase would blow his balls looking for her and making sure she was okay. Ikuto didn't even seem to be registering that in his mind! Being his wife would really suck... Forget being reminded that she was one of them now.
"Erm," he murmured with a faraway look. "Right. Kairi, prepare a car for me."
"Of course, sir, please follow me," Kairi agreed before taking off out of the room. The green haired man didn't understand why Ikuto had waited until Amu spoke up to do something about Mysti and the information he had just told him. He didn't think the prince was this heartless, or maybe something was interfering with his emotions? The prince followed his advisor out of the room and towards the limousine awaiting the two of them. Once they were seated, Ikuto pulled out a bottle of wine and sipped it, pausing to think before speaking.
"Kairi."
"Yes?"
"I... I don't feel anything."
Kairi knew something like this was coming. "Please elaborate."
"I just... don't feel anything. For Mysti. I know I'm supposed to, but..." He couldn't even find the word for it. Nor could he explain the rest of the sentence to his trusted advisor. "It's weird."
"I'm not exactly sure," Kairi admitted. "Perhaps this is all too much for you to handle at once, so your brain is taking the initiative here and not letting you respond?"
"I don't know."
"We'll get you checked if you prefer," the green haired man adjusted his glasses. "But I think it's a personal issue." Kairi was never really experienced in these sorts of things. He would simply have to ask the doctors for now if the Solarian prince really wanted it, but somehow Kairi knew that it wasn't something medical that can just easily be fixed. "For now... Mysti is waiting."
Nagihiko was on an airplane. Yaya was sitting at the window seat, bawling about how she wanted to taste the clouds because they looked like vanilla-flavored cotton candy. Rima sat in the middle, wearing headphones to block out the brunette with soft music playing. The Lunatran man himself sat on the edge by the aisle, slumped in his seat while he sipped an unfamiliar drink, a screen playing one of his favorite Solarian dramas before him.
Frankly, this would be his first time visiting Solaria, and he would make the best of it. It seemed fun, although he was here to help find Amu, Solaria was a popular place. While Lunatra was more focused on traditional and political subjects, Solaria was a solely entertainment-based continent. All the famous singers and actors came from there, as well as famous athletics and such. However, because Lunatra was such a wealthy continent, having connections with it would be highly beneficial. Creating an enemy out of Lunatra, however, was almost equivalent to instant war. Even a commoner like himself knew the basics.
"What are you mumbling to yourself about?" the blonde beside him asked nonchalantly, staring into his eyes. "You looked so deep in thought. It's almost creepy."
"Just thinking," he smiled, turning his head to the blonde. "About the continents. Wouldn't this create a war, so to speak?"
"Wars are forbidden," Rima said surely, examining her nails.
"I'm quite sure the Lunatran king is going to go berserk over this."
"The continents aren't willing to have another Great Continental War, so don't think about it too much. We'll go and convince Ikuto to return his wife and all will be settled within the month, and it'll be as if this had never happened."
"That's if your king is willing to return her after going to such great lengths to get her."
"He will, we'll all make sure of it. She will go back; there's no room for her."
"No room?"
"No. Ikuto already has a Lunatran wife. There isn't any need for another one. If so, there would be quite the controversy, and I suppose a war could start then. But I don't think so, because the wife of the Lunatran king wouldn't want to stay in any case. She'll be out, whether we all like it or not."
The purple-haired man laid back further, sighing. "Are you allowed to have more than one husband then?"
The blonde looked at him as if he were insane. "How absurd. How can any other man compare to the king himself?"
Although a sting crept painfully around his heart, he still wasn't sure why. Perhaps it was too much excitement from going to Solaria, or maybe airsickness? It felt slightly unbearable. "You may be right."
"I am right," she scoffed, turning her head. "I'm going to rest for a bit. Don't stare at me while I sleep."
"Okay," Nagihiko smiled, already knowing that he couldn't keep that promise.
Tadase sat down in his office, his mind now clearer since he had time to think during his sleepless nights. For now, he could only hope that they weren't married yet and that they would make it in time. If possible, he hoped the other continents wouldn't notice because he didn't want to be a part of the cause for the next Great Continental War. That was one title he was not up for. He just didn't think that blue-haired cat would really do it.
"Your drink," a maid came and placed a can upon his desk before leaving and closing the door shortly after. Picking the cola up, he wiped the top and opened the can casually, sipping it between deep thoughts and heavy sighs.
Was he not scared? Had he not learned from his history lessons? The Great Continental War was the perfect definition of Hell. It was constant bloodshed, and the only way it was resolved was because of a natural disaster that forced all of them to work together if they didn't want humanity to go into extinction. Thanks to Hurricane Amulet, the war ceased permanently. There was no telling whether another godly gift like that would come a second time.
But in all honesty, he didn't care whether war would start between the two continents. He had more back-up on his side, especially when the other side was on the offense in this case. The blonde simply wanted his wife back, his sweet pinkette. He had always treasured her so carefully, so why did she leave him? He had always treated her right, if not better... Only once or twice he would be a bit overprotective, but how could that possibly turn into such bad karma?
His mind couldn't take it. Kairi had promised him through a call a while ago that Amu would return shortly due to an unexpected event over in Solaria. Of course, Tadase wasn't so stupid as to trust a Solarian to rescue his wife. He would be the one to return her back to Lunatra safely, in his arms, where she belonged. He would beg for her forgiveness, she'd forgive him, and they would create a family together happily in their continent.
Ikuto had plenty of wives he could do that with, as it is one confusing tradition of Solaria, but he only had one. Solarians were so greedy. They were greedy for everything: money, fame, beauty... And now women that are already taken! As a king, Tadase couldn't let that slide.
He would come, in shining armor, to take her back from the dragon that had taken her away.
"Tadase," Kukai climbed in through the window from a rope attached to his strap belt, the other end attached to an airship above. "We're ready to go. Are you ready, my lord?"
"I've been ready," Tadase said, crushing the now empty aluminum can in his hand before casting it aside on the ground.
"Great. Here's your strap with the rope attached," the brunette said, tossing his superior the mentioned item. The king quickly caught it, applying it around his chest and waist, clamping the buckles together and tying the ropes into secure knots before stepping out on the railing of the window before Kukai could even blink.
"Let's go, Kukai. Amu is waiting."
Mirene: School. Has. Started.
Amu: It started a while ago.
Mirene: I'm absolutely miserable. I've got two horrible teachers, though the rest are easy and dandy. But I'm taking so many advanced classes that it feels like suicide.
Ikuto: I wouldn't do anything suicidal unless it included Amu.
Mirene: Yeah, yeah. I'm tired.
Amu: So, I'm guessing you'll updating less?
Mirene: Summer's over, I don't have much of a choice.
Ikuto: What if we get lots of reviews?
Mirene: ...I definitely like reading and replying to sweet reviews more than doing homework.
Amu: Despite the stack of homework already up to your neck by the end of the day.
Mirene: Yeah... My school life sucks... But I'll still be around! Slowly writing... Maybe a few words a day... ;u;
Amu: Please review.
