A/N Hey, Foxen Socks here! So...that's actually just about all there is to say this time. Read and review. Thanks!
A slight mix up, chapter one.
By now, Artemis knew Star City like the back of her hand. She knew where different types of crime liked to show up, where the good coffee joints were, and, of course, where the zeta beam port was.
Which was why she was rather surprised when it appeared, blue and phone-boxy (not quite Robin level, but that wasn't her thing anyway) as always, two blocks closer than she'd expected.
Must be tired, was the only thought she gave the seeming memory slip as she set to going inside and beaming back to Gotham.
Or tried to anyway, because for some reason, she couldn't get in. Even after she'd done all the necessary steps to get the port open and up and running, the door remained locked.
So being the good superhero she was, she began to pick the lock.
"Doctor, just admit it, you've lost the TARDIS." Amy Williams Pond said crossly as they wandered through Star City.
"I haven't lost it," responded the bow-tie clad recipient of the statement, "she's just being difficult."
Amy huffed and rolled her eyes, turning to her husband. "I hate when he does this."
"You say that quite a lot." Rory pointed out.
"He does this quite a lot."
Rory shrugged as if to point out that there was nothing he could do and continued aimlessly following after the doctor, who was still poking around the street calling for "Sexy."
Amy let out a sound of annoyance rather like a growl. "Doctor how much longer is this going to take?"
"Relax Amy. We're in Star City; take a minute to enjoy. Look around, have some fun; if I remember correctly, there might even be some superheroes running around."
"Superheroes?" Rory blinked at the Time Lord.
"Yes. Superheroes are cool."
"Of course they are."
There was a brief bit of silence before Amy interjected- "You know; we still haven't gotten to Rio-"
"Here she is!" The Doctor cut her off without completely realizing, "You just love to cause trouble; don't you old girl?" He moved to open the door, only to find that it wouldn't open.
"Doctor?" Amy looked over to where the doctor was looking at what appeared to be the TARDIS in confusion.
"That's odd; it won't open." He pulled out his sonic screw-driver and aimed it at the door for a moment, before opening it and stepping inside. There was a moment before Amy and Rory heard, "Oh. That's why."
They shared a look before poking their heads into blue phone box behind him, and oh, that was most definitely why.
"It's not bigger on the inside." Rory said, eyes widening in surprise, just as Amy added, "This is not the TARDIS."
"No. No it's not. This," said the Doctor, patting one of the walls and beginning to sound excited, "is a Zeta Beam Port."
It didn't take Artemis long to pick the lock on the phone box, and she quickly pulled open the door, although there was some resistance (which was odd, considering the sign on the front said very clearly "Pull to Open") and stepped inside.
Then stepped outside and looked around, before poking her head back in, eyes wide.
"It's bigger on the inside."
She decided right then and there that she would never use the phrase "I'm a superhero; nothing surprises me anymore."
Then she did the only logical thing she could think of, stepping further inside. She turned her communicator back on and called the team.
"Guys, there's something you should seeā¦"
A/N So, not sure if I should leave this how it is or continue...
Oh! The reason why it was so easy for Artemis to pick the lock to the TARDIS is that, in reality, the TARDIS let her in.
Tell me what you think, the button's just down there. :)
