Fifteenth Birthday Party
"The rest of the summer seemed strange as it was so normal," admitted Travis.
"We did our daily activities of weapon training, rock climbing and Pegasus riding. We also continued with Capture the flag," said Connor.
"Although we all avoided Zeus's fist," admitted Annabeth.
"Percy and Tyson spent time playing with Mrs O'Leary during the day but she often howled at night," said Will.
"She was missing Daedalus," said Artemis.
"Annabeth and I skirted around each other. I wanted to talk to her about Kronos but I couldn't without mentioning Luke. Annabeth shut me out every time I tried to raise the subject," said Percy.
"It was a difficult subject," objected Annabeth.
"It wasn't until I was leaving camp at the end of the summer that we really talked. I asked Annabeth what the rest of the prophecy was," said Percy.
"Yes what was the last line?" asked Athena.
"Oracle do your thing," said Travis who was hit by the red head.
"You shall delve in the darkness of the endless maze. The dead, traitor and the lost raise," said Rachel.
"You saved Ethan who was the traitor and raised the spirit of the lost one who was Pan," said Artemis.
"You shall rise and fall by the ghost king's hand," continued Rachel.
"I thought at first it was Minos," said Hades.
"But isn't Nico the ghost king?" questioned Will.
"By choosing to be on our side, Nico saved us," replied Annabeth.
"The child of Athena's final stand. Destroy with a hero's final breath," said Rachel.
"Was anyone worried the first time they heard that line that it was talking about Annabeth?" asked Nico.
"Yes but we didn't say it out loud," answered Clarisse.
"Daedalus was the child of Athena and the labyrinth collapsed when he died," said Apollo.
"And lose a love to worse than death," finished Rachel.
"I didn't know who the prophecy was talking about. It could have been either Luke … or Percy," admitted Annabeth.
"I could see how you could think that," said Thalia.
"For years Luke was the only one that cared about me," admitted Annabeth.
"But that had now changed," said Aphrodite "Percy cares for you."
"Hera suddenly appeared and informed Annabeth that she had found the answers and the quest had been a success," said Percy.
"A success? Luke is gone, Daedalus and Pan are dead," objected Thalia.
"But the family is safe," said Hera.
"Safe, our evil father has risen again, how are we safe?" questioned Poseidon.
"I realised then that Hera was the one who paid Geryon to let us through the ranch," informed Percy.
"I helped," said Hera.
"HERA admitted that she had helped guide us more than we knew. She had let my arrow fly straight when I faced Geryon. She sent me to Calypso's island and opened the way to the Titan's mountain," informed Percy.
"Hang on, Hera protected Percy and Annabeth but let MY SON to be turned over to the TITAN ARMY. HOW DARE YOU," shouted Hades.
"He said it himself, he doesn't BELONG. Not even you want him around," yelled Hera back.
"I want him," protested Hades.
"Then why is he currently in the Lotus hotel?" screamed Hera.
"Because I didn't want them dead," yelled Hades.
"He shouldn't be alive," said Zeus.
"And neither should Thalia," said Poseidon.
"You broke the oath," yelled Zeus.
"After you broke the oath first," shouted Poseidon.
"Both of you broke the oath," reminded Hades.
"ENOUGH," yelled Hestia "Clearly all three of you have a child who apparently shouldn't exist but do."
"Continue the story," said Athena everyone shocked that Hestia had yelled.
"I angered Hera by telling her that she was the one who didn't belong, not Nico. I also told her thanks for the help but told her not to worry next time," admitted Annabeth.
"Wow Percy is rubbing off on Annabeth … She insulted a goddess," exclaimed Clarisse.
"My birthday is two days after camp finishes. I didn't usually celebrate as it meant another year closer to the prophecy of me either destroying or saving the world," explained Percy.
"That would put a damper on having a birthday," mumbled Chris.
"Mom threw me a small party which Paul and Tyson attended," said Percy.
"Why weren't we invited?" asked Travis.
"Do you really have to ask?" questioned Katie.
"The last time you left camp, you ended up being accused of robbery," reminded Will.
"They had no evidence that proved that claim," protested Connor.
"Paul and the rest of Goode high school were now convinced that Kelli had been a crazed cheerleader and I had nothing to do with the explosion. I had been an innocent bystander who had panicked and ran from the scene," said Percy.
"How did you managed that?" questioned Aphrodite.
"He manipulated the Mist," replied Athena rolling her eyes.
"No, Chiron manipulated the Mist," exclaimed Annabeth.
"While Tyson helped Mom blow up balloons, Paul pulled me aside for a talk," said Percy.
"What did you talk about?" questioned Poseidon.
"He knew I had a rough summer, that I had lost someone and I had girl trouble," admitted Percy.
"Girl trouble, that is for sure," said Hephaestus.
"Did your mom say something?" questioned Thalia.
"No Paul just knew that there was something unusual about me. He could tell something was going on with me by my expression," admitted Percy.
"He probably has experience, being a teacher," said Annabeth.
"Paul than told me that he was thinking about proposing to mom," said Percy as Aphrodite squealed.
"He asked you for permission?" questioned Poseidon.
"No he just wanted to know how I felt about it. I thought it was a great idea," advised Percy.
"Your mom deserves it, after putting up with Gabe," said Demeter.
"She also needs the support after putting up with your antics," said Thalia.
"I was about to blow out the candles on the cake when the doorbell rang. Mom opened the door and gasped. Standing there wearing Bermuda shorts, Hawaiian shirt and a battered cap that said 'Neptune's lucky fishing hat' was Poseidon," explained Percy.
"What have I said about interfering with the demi-gods," shouted Zeus.
"Mom let him enter and Paul introduced himself. Dad called him Blowfish," said Percy as the room laughed.
"Like father, like son," commented Athena.
"Paul thought Poseidon was an interesting name," admitted Percy.
"I have gone by other names but I do prefer Poseidon," explained the sea god.
"What you don't prefer Fish Breath?" joked Hades.
"Paul was surprised when Tyson bounded across the room to hug his daddy," said Percy. "Mom reassured Paul that Tyson wasn't hers."
"That would have been awkward," said Clarisse.
"Poseidon what are you doing there?" asked Hera.
"How should I know?" answered Poseidon.
"It would be Percy's fifteenth birthday," remarked Athena.
"Percy would be considered a man, if we were in Sparta," said Poseidon.
"In three years I will be a man," exclaimed Nico.
"Only in Sparta," argued Clarisse.
"Poseidon wanted to speak to me alone. He had heard stories but wanted to hear it from me," explained Percy.
"Poseidon…." Warned Zeus.
"I hate hearing information second-hand," admitted Poseidon.
"That's how I get most of my information," grumbled Hades.
"I asked Poseidon about Luke. He informed me it was disturbing. He had no idea how he was prepared to host the Titan's soul but expected that he would need to be killed if Kronos was to be beaten and that it would not be easy to do so," explained Percy.
"So you knew you would need to kill Luke for a long time," said Thalia.
"I expected that I would have to kill him from the moment Kronos rose," admitted Percy.
"I think I knew that, but wished or hoped that there was a way to save him," admitted Annabeth.
"Poseidon informed me that the old sea gods were causing problems. The ocean was at war with itself. It was difficult to keep hurricanes and typhoons from destroying the surface world," informed Percy.
"Sounds serious," said Apollo.
"I wanted to help," admitted Percy.
"Thank you, but I guess you are needed on the surface," said Poseidon.
"Poseidon gave me a sand dollar for my birthday telling me to spend it wisely," informed Percy.
"What can you spend a sand dollar on?" asked Hephaestus.
"You can buy a lot, you just have to use it in the right situation," advised Percy.
"What situation?" asked Athena.
"You will just have to wait to find out," said Annabeth.
"I needed to know about Antaeus. He said he was Poseidon's favourite son yet dedicated his arena decorated by skulls," explained Percy.
"You wondered how someone could do something so horrible in your father's name," said Athena.
"People do horrible things in the name of the gods, which we don't approve of," stated Poseidon.
"Poseidon also informed me that I was his favourite son," boasted Percy.
"Oh I am so telling Triton you said that," exclaimed Apollo.
"You shouldn't have favourites," said Hestia.
"Nico has to be Hades favourite," said Travis.
"When Hitler is your sibling than it wouldn't be hard," responded Connor.
"Bianca is his favourite," whispered Nico.
"I don't have favourites," stated Hades.
"Poseidon informed me that Mount St Helen was still erupting. Typhon was stirring and that it was likely that he would escape his bonds," explained Percy.
"That is not good," said Hermes.
"The last time he appeared the forces of Olympus were barely enough to battle," said Athena.
"Poseidon also informed me that he would come straight to New York, to Olympus," said Percy.
"At least you know, so you can make a plan," said Aphrodite.
"The demi-gods won't be fighting Typhon, we will be," stated Zeus.
"Happy Birthday Percy. For your birthday you get a lousy sand dollar and bad news," said Hermes.
"Poseidon left after that, turning into mist and sweeping out the window on an ocean breeze," informed Percy.
"How do you explain that to Paul?" asked Katie.
"We convinced him that Poseidon left by the fire escape, which he had to believe as people don't vanish into thin air," said Percy.
"Except if they are gods," said Chris.
"And he believed that someone used the fire escape to leave?" asked Demeter.
"Eventually he got use to people coming and going from the fire escape," admitted Percy.
"How often do people enter and leave by the fire escape?" questioned Hades.
"Nico uses it fairly often," admitted Percy.
"It is good escape route from monsters," said Thalia.
"And a good place for catching a ride from the Pegasus," admitted Annabeth.
"Later I left Tyson bankrupting Mom and Paul in Monopoly, Tyson had knocked me out of the game," informed Percy.
"Tyson is really good at that game," grumbled Will.
"We learnt to play with real money when Tyson was around," admitted Travis.
"How? ... No I don't want to know," said Zeus.
"Tyson introduced it to the Cyclopes and they have matches regularly," informed Percy.
"I love this cyclops," exclaimed Hermes.
"I found the clipping of Moonlace in my pocket. It was shrivelled up but I decided to grant Calypso's request," explained Percy.
"You planted it?" questioned Demeter.
"Yes my mom keeps a planter box on the fire escape. I planted the Moonlace in the dirt and sprinkled it with nectar. A tiny silver plant sprang out of the soil," answered Percy.
"It is still growing," informed Nico.
"Sally loves it," said Annabeth.
"That was when I was startled. Nico just appeared on the fire escape next to me," admitted Percy.
"I hate when he does that," grumbled Will.
"It is fun, except when it is Clarisse or Annabeth…. Then it is SCARY," said Nico.
"Oh that's right they almost stabbed you with a weapon," sniggered Chris.
"I informed Percy that Daedalus had got his punishment. Minos wanted to boil him in cheese fondue for eternity," advised Nico.
"How do you come up with these punishments?" asked Demeter.
"That one … after a family dinner with you and Persephone, which ended when you threw the fondue at me … or was it Persephone?" answered Hades.
"Daedalus's punishment was to build overpasses and exit ramps in Asphodel for all time," informed Nico.
"That would help ease the traffic congestion," admitted Hades.
"Nico also informed me that he had found out some things. He had found out a way to beat Luke," said Percy.
"The only way you stood a chance," said Nico.
"Nico happened to catch sight of my birthday cake. He was looking longingly at it so I invited him in for some with ice cream and a long talk," said Percy.
"I was hungry," protested Nico, "The cake was Blue."
"It's Percy of course it was blue," said Annabeth.
"And that is the Battle of the Labyrinth finished, informed Percy.
"Hey Percy, you said that there was two more stories left. We only have the battle to go," said Annabeth.
"I thought my father, Thalia's and Nico's fathers need to see how to work together," replied Percy.
"Are we really going to tell them about the one time we three had a quest together?" asked Nico.
"Why not, it is important," stated Percy.
"What is this story called?" asked Apollo.
"How we met Bob," said Nico.
"Stupid flower and a sword," said Thalia.
