Chapter 13: Epilogue- Friendships
Beep beep beep
Groaning, my nose instantly caught the smell of rubber gloves and alcohol. My eyes fluttered open, greeted with a dimly lit room and noticed I was in the hospital. I glanced down and saw my body and injuries cleaned and bandages, an IV taped into my inner elbow and a small band around my wrist. The window was open and was giving me a nice breeze and the sun was setting outside, the clock saying it was 5:23 pm.I sighed, shifting around to get comfortable and just waited patiently. Seriously, they just left me here? What a bunch of bitches. I chuckled at my thought, genuinely wondering where everyone was at.
"Well this is boring," I sighed and slouched into the hard pillow.
After 20 minutes pass of me watching the sky get dimmer, I turned to the nurse' button and clicked it for assistance. A minute or two passed when a nurse entered, "Yes, Ms. Witwicky?"
"Um...where is every-"
Behind her my entire family, Mikaela and Sam walked in with gleaming smiles. In their hands were balloons, flowers and a small cake and all I could do was give them was the sweetest but also shocked smile and laugh ever.
"Surprise!"
"You guys didn't have to get me all this stuff," I laughed, shaking my head as they place the gifts around me and cake on my bedside table.
"Well...too bad because we did!" Sam smirked, cutting a piece of the cake and handing it over to me on a plate.
Red velvet, my favorite! I didn't complain and dug in as my family laughed and spoke to me about what happened the last couple of days. It had been almost 2 days since I was knocked out by that explosion and since then everything has calmed down.
"Bee's been worried about you," Sam chirped up, stuffing his mouth with cake.
Raising my brows in surprise, "He is? Hm, thought he thought I was a jerk."
He shook his head and let out a soft laugh and Aunt Judy placed a hand on me, "Don't you two ever do that again. I thought we lost you guys!"
Me and Sam sulked our heads in disappointment and we answered back synchronized, "We know..."
"And by the way you two are grounded like... for a majority of your life," Uncle Ron remarked, waving a fork at us and us rolling our eyes, groaning.
"Uncle Ron!"
"Nope I don't want to hear it!" He shook his head and focused back onto his cake.
Me and Sam were about to say something else but Aunt Judy gave us a stern look, silencing our complaints.
"Sel, what was that though? The shield?" Mikaela gave a curious look, everyone else also attentive to me.
I shrugged, pursing my lips and shaking my head, "No clue, it was almost impulsive...maybe Ratchet can check me up on it?"
My Uncle and Aunt tilted their heads in confusion, "Ratchet? Shield?"
The three of us laughed and shook our heads. They've got a lot to learn and I just hope it isn't too bad on them when I get out of this hospital. The rest of that evening we just quietly chatted about the adventure, me wondering what were the Autobots up to right now? I guess that's answer I have to wait on for two days since that's how long I'll be here. Lovely! Overall, I was just happy that everyone and everything was safe from harm's way now. All that mattered were these beautiful people around me as well as any machines watching over us right now. For once, I couldn't really complain.
1 Month Later
Bee parked into the slot of Greyhill Park which held the lake that me and Sam went to just a month ago before all this alien madness started. So far, the Autobots have been weeding out the rest of any leftover Decepticons but in all, everything was just steady and cool. Optimus and the team were building up to create a new operational base called NEST for the Autobots to work secretly so if any Decepticon ever decided to take over the world again. We'd be ready. Bee on the other hand spent most of his time around the house and protecting Sam.
"Hey, Sel! Pass me the blanket!"
I threw the picnic blanket to Sam. We were going to have a nice picnic out near the lake today with Mikaela, apparently studying also for their history test. I smiled as I saw Sam and Mikaela head under a tree near the lake hand in hand. I'm glad things worked out between them. Sam is still a little rotten idiot but I'm happy he's with a girl that doesn't push my buttons. They set out the food and quietly talked amongst them, me making my way over to the water and shuffling the wet dirt around. I began walking around the lake, farther and farther away from Sam and Mikaela and took in the scenery before me. It evening and sun was setting, creating this orange tinge in the sky, geese and swans flying all about the lake and the air with a cool wind. My mind reverted back to my mom, how she'd take me here sometimes when I was little, maybe that's why I liked going here a lot. She's been calling to see how I am, no idea I had ever been in Mission City. I still hadn't got a chance to ask Simmons about my father either. I guess that's all safe until next time.
"Having fun there?"
I gasped, accidentally misplacing my foot and sliding into the shallow end of the water onto my butt. This son of a bitch! My freaking pants were soaked as shit! Growling, I got up, waving my hands around to lose the dirty wet sand on it. I glared up at the bitch who was about to die, not expecting what I saw. It was...a boy. Yes a fucking boy. He had shaggy but also unkempt blonde hair, a slight shade of black on the under layer. An olive tan tone coated his skin, small freckles upon his cheek but not too much. He had almost a heart shaped face and stong jaw line, lips pouty but not too full with thick eyebrows forming an almost puppy dog look to his...baby blue eyes. He was about 5'11-6'0 tall, not too muscular but pretty lean. If this guy was at our school, where the hell have I been? He had on a white wife beater with black jeans but may I say that I have never met anyone so handsome in my entire life. My breath hitched as he gave me a one sided smile.
"Uh..." I only managed to prompt out.
He laughed jokingly, "You're all wet, you know."
I was suddenly jerked back into reality, raising eyebrows at him and flailing my arms angrily, "Yeah! All thanks to you, you asshole!"
"Ouch, I knew you were mean, never actually stooped down to see it," He chuckled, holding a hand out to me, "Here, let me-"
"Gladly!" I smirked deviously, gripping his wrist and dragging him into the water as well, "Not so fun when it's you huh."
He growled and a thought came into his head, "Aww, well don't you have a pretty face."
I dodged his attempt at trying to grab my face. Who the hell does this guy think he is? "Quit it. I don't even know you, sheesh."
I stomped out of the water, shaking my arms around and legs. I could hear him jogging up to me, just time to swiftly turn on my heel and knee him straight into the balls. He yelped, falling onto his knees while he caressed his now 'probably' bruised assets.
"I told you to leave me alone. I have someone here who could beat your ass up in a millisecond," I warned him, spitting through my teeth.
Still in pain, he managed to force a smile and looked up at me with those sky blue eyes. No Sel! This guy is a weirdo! Chuckling, he got up slowly, "And who may this be?"
Now quite nervous, I eyed where Bee was a couple feet away at the bottom of the hill parked in the spot. If Mr. Stalker over here doesn't leave the shit out of me right now, I have to make a run for Bee or Sam. Not because I was chicken trust me I'm not but I'm still trying to recover from Mission City and was still quite weak to where he might overpower me.
"S-someone, he's bigger than you no doubt so don't even try," I mentally cursed myself for stuttering. Now he knows I'm scared. "If I don't rip your face out now, I'm sure he will!"
"I'd like to see him try..." He gave me a dark smile before gripping a hand on my mouth and in lightning speed managed to pick me up off of my feet.
My eyes began watering as I tried to fight his restraint. It was useless though, he was too strong for me and I wasn't in the correct state to actually fight someone right now. He made his way near a dock and placed me on the ledge of it. Oh god, he was going to drown me. My cousin and guardian was just right there, I could make a run for it but I saw how fast he was. My breathing began to get hyperventilated and something warm ran down my eye. Damn you tears! It took the guy a minute or two to see my face and was genuinely shocked at it.
"Are you crying?" He asked in a soft concerning voice.
I didn't reply, putting my hands close to my body as tears flowed down my face, "You're a fucking bastard."
Giving me a sympathetic look, he laughed quietly, "That's sorta what you said the first time you saw me."
I froze in place. Now only stupidly realizing where those eyes were from. It couldn't make sense though, it can't be. My eyes furrowed at him, inspecting him closer, "B-Bee?"
"I sort of thought you were smart enough to know it was me," He gave a relieving breath and smiled.
"No way...Bee's a robot, you can't be him," I defended and got up on my feet, still trying to take in what I was seeing.
"I could've sworn Sam told you Ratchet was busy working the last month or so on something," He remarked, pointing a finger at me.
I did remember that actually! Ratchet had bought me in to figure out what was up with the whole shield situation. He only told me that it may have been absorbed into my blood and it only happens as a natural defense system. I can't force it out as of right now but with years of practice I may be able to. It was strange though, knowing I have energon in my blood. Luckily it hasn't changed anything of my human habits and physical well being. I had also seen Ratchet busily working on a computer which may have been this human project I saw that day too. During my time there though, I had witnessed many of the Autobots becoming fixed, especially poor Jazz who was barely hanging on as he was ripped in half from the bottom, luckily not affecting his Spark and Bee getting his legs reattached back.
Raising a brow, gesturing a hand to him, "This?"
Whatever the hell 'this' was.
He nodded with a grin on his face, "They're called Holoforms. I told Ratchet to make mine first because well, I wanted to-"
"Scare me? Intimidate me? Kidnap me?" I suggested, smirking at him teasingly.
He laughed loudly, "Definitely not honey, I just wanted to see what it feels like."
I shrugged, sitting back down next to him on the dock with our legs hanging off of it, "Being human? Or...close to it?"
He nodded and everything around us became still. As if me and him were the only ones that existed. My heart began to beat faster as his eyes locked on mine, my thoughts wondering what the hell is going on? I can't be having feelings for a robot! It's not realistic nor possible. I didn't care though because once I stared into that ocean of blue, everything within me melted.
"Be still..." He whispered, leaning in to me slowly.
I didn't deny and just obeyed what he said, staying still as I felt his delicious and warm breath fan my lips. My eyes drooped close, expecting to feel lips but instead felt a hand give my arm a forceful shove, my entire body collapsing into the water.
OH HELL TO THE FUCKING NO.
I got up to the surface and was about to let a rainbow of curse words fly out and attack Bee but stopped when he peeled his shirt off, jumping into the water with me. I squealed as the water splashed me, a mess of blonde hair rising from underneath. Once he got up, I let my arm swing on the surface and splashed him hard on the face.
He laughed when it hit him, deviously raising a brow, "Bee-otch."
Rolling my eyes at his pun, I spat back playfully, "Bastard."
He gave me a wave of water to the face too and I didn't care right now to be honest how we were or if people were staring, I was having fun and I was having fun with the person er, robot I never thought I'd get along with. I sighed contently as we floated farther away from the dock, now halfway in the middle of the lake. I gave him a cheeky smile, "You know Bee, I think this is the beginning of a wonderful friendship."
"I believe so too Ms. Witwicky," He returned a smile back at me.
We spent the entire afternoon playing in the water, happy and content. For the first time in my dramatic life I felt genuinely at peace. Everything was just wonderful right now and in place. Although, deep down inside I knew...no...I had a feeling it wasn't over but I guess I just had to wait what the future had in store for us. Whatever it was. we'll be ready. I'll be ready. Those Decepticons better watch what's coming to them before heading to Earth and messing with my family and new friends because the Autobots will tear you all apart.
And trust me and I shit you not.
So will I.
