And now, for the story itself!
Trunks and Krillin would continue to fly as Krillin kept his eyes focused on Trunks. The individual he had last seen when he was merely a baby had grown into quite the man, which was one thought in Krillin's mind at least. "Say Trunks...do you actually know where Dr. Gero's lab is?" Trunks turned his head to look towards Krillin for a moment. "Actually, I do. We discovered its location in the past thanks to my mother..."
Krillin nodded his head before looking forward. "So Bulma knew its location...in any case we should probably press on and make sure there aren't any more surprises, huh?" Trunks nodded his head some as the two blasted off even father towards a location that was hidden in one of the close by mountain ranges.
Gohan and Dende would appear on what was clearly a desolated lookout as Gohan began to take steps forward. "Damn...those androids really did a number on the lookout..." He'd mutter continuing to move forwards as Dende merely walked behind Gohan. "So Dende...how exactly does the process of you becoming Earth's Guardian work?" Gohan would ask as Dende was now walking side by side with him. "To be honest...I have no idea. Presumably it is a simple process...granted the process of actually recreating the Dragonballs would have been a tediously more difficult one."
Gohan was about to ask Dende what he meant when he noticed the physical form of a large black skinned male stood not far from them, and next to the large male was a frail green male stood next to him with a walking stick in one hand. Gohan began to run towards the two males as he waved one arm. "Hey Mr. Popo and Kami!" Gohan yelled out as the two noticed him and waited for himself and Dende to come closer to them.
Gohan suddenly came to a halt as he was panting for breath. Dende on the other hand came to a halt perfectly fine as he looked into the eyes specifically of Kami, some sort of mutual respect was shown between the two as fellow Namekians before being interrupted by Gohan's voice.
"I'm glad...you two are here...has Piccolo...been here?" Gohan asked with heaved breaths as Kami simply smiled and nodded his head. "He is alive and he was here earlier...until I almost asked him to let me fuse with him. Then he flew off in anger." Gohan seemed surprised by Kami's words as he looked towards Dende and then back to Kami. "And judging by the fact that you have a Namekian here with you I would assume you've come to the same conclusion as I."
Gohan tilted his head for a moment somewhat confused by Kami's words. "And judging on that look of yours you're confused Gohan. What I'm saying is that I should no longer be Earth's Guardian. Earth struggled under the tyranny of the Androids whilst I and Piccolo were dead and there was no Dragonballs. So it is my assumption this Namekian is to become my replacement?"
Gohan was still in shock of Kami's words as he slowly nodded his head. Dende decided to speak now. "That is correct. My name is Dende and Gohan has been my friend since he and Goku saved us from Frieza." Kami firmly nodded his head before turning around, his back to Dende and Gohan. "And I presume that you brought myself and Piccolo back to use the Dragonballs...fortunately I had Mr. Popo gather them during your absence." Kami turned his head around towards them. "Once the Dragonballs have been used I will transfer my ownership of the Dragonballs to your Namekian friend."
Gohan and Dende simply nodded their heads. "I was also hoping that you might teach me how to create fresh Dragonballs as well. The art of such has been lost on Namek since the death of Lord Guru." Dende would add as Kami smiled. "I would be honoured to teach you the old ways of our people young Dende. And in the meantime I shall take Dende with me in order to prepare him for the transfer, I suggest you begin making your wishes Gohan." And with that, Kami and Dende would begin to walk away towards the inner chambers of the lookout leaving Mr. Popo and Gohan to remain.
Meanwhile, Trunks and Krillin were still on route towards their destination. "So Trunks...what exactly can we expect to find at Gero's lab?"
Trunks didn't respond straight away but he noticed they were almost to the location. "Well I won't have to tell you, we're almost there." He said before pointing downward. And with that the two of them began to land at the spot Trunks had pointed out.
The two of them looked around before Krillin noticed the entranceway, it was clearly the right place because there were two giant metal doors were blasted open. Evidently when Androids 17 and 18 had originally escaped upon activation all those years ago. Not to mention all the moss that had begun to infest the place over the years.
"Man this place is a total mess. You sure this is the place?" Krillin asked as he looked to Trunks to be certain.
"It's definitely the place Krillin. So let's get in there, make sure there isn't any more dangerous things inside and then blow it up. Okay?" Trunks said, clearly on edge remembering this area from the past...Trunks shook his head some before moving forward. Krillin quickly followed behind as he could tell Trunks was on edge.
As they entered they quickly realised that there was barely any light, most of which was from the outside. But the little they could see was pure destruction, Krillin quickly noticed the deteriorated corpse of Dr. Gero. Trunks also noticed the corpse as well as the two of them covered their noses.
"So that's Dr. Gero..." Krillin said, though he knew of him he had never actually met the mad scientist so this was a first for him.
"Even though that corpse has clearly gone rotten...that's definitely Dr. Gero. Can't believe he actually made an android body just like himself...in the past that is." Trunks said as he began moving to avoid the smell.
"So let me get this straight...he put himself into an android body...of himself? I don't think I even want to know what else was different in the past." Krillin stated as he followed on behind Trunks as they made their way through the demented lair of Dr. Gero.
The two soon entered a room in the lair that appeared to have a giant computer along with three android like capsules. Which were designated with '13', '14' and '15'.
"More androids...it's a good thing we decided to check this place out. Wonder why they were never released..." Krillin said as he past the three capsules, noticing that there was a female in each of the pods. Noticing that caused Krillin to blush slightly. That was when Krillin came to a halt as he saw another female, this one however was in some kind of medical tube filled with some kind of liquid.
Trunks passed the three female androids and looked up at the female floating in the liquid filled tube. "Yeah...no kidding. Who knew there was four androids down here just waiting to be released." He briefly glanced back at the capsules remembering androids 13, 14 and 15 from the past...who were male. Clearly the past was vastly affected because the fourth female in front of them didn't even exist in the past.
"Y'know, I don't think this is an android Trunks. I mean look at her...she's so human." Krillin said with a continued blush on his face. The females in the capsules were clearly warriors, attractive but deadly much like 18. But the female in the tube, who was floating inside the tube without clothing on was vastly different. Muscular yes, yet something was strange about her. She also seemed to carry a distinct reddish mohawk style of hair and it reminded Trunks of android 16. Perhaps there was a connection there but he wasn't certain.
Trunks proceeded to check through the drawers nearby to see if there was any clues. "Don't forget that the androids look human Krillin. Don't be fooled by their looks." He said as he pulled out some papers, one of which was a blueprint of sorts that appeared to be for the female in the test tube.
There was written words on the paper, with a list of what appeared to be of animals and every some people. Written above the list was the word 'cells'. Trunks had a bad feeling about the whole thing.
Krillin however placed his hand on the glass. Despite the female's clear muscular build, she was also very attractive and had all the right curves that any man would like. "I know but...it's like I can sense ki energy from her. You know Androids don't emit that."
Trunks could tell Krillin was at least right about that. But he still had an uneasy feeling, especially seeing the words 'Project Chimera'. Neither of them would know it but this individual was actually the prototypes of both android 16 as well as Cell. "I can as well but-"
Before Trunks could finish his sentence the eyes of the female in question opened up and within moments there was a flash of white light as Krillin and Trunks were sent flying backwards from a small explosion, most likely from the female powering up.
The individual stepped forward looking about herself. She then looked towards Trunks and Krillin as she spoke. "Initializing programming. Objective: Eliminate Goku." Was all she said as energy balls began to build up in her hands as she glared at the two in front of her.
Trunks and Krillin quickly got to their feet. "Definitely an android Krillin. Let's deal with this." Trunks said as Krillin nodded his head and they both fired energy attacks at the female. The female retaliated with her own attacks as the dust subsided and Trunks and Krillin were surprised.
The female however didn't even flinch as she grasped at her own head. "Grrgh...must...kill...Gero..." She shook herself about before blasting an energy attack at the ceiling before flying out of the cavern lair of Dr. Gero. Trunks and Krillin were still speechless as they realised they had released an unknown threat onto the world.
"Damnit...she was definitely an android. But that last thing she said before escaping was strange. Then again...these androids always seem to be so rebellious when it comes to Gero too..." Trunks said looking towards Krillin who he was clearly concerned about. There was a glint in the bald man's eyes that showed he was intrigued by the individual they had just allowed to escape.
"Krillin, snap out of it. We'll have to deal with that problem at another time. Let's quickly finish looking through here and blow it up. We can't allow those other androids to become active, got it?!"
Krillin did snap out of it as he looked at Trunks and realised that he had hesitated at destroying the female that was apparently an android. "Y-yeah...I got it." With that the two began to search the rest of the lair, finding several more blueprints as well as a blown up test tube. Neither of them knew but this was the test tube for the creature known as Cell.
Shortly afterwards, the two left the lair before using their energy attacks to blow the entire cavern lair up. After doing so the two of them flew off to return back to Capsule Corporation. Unbeknownst to them however, the three androids that had been in capsules had survived as three figures stood amongst the rubble.
As Trunks and Krillin were flying away from the destroyed cavern lair, Krillin looked towards Trunks to speak. "So what exactly are we going to tell the others?" He said gulping slightly knowing it was his fault.
"Krillin. Before I answer that I want to know why you hesitating in attacking that android. I could sense your hesitation...so why Krillin? Why did you not attack with your full power?"
Krillin was surprised that Trunks could sense that, but he wasn't going to deny his actions. "I...I don't know Trunks. I guess because...she was pretty?"
Trunks shook his head some. "So what you're saying is...because you have a crush? Honestly. That kind of thinking is going to get yourself and everyone else killed. Regardless we can't think about what has already happened. With regards to the others...we'll tell them an android escaped. There isn't much else we can tell them. But if we encounter her again...promise me you'll do what needs to be done Krillin."
Krillin gulped once more. "I understand. I promise you I won't hesitate again. You're right, she's an android and needs to be dealt with."
The two nodded in agreement before powering up and flying even faster in their direction as they headed back towards Capsule Corporation.
Back at the lookout Gohan stared down at the seven Dragonballs as Mr. Popo spoke up. "Aren't you going to summon Shenron Gohan?" Said the large black individual.
Gohan paused and didn't reply immediately. "I should. But then I remembered that Tien and Chiaotzu have already been wished back before...and it would be silly to just revive Yajirobe. So we may have to ask the Namekians when their Dragonballs are restored."
Mr. Popo merely nodded his head before noticing that Kami and Dende had begun to exit the lookout's interior. As he did he spoke up and turned towards them. "You've returned Kami and Dende. Is the process complete?"
"It is done. Dende is now the rightful owner of Earth's Dragonballs and as such...it's new guardian. I also see that you didn't use the Dragonballs Gohan, I assume you have your reasons for not using them right now though." Kami stated.
"I think I know why but...I should be able to make adjustments to make your eternal dragon more powerful. I may even be able to make it so Shenron can bring those back to life who have died before...that's the reason you didn't summon him I assume." Dende said looking towards Gohan who was still staring at the Dragonballs.
Gohan simply nodded his head. "Yeah...something to that affect. That and Shenron can only grant one wish...are you able to make it so he grant three wishes?"
Dende thought on this for a moment. "It's possible, yes. But I can't make any promises. But I will try my best, I promise."
"So what will you do now Kami? I recall you mentioning that you were going to fuse with Piccolo but that he declined..." Gohan asked as he tried to shift his thoughts onto something more positive.
"Yes...that was something I mentioned. If I know Piccolo like I believe I do...he will return. He knows how powerful we would have been had we merged years ago. We could have defeated the androids and the Earth may very well have been at peace. As such I will wait here on the lookout and if he chooses to I will merge with him." Kami said with a smile.
Back at Capsule Corporation Krillin and Trunks landed as they entered the building. "Mom, we're back." Trunks shouted out as Bulma revealed herself with a smile.
"I see that, but I sense that you have troubling news as well Trunks." Bulma said looking at her son.
Trunks didn't expect his mother to say that. Had he become so two dimensional that he was that readable to his mother, then again she had always been able to read him so he shouldn't have felt that surprised by it.
"Well...we discovered some more androids and while we destroyed the lab along with those androids...there was one that managed to escape."
Bulma heaved a slight sigh. "Deary me. I'm not sure what to say to you Trunks and especially you Krillin. But we'll just have to deal with that problem when we get to it."
Vegeta was listening to them talk as he opened his mouth. "So what you're telling me is that you allowed one of those bastards to escape? And you call yourself my son?" Vegeta was clearly disappointed showing that he was still the prideful prince Trunks had met in the past.
"Vegeta that's enough. I didn't wish you two back so you could argue with each other. I brought you back because I love you both so much." Bulma said looking towards her husband.
Vegeta couldn't say anything back to Bulma, knowing how long his wife had been without him as well as the time they shared on the way back from Namek he just...stayed silent.
Trunks was certainly surprised by his father's actions and he was relieved by that as he looked towards his mother. "Regardless, what do we do now? I mean besides helping the people of the Earth to rebuild and recover from the androids?"
Bulma was seemingly happy that Trunks had asked her that question. "I'm glad you asked Trunks. It occurred to me after you were killed and the time machine was stolen that there could be other individuals who have time travelled and possibly disrupted the timeline...or timelines. To that end I have been working on my revisions to the time machine to establish a means of finding what I call...anomalies in time. For the purpose of fixing time."
Vegeta simply didn't understand a word his wife had said before walking away. Trunks mostly understood but Krillin wasn't following Bulma at all.
"I guess I'll leave you guys to work on that then...I'm going to check on the guys at Kami's lookout." Krillin muttered and with that Krillin darted out of Capsule Corporation and flew off before Bulma or Trunks could say anything to him.
"Well, he was certainly quick about that. And your father is clearly uninterested. But I know if we can do this Trunks we can make sure people don't fiddle with time and destroy people's lives. So, will you help me son?" Bulma asked with curiosity.
Trunks nodded his head. "Of course mother. If we can continue to help people then I know that we have to do whatever we can. I want to know what happened to the others in the past but...without knowing how to get to them and not some other version of them...we need to improve our understanding of time travel."
"I'm glad you agree with me Trunks. And you're right, if we don't improve our understanding we could end up flinging ourselves into another version of history. But if we're ever able to travel into our own past...and not an alternate version. You must promise me that you will not do anything stupid, the consequences could be...disastrous." Bulma said, as she stared at Trunks.
"I promise mom." Trunks said as the two began to walk further into Capsule Corporation to begin their work. Unaware of what their future endeavours may bring about, but also knowing that they had a mission to complete.
THREE YEARS LATER, AGE 792
Trunks entered into his mother's main lab as he noticed she was sat down at her computer and seemingly working away at whatever it might have been she was working on. He knew it was probably time travel based since that seemed to be the nature of their work these days. It had been three years since Trunks and the rest had been revived too, during that time many other individuals were restored to life by the Dragonballs, even Piccolo had fused with Kami. So much had happened in those three years it was still so strange to think about.
Whilst Trunks was stood thinking upon all of this, he heard the voice of his mother who had noticed him just standing there. "Good morning son, why don't you come over here? There are some things I have to explain to you before your trip today."
Trunks looked up as he listened to his mother talk. "My...trip? Wait...do you mean everything is prepared for the new time machine?" Trunks asked this as he made his way over to where his mother was sat, leaning over to see the computer screen.
"Yes dear, that's correct. But if you look closely at the screen you'll notice what I call the timeline diagram. I've worked out that there are at least 100 different versions of historical events. Most of which seem to be mostly the same aside from odd differences." Bulma stated before pointing to one of the timeline designations. "For example, this is the timeline you travelled to, where you saved Goku's life...or well one of them. It appears that at least two timelines exist where you gave Goku the medicine...I imagine one of them exists because of the creature that stole your time machine."
Bulma then pointed to another timeline. "And this one, deviates very differently. I say that because it depicts that Goku never defeated Frieza on Namek...and everyone else was eliminated by Frieza's family including his brother that your father defeated. I suppose you could say it's a timeline where the Frost Demons reign...that reminds me. That's the name I learned is Frieza's race at least according to Grand Elder Moori from Namek."
Trunks stared at the screen as his mother explained herself. "I see...I never knew time travel had such complexities to it. But what exactly does this have to do with this trip you say I'm to take today?"
Bulma smiled looking at her son. "I'm glad that asked Trunks. You see I've refined the time machine to travel through a set specific timeline, be it ours or another timeline. Previously the time machine would instead punch a hole in time and inadvertently create a new timeline as a result. If I had understood these mechanics before, our own timeline would have been the timeline that would have been changed...which is dangerous as some changes can affect time in ways that I still don't quite understand."
"That being said..." Bulma paused as she scrolled downwards before pointing to yet another timeline. "This is approximately age 243 in our timeline of events. Where a time anomaly exists that shouldn't exist...I've refined the anomaly to have first been created in age 737 when Frieza destroyed Planet Vegeta. Instead of being killed, Goku's father was sent back in time to age 238 where he seems to have cause certain events to occur. So I'm essentially telling you we need to bring Goku's father to his death in age 737 and ensure he well...dies."
Trunks was taken aback by his mother's words. "I had no idea this was going to be part of our job description...and who exactly is Goku's father?"
Bulma had a stern look. "Believe me, I don't like the idea of it but...his father...Bardock that is should not have been sent back in time. History states he died with his planet. We need to ensure historical events are maintained."
"But mom...by that extension don't we need to remove myself from that other timeline? Or the creature that used the time machine? Those two incidents alone are anomalies aren't they?" Trunks questioned, bringing up an important point.
"Technically...yes. But those anomalies according to this resolved themselves. You returned to your own timeline...twice. Goku and the others defeated that creature, or well more accurately Gohan did. Goku's father however has remained displaced...and alive. Does that make more sense?" Bulma asked.
Trunks nodded his head. "That makes more sense. I will begin making preparations for the trip then." With that Trunks turned around and began to make his way out of his mother's lab, but not before grabbing a piece of technology from his mother's workbench. It specifically was stealth technology that Trunks felt would be useful to keep himself and the time machine hidden when he returned Bardock to his correct time period...or so he hoped. He then proceeded to leave for where he knew the time machine was waiting outside.
As Trunks began to make his way out from the Capsule Corporation building, or that is to say the Time Agency's Headquarters. The purple haired Half-Saiyajin stood there for a few moments feeling the wind pass through his now shortened hair, a feeling that was weird to feel after so long. He was still conflicted on the idea of taking Goku's biological father to his death, even if that's what history wrote.
The idea that Goku's father was alive at all was still something he found hard to digest.
That was when the wind began to pick up as Trunks caught the glimpse of the rising sun, and some ways off was the back of his father Vegeta. There were so many thoughts going through Trunks' head and he wasn't sure what to say or do right now, at least until he heard the sound of his father's voice speak to him.
"So. You're leaving aren't you?" The proud Saiyajin who continued to wear his prideful Saiyajin armour whilst turning his head slightly to look at his son.
"Yes..." Trunks said bringing himself to a pause. He knew his father was well aware of his mission, but he wondered how Vegeta felt about the situation and yet he was afraid to even say a word.
Vegeta heaved a heavy sigh as he turned his head forward, as he spoke. "You're conflicted about what to do with Kakarot's father, aren't you?" Vegeta stopped for a moment and then fully turned around to face Trunks. "You know that he is a full blooded Saiyajin and alive and you are conflicted on if it's right to send him to his death."
Trunks slowly nodded his head. "Yeah. I know how much you don't like Goku...but is it right for us to decide if he's thrown to his death because history says he should be? But at the same time...anomalies as mom calls them could be dangerous to the timeline..."
Vegeta could see it in his son's eyes and placed his hand on Trunks' shoulder. "I never met Bardock personally. But whatever you decide to do my son, I will honour it." Vegeta then let go before facing away from Trunks.
Trunks was almost bewildered by the reaction of his father. This man that he called father, was nothing like the man he had met in the past. Perhaps the events on New Namek had hit Vegeta hard, Trunks couldn't be certain.
"You had better get a move on. And don't you dare tell anyone about what I just said...I have a prideful reputation to uphold with Kakarot's group." Vegeta grumbled folding his arms.
Trunks smiled for a moment, he could now see why his mother had fallen in love with his father for the first and probably only time in his life. He merely nodded his head as he walked past Vegeta and made his way towards the new and improved time machine his mother had created. He lifted his right hand up slightly, in it was the device that he had taken from his mother's workshop and he knew exactly what it was capable of.
He placed the device back into his pocket before placing his hand up against the time machine, unlike the original that had the word 'Hope' written upon it, this one had the word 'Peace' written on it. The original of course was designed to bring hope to a broken future, this one was designed with the intention of bringing peace to all. Trunks then leapt upwards landing inside of the ship and pressing buttons to close the ship's hatch and prepare for the trip.
Within moments, Trunks had inputted the co-ordinates in time and space as the ship began to rise upward into the air as it prepared to time jump. And just as quickly as it had risen, it vanished into thin air. Vegeta simply stood looking upward at where the ship had previously been.
"Good luck, my son." The prideful Vegeta muttered before turning around and making his way towards the building where his wife, Bulma was still working at. Vegeta could not fully comprehend all of the technicalities that Bulma had explained to himself and Trunks. How anyone could be expected to understand that reality is split into many different paths of what if scenarios. Or that there were things called anomalies within these paths that could potentially do harm. Or the fact that the father of his only rival was alive in the past, it baffled him. But life had to go on, there was still much to be done in regards to Earth after all. In that moment, Bulma noticed Vegeta's gloomy atmosphere and embraced him.
SOMEWHERE IN SPACE, AGE 243
As quickly as the time machine had vanished, it reappeared in the midst of space somewhere close to a large unknown planet. He began to tap one area of the console that presented Trunks with a locator device. "This must be the detector my mom mentioned...it reminds me of the fabled Dragon Radar."
Trunks quickly touched several more areas of the console as he proceeded with the landing of the ship on what appeared to be a strange planet. Even the ship's computer had no idea where they were, which meant it was an area of space outside of any known solar system. Little did Trunks know that the planet in question was Planet Yardrat.
Trunks pulled himself out from the ship before turning it back into its capsule form and raising the 'anomaly detector' in front of him. "I guess I just need to follow this until I find Goku's father...I wonder what he's like..." With that Trunks began to walk in the direction the locator device was taking him.
After walking for some time, Trunks was confronted by several aliens that seemed to look familiar to him but he couldn't figure out just why. The aliens surrounded him, curious if you will of just what Trunks wanted. Trunks wasn't sure what to do or how to react until another individual appeared, but this individual caused a look of shock to appear on Trunks' face as he slowly put the anomaly radar away.
The individual in question was a stern man with black hair that spiked in multiple directions but there were two distinct features about this man. A dual cross scar on his left cheek as well as a red headband across his forehead. He was also clad in Saiyajin armour, not only that but he also had a tail wrapped around his waist.
Trunks slowly took a step back, as it also hit him on who these mysterious aliens were also. The uniforms they wore...Goku had been wearing that when he returned to Earth. Which meant that these aliens were in fact the Yardrat. "G-goku...?"
The Yardrats just tilted their heads about in confusion as the other individual responded. "I don't know who you are or who this 'Goku' is but I think you need to leave." The stern individual who spoke gripped his fists slightly as he got defensive towards Trunks.
Trunks allowed himself to relax some because it was silly for him to think this was Goku. He knew Goku was dead and that this man could only be one person, Goku's father. A sense of confidence came to Trunks' face as he spoke. "I apologize, you look like someone I know. But that being said I do know who you are, Bardock."
The one Trunks had referred to as Bardock was caught off guard as the Yardrats looked towards him and then back to Trunks. "I'm not entirely sure how you know my name kid, but you definitely aren't from around here. So tell me, what exactly are you here for?"
Trunks smiled. "You're right, I'm not from around here. And neither are you, which is why I'm here. I came from the future to take you back to the moment you were supposed to be killed by Frieza. So I'll only ask one time, will you come with me. Bardock?"
Bardock quickly became even more defensive even shifting his stance. "So let me get this straight, you expect me to just up and die because what? You think I should be dead?" Bardock was ready to fight for his life if he had to after all. "Give me a break. I'm not coming with you and I'm certainly not going to just let Frieza kill me." With that Bardock launched himself forward as he prepared to attack Trunks head on.
Trunks shifted his stance as well as he prepared himself for Bardock's imminent attack. "Mark my words Bardock. I will defeat you and you will come with me to your death." As he said that as he crossed his arms as Bardock's fist slammed into his blocked arms. "And let me tell you I take no pleasure in this."
So as the fight between Bardock and Trunks begins, who will be the victor in this fight? But more importantly, will Bardock be forced to die at the hands of Frieza? Or is Trunks over his head and about to be taken out by the legendary Saiyajin, Bardock. The father of Goku?
Thanks so much for reading the sixth chapter of Dragonball Z: Universe X I hope you've enjoyed it!
I hope to have Chapter Seven: Bardock vs. Trunks up as soon as possible, I've been in quite the DB writing mood lately. It's certainly the chapter you've all been looking forward to.
Chapter Six: (Completed On: 08/01/16)

Author's Notes: I just wanted to point out some of the characters shown in the chapter as well as other tad bits of information. Firstly, I know that Universes are a canon thing due to Battle of Gods and I intend to include that within the story but one thing that will eventually be explained is how there are timelines to individual universes. Though Bulma in this chapter somewhat explains it.
On that subject, we have 'four' androids mentioned in this chapter. The first three are Androids 13, 14 and 15. Now these were included to be somewhat of a minor antagonist for Bardock when he becomes what you might call the main protagonist of the story alongside Trunks. 13, 14 and 15 however are being made as female androids in this story since I felt there was too many male characters overall so adding in powerful females feels more of a balance.
And then of courseā¦the fourth android. Now in terms of story, she is actually the biological sister of 17 and 18. And as a result is also the original 16. My explanation is that she is killed/dies in the canon timeline and is replaced with the 16 we know. And if you hadn't guessed, Krillin's future lover taking the place of 18. Of course she is an original creation of mine and is as Bulma states the predecessor to Cell.
In regards to story contents, there are many things I had considered doing as far as this chapter as well as content relating to future chapters that I now realise do not work. Such is the factor of Earth's Dragonballs. I know that skipping that portion of content was a poor move on my part but I honestly wasn't sure how to go about that.
That being said, I am very keen to begin the next chapter since it will focus almost entirely on Trunks and Bardock on Yardrat. The significance of that location may or may not be noticeable to everyone. I also am still working on certain explanations but hopefully these will unravel themselves as the story continues, but that's also why plot holes occur.
I must apologize though that this chapter is much shorter than the previous chapters, I simply wished to focus on the bulk of the fight between Bardock and Trunks in the next chapter rather than tacking it onto the end of this chapter and thus why it's shorter. To make up for this, the next chapter is going to be a lot longer. :)
