Anika's POV:

I hugged Piper tighter and she let out another loud sob.

"I thought we had something special!" Piper exclaimed. "But he loves Alice, not me!"

"Shh," I soothed. "Jason's insane, so why do you care? Would you honestly want him as a boyfriend?" Piper sniffled.

"No," she admitted. "But I just can't help but think of-"

"Don't!" I said. "Honestly, I know nothing about love. I just know that dating psychopaths is not fun and is advised against." I grinned.

"Thanks for that advice," Piper laughed. "I just feel like getting out of camp for a few days, you know?"

"Can't help you there," I said. "But we can sit at the bottom of the hill and act like normal kids."

"This sounds promising," Hazel mused, plopping down beside me. "I would love to act like a normal teenager."

"You should bring Frank, Cap," Piper giggled.

"Cap?" Hazel tilted her head slightly, like a lost puppy. "Is she calling me a hat?"

"I believe she means Captain America dearie," Sadie explained, joining the conversation. "And count me in, on the hill thing. Being a magician isn't exactly a vacation."

"We can recruit later," I said. "Right now, we need to just talk like normal people. So, what do you think of One Direction?"

"Who?"

Annabeth's POV:

I went into Alice's new room to check on her. I could hear the Hephaestus kids hammering away on fixing the huge hole in the Big House. Good thing strawberry sales were picking up, or this camp would be neck-deep in debt.

"Hey," Percy said softly, joining me by Alice's side. "You still angry?"

"No," I sighed, leaning in to him. He wrapped an arm around my waist, and despite everything that was going on, I smiled.

"Good," Percy murmured. His head bent down to press a kiss on top of my head. "I got an IM from Chiron. He's on Olympus talking to the gods-both Greek and Egyptian-about how to proceed now that the world's know about each other. He was upset about Jason, but something tells me he knew this was going to happen."

"Prophecy?" I asked, blinking sleepily.

"Probably," he replied. "It sucks, you know? He's my cousin. And this-this life drove him to the point of insanity. Makes me think how long I have before-"

He was interrupted by me punching him in the chest.

"Don't," I snapped. "Don't you ever, ever talk like that again, or I swear to gods-"

"What happened?"

Percy and I turned to see an awake Alice rubbing her eyes with her fists like a toddler.

"A bolt of magic hit you," I answered. "You were in a coma-a real quick one. Jason went cray-cray, blew up part of the Big House nearly killing you and Carter, so now he's locked up in the attic. The demigods and magicians have reached an understanding of sorts. At least I think so. I mean, we're not killing each other so I assume it means we have an understanding."

"Oh," Alice muttered, looking overwhelmed. Her upper teeth grabbed hold of her bottom lip, chewing on it as she processed the information presented to her. It had to be an Athena thing, for I did it too.

"Is Alice any bet-" Sadie cut herself off, blinked and grinned. "Glad you're awake. The girls and I have been planning a night where we can all act like regular teens. We're gonna sit at the bottom of Half-Blood Hill with blankets and watch the stars. You in?"

Instead of answering, Alice inquired, "Where's Carter? Is he okay?"

Sadie's broad grin turned into a smirk. "Just dandy. He's resting, or at least he's supposed to be. He got some nasty cuts and burns, but nothing Jaz couldn't heal. Still has some smoke in his lungs though, so he'll need to drink lots of water."

"I'm in," said Alice. "Now, can I change into something more cheerful than these torn pieces of fabric?"

"Let's go find something fabulous for you to wear," Sadie gushed, assisting Alice out of bed. They were out of the room before I could protest, Sadie saying "Did you know Drew is here?"

British people.

Jason's POV:

I started banging on walls, screaming, screaming….

"Alice!" I screamed. "Piper! Reyna!" Something caught my eye. An axe! Perfect. I grabbed it and started hacking. Why wasn't it working!? I yelled in frustration and resorted to pounding on the walls, tables, stuffed animals. A window! YES! A way out of here. I peeked through. A bunch of kids were leaving camp, among them Percy, Annabeth and Alice! My sweet, sweet Alice was with them, her blond hair in a braid. She was laughing at something someone had said. The ever so lovely Piper was there too, a blanket with little hearts on it tucked under her arm, and the beautiful Reyna talking to Hazel….I licked my lips hungrily and smashed the window with my fist. Campers screeched, horrified and I laughed, throwing my head back, oblivious to the glass shards protruding from my fist, or the blood seeping from my wounds. I did not feel the pain. I only felt free, free to do whatever the Hades I wanted. The minute I get to those girls I'm going to mark my territory, I thought, they are mine! And no one can stop me!

I jumped out of the window, praying the winds would help me. But they didn't….

Maybe they were right. Maybe I was insane.

Too late now. I'm pretty sure I'm dead.

Alice's POV:

The night had been going just fine until Jason committed suicide.

Carter and I had been hitting it off, cracking jokes. Sadie was talking about British boy bands with Anika, Piper, Jaz and Alyssa. The demigods and magicians were socializing. I felt at peace, my two halves no longer fighting to be dominate. I was grinning, laughing.

Then the window shattered.

I could only watch as Jason fell down, down, down. His body hit the grass with a multitude of sickening cracks threatening to make me lose my dinner.

I shouted out his name and made to run towards his limp body. Perhaps I could save him. Perhaps I could finally put my magical training to use and heal both his body and mind.

"Alice, don't!" Percy yelled, grabbing me by my waist.

"Let me down!" I screamed, fighting against him as tears streamed down my face. "I can save him. I-I can save him. Please, let me save him." Percy looked at me, then back at Jason. His grip tightened.

"I'm sorry Alice, but I can't let you." He sighed and handed me over to the girls, who held me back.

"No!" I exclaimed. "LET ME GO! I CAN SAVE HIM! I-I can do it, I can save him, just LET ME GO!" Piper hugged me, her grip so tight I thought my lungs might burst. I fought them, twisting my body back and forth. But as soon as one pair of hands let go, a new one replaced them. I had to get to Jason. Didn't they understand? I had to save him! This was nothing like Silena, or Luke, or anything ever before! I had to save Jason. Will Solace walked over to Jason and pronounced him dead.

"NO!" I fell to my knees. "I could've saved him. It's my fault, it's ALL my fault."

"Yeah," Leo said sarcastically, helping me up. "If you hadn't been born so damn attractive, maybe Jason would still be sane!" I let loose a sob and Annabeth scowled.

"That didn't help," she hissed, putting a hand on my shoulder. I jerked away and ran to Jason.

"Don't die," I pleaded. "You're still alive. Your name is Jason Grace, you're a son of Jupiter, and I-I love you. And you're alive! So wake up, gods dammit, WAKE UP!" I shook Jason's body. "You're not dead. Wake up. Please, wake up for me. For Alice, wake up for Piper, and Reyna, and Hazel, and Percy, and Leo, and please, wake up." He didn't wake up. He just laid there, limp, lifeless and still bleeding. His head was at an awkward angle. I couldn't bear to look at him anymore. I got up and rushed into the woods, where I was met with silence.

Crickets chirped. That was it. Nothing but crickets and silence. The cool breeze wrapped its arms around me. I shivered and fell to the ground. The stars. I could see the stars. They looked really pretty, twinkling and shining brightly in the night sky. Sky. Jason. No! No more thinking of Jason. I screamed, just to ruin the horrible, terrifying silence. Silence gave me too much time to think. I prayed the crickets chirped louder, the owls hooted more often, the sounds of night would get too much to bear…. I needed it. It would put my mind off….NO! Do not think about him. He's gone. Dead. I cried, rolling over on the green grass. Dead. Dead.

Dead.

Dead.

Dead.

And there was nothing I could do about it.

Piper's POV:

The funeral was short and draining. A simple coffin, a few words from various people, 30 seconds of silence, and then we were done. We burned the burial shroud soon after.

Alice was a mess. She barely spoke to anyone….except Carter. They were almost always together. It was sweet. They helped each other through the nightmares. Everything was slowly going back to normal. Until, one night…

It was about a month after Jason's death. All of us, everyone who had ever met Jason had the same dream.

It was dark, the only light coming from the flames that licked the stone walls. Fields of Punishment. Someone's own personal cell. A man stood in the center, his skin torched black, his eyes tinted red with madness. Tufts of scorched blond hair rested on his head as he struggled to be free of the chains tying him down. Jason.

"I'm coming back," he muttered. "I'm coming back." Evil laughter followed as the flames rose and reached for him. Only his head was visible. Once blue eyes stared at us with such an intensity-

We all woke up, drenched in sweat, questions pounding on our brains with hammers, working away until it hurt to think.

Was it true?

Had our brains lied?

Was Jason really coming back?

And if so, what was he coming back as?

Annabeth's POV:

Some days, I wish we'd never found about the other gods. It had brought us so much pain and suffering. But there's a war coming. The biggest war of all, making Gaea look like child's play. And all of us, magicians and demigods alike are going to have to fight in it.

It's unlikely any of us are going to come out alive.

Especially Alice. Why her? Because she's at the center of war. She's the reason this war is going to happen. And when it does…

The world will be in big trouble.

Oh, what a mess we've made.

Madeline: *walks out onto stage in shimmering aqua floor-length dress* And there you have it, ladies and gents! The last chapter of… *notices the audience is empty except for the fictional characters living inside her head* Where is everyone?

Percy: You do realize you never told your readers where and when this was happening right?

Leo Valdez: And you have a thing with forgetting disclaimers.

Madeline: *frowns* Do not! I do them at the end of each chapter!

Piper: Well, this is being read by your readers. Not the same, but you can still get the message through.

Madeline: *grins* I knew there was a reason I liked you. *turns to camera* Yes, the Other Gods rewrite is over!

Audience:*claps*

Madeline: Well then. I thought you would be sad but…

Audience: *realizes its mistakes and starts booing*

Madeline: Much better! Anyway, the second book, Book 2: What a Mess We've Made (much better title, don't you think?) is still undergoing work. While that is being written, I will be releasing one-shots and working on some other stories. A new one, titled Black Rose. An old one, titled Your Destiny Awaits, and another old one titled How Messed Up Is the World? which is new to this site. And a musical and some parodies!

Audience: *cheers*

Madeline: Yes, yes. BOW DOWN UNWORTHY MORTALS!

Audience: *silent*

Captain America: Aren't you a mortal?

Madeline: Yes, but I'm a worthy one.

Percy: I'm not mortal.

Madeline: Half.

Thor: I'm not mortal.

Poseidon: Neither am I.

Percy: DADDY!

Madeline: Just shut up! I CONTROL YOU!

Leo Fitz (not nasty Ezra Fitzgerald from PLL, cool Leo Fitz from AoS): I've got this. *pulls out Night-Night gun and uses it on Madeline*

Madeline: *collapses*

Jemma Simmons: Nicely done Leo.

Leo Fitz: Why thank you.

Annabeth: Well, bye. Also, Madeline does not own anyone in this author's note or in the story except Alice.

Hermione: Review, favorite. Favorite and follow Madeline.

Giles: Read some of Madeline's other work as well.

Buffy: So, who's taking her home?

Anya: I think the real issue here, is how do we sign off?

Buffy: Anya! Aren't you dead?

Anya: Yes, but Madeline thinks I'm awesome and finds my fear of bunnies amusing so I'm alive, but only in her mind.

Piper: I know how to sign off.

Giles: *cleans glasses* How?

Leo Valdez: Like this, stuffy old British man.

~Madeline, Percy, Leo Valdez, Piper, Captain America, Thor, Poseidon, Leo Fitz, Jemma Simmons, Hermione, Giles, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Anya

Percy: How come Buffy gets her title?

Leo Valdez: How come my last name is there? And there!

Hermione: Buffy is awesome, and there are two Leos. Duh.

Percy: Well then.

Hermione: That was a really long author's note. *turns to camera* Now to shut this off-

THE END!
