"Where are you hiding him?"

Reaching out the soldier grabbed one of the elders and said "He'd be about this old? Master of all elements?" he dragged the elderly woman around the half circle of surrounding villagers. Roughly he threw the elder away, and fire bending in a rage he seemed to grow angrier at the sound of the villagers frightful cries.

"I know that you are hiding him!" The soldier roared at the crowd. Smirking as an idea suddenly came to her, Kagome softly pushed the villagers aside whispering "Excuse me," every so often, trying to reach the front before someone got hurt. Hearing a scream Kagome quickly looked up in surprise as Sokka started running towards the armored soldier, just as Sokka was about to harm him the unharmed soldier flung Sokka towards the front of the crowd.

"Show no fear!" One of the younger children shouted before throwing a spear towards Sokka who caught it and started charging once more towards the soldier. Suddenly the soldier snapped the spear and pushed Sokka towards the ground while throwing the left over pieces at his feet. 'Leave it to Sokka to look hilarious even when in battle' Kagome thought. Looking behind the soldier Kagome noticed that Sokka's boomerang was coming back and had hit the scarred man in the back of his helmet. The people of the village could only watch in horror as the bender brought forth his element once more before Kagome quickly pushed through the final throng of villagers. Watching as she was quickly surrounded by soldiers she quickly brought forth her arms into a huge arching motion, watching as the snow turned to ice and made a small wall, before bringing her arms close spreading her fingers and pushing her arms out and away from her body. Smirking once she heard the amazed gasps coming from Katara, Sokka and most of the villagers.

"Looking for me" the young multi-bender taunted.

"You're the air bender? You're the Avatar" The soldier said in clear disbelief.

" I have spent years preparing for this encounter," he said.

"How sweet, you have been staling me for all these years? Should I take that as a compliment?"

"All these years, training, meditating, and you're just a child." He said condescendingly.

"I guess that makes you a child as well" Kagome hissed, her eyes narrowing.

Creating an arch with his left hand he brought his right leg forward, pushing his right arm forward as well creating a huge fireball to come hurdling towards the young bender. Quickly she brought both of her hands together and pushed her arms forward causing the fire to slowly dissipate around her. Faintly she could her the shocked screams of the villagers over the hard pumping of her heart. This sequence repeated over and over until she had a good look of the children of the village, watching as they clung to the warm embrace of their mothers for comfort.

Looking further past the crowd Kagome could just barley make out the forms of Katara and Sokka pushing Aang towards and unoccupied hut near the outskirts of the village.

Quickly Kagome said "If I go with you will you promise to leave this village alone?"

The leader nodded and I could do absolutely nothing as two of his men grabbed me by the arms and dragged me towards the boat. I turned around as best as I could and the last thing I saw was the disgusted faces of both Katara and Sokka and the saddened one of Aangs before I was pushed roughly to the floor of the Fire Nation ship.

"Katara! We need to go and rescue Kagome!" Aang shouted, panicked that his new friend was taken so easily by the soldiers for his sake.

"Aang, She is better off with the Fire Nation, you saw how she bended the fire! Besides we need to get you to the Northern Water tribe as soon as possible."

"We have to go after that ship Katara. Kagome saved your tribe and now we need to save her!"

"Aang, Katara, I-" Sokka tried to say

"Why can't you realize that she needs our help? I know you may not like Kagome-"

"Aang! Katara! Are you gonna talk all day or come with me to rescue Kagome?" Sokka asked.

"where do you think you three are doing?" Gran-Gran asked, smiling slyly she continued "You'll need these" she finished lifting up a pair of sleeping bags, "You will have a long journey a head of you. It has been so long since I have had hope, but you brought it back to life. Take care my little water bender and you my brave warrior. Take care of your sister."

"Yeah, yeah Gran-Gran" Sokka said rolling his eyes

"Now you both know that this boy is the worlds only chance, you both found him for a reason, now all of your destinies are tied."

"Well there is no way we can catch a war ship with a canoe." Katara said

Looking at a snow hill up in the distance as the heard growling they smiled, it was Appa!

"You have got to be kidding me!" complained Sokka

Speeding on towards its destination, on the front of the deck stood Zuko and a slightly worried Kagome. "this animal would make an excellent gift for my father, I suppose you wouldn't know about fathers, what with being raised by monks. Take the Avatar to the prison hold."

'Holy eel hounds! What have I done?' As Kagome was turned around she turned her head back, looking at the old man by the soldier's side pleadingly, trying to let the man see the fear that was no doubt upon her face at that moment.

Stepping forward he said "Excuse me young Avatar, my name is General Iroh. Would you mind telling me the breed of your fox? I have never seen one with three tails before."

Smiling a little as the guards let her turn around she replied "She is an extremely rare breed and her name is Yuki. There are not many of her left, just like me. She is a Kitsune yôkai and is something that you have never heard of before. She is my animal protector and companion." Turning back around she let the guards shove her through the steel grounds but not before getting a good look at the outside of the ship. As they continued to walk through the corridors of the ship Kagome said "So, I guess you have never fought an Avatar before, haave you? I bet I could take you both out with my hands still tied behind my back."

"Silence, girl." The guard said as he took out his keys to unlock the door Kagome jumped onto the mans shoulders, pushing off of him and landing just behind the one that was just behind her only to kick him in the back of the knees and running after watching as they fell to the ground. Kicking open a stray door all you could hear was "The Avatar has escaped!"

Gliding through the air on Appa the golden trio searched for any sign of the stray navy shi[/

"C'mon Appa! We need to find Kagome!" Aang shouted

Stopping near the beginning of the hall Kagome gasped in shock. Standing right in front of her were three more of the Fire Nation soldiers. "You haven't seen my fox anywhere have you?" She asked a little panicked and rushed.

Getting more worried as the shifted into their battle stances, running quickly she jumped onto the first soldiers helmet, pushing herself to run faster as she heard the sound of the soldier hitting the ground. Propelling her body forward she ran over the ceiling and towards the other end of the hall, screaming "Thanks anyways though!". Screaming in complete shock as a soldier jumped in front of her and into a lunging motion thrusting his arm forward creating a long burst of fire to come, running forward and doing a front back flip over the soldier she let her arms come down and let her ropes get caught on his helmet, not only bringing him crashing to the ground but cutting the ropes that bound her wrists. Continuing down the hallway Kagome opened door after door until she saw a blur of white and heard a little whimper. That was Yuki! Running back and into the room Kagome slid on her knees opening her arms and watching ecstatically as Yuki just jumped into her warm embrace.

Hearing the door slam shut Kagome quickly jumped into a standing position, hearing the same voice from earlier speak, turning around Kagome whispered to Yuki "Run when I run.", before setting the fox down onto the ground.

"It seems that I have underestimated you"

Scared Kagome took a few steps backwards as the soldier took a few steps forward, matching her even pace, sliding his left foot forward while punching out with his right arm, repeating the same process while Kagome dodged trying to make sure that Yuki didn't accidentally get burned. Grabbing a banner that had hung on the walls Kagome wrapped it around the soldier, grabbed Yuki and ran out of their as if the hounds of hell were chasing her. When she finally made it outside she brought both of her arms forward in an arch towards her body, bringing up the water from both sides of the ship before shooting her arms out at an angle and curving them up slightly, causing a ramp that she started to run towards once more. Jumping up and over the balcony of the ship, Kagome shrieked as a hand grabbed hold of her ankle, making her fall and land roughly on her side. Standing up Kagome quickly got into her battle stance and both teenagers were shocked as they heard a loud roar coming from above the clouds.

"What is that thing?" The soldier asked, clearly mystified

Seeing the opening that he had created Kagome swung her arm back making the water on the ship move back and swung her arm back forward before snapping her wrist, creating a whip effect that hit the unprepared soldier in the temple knocking him to the ground. Running towards the ramp Kagome hurried her speed as she jumped off the ramp, twenty feet in the air only for Aang to shoot her higher with an air blast that landed her safely into Appa's awaiting arms. Watching clearly terrified as the soldier kept shooting fire blast after fire blast even when Aang had landed on the edge of the ship and with one more blast Aang fell into the freezing cold water.

"Aang!" Kagome screamed, quickly making the decision of jumping into the water after Aang, all the while hearing Katara scream in the background. "Appa, c'mon boy lets help Aang!" Kagome screamed before she dived through the water. Spotting Aang's bright yellow and orange outfit slowly sinking towards the bottom she propelled her body forward, continuing to do so even as she finally got a hold of his body. Breaking through the surface of the water she was surprised to find Appa waiting not to far away from them. Lifting Aang up with the help of Sokka she slowly lifted her body up as well before Appa took to the skies once more with Sokka handing Aang his staff back.

"Bring them down!" Kagome heard the scream coming from behind her and once she turned around she saw a fireball hurdling straight towards them. Jumping towards the tail of Appa she quickly deflected the giant ball of fire, making it heads toward a giant glacier, causing an avalanche to fall and crash upon the ship, although once seeing the terrified face of the scarred soldier she felt bad for almost sinking the ship, for if the vessel were to sink then they would surely drown with the amount of armor that they were wearing.

"Good news to the Fire Lord. The threat to our nation is just a teenage girl" General Iroh said.

"That girl did all this to our ship uncle, I won't underestimate her again. Dig the ship out of the ice and follow them!" Zuko said as he turned around only to see most of his men trying to unfreeze some of his rather unlucky soldiers. "As soon as you're done with that" he amended.

Flying above the clouds on the believed to be extinct flying bison, you could see four figures , although one appeared to be resting. "How come you didn't tell us that you were the Avatar?" Katara replied, looking betrayed.

"Because, I never wanted to be." Aang sulked

"But Aang, we have been waiting for the Avatars return for over a hundred years, to finally put an end to this war.

"How am I going to do that"

"Well, according to the legends you must first master water, earth, then fire, right?" She questioned

"That's what the monks told me."

"Well then we need to start travelling north to the Northern Water tribe. So we can master water bending." Kagome butted in. "And I'm sure you'll get to kick some Fire Nation butt along the way."

"Alright," Aang shouted excitedly," Before we do anything we have some serious business to attend to." Aang finished, pulling out a map. "we'll need to travel here, here, and here."

"What's over here?" Katara questioned

Smiling Aang replied "here we'll ride the hopping rocks, way over here we'll ride the backs of giant koi fish. Then back over here we're going to ride the backs of wild hog monkeys! They don't like that, but that is what makes it more fun!"
