Hey Lovies! I hope you enjoy this chapter. I know I might be quite rusty with my writing at the moment
However, as promised the next chapter... Enjoy!
Edward's POV
With all the self-control I had left, I turned away from Bella and hurried into my own room. I was very tempted just to hold onto her forever. I didn't realise how shaky I had become until it took me a couple of goes unlocking my door, as soon as I got in I let out a long unsteady breath that I wasn't aware that I was even holding. As I tried to comprehend what had just happened moments ago, my knees buckled, I slid down to the ground with my back against the front door. Still in my dream-like daze I closed my eyes, my lips still tingling from contact it made with her skin. Shivers crawled down my spine as my mind replayed the moment our lips touched over and over. The look in her eyes, the heat of her body pressed against mine, and her lips... Oh how they tasted so sweet. I could feel the electricity pulsing through us every time we touched, however, it was the kiss. The kiss ignited a flame, spreading like wildfire all throughout my body.
It wasn't until I started shivering from the cold that I knew I had to get rid of the rain soaked clothes that I had on. I stripped off my wet clothes and took a shower. As the water from the shower cascaded down my body, I started to reflect on the sudden events of the past week. I knew the logical part of me is trying to say that I am falling too hard and too fast for Bella, a girl that I had met merely 6 days ago. This part of me is also the one that fears that this is my way of dealing with what happened with... Tanya…. No! I slammed my fists against the wet tiles of the shower. Conflicted with my thoughts, I knew in my heart that Bella was something special, that this was definitely something more than just a rebound fling. I glanced over to the clock seeing that I didn't have much time left before dinner. Quickly shaking the thoughts out of my head and I started to get dressed.
Half an hour later, it hit me. I was definitely turning into a girl. I didn't realise how many outfits I had already tried on until I saw the giant pile of clothes that were scattered about my bed. I shook my head in disbelief, then looking back at the clothes that I had currently on; a navy button down shirt and a pair of black jeans. I was very tempted to ask Alice for her help, but quickly realised the only reason I hadn't was to avoid... well "Alice". I thought to that myself this will do, and headed towards Bella's room.
On my short walk there, I started to become very anxious at how Bella would react to all the date. As I arrived a bit earlier, I started to pace back and forth, nervous about what I was going to say, rehearsing lines over and over again, like a new actor auditioning for his first role.
I muttered to myself "This is ridiculous"
I realised I hadn't even brought her anything, no flowers, no nothing. Just as I was contemplating about running off to get her some flowers. Her door swung opened, it was as if an angel had fallen from the sky. Running my eyes down the length of her body, appreciating each and every curve that the green dress highlighted, both of us just stood there for what felt like hours admiring each others appearance. I tried to get words to come out my mouth, but I was so chocked up that everything I had rehearsed in my head previously had completely been forgotten.
I cleared my throat and tried again, Bella blushed darker as she realised that she had been caught. I chuckled at her, it was so easy to get her to blush, she was indeed the most beautiful create I had ever seen.
"Shall we?" Extending my arm so that she would hopefully accept.
Luckily she took it quickly before I had a chance to overthink, and with that I lead her towards the restaurant. The whole walk there, I couldn't take my eyes off of her. She would occasionally look up, we would make eye contact for split seconds before she bows her head down and blushing red with embarrassment.
The next time she wanted to look away I stopped her. "Hey, there's no need to be embarrassed. You look beautiful, stop turning away, otherwise I wouldn't be able to see that gorgeous smile of yours."
Her eyes widen at the comment I made as I continued to stare into her dark chocolate brown eyes. It was the perfect opportunity for me to lean in again to kiss her. I start inching in to meet her lips, but it was at this moment the hostess decides to show up.
She cleared her throat, making herself aware to both of us, as well as destroying the perfect moment that Bella and I were having. "Please follow me, I'll show you to the table." She huffed in an annoyed voice.
Oh boy, this was going to be a long night..
