Hello there all! It's me, Bridg! Or as I was called when I first started this fic, Zo. This message is a response to all the comments I have received in question as to why I have not continued this fic. So, let's tell a story:

I was fourteen and a budding writer when I started this series, with dreams of one day being a famous writer. The Percy Jackson series was my favorite book series of all time (and remains to be a favorite even to this day) and I had just discovered fan fiction. I had also just been introduced to Harry Potter. Right away, my mind drew some similarities between the two, and I just had to write about them being brothers. So I just started writing, with no plan and no end goal. I don't think I'd even the Goblet of Fire before starting.

Like most middle school ambitions, I had no idea what I was getting into. The time and dedication that it takes to write anything, let alone a story that would ideally perfectly combine two different worlds. And at fourteen, I had no idea how to do that. Which is why there are so many mistakes in this story. I didn't think any of my ideas through or consider real world practicalities when writing (which have impact even on fantasy stories). I had no idea how to give characters individual voice or even how to maintain their personalities from their original stories. What I thought was a masterpiece at fourteen, has now come to be realized as some pretty shoddy, sub-par work. Which is okay, that's how we grow! I stopped writing this story around the time I started High School, I believe, simply because life got busy. Everything was changing and I had a lot a family issues going on at the time as well. And slowly but surely, this fanfic drifted to the back of my mind and was eventually forgotten, including the email address I used that was connected to my account.

Recently, I checked that email's inbox again, just out of curiosity. And I was shocked to find that even now, that readers are still reading and commenting on my story! And I'm even more shocked to find that you enjoy and genuinely want it to be continued! I find it amazing that you all are able to find beauty in even a poorly written piece of work from my middle school days!

So much has changed since then! I've grown up, continued to hone my writing skills, and even moved to a different country! I can't believe how far I've come from the girl who first began typing this story. It warms my heart a little to look back on this and see where it was that I began. But that being said, I have to answer the question that you all have: will I be continuing this story?

And I'm truly sorry to say that I will not be continuing Brothers. I wish I could say that I'll return to it someday, but it's something I no longer have the time or motivation to do. It saddens me to know that this is a story that I will never finish telling, but so many good things have come from its conception! Every positive review left on this story, spurred my motivation to become a better storyteller, just as every negative one was like being stabbed in the heart (truly guys, be gently with your remarks on stories, especially here. There are many young writers on this site, and while constructive criticism is helpful, hurtful remarks are not).

I know it's hard to hear that a story you've become invested in will never be finished and I hate to do that to you. However, many of you reading this are probably writers yourself and I encourage you to take that talent and use it to create your own endings! You have a powerful gift, one that is often neglected. But when properly nurtured, there is no story you can't tell, no world you can't create. It will take hard work and dedication, but it all is worth it in the end.

This fanfiction was only the beginning of my love of writing and I have all of you who've read and encouraged my writing to thank for that. Keep reading, keep writing, keep imagining. The world will never have enough creators.

Love, Bridg/Zo
