I do not own Danny Phantom
Vlad walked into the dinning room to find his three housemates already there, waiting for him. He sat at the head of the table like usual and they all started to eat their breakfast. After a few minutes of silence, Vlad spoke up. "How would you all like to go to the mall, or to a movie or something? The only time you really leave the house is to go to school. I think it's safe to do things normal teens do." He said. "Two months is long enough to be cooped up inside."
All three teens looked up at him. They hadn't thought much about leaving the castle. It had almost become routine for them to stay in for fear of being recognized and sent back. Sam had even avoided public dates with her new boyfriend, Jason.
"Do you really think it's a good idea? Do you think it's okay to not train today?" Danny asked.
"I do. What's one day at the mall going to do? Or one day without training?" Vlad stated. He and Danny had been training the young halfa's powers everyday. "I'll take you there after breakfast if you like."
"Will you stay with us?" Sam asked. She was the most fearful. Her parents had the resources to hire an entire team of private detectives to find her, and wouldn't let them stop until she was found.
"If you want me to." Vlad said. He understood why they were afraid of going out, but he also knew it wasn't healthy for them to stay cooped up all the time. "Would you like to invite your friends? We can make it a group thing." He asked.
The three teens lit up. "Thanks Vlad." Tucker said. Vlad had given them all cellphones so they could keep in contact with their school friends whenever they liked. They each got them out and texted their friends. They all agreed to meet at the mall entrance.
An hour later, Vlad was walking around the mall, following a group of seven teens as they happily walked around, going in and out of stores. Sam was holding Jason's left hand, and his sister was holding his right hand. Jason was as goth as Sam was, dressed in all black, his black hair covering one eye, though he wore no makeup. His twin sister Kelly was the opposite. She was dressed in pink from head to toe, her black hair in a ponytail, tied up with a pink ribbon. Tucker was talking tech with Gary. Gary had blonde hair and wore jeans and an orange t-shirt. His glasses were thin and had black frames. Danny and Francis were talking about the new space museum that was opening up in a month. Francis was a skinny kid with red hair and freckles. His shirt had NASA wrote across the front in red letters.
Vlad was happy to see the three teens truly happy again. He knew it ws hard for them, but he was glad they could trust people again. He didn't know if they would ever tell their friends what happened to them all, but he knew that if they did, their friends would understand. The four teen had come over to him house a lot over the last two months. He had also come to know them pretty well. They were nice kids and Vlad was happy they had found each other.
Vlad wasn't really paying attention to his surroundings as he walked with the teens, so when some men ran up to him, he didn't have time to react before he was in handcuffs. "What? What's going on?" He demanded, fighting the urge to phase out of the cuffs.
"Vlad?" Danny started to rush forward, but was stopped by a man in a black suit.
"Daniel Fenton, Samantha Manson, Tucker Foley?" He said. Danny looked up at him with shock. "It's good to see that you all are okay." He said. Sam and Tucker stared at the man in shock. The other four teens were scared out of their whitts.
"Who are you?" Danny asked, scared himself.
"My name is Frank Moris. I'm a private detective hired by Samantha's parents to find you all." Frank answered. He turned to the cops holding a shocked Vlad. "Take him to the station. I'll meet you there with the teens." He said.
"Vlad." Danny started forward again, but Frank stopped him. "Please let him go. Let him go. Let him go. Let him go." Danny pleaded.
Frank didn't seem to hear him. He let Gary, Francis, Kelly, and Jason go and took Sam, Tucker, and Danny with him. He drove to the police station in silence. Frank tried to talk to the teens, but neither of them would say a word.
'Why?' Danny asked himself. 'Why would they put Vlad in handcuffs? Wasn't it obvious that he wasn't hurting us?' Danny was scared. He didn't want to go back to his parents. they didn't want him, and he was afraid that if he was sent back, they would only kill him. To them, he was nothing more than a ghost who stole their son's life and body.
At the station, the teens were greeted by Sam and Tucker's parents. "Samantha, are you okay?" Mrs. Manson said, rushing to her daughter and hugging her. Sam didn't say anything at frist. "Sam?" Mrs. Manson let go of her daughter and looked her in the eyes.
"I'm fine." Sam said, determination shinning in her eyes. "What are you doing here?" She asked.
"Looking for you, what else?" Mr. Manson answered. Sam scowled.
"Sam don't." Danny said. Sam looked at her best friend, and said nothing. "Where is Vlad." Danny turned to Frank.
"Mr. Masters in being held in another room. You don't have to worry about him getting to you now." Frank said.
"I want you to take me to him." Danny said.
"Why? He kidnapped you and now you can go home." Frank said.
"He didn't kidnap me. I ran away from home and he helped me." Danny said. "I can't go home. My parents don't want me. They're not even here." Danny put his arm out and swept it through the air around the room. "Sam's family is here, and so is Tucker's. My parents can't stand to look at me. Have you not talked to them?" Frank had told them everything that had happened since they had left on the ride over.
"I have talked to them. They're just confused. They don't know what to think." Frank said.
"You're stupid. They think I'm an evil ghost who killed their son and took his body and I can't convince them otherwise." Danny yelled.
"What about Samantha and Tucker. Why did you have them follow you?" Mrs. Foley asked.
"He didn't have us follow him. We chose to follow him. We wanted to be with Danny. We had to be with him." Sam yelled. "You didn't belive us when he said he was alive. You didn't want to help him when he needed it, so we did."
Everyone stared at the girl in shock. "We were told he was dead by his parents. What were we supposed to think?" Mrs. Manson asked.
"You could have believed us. We tried to tell you he was alive, and you didn't believe us." Sam answered. "We knew he wasn't dead, we just knew it. You could have trusted us. No, you should have trusted us."
"I can't go back home. I can't. I don't want to die. They'll kill me if I go back. I know they will." Danny said desperately.
"No they won't. They're your parents. They love you Daniel." Frank said.
"No they don't. I'm telling you, they don't want me. I'm nothing to them anymore. Jazz might want me, but my parents don't." Danny sighed. "The night I ran away, my parents had showed off their new invention. I went inside of it, and something exploded. They think it killed me, because it should have. I should be dead, but I'm not. I can't go back to Amity Park with them. They don't want me, but Vlad does. Please let me go back with him. Please let him go."
Frank sighed. There really was no sign Vlad had kidnapped the teens in the first place. He was at the mall with them for crying out loud. No kidnapper went to the mall with the people he was supposed to have kidnapped, and let them do what they wanted. And he told the Manson's and Foley's just that. "Either way, you can take Sam and Tucker home whenever you please. I no longer need them here." Frank said.
"I don't want to leave. I like it here. I like my new school. I like to people there. I'm so much more happy here." Sam said.
Mr. and Mrs. Manson exchanged a look. Their daughter had never showed interest in school or people, even though she made good grades and had friends. "Okay, but you'll still be living with us. We'll start looking for a house right away. All we have to do is get your paperwork in order." Mr. Manson said.
Sam's eyes widened. They were really willing to move for her? "Thanks." She said, giving them a hug.
"I guess you want to stay too Tucker?" Tucker nodded to his parents. "Alright. How could we separate you three?" Mrs. Foley said.
Danny smiled at his friends. He was glad they were able to find their happiness. "Why so sad Little Badger?" Danny spun around to see Vlad standing behind him. He was still handcuffed, his hands in front of him. Danny ran up to him, and hugged him. "I'm so glad you're okay. I thought I was going to have to go ghost and break you out of here." Danny whispered so only Vlad could hear him.
"It's okay Daniel. I wouldn't leave you for the world. If it came down to it, I would have broke myself out and tracked you down." Vlad whispered back, putting his handcuffed hands around Danny.
Fifteen minutes later, Frank came into the room and smiled at Danny and Vlad, Sam, Tucker, and their families had already left to start getting ready for the move. Frank un-cuffed Vlad. "Everything is clear. You are now officially Danny's guardian. Not father and son, but you still have to do as you're told Danny." He smiled at them brightly.
"Thank you so much Frank." Danny said, smiling at Vlad. "I can live normally without worrying if my parents would find and kill me."
Vlad placed his hand on Danny's head. "Good. I don't think I could live in my house without you there. I love you Daniel." He said.
"I love you too Vlad." Danny hugged Vlad.
"You're free too go anytime you like. Good luck with life you two." Frank said as he walked away to help the local police with a case of theirs.
"Let's go home Daniel. It'll be so quiet without Sam and Tucker, but I get the feeling they'll be over quiet a bit." Vlad said.
"I think so too." Danny said as he followed Vlad out of the police department. Vlad's car, the one he had left at the mall, was sitting in the parking lot, waiting for them. "Did Johnson bring that here?" Danny asked.
"Yes he did. I called and asked him to." Vlad answered.
"Good thinking." Danny said as they got in the car.
They drove home in silence, both enjoying the fact they didn't have to hide anymore. They could tell everyone the truth. And they did have a lot of explaining to do. It would take a little time, but everything would turn out fine in the end. Danny smiled to himself. Now he could live with the man he loved, without being afraid of someone sending him back.
