The licker was one of the earliest human trials, and one of my favorites. Me and the ones locked up underground used to have races, climbing contests, and we had also become bonded. They were just teh result of a bad accident. Or that's how I classified them.

The others?

Saw them as monsters. They would also see me as a monster. They fear what they don't understand.

"Who are you?" The woman asked, pushing hair from her face. Her eyes watching me cautiously. I smirked and held out my hand.

"The name's Sarah Black." I said. the woman didn't shake my hand back. I glared and walked away from her. "You would do well to stay away from any open areas."

"What about you?" She asked.

"I know how they hunt, they can't hurt me." I said, she could see that I was telling the truth. I sat on one of the pews and waited. Mom should be making her grand entrance. As soon as I thought that, the sound of a motorcycle grew louder, making the others in the building look around. I stood up just as Alice broke into the room.

I made sure she didn't see me right away. I wanted to surprise her. She must have been so worried about me, not. She's the one who left me, I can't stand that she didn't come back for me. Matt was so much more important. My eyes glazed over and my human ears vanished, my claws and fangs grew longer, and my body more muscular. Red dampened my vision.

I heard, rather then saw a licker dive for me, I heard myself hiss as I turned and slashed downward, slicing through tendon, muscle and bone. the licker didn't die though. I jumped up and grabbed onto a piece of the wall, climbing, making the licker chase me down. Getting to the middle of the ceiling, I dropped, waiting for the attack.

The roar the licker made was loud, and then it pounced. At the same time I jumped up and slammed my claws into the exposed brain of the licker, killing it for sure. I twitched as the sound of multiple guns clicking, my claws and fangs shrunk, my cat ears going back to a normal state, my tail curling up under my clothes, and my vision changed back into color.

I blinked and started licking off the blood from my fingers, walking past the group, till I came to a stop, planting my ass on a pew. I watched the group as they watched me. I finished cleaning my right hand before I spoke. "I ain't gonna hurt any of you."I said. "I'm not like the other infected out there, mine's genetic, I was born with it." I heard soft footsteps and Alice stepped into my vision.

Red started to cloak my vision but I rapidly blinked. My fangs did elongate and I hissed. "Don't take another step Alice." I warned, my voice soft but with an edge to it.

"What happened to you Sarah?" She asked. Growling was heard and I realized it was coming from me.

"You happened, Matt happened, Rain happened. You left me to die down there!" I shouted. My eyes going from their human blue/grey to the blood red I had come to adore.

"I never left you. The scientists shut the door after I had gotten up there, I tried to fight them, tried to get back down to you, but they subdued me. Sarah, I just woke up in the hospital." She said. My eyes searched hers for any trace of a lie. I found none.

"What happened to Matt?" I asked, my feelings for the gentle man showing. Seeing Alice's lip tremble was enough to make me look away.

"I don't know baby, I don't." she whispered. My anger towards her vanished. My eyes watered up and I jumped at her, embracing her tenderly.

"We'll find him, 'K?" I asked her, looking into her eyes. Alice nodded.

"Let me get this straight, you two know each other?" The black guy asked. Me and my mom smirked.

"Mom, meet the strangers, Strangers, meet my mom." I said.

"The name's Alice." She said.
