Mello knew not to leave the hotel room. But every single inch of him wanted to. Near already had the deathnote, and now all Mello had to do was wait. Matt tried to calm him, distract him with the news. Every now and then, a joke would settle Mello down for a minute or so. On day three of living in the hotel, agent Tillman recieved a call from Near.

"It is done. We have defeated Kira. Mello, Matt, stay in the hotel."

The moment that Tillman left, Matt jumped on the bed next to Mello. "You did it." He said, tracing a hand along the blond's upper thigh.

Mello sighed "yes, but Near will get all the credit."

Matt simply laughed. "Well then, you can take the credit for the next case you guys solve together."

Mello rolled his eyes "And what makes you think I'm working with the sheep ever again?"

Matt looked at him, leaned over and kissed his cheek "Because you liked it. And because you did it. Both of you, not only one. You did what L wanted. You and Near did. What he always wanted. You worked together."

Mello rolled his eyes
"And you Avenged him" Matt finished.
