A/N: I know I'm slow at updates, I'm sorry guys! I'm working on two new stories which seem to have more persistent reviewers. If you're into Paranormal Activity or The Collector, go check out my stories- or if your into just horror romance in general 8)

ALSO, it may interest you guys that I am working on a Silent Hill cosplay for halloween and any conventions that may pop up. It's a Pyramid Head costume! I'm making the helmet and everything myself from scratch, so I dunno, when I'm done I might link some photos if you guys wanna see

But yes, I finally typed up chapter eight, it was rather fun to write. I'd have to say its my favourite part so far, lotsa drama and stuff. Read every bit and give me some reviews! C:

Chapter 8:

Heather

Was that what dying felt like?

I remembered a few occasions when a monster would catch me with my guard down, there would be pain, then black...then nothing. It was that type of feeling like you seemed to of woken up instantly but at the same time felt as though you had been gone for some time.

Of course, being in Silent Hill you learn to shrug off many weird things. But I never thought I would of died...several times apparently.

I can feel Valtiel staring at me expectantly, waiting for my reply. What should I tell him though? to be honest I was kind of disturbed by the fact I had died, am I like some sort of zombie now? I don't even know anything anymore.

Should I thank him? he did bring me back to life afterall, however the hell thats possible. But then again, it was strictly because of the orders from Claudia. So should I still be grateful?

"Cheryl..?"

I look back at him. "Thats uh...a pretty nice ability you have Valtiel. I just feel weird knowing i've...died..."

He nods "Yes, that is understandable."

"But...how do you do it?"

Valtiel lifts up his gloved hands and stares at them with a tilted head, then he shrugs. "I'm not really sure, a little bit of magic perhaps." then he lets out something on the lines of a chuckle and shakes his head.

I smile and laugh along as I awkwardly shift some sand with my boots. "Yeah well, should we get going then?" I ask.

"..Yes we shall."

...

"Valtiel, can I look now?"

"Oh no no, not yet."

"Why not?"

"Shh, just a little further."

I giggle as Valtiel leads me through an unknown area. After traveling across more roads he had covered my eyes for the surprise. Despite not being able to see a thing, I feel safe with Valtiel by my side.

"Can I trust you to keep your eyes closed for a moment?"

I nod as we stop and he moves his hand away, I keep my eyes shut obediently. Valtiel moves away from me and I hear shuffling, then the crinkling of plastic. What is he doing?

He is back before I have time to ask and he covers my eyes again as we begin to walk through the area once more. Thankfully its only a few more minutes before he stops us for what I'm hoping to be the surprise. I hear clicking and something that sounds like the pulling of a lever.

"Okay.." Valtiel murmurs quietly as he pulls his hand back from my face. "Open your eyes."

I obey his request and let my eyelids flutter open. I am greeted with the sight of a massive metal structure, the frame of a metal wheel with several seats attatched. Realisation hits me- Its a ferris wheel. A ferris wheel!

Memories from when I was young bubble to the surface as I stare at it. Dad used to take me on rides like these, although I always went on the small ones for kids. I can't even see how truly tall the wheel is because of the fog in the sky.

This must mean we are at the Lakeside Amusement Park, I realise. I haven't had the best memories in this place, but I don't think i've been to this side of it before and its lighter here today. It makes it less spooky than usual.

"I hope you don't mind coming here, but I found out not long ago that this thing can still opperate. And I thought you might find it interesting." Valtiel says, still behind me.

I turn around to face him, a grin spreading across my features. "Come on, we should hop on for a few spins!"

"Uhmm, well I suppose-"

I don't give him time to reply as the wheel turns and stops once more, I take Valtiel's arm and pull him over to the seat closest to the ground. After sitting down on one side of the cold metal chair I gesture to him to join me, and he does so hesitantly.

I pull the safety bar over in front of us and wait for the wheel to begin turning. Valtiel clutches the bar in surprise as the metal groans, the wheel turns and we slowly move upwards. I just smile and look at the view.

Valtiel shifts and I hear that ruffling plastic sound, as I glance over at him I see hes holding out a bag to me. My eyes widen.

"Cotton candy? I haven't eaten this in ages" I comment as I take the bag from him. "Thank you.."

"So it is edible then? good..." he replies as I tear off a piece of the pink cotton and put it in my mouth, smiling and nodding as it melted on my tongue.

The ferris wheel moves upwards again and I hold out the bag to Valtiel. "Do you wanna try some? its really good."

He flinches and tilts his head down at the bag, then hesitantly pulls off a small piece of cotton candy and stares at it for a moment. Then he does something I wasn't expecting. Valtiel bends his head to the side and lifts the candy up to a crease on the side of his head.

I feel my jaw drop as what looks to be a tongue slithers out of the crease and pulls the piece of cotton candy back. Holy shit. I had naturally assumed that the folds above his chin was his mouth but...I guess I was wrong. Its another reminder that he isn't human.

Valtiel

Cheryl is gawking at me as I take the small pink substance into my mouth. I suppose she hasn't seen where my mouth is placed yet. She closes her lips in an effort to appear calm, but I can see her shock.

It instantly turned to a mushy liquid in my mouth, the flavour doesn't interest me. I swallow it nonetheless to please Cheryl, and try not to think about the strange taste. I then turn back to her as the metallic wheel rotated.

"Was it...nice?" she asked, then let out a somewhat awkward giggle.

"Yes." I lie, hoping this would make her happy.

She nods thoughtfully, then smiles as she looks at the view. We watch it together silently, the only sound the occasional groan of metal from the wheel. After a moment a feel a small pressure on my gloved hand, and I look down slightly alarmed.

But its Cheryl's delicate hand resting atop of mine, whether it was intentional or not I'm not sure. She is still quietly admiring the sight. Every now and again a few strands of her short dirty blonde hair is pushed by the wind, flowing around her soft face gracefully. Her pink lips were parted ever so slightly, how I wished I had normal lips so I could...

Cheryl pulls the bar away from us as the wheel pushes our seat to the bottom. She jumps out and turns to me with a smile. I follow her, and we end up searching some of the old game huts where I find a peculiar looking stuffed rabbit. I showed it to Cheryl and she ended up somehow enjoying it, taking it with her as we left the amusement park.

"Thank you. For today I mean, I needed something to lift my spirits." She tells me softly as we walk along a road.

I nod to her in reply. It didn't seem like something very exciting to me, but judging by her smile, I'd say it pleased Cheryl.

After a moment of silence, she does something that throws me completely off guard. Cheryl slips one of her hands through one of my own, her delicate fingers weaving around my glove encased ones. I felt my heartbeat quicken, and my body tense as she slowed our walking.

Hesitantly, Cheryl shifts closer to me and leans up. Putting her weight onto her toes as to give extra height, her face moved towards mine. Her free hand is on my neck, encouraging me to turn my head to the side. And then...I feel soft lips press against the odd crease I call a mouth. If I had a jaw, it would have dropped. A kiss? I had learned this to be a human sign of affection. How...nice.

I pressed into her, wrapping my arms around her and pulling her in. I tried moving my lips on hers as a human would. I find myself in a haze, my instincts urging me to do much more. But I know I can't, not yet. She isn't ready.

I slowly pull away, unraveling my arms as she catches her breath. She rubs her neck and looks down. She looks nervous, how cute. Whilst she isn't looking I swipe my tongue across my lips, still able to taste her. I held back a groan.

Its a silence that she may of called awkward, but I saw as rather amusing. She looks up at my face a few times, then becomes shy and pretends to find interest in something else. Her eyes drift to my shoulder, where she stares for a moment then her eyes narrow in confusion.

"Valtiel...what is that?" she asks.

I tilt my head to get a better view of my shoulder, and saw the bullet hole left from that private detectives gun. Up close it must of been blatantly obvious. Cheryl is still looking at me expectantly, giving me a chance to explain myself.

"I must have hurt myself earlier, it's nothi-"

"Don't lie to me Valtiel, thats a bullet wound isn't it?" she demands.

I don't answer, rather watch her eyes as the pieces are being put together in her head. Bullets come from guns which only humans can operate, the only human in this town besides her was the detective, meaning I had come across the person she was looking for without telling her...meaning to her I was probably up to something and couldn't be trusted.

She stepped back abruptly, then takes several more steps away from me. "Douglas shot you? but why didn't you tell me? we were searching...I..."

"I couldn't have him taking you away, Cheryl." I tell her bluntly.

Cheryl's head shoots up, glaring at me in angered confusion. "Why?! I thought you were here to help me, Douglas was going to take me home! where is he?!" she shouts at me.

I tilt my head to the side, instinctive anger bubbling to the surface. I slowly stepped towards her, to which she stepped back, but I reached out quickly and grabbed her wrist in a firm grip.

"Think about it, Cheryl. If you really tried, you could of eventually found a way out on your own. This town has no hold on you anymore. Or perhaps it does...mentally. Do you really want to find him? I've seen your interactions, you can hardly stand that man. Are you going to continue using him as your excuse for staying a little longer? or are you going to tell me why you're really here!"

By this point, I'm twitching and shaking madly as Cheryl gawks at me. Her eyes are wide from a mixture of fear and shock, and her jaw is dropped, finding nothing to say.

"I...I don't know..." she mutters, staring at the ground and rubbing her forehead, seemingly panicking.

My anger fades as I look at her, fragile and confused. I release my grip on her arm and move forward to try comfort her. "Cheryl...I-"

"Stop it! just leave me alone!" she yells then moves away from me.

I found myself in a panic too as Cheryl began to run, towards the town and soon disappearing into the fog.

A/N: oooooo plot twist. What do you think will happen? why maybe does she kind of want to stay? will Val go after her, or will someone else find her first? tell me your thoughts, review and maybe leaves suggestions. remember feedback motivates writers to do their thing!

And yes! finally, a kiss. I've never really written this far into romance so that was a first- was it oookay? it was meant to be abrupt and short- better ones to come. Yes I stayed true to the game and placed Valtiel's mouth on the side of his head, I hope it pleased you 8)

Please review and tell me what you thought!
