Warnings: Death

It was an accident.

They had been fighting—something they hadn't done seriously in a long time. Zoro's swords were out, and Sanji's legs were attacking. The crew hadn't taken it seriously. They almost missed the fights between the two. Nami and Robin, lounging in their law chairs, paid no mind to the clang of steel and the thumb of boots. Luffy, Usopp and Chopper went back to their card game.

It was an accident.

Sanji wasn't sure what happened. One minute he was aiming to kick the shit head in the face, something that was well deserved though he couldn't remember what they where fighting about and the next—

Zoro's face scared him.

He'd never seen the swordsmen look so lost, shocked and confused.

He let out a cough, staggering back a bit. Blood coated his chin as it started to seep through his dress shirt and into his suit jacket. Reaching a shaky hand up, he touched the blade that was embedded in his chest. Zoro's hands where shaking, his grip was loose. When Sanji's leg gave out and he fell back onto the deck, it took him a moment to dive down and wrap his shaking arms around him.

By then the others had noticed. Nami had looked over to check on them, and upon seeing Zoro's sword in Sanji's chest, them on the floor, she let out a scream. Her scream alerted the others, causing their heads to whip to her as she ran down and over to them.

One of Zoro's hands was pawing over Sanji's face, just touching and smearing blood everywhere in shock as the other floated over his chest—unsure of what to do. For once in his life—he didn't know what to do concerning his sword.

His mind was blank.

Sanji's eyes were wide, staring up at him in shock as he made gasping noises. Finally—Chopper was upon them. The rest was a blur, yelling at Usopp to hurry and get his bag—Luffy shoved Zoro back screaming at him, wondering what had happened. After seeing Zoro's face, he froze and turned back to Sanji.

Everything was going so slow, not even a full five minutes had passed and it felt like it had been hours. It was so loud with the noises of the crew, but the loudest noise of all was Sanji's gasping and shuddering breaths.

Zoro thought he heard something along the lines of 'too much blood' 'not going to make—'

Nearly diving across the small space between himself and Sanji, he leaned forward and cupped the cooks face. A look of horror dawned on him as he realized how pale he'd gotten in such a short time and how foggy his gaze was.

"S-Sanji," He whispered.

The others where still moving around him, but he paid them no mind. He wasn't dumb, he didn't want to admit what was happening but—he wasn't dumb.

Sanji made eye contact with him, and Zoro leaned down to kiss him quickly not caring about the blood in his mouth.
