Jake Puckerman had never felt an anger as strong as this one.

A rage that bubbles at the pit of his stomach, making him clench his jaw and curl up his fists as his eyes shoots daggers at the display in front of him. An infuriation that makes him not want to punch anyone on every inch of their body- more like one person.

He hadn't been especially happy when he had lost the role of Danny in their school musical, Grease, to that Ryder Lynn kid. He hadn't been especially happy when he had been demoted to the measly role of Putzie.

But what really got him upset was when Marley got the role of Sandy.

Of course, he was happy for her. He wouldn't have even tried out for the damn musical if it wasn't for her. "I need a friend to try out with me." She had pleaded with a small pout. "Please."

But he didn't like what he was watching now. He didn't like watching Lynn's hand on her hip as he pulls her close, the way he was looking at her as if he wanted nothing more than to do her, right then and there, how she was looking right back at him with the same expression.

Sure, this is only for a play. They don't really like each other like that (hopefully). And he shouldn't be getting mad, he's dating Kitty...

But he has never, ever felt anything like this.

He throws his head back, groaning into his hands when he realizes this isn't rage.

This is jealousy.

He wants to kick something- or, actually, more like Ryder. In the nuts.

Later, after the show, Jake- still enraged- is approached by the devil himself, grinning with leftover hair grease slicking back his hair.

"Hey, Jake!" Ryder raises his hand in hello. "Nice job out there, man."

Before Jake even knew what was happening, his fist was in pain and Ryder was keeled over before him, clutching his bleeding nose.

He ignores the "what happened?"s and "Jesus Christ"s as he rushes out of the auditorium and outside, where he kicks down the nearest thing- a full trash can.

He lets out a loud scream as he punts the litter scattered around, running a hand through his short hair.

Jake hates jealously.
