I'm actually so sorry it's been years but I had really given up on this story because I couldn't think of an ending and now I'm shaking my head at myself cause I figured it out.
pft.. good job me. I will be continuing the other half as well, it may take a bit because I am in school. I plan on finishing it though.
also to know: I will be referring them by name not nation anymore.
sorry
It did not take them to long after baking to get themselves ready and prepared. The only reason Mathias had to wait a moment longer was so Jan could run back into the home and grab a small red box from his dresser and shove it into his pocket before hoping luck was on his side.
Soon after that they were off and on their way to the clearing, the ride peaceful and filled with light hearted chatter by Mathias. His voice was like a well tune bird chirp, the pitch going up and down at certain words and during different parts of his sentences.
It was merely babble but for some reason Jan could listen to it forever.
They had been kissing in the silk like grass soon after they got to the clearing. A hum purring from the Dane's lips as he found pleasure in the sweet gesture of a soft kiss. He laid on top of the Dutchman, caressing the side of his face with soft finger tips.
When they broke there were soft smiles on either of their lips, they really had found this far more enjoyable then the clubbing in a way. They felt like they were fully aware now, of true emotion.
"Jeg elsker dig." Mathias whispered sweetly against slightly chapped lips.
Jan moved his hands through Mathias' hair, smiling at the whispered confessions.
"Ik hou ook van je."
They're come so far over the months and years that started it all, almost practically thrown into a relationship. They'd been close before, closer than any friends should be, and it made him contemplate if the feelings they had for each other were there before Søren had come into their life. Or Dyre for that matter.
Breathing in through his nose as Mathias kissed him again he closed his eyes, picturing what it would be like if he ask at this second, this moment. It had been months since his brother gave them the box. He knew what was in it but Mathias surely didn't.
"Mat..." He whispered feeling soft hands smooth up his arms, "I need to ask you something."
"Hmm?" Mathias hummed in return, slipping his hands up to Jan's cheeks, thumbs sweeping over the carvings of high cheek bones, "What is it?"
"Do you ever thing of marriage?"
Mathias blinked in confusion. Mind wondering and wandering about such a question. He didn't wish for hopes to be built up to it, it was even stranger to be asked.
"Sometimes… occasionally… why?" He answered with caution.
"Would you ever want to marry someone?"
"… yes?" He couldn't help but hope.
But nothing else was said for that moment, and Mathias could feel his hopes dwindle down.
xXx
They stayed for most of the day, talking, laughing, eating through lunch and after a bit they were back in the grass. Mathias laid back onto Jan's chest creating rings of flowers into crowns. Once one was done, he placed it on his own head, soon to start another.
"What brought on the marriage questions?" He finally asked, glancing up to Jan before continuing on the ring.
"I was just wondering about it."
Mathias nodded in return, remaining quiet until he finished the second crown and placed it on the other's head, "Then can I ask you the same?"
Jan nodded In return, trying to fix his hair up with one hand.
"Do you think of marriage?"
A nod.
"How often."
There was silence for a couple seconds before he spoke, "… enough."
"Enough…" Mathias smiled a little eyes sparking lightly. "I'm going to get more flowers."
He started to stand but arms had slipped around his waist to pull him back down to the earth. A sound of protest exited his lips as he turned, focusing his gaze to Jan's green eyes. He always found them so vibrant, truly a sight to be seen. A warm smile slipped onto his face having it returned by the Dutchman.
Eyes glanced down as he felt a hand slip away from his waist. Watching, he noticed Jan take out a little red box. He clutched at the other man's shirt.
"So…" Jan started, voice almost cracking, "… uh." He took a second clearing his throat, opening the box to hold two golden bands inside, "would you like to-!"
Before he could ask anymore, lips had pressed against his.
"I do."
End (? I can do the wedding in the next chapter or not, a skip to.)
