Gohan and Videl stood next to each other as they walked through one of the many fields on the sacred world of the Kai's. It was very similar to the clearing that they trained in on Earth by Gohan's house.

"So, now that we established the basics a while ago, I think that it's time that we really start incorporating energy techniques into your fighting style as well as come up with a few of your own moves," Gohan said as they walk.

"What do you mean by my own moves? I don't have any," Videl said with a raised eyebrow.

"I know, every fighter has their own moves that they develop and use. Kind of like their trademarks. My family has the Kamehameha wave, Vegeta's has the galic gun," Gohan continued.

"Those were the moves you guys used to kill Iced, right?"

Gohan nodded his head, "They are our most powerful attacks."

"Well, could I just learn the Kamehameha first?" Videl asked.

"That's something I planned on teaching you, but I want you to come up with your own moves at some point," Gohan said as he took a fighting stance, cupped his hands and placed them to his side. "This is the starting stance," Gohan said as he then pushed his hands forward, "This is where you'll be executing and finishing the attack."

Videl then took the starting pose, Gohan walked over and said, "Spread your feet a little more, you'll need to be stable in order to execute the attack properly."

She did so and then pushed her hands forward, however they weren't together and her elbows pointed out.

"Keep your hands together and your elbows should be pointing towards the ground," Gohan noted. Videl nodded and practiced the form while Gohan watched and offered small advice. After several attempts she was ready to move on. Gohan then took the form and cupped his hands saying, "You want to focus as much energy as you can in your hands and then shoot it forward in a beam, watch. Kame haaameee." A bright blue sphere formed in Gohan's hands before he shot them forward yelling, "HAAAA."

He made the beam weak so that it wouldn't damage any of the surroundings, but he got his point through to Videl. She started to gather energy in her hands, forming a weak blue sphere. Whenever she finally launched it, the beam traveled 50 feet before dissipating.

"There you go, Videl. With some more practice you'll have it down for sure!" Gohan said praising Videl. She lowered her arms and had a content look on her face.

"I thought it would be great to finally learn a technique like this, but it doesn't quite feel right," Videl said, feeling unsatisfied.

"If you develop a technique on your own and then keep improving it, it'll feel much more fulfilling. That's what I was trying to explain before," Gohan said with a smile.

"I see what you mean now, do you think we could do that?" Videl asked.

"I can't teach you, but I'll be more than happy to help you," Gohan said, still smiling. With that they got to work.

Several months passed, and the dragonballs were once again active. Vegeta stood with Trunks and Goten at Capsule Corp. with the dragon radar in his hand. He then tossed it to his son and said, "You know the drill, bring them back. Don't make too much of a scene though or else the Saiyan patrols will investigate."

"Will do dad," Trunks said as him and Goten took off.

"Trunks, what did your dad mean by try not to make too much of a scene?" Goten asked.

"He means that if we raise our power levels too high then a patrol will come around looking for the disturbance," Trunks answered while turning the radar on. The first dragonball was actually in west city. It looked like it was on top of a sky scraper. The two boys flew up making faces at all of the people working in the offices on the way up. After having a good laugh they found the ball impacted into the wall on the top floor. The three stars in it clearly visible to the both of them.

"Wow, it's just stuck in there all by itself," Goten said reaching for the ball.

"That is kind of cool, be careful pulling it out though," Trunks said. Just as Trunks finished talking, Goten yanked the ball too hard and it went flying across the city.

"Goten! What did I just say?!" Trunks yelled as he flew off after the ball. The ball started flying down a busy street, Trunks caught it right before it could've impacted into the sidewalk in front of several bystanders. They looked at him in utter confusion before he grinned widely and flew straight up into the air.

"Goten you have to be more careful than that!" Trunks yelled as he turned the radar back on.

"It slipped Trunks! Where's the next ball at?" Goten replied curiously as he floated to his friend. The radar lit up and honed in on the next closest ball which appeared to be to the north in the arctic.

"Well let's go already!" Goten yelled excitedly taking off haphazardly in the wrong direction.

"Goten that's south! You're going to the wrong way!" Trunks yelled taking off after his friend who couldn't hear him. The two were flying for fifteen minutes in the wrong direction before Goten yelled at his friend, "You're too slow Trunks! I'm going to beat you!"

"You're going the wrong way!" Trunks yelled back.

"Wait, what?!" Goten yelled coming to an abrupt stop, "You better not be lying Trunks!"

"I'm not," Trunks said coming up to Goten and showing him the radar.

"Oh, I was wondering why it wasn't getting cold," Goten laughed.

Trunks pinched the bridge of his nose before saying, "Let's just go."

The two took off north again this time faster, passing West City in only five minutes. Five more minutes passed before the surrounding terrain became mountainous with snow on the ground everywhere.

"Down here Goten!" Trunks yelled landing at what appeared to be a mine next to a frozen over lake.

"This place is cool!" Goten yelled as he landed and looked at all the crystal balls laying everywhere.

"This isn't good Goten, we have to look through all of these!" Trunks yelled frustrated.

"Wait what?! We'll be here for like a hundred years!" Goten yelled.

"We better start looking then," Trunks said walking around occasionally picking up a ball. Goten followed suit until he bumped into a wooden structure holding a large amount of crystal balls and they all came falling down on him. He was laughing as he stood proud after he thought he dodged all of them until one larger him fell down and hit him square on the head. As the crystal ball cracked down the middle and split tears started to build in Goten's eyes. He went into a full out wail as the two halves of the ball hit the ground next to him.

Deep beneath the ice of the lake, a pair of teal eyes shot open as a once sleeping body was awoken. Once open wounds have scarred shut and blonde hair ran down past his shoulders. He heard a similar crying before he whispered, "Kakarot."

Over by Goten, Trunks was running over with the four star ball in his hand, "Goten calm down already, I bet that didn't even hurt you."

"It still surprised me though," Goten said wiping the tears from his eyes.

"Seriously Goten, we've fought in an intergalactic battle and came out on top but you still cry when something surprises you," Trunks said egging Goten on.

"Cut it out Trunks, I bet you'd cry to if that happened," Goten replied. Just then the ground around them started shaking intensely. A crystal ball that was perched on the ledge above them fell and smacked Trunks on the head before hitting the ground. A quick tear fell from the boys eye before he shook it off trying to figure out what was going on.

The friends jumped out of the pit to see the iced-over lake shaking violently. Cracks in the ice started to form towards the center of the lake. Green light leaked out of the cracks that were multiplying by the second.

"Do you sense that?" Goten asked Trunks who simply nodded.

"Who could that be?" Trunks asked in wonder.

Nearby, four scouters flashed with an increasing power level towards the north.

"Captain, what the hell is that?!" a Saiyan asked.

"I don't know, you call it in to the barracks, we're checking it out," the captain ordered one of his soldiers as they took off towards the power level.

The ice suddenly exploded, many fine fragments falling from the sky like snow as a figure with a yellow-green glow started to rise from the center of the lake. He had odd jewelry on his head and around his wrists, his most distinguishable features were teal eyes and flowing blond hair.

"Who is that?!" Goten yelled.

"KAKAROT!" Broly yelled as he charged at Goten. Goten dodged accordingly in one direction and Trunks in the other.

"That's your dad's name, isn't it?" Trunks yelled.

"My dad's name is Goku, not kakarod!"

"No his Saiyan name!"

"I don't know," Goten yelled flying from Broly who was closing in on him fast. Out of nowhere four energy blasts hit Broly, making him flinch slightly. He stopped his pursuit and turned to his right to see four Saiyan soldiers in full armor standing.

"We're going to need reinforcements," the captain said into his scouter. The scouter then yelled back in a voice that was distinguishably Vegeta's, "Hold him off for five minutes, I'm on my way."

"You heard him men, protect the children, contain the enemy, move out!" the captain yelled and the three soldiers behind him formed a wide perimeter around Broly.

"Goten, transform! These guys don't stand a chance against this guy!" Trunks yelled transforming and launching himself at Broly. Goten transformed and flew towards Broly opposite of his friend.

A sick smile grew across Broly's face as he saw the Saiyan soldiers surrounding him. A small energy ball formed in his right hand. Before he could throw it, two small fists hit him in the head on opposite sides of his face. The force from the blow sent Broly flying 20 feet before he regained himself. He looked up to see Goten and Trunks in mirrored fighting stances. He then whispered, "Kakarot."

Trunks whispered over to Goten, "Hey Goten, remember that new fighting style we've been working on, let's give it a shot."

Goten smiled before replying, "Keep up Trunks."

This caught Trunks off guard a little, Goten was usually this confident in situations. He shrugged it off before they both used super speed to disappear from sight.

"Captain we can't let these children fight!" a soldier yelled.

"Let them go, that's Vegeta's and Kakarot's sons," the captain replied, "alright, everyone make sure there's no people around, this battle could easily vaporize this entire area. Find any villages, tell them to take cover, move!"

The four Saiyans then flew off, this went without notice by Trunks and Goten who were in sync fighting Broly. The two reappeared 20 feet above Broly with kicks aimed square at his chest. Their feet connected to Broly's chest, the Saiyan shrugged it off, grabbed the ankles of both boys and threw them in opposite directions towards mountains. The boys both touched ground, got up and disappeared again. This time Broly reached to his left and right and grabbed both boys out of midair in his hands before flying straight down to the ground with them in front of him and slammed them into the dirt. The boys were struggling to get up from being slammed, Goten managed to stand before reverting to his base form and collapsing. Broly held his hand up and a green energy blast formed in his hand as he laughed yelling, "Kakarot!"

Just before he could throw his blast at the two boys, a boot came out of nowhere and sent Broly flying across the landscape. Trunks looked up to see his father standing with his arms crossed and electricity dancing around his Super Saiyan two form.

"What did I say about not getting into trouble," Vegeta asked Trunks.

Trunks grinned from the ground a little before replying, "Sometimes it just finds us," before drifting into unconsciousness.

"Time to settle this Broly," Vegeta said under his breath as more and more power poured out of his body.

Vegeta then took off at full speed towards where he sensed the Super Saiyan. He leaded with another kick aimed straight for Broly's head. Broly started to rise from the dirt, and his irises suddenly disappeared as a smile grew on his face. He caught Vegeta by his right ankle and clenched his grip so the prince couldn't escape. Vegeta looked on in anger as Broly ascended to his legendary form, the muscle on his body escalating to disgusting proportions of what is used to be. He gripped Vegeta's ankle tighter until there was a loud crack and threw Vegeta across the dirt.

"Damn you," Vegeta said under breath as he hovered in the air, not putting weight on his now broken ankle. Broly smiled sickly as he charged Vegeta with a punch aimed right for his gut. But moments before it could connect, the almost-broken prince caught the fist and hurled the humungous Saiyan over his shoulder.

"It'll take more than that to bring me down!" the prince yelled as he flew after the monster. Broly flipped in midair, touched a mountain with his foot to catch himself, which inadvertently brought it collapsing down, and launched himself at Vegeta with his elbow aimed at him. Vegeta responded by raising his elbow and the two met and collided in midair and held a stalemate. Vegeta stared into the iris-less eyes of Broly with pure hate while Broly stared back with an expression of sick happiness on his face.

Broly broke the stalemate by aiming a kick at Vegeta's hip on his right side. Unable to defend himself with his leg, Vegeta was sent flying across the landscape by the kick. Without wasting any time Broly launched a series of disk-shaped energy blasts at Vegeta. Vegeta barely responded by crossing his arms in front of his head and torso. Most of the blasts hit dead on and the singed body of the prince came falling back to Earth. He landed on the ground, raising a small cloud of dust, rock, and snow. Broly smiled in sheer delight as he flew over to finish Vegeta until he heard, "Enough Broly, now you deal with me."

Anger filled Broly as he turned around to see Goku and Gohan standing on a rock opposite of him and Vegeta. The father and son then ascended to Super Saiyan three. They both wore orange gi's, Goku's hair reaching down behind his knees, while Gohan's shorter hair only came down past his shoulders. Electricity sparked and danced around their bodies as each flew to the right and left of Broly.

Vegeta crawled out of the small crater he crashed in, he was barely able to stay conscious after withstanding the barrage Broly launched at him. He looked at Goku and Gohan battling Broly in their third ascension. Broly looked like he was on his heels backing off from the two.

'Every time, you are always there, Kakarot,' Vegeta thought gripping the dirt in his tattered gloves.

'There to save me like some damsel in distress,' Vegeta then stood, balancing on his left leg. Rage started to fill his body until he could only see red, his body felt like it was going to snap in half from the tension that was building.

Vegeta stood tall and yelled, "I am the prince of the Saiyans! I command the strongest army in the universe! I will not be beaten!"

The battle between the three Super Saiyans stopped to witness Vegeta slowly floating in the air as energy was pouring out of his body. Vegeta's vision slowly started to return to him as his hair grew down past his knees.

"HE'S MINE, BACK OFF!" Vegeta yelled charging head on to a surprised Broly. Goku and Gohan backed off in surprise at Vegeta's new transformation. Vegeta sent a flurry of punches at Broly's stomach, the legendary Super Saiyan recoiling in pain with each hit. Vegeta then sent him flying into the air with a strong left kick. As Broly flew recklessly in the air, Vegeta appeared above him and jackhammered him straight to the ground only to beat him down and catch him with a fist.

"He ascended," Gohan whispered to his father. Goku only nodded in replying as he watched Vegeta with crossed arms.

Vegeta then proceeded to beat Broly until he was hanging onto life by a thread. He stomped Broly's ankles, resulting in them cracking and breaking, the same was done to his wrists. Broly stared at Vegeta with a look of fear in his eyes, Vegeta gazed back with just as much hatred as he did at the start of the battle.

"I don't know how you made it here, but I'm making sure you never come back," Vegeta said as he limped over to Broly who was writhing in agony and pain. With a swift chop of his arm, Broly's head slowly rolled down a slope down to the lake he was sleeping in. Vegeta then collapsed out of exhaustion, reverting to his base form.

"Go check on the boys," Goku told Gohan as he reverted to his base form. Gohan nodded, and flew to his brother and trunks as he reverted as well. The two boys were passed out in the ground, Gohan chuckled a little as he gave them a little shake to wake them up. They both stirred and started to sit up, bruises covered their bodies with identical bumps on their heads from earlier.

"Gohan!" Goten yelled hugging his brother.

"Haha, what's up squirt?" Gohan said.

"I don't know, we were looking for the dragonballs when that jerk came out of nowhere!" Goten exclaimed for emphasis.

"That was Broly, he's the Super Saiyan of legend whose sole desire in life is to kill and bring destruction. He has a grudge against dad, so somehow he must've seen or heard you and thought you were him," Gohan explained.

"Did you beat him, Gohan?" Trunks asked.

"No your dad did, he turned into a Super Saiyan three," Gohan said as he saw excitement fill Trunks' eyes.

"Let's go meet up with dad," Gohan said when they heard an explosion. Gohan flinched slightly before shooting to the air, Goku was flying towards the three with Vegeta over his shoulder. There was now a crater where Broly's body and head were.

'There's no need for the boys to know how violent Vegeta got when he transformed,' Goku thought to Gohan, Gohan nodded slightly in agreement.

"Well boys, I'm going to take you three back to Capsule Corp. and Bulma can heal you up, then me and Gohan have to go back to other world ok?" Goku chirped. The two nodded and the next thing they knew they were in the familiar garden of Bulma's mother.

Bulma and Chichi then came running out of the large building towards the five males.

"What happened?" Bulma gasped at the sight of her beaten husband.

"It's a long story, just know that Vegeta saved the day, we need to get him in a healing tank," Goku told Bulma.

"Um, yeah let's do that," Bulma said leading the way for Goku. Chichi blocked the path for Gohan and Goten as she smothered her two sons saying how she should never let them leave her sight. Trunks managed to slip in and quietly followed her mother and Goku.

"I know he used to be evil, I just thought he'd change by now," Bulma said.

"It's disturbing to see him like that, I always thought that he's changed too," Goku replied.

'What are they talking about,' Trunks thought keeping his energy suppressed.

"He was a completely different person once he hit three. I want to hope that if he trains that he can keep himself in check, but I really don't want to risk that either," Goku said laying Vegeta on a table in a medical lab.

"Yeah, but he was on our side, right?" Bulma asked.

Goku shook his head and answered, "I think he was on his own side and Broly was just on the other at the moment. I'd hate to imagine if that happens and it's someone who isn't nearly as strong as him."

Trunks heard enough and ran back outside to his Gohan and Goten and yelled, "What really happened Gohan?!"

Gohan looked a little surprised before answering, "Your dad beat Broly, Trunks. Me and my dad were fighting him when he transformed into a Super Saiyan three and demanded to fight him himself."

"What are you leaving out?!"

"Nothing Trunks, your father completely dominated Broly in a matter of minutes," Gohan said, he was thankful that he's become good at dodging questions thanks to Videl. Trunks realized he wasn't going to get any answers and stormed back inside.

"What was that about?" Chichi asked and Gohan just shrugged. Goku then walked out and over to his family. He hugged Chichi and kissed her on the cheek and said, "I'm sorry Chichi but me and Gohan aren't done yet, after today I think we have a lot more work we need to do."

Gohan nodded back at her and she sighed, "As if I can stop you anymore. School for Gohan really isn't an option anymore, last year was supposed to be his senior year."

"Think of it this way mom, you still have Goten!" Gohan said smiling at his younger brother who stuck his tongue out at him.

"We'll see, bye boys," Chichi said smiling. The two waved and vanished into thin air and Chichi sighed again, "Let's go home Goten."

Goku and Gohan reappeared on the sacred world of the Kai's where they were greeted by their friends. Before anything could happen, Goku pulled Shin aside while Gohan walked over to Videl. The two embraced and kissed as they walked over to a small hill and sat on it.

"I saw what happened," Videl said worried.

"I think that's what my dad is talking to Shin about. Trunks knows something happened, but he isn't sure what. Dad doesn't want me to tell him, I don't think I should either," Gohan explained.

"I mean, I knew Vegeta used to be evil, but he downright tortured Broly before finally killing him."

"I just think Vegeta lost his reasoning and was reacting on basic Saiyan instinct."

"And what would that be?"

"Well basically the same that made Broly downright evil."

"Does that mean all Saiyans have that?" Videl asked concerned.

"From what I can tell, comparing the Saiyans of Saiya to those I've met from Vegeta. The one's guarding Earth now aren't prone to as much violence, they're more mild I guess is a way to put it."

"Well that's a relief I guess," Videl said laying back.

"Yeah it is I guess. You know what will be a relief, when Goten and Trunks get the dragonballs together so we can get rid of this," Gohan said flicking Videl's halo. She shoved him playfully as the two laughed.

Yeah that took a while, sorry about that. Hope you guys like it at least. I did want to introduce a point that there's a difference between the Saiyans from Saiya and the ones from Vegeta, but that really won't come into play for a long time. Videl did develop her own technique, that'll be introduced soon. I also did try to make a play back to the basics, Gohan teaching Videl and interactions between Trunks and Goten while introducing new complications like the one with Vegeta.
