Kyoko's POV
"What happened Oni-sama?" Setsuka paused in the middle of the sidewalk and gently placed her hand on Cain's arm "Don't tell me you want to go shopping again."
"That is not a bad idea, that way I can buy the 20 pants I was not able to get last time."
Kyoko had to fight back the urge to scream.
"But we did that already." She whined and worked up every nerve in her body and cuddled his arm and leaned on him. "I was just thinking that I wanted to let you spoil me in a different way."
Cain looked down and gave her a serious look that looked a bit like the emperor of the night. "Well if that's what you want. What did you have in mind?"
Setsuka sighed and looked around, it was a small town and places were already starting to close. Also neither of them were hungry as they had already eaten dinner. That is when she noticed a couple of older women exit a building, all smiling and happy. Each of them had a to go box that had the label 'Cafe Bonheur'.
Well that place looks safe Kyoko thought. It had not been long since Cain had gotten into the confrontation with the street thugs. However this place looked safe, family friendly. It should be fine.
"I want to eat there." She said pointing toward the cafe.
"Ok" He said with a shrug and slowly made their way to the entrance.
Once they entered Kyoko was hit with a wave of regret. Her nostrils were hit with amazing scents that it was hard not to imagine all the delicious options. Behind the counter stood a tall black haired serious man that cordially greeted them. Kyoko could not tell if he was just that expressionless or if he was somehow accustomed to weirdos. Suddenly from the corner of her eyes she saw a young elementary girl appear. The girl practically hopped in front of them and for a second just stood there staring in shock, trying to take in their outfits. Kyoko did the same and quickly noticed that she was not a child but the waitress.
"Ah! Sorry hi! Welcome to Cafe Bonheur! Party of two?"
"Yes." Setsuka muttered then rolled her eyes.
"Ah yes of course" she said with a nervous laugh, "again sorry for the delay. I shall be your waiter today, my name is Takamura. Would you like to have a window seat?" Her eyes alternated between Cain and Setsuka even though he had done absolutely nothing to acknowledge her existence.
"I dont care." Setsuka shrugged
"Ok then come with me please," with that she quickly grabbed to menus and started to walk toward a booth by the window.
As expected they turned heads. Tables that were bursting with energy would quickly quiet down and everyone's attention was on them. Kyoko could not help but notice that Takamura was picking up trays as she passed by tables. Very efficient but the girl did not seem very skilled in the art and Kyoko could already see her dropping half the plates on the floor.
"Here we go." She said pointing to a booth. "May I start you off with a drink?" She asked once they settled and opened the menu.
"Oni-sama what would you like to drink?" Setsuka asked Cain. She could hear the gasp from the waitress and a few of the customers.
"You know what I want."
Yeah you want to be annoying.
"Ah of course Ni-sama." Setsuka said as sweetly as possible. Looking at the menu she searched for the largest thing on the menu. Two can play this game. Turning back the waitress who had managed to get over the initial shock she ordered a large strawberry parfait and a cup of tea for him. She was going to have the macaroons and a cup of black coffee.
The waitress went to grab the menu and Kyoko hesitated. She was already balancing a tray of cups and plates that had not been organized in the best manner. However she managed to pick them up with dropping anything.
Once she was out of sight Cain let out a low growl. "How sly of you." Obviously he was angry but he had not eaten much for dinner so his was his punishment. She had to hold back from laughing. Who would have thought, dessert as punishment.
Setsuka tilted her head in confusion. "Didnt you know Oni-sama? There is nothing I enjoy more than watching you eat."
"Oh really?" The corner of his lips perked up and suddenly he seemed to have a mischievous idea. "Well now that I think about it your selections were not so bad, in fact I really liked the parfait. It looked delicious."
Setsukas eyes opened wide, rather Kyokos, "Didn't it? It looked so pretty!" She almost squealed. It was a pity that she was not going to be able to try it but at least she was going to be able to see it in person. She started to shake from the anticipation.
Soon enough there was a blond waiter in front of the table with tea, and similarly to the black haired man he also had no facial expressions.
"Anything else?" He asked in English.
Ah no wonder, she must have sent him. That makes sense but it is of no use to us. The last thing we needed is an English speaker.
Cain did not even flinch he just picked up his cup and took a sip as if he was not even there. Which did not seem to bother him either as he just went about with his work. After a brief awkward silence the Heel Siblings then started to engage in small talk about...the weather. Suddenly the waitress reappeared with a huge cup filled with cream, strawberries, layers of cake and two spoons. I repeat two spoons.
"Oh no I am so sorry I should have mentioned that the large parfait was enough for four people. I can take it back…"
Cain tapped the middle of the table loudly with his index finger and Kyoko just stared down at the spot. I was tricked!
Not looking up she was able to see the waitress place the parfait down with ease and left quickly to get the other dessert.
"Enjoy." She said with a bow.
Cain passed his sister a spoon and they both took a scoop. The minute the cream hit her mouth all the shame went away. It was so good! Taking another bite she could not help but fantasize about coming back with Moko-chan. Sharing a strawberry parfait with Moko-chan. Have Moko-chan feed her a spoonful! A giggle slipped out and she suddenly noticed that the waitress was just standing there staring with a very intriguing expression. Turning her face left toward window she noticed what had caught the waitresses attention. That was not a Setsuka expression. Well it was but that expression was reserved for Cain not dessert. Tsuruga-san must be so disappointed in her. Noticing her discomfort the waitress quickly left to attend another table.
"Ah" she sighed looking down "who knew that eating with Oni-sama would be his exciting." Feeling ashamed she discreetly placed her hands under the table and managed to knock down the fork to the floor. "Oh no!" She tried to bend down to pick it up with no avail. She scooted over and was about to exit the booth when he stopped her.
He insisted that he wanted to get it.
Reluctantly she agreed, huge mistake.
