I just want to address something. In the past I have gotten reviews that were mean or just...no. And I think I speak for many when I say:
Please , if you have nothing nice to say or advice on how to improve, please don't say anything. If you can't be nice then just stop reading the fanfic. No one is stopping you. If you don't like it or it's not something you are enjoying then please, just leave the fic. It's not funny, it's not cool, and trolling is just wrong okay? Too many lives are lost to bulling, especially cyber bullying. Just keep that in mind, please.
Moving on!
To Bunnylover152: Kaida dueling Nightshoud? That sounds awesome! I just got to figure out how their duel will go. I might keep it canon depending, cause I definitely want her to duel Camula because of Zane.
To Guest (the one who wants psychic vampire slaying): That would be badass! I can see the duel ending early because Kaida's powers throw Camula into her creepy soul sucking (pun intended) gate and just automatically winning even though they aren't even halfway through the duel. I'm gonna have fun with that so thanks for the idea.
To Clarent excalibur: first, awesome name. Second, that is an idea. I was originally thinking of doing that for season three what with the duel ghouls, but I could definitely do both. Now we're you thinking just some rando or someone she knows? Like Alexis or Chazz. Just to up the guilt factor? I'm mean like that.
Anyway please enjoy this chapter!
Disclaimer: I only own Kaida and some of her deck. That's it.
Chapter 6: Monkey See, Monkey Duel
I leaned back into my deck chair, stretching my arms above my head. I let out a sigh of relief as my back cracked, releasing the tension that had formed from the last couple of hours. I had finally finished my report on what happened with Chazz Princeton.
It took a while but I finally remembered why he looked so familiar. He was the youngest brother of the Princetion Group, the ones that kept trying to get Dad to sell the Academy to them for some stupid world domination plot them have. I've only seen Chazz maybe 3 times in my life before his duel with Bastion, so it's not a surprise that I didn't recognize him.
Alexis on the other hand, I had never met until that duel. But, Attie talked about her nonstop and showed me pictures growing up. He was always so proud of her...
After the duel, I caught up with the two Obelisks and introduced myself to Alexis. It was a little shocking to hear that she knew who I was. Apparently her brother would come home and tell her all sorts of stories about what the three of us would do when he and Zane came over. She said that even though this was the first time we have truly met in person, it was like she's known me her entire life. I told her that I knew the feeling.
We had lunch later that day, just the two of us. It was nice to have someone to talk to about Attie that wasn't Zane. It was also nice to have a girl friend to talk about stuff that wasn't the typical crap about boys and makeup or crap like that.
"Oh crap!" I jumped out of my deck chair, seeing the time.
I was gonna be for class. I ran next door, grabbed my brother and dragged him to class without so much as a "good morning".
I can already tell it was gonna be one of those days...
"Jaden! It's awful! Chazz is gone!" Syrus said gunning down the stairs of the classroom.
"And that's awful how?" Jaden asked confused.
"Well, gee, I don't know." The shorter boy said. "Because he's your big duel rival?"
"You're right!" Jay said. "I need my competition!"
"I think you have enough 'competition' Jay." I said, raising an eyebrow at him.
"Hey, ya know, I saw Chazz packing his stuff late last night." Some Obelisk guy said to his friends, drawing the attention of everyone.
"Know why? 'Cause he lost to that Ra!" His friend said.
"Bastion, wasn't it?" The first one asked.
"Yeah and that Slifer Slacker, too!"
"Yeah, if you can't beat the ketchup and mustard team, good riddance." The third one said.
"What a bunch of jerks!" Jaden and I said.
"I'll tell ya, if those were the only friends I had, I'd probably run a way, too." Jay said.
"Wait, those are Chazz' friends?" I asked in shock.
The boys looked at me and nodded. "Yeah since day one." Syrus said. "Jaden?"
"Hmm?"
"Well, I know Chazz has been a pain in the past, but what if he's in some trouble and needs us to help him?"
"Good point." Jaden said, standing. "The right thing to do would be to go look for him."
"Yeah, so when should we go?" Syrus asked.
"Right now, Sy. After all, it's also a great excuse to sneak outta class! Ha ha!"
"If Mom and Dad find out about this Jay, you'll be grounded until you grow facial hair!"
"All clear!" Jaden said.
"I can't believe we're doing this." I grumbled, as the three of us crawled out a hole leading to the outside of the school. "Mom and Dad are gonna skin us."
"Ya know, you didn't have to come with us Kai." Jay said, helping me up.
"Are you crazy? The last time I left you alone, you became a runaway. This way I can keep an eye on you and try to keep you out of trouble, brother dearest."
"You know," a familiar voice said, scaring us. "The school does have regular doors." We turned to see Alexis and her friends Mindy and Jasmine standing there.
"Aw man, if I had known you were coming too, I would have walked out with you instead of getting coved in dirt." I sighed.
"Oh, hey, Alexis! I bet you're wonderin' what we're doin' out here." Jay said as we walked over to them.
"I doubt it since you practically announced to the entire class that we were going out to find Chazz." I said, grumpily dusting myself off.
"Well, we were just, uh, gettin' an early start on our homework." Jaden lied badly.
"Yeah, right. You're looking for Chazz and we're going to come with you." Alexis said, smirking.
"Really? Since when do you guys ditch class?"
"Chazz is an Obelisk Blue and we take care of our own!" Alexis said.
And just like that the six of us were off to look for the wayward student.
"Chazz! Chazz!" Jay called.
"Come on out." Sy called.
"Yeah, we're worried about you! Ya scrub!"
"Are you hoping that by insulting him, we'll be able to find him better?" I asked, incredulously.
"You got a better idea Sis?"
"That's it." Alexis said, hands on her hips. She took a deep breath and lifted he hands to the sides of her mouth. "Chazz, you little toad, if this is some kind of trick, you better hope that we don't find you! You got that?!"
"Yeah, threaten him. That'll bring him runnin'." Jay said.
"It has worked on lesser men." I said.
"Ya know, I'm sure there's a good reason Chazz ran off." Jasmine said.
"Yeah! Like, maybe he just snuck out to get me flowers. My Chazzy's so romantic!" Mindy gushed.
"Is her head on straight?" I couldn't help asking Alexis.
"I'm not entirely sure sometimes." She said.
"Ew./Chazzy?" The boys said.
"You like Chazz? Last week, it was Bastion. Who's next, little Syrus?" Jasmine asked.
"Well, he is cute." Mindy said.
Seriously, is her head on straight?
"Hmm." Alexis was looking off into the forest.
"What is it?" Jay asked.
"Look there! Something's moving!" She said, pointing to a cluster of bushes.
"I don't see anything." I said. "Are you sure?"
"Chazzy?" Mindy called.
The bushes shook.
"Must be." Syrus said.
"Alright! Game's over, we found ya. Come on out!" Jaden said, as we all walked closer.
"Jay I don't think that's Chazz." I said, cautiously. I had a bad feeling about this.
"Sure it is. Chazz?" Suddenly a monkey covered in weird tech jumped out and screamed, causing us to scream.
Then it attacked us!
I felt rough hands grab and pull me away. I looked down and saw the monkey holding me.
Did I just get kidnapped by a monkey?
"JADEN! THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!" I screamed as the monkey carried me away into the trees. "I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU FOR THIS! YOU'RE A DEAD MAN!"
I never should have left class!
You're gonna pay for this Jaden Kaiba!
3rd POV
Jaden and the others were on the floor in shock.
"Not Chazz." Alexis said.
"Not human, either!" Syrus said. "What was that thing?"
Suddenly, three men came crashing through the bushes causing the group to freak out again, but they calmed down when they realized it was humans this time.
"What now?" Alexis asked.
"He's gone." Said one of the men.
Three men had come out of the surrounding forest. A brown haired guy with a bright colored gun, a much taller black haired guy, and a very short older guy. All three were wearing suits, the two younger ones in black and the older one in brown.
Suddenly they all heard a scream.
"Kai?" Alexis asked, as the group realized that they were missing a person.
"Up in those tree!" Jaden said.
They all looked up and saw Kaida in the arms of the monkey.
"JADEN! THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!" Jaden's sister screamed as the monkey got farther away. "I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU FOR THIS! YOU'RE A DEAD MAN!"
He shivered at the feeling of dread that suddenly came over him. Kaida was either going to do something horribly embarrassing to him or have one of her Dragons chase him until she felt merciful.
This was going to suck.
"It's every girls dream come true. Some guy to sweep her off her feet." Mindy said.
"Yeah some guy, not some monkey." Jasmine said.
"PUT. ME. DOWN. NOW!" They heard Kaida scream as they jumped from tree to tree.
"Over there!" The brown haired guy said.
"Move!" The older man ordered.
"Wait! What's going on?!" Syrus said, as they started going after the three newcomers. "What is that thing?"
"Who cares? It's got Kai, we've gotta follow it." Jaden said.
1st POV
"Let me go! I'm telling you I'm not your type!" I said to the monkey, hoping for some kind of sign that he understood me as we went deeper in the forest.
"I know a couple of girl monkeys that would be a much better fit!" I said as we crossed over a lake.
"I'm high maintenance! Trust me my issues have issues!" I cried as we came to a clearing. "Please let me go!"
The monkey put me down and I looked at my surroundings. I could smell the ocean an that caused me to look down. The monkey put me on a bent tree that grew on the edge of a cliff.
Directly over the water...
I wrapped my arms around the monkey, suddenly very, very afraid.
"Don't you dare let me go!" I yelled, just as some men I didn't recognized arrived.
"Aim the tranq, McFee." The taller one said to the guy with the gun. "And fire when ready."
Do what now?!
And risk me falling to my possible death?!
Are these guys crazy?!
"Are you crazy?!" I screamed.
The gunman took aim and the monkey grabbed my arm and shifted out positions on the tree as it growled.
The message was clear.
'Shoot and I drop her.'
I'm gonna kill Jaden for this!
"Blast!" The tall one said, realizing the same thing I did. "We cant tranq him, or else he'll drop the girl!"
"Hey, that monkey has a duel disk on!" I heard Jaden say, as he on the others entered the clearing.
"You're right." I heard Syrus say.
"It's either that or a really funny-looking banana." Jaden joked.
"Stop admiring it and help me!" I yelled at them.
"That's no banana!" The shorter man said.
Seriously? They were gonna have a whole conversation while I'm being held hostage by a monkey?
Unbelievable...
"And that's no regular monkey." He continued. "His name's Wheeler! He's a trained duelist!"
"A dueling monkey?" Jaden asked, as the others gasped in surprise.
I glanced at the monkey- at Wheeler- and knew something was up. There was no way something shady was not going on. First off, Wheeler wouldn't have escaped if that were the case. Second, I knew for a fact that there was no way Dad would have allowed animal testing on the island. This screams illegal, and I'm gonna make sure that they paid for it.
As soon I got out of this mess that is.
"Sir." The tall goon said.
"Hmm? Oh, yes. I forgot, top secret." The short one said.
"Wait if he duels, let me duel him." Jaden said.
"Duel him?" The short on - obviously the boss's asked, incredulously. "Can't you see we have a situation here?"
Yeah Jaden! Can't you?!
Is he crazy?
But I had to put faith in my brother, cause I'm pretty sure those creeps could care less if something happens to me.
I just hope Jay knows what he's doing.
"Uh, yeah. That's why I wanna duel him." Jaden said.
"Jaden, are you feeling okay?" Syrus asked, obviously worried.
"He's not sick. He's just gone crazy." Alexis said, unknowningly agreeing with me.
"Look, I bet if I beat this monkey, he'll hand over Kaida!" Jaden explained. "I mean it's only fair!" He runs closer to us. "So how 'bout it, Wheeler? Ready to get you game on? That's right, banana-breath! Put the girl down and let's settle this like men, or, uh, higher primates or whatever."
Wheeler bring me closer to him in response.
"Gotta hand it to him. They are communicating." Syrus said.
Yeah, cause Jay is half-monkey.
"I don't get how that monkey understands him." Mindy said.
"Maybe all the training he's had has taught Wheeler how to speak human." Alexis said.
"Or maybe Jaden's really a monkey." Jasmine said, voicing my thoughts.
"Okay, so I win, Kaida's free." Jaden said.
"And if you lose?" I couldn't help but ask.
"If I lose? Wow, I didn't really think of that." He said.
"Jaden, I'm going to kill you." I growled.
He winced. "Okay, If Wheeler wins the duel, then we let him go."
"Let him go? Then what happens to me, moron?!"
"Look, he's not gonna win, so don't worry about it okay sis?"
"You lose Jay, and I tell Mom -and Dad- everything you have ever kept secret from them. And if you think for one second I'm bluffing, then you are sadly mistaken. I know everything, remember that Jaden." I threatened.
Wheeler nodded and put me down safely on the tree before going over to the medium flat rock that was nearby. He actives the duel disk, just as Jaden managed to get one too.
"Wow, uh, you really know how to work that thing, don't ya?" Jaden quipped.
"I hope this works." You and me both Alexis.
"Alright, Wheeler, let's throw down!" My brother said, activating his duel disk.
"I have a shot!" McFee said, aiming the tranqgun.
"No! This duel is just the kind of field test we've been waiting for." The boss said.
"Ready or not, let's duel!" Jaden said.
"Duel!" Said a computerized voice that came from Wheeler, causing Jaden to freak.
So that's what all that tech does. I carefully got my P.D.A. out and started to record the duel and get those three on camera.
There was no way I wasn't going to send this to my Dad.
"Whoa! It talks?" Syrus asked.
"Please, that would be completely unrealistic." The boss said.
Oh and a dueling monkey isn't?
"His helmet reads his mind and talk for him."
(Wheeler 4000)
(Jaden 4000)
"Here it goes!" Jaden drew. "Go Elemental HERO Sparkman!"
Sparkman (Atk: 1600/Def: 1400)
"Alright, monkey, you saw my moves. Now do yours! Get it? 'Monkey see, Monkey do'?" Jaden quipped.
"This isn't the time for jokes, idiot! And that wasn't even good!" I said, climbing a little higher on the tree.
"My turn! My turn!" Wheeler drew. "Berserk Gorilla, attack mode!"
A large angry gorilla appeared on the field. (Atk: 2000/Def: 1000)
"What's he, family?" Jaden asked. "Guess now we know who got the good looks."
"Berserk Gorilla! Attack Sparkman! Attack! Attack!" Wheeler chattered.
Berserk Gorilla charged and punched Sparkman, destroying him.
(Jaden 4000 - 3600)
Wheeler backflipped a few times in celebration. "Now, one card facedown. Facedown." A card appeared behind his monster. "Monkey see, Monkey do better. I make monkey out of you, you, you!"
'Come on Jay, keep it together...' I thought seeing Jaden get angry.
"Jaden's losing the duel!" Syrus said.
"Yeah, and he's losing his cool, as well." Alexis said.
"But then how could you not? I mean he is getting beat by a monkey." Jasmine said.
"Hey, come on, gimme a break! The duel just started!" Jaden told them. "And it's about to heat up! Watch this!" He drew a card. "Perfect! I play the magic of Polymerization! With it, I fuse Elemental HERO Avian with Elemental HERO Burstinatrix to summon Elemental HERO Flame Wingman!"
A familiar red and green monster with one white wing, a dragon head for a left arm, and a red tail appeared on the field. (Atk: 2100/Def: 1200)
"Now with Flame Wingman's help, I really will lose my cool! Go, Infernal Rage!"
Flame Wingman launched a stream of fire at Berserk Gorilla, destroying it.
(Wheeler 4000 - 3900)
"And I'm not done yet. Next I'll use Flame Wingman's super power! You lose Life Points equal to what destroyed monster's attack points were! Now how is your cool?"
Wheeler chattered in shock...I think.
"Awesome. Now Wheeler will lose 2000 Life Points! Nice Jaden!" Syrus said.
"Yeah, but not so nice for our furry little friend." Alexis said.
Wheeler cried out as Flame Wingman floated down in front of him and launched another fire blast at the monkey directly.
(Wheeler 3900 - 1900)
"I'm the man!" Jaden said excitedly. "I mean not that you could be, but ya know? Wheeler? Hello? You callin' it quits already?"
"So is that it? Does that mean Wheeler's finished?" Syrus asked.
The boss laughed. "Oh please. He just made one little mistake. That's all. But he won't make it again."
"Huh?"
"Believe me. It's all part of his training. You see, back at the lab, if he made a mistake twice, he'd be harshly punished. We poked and prodded him that way for years. No, he won't give up. He'll just get better."
So they tortured him...
I think I'm gonna be sick...
I'm definitely gonna make them pay...
"Poked and prodded?" Syrus asked.
"Top secret?" The tall goon reminded.
"Oh, right. Uh, never mind."
"So monkey, you callin' it quits or what?" Jaden asked.
Wheeler growled. "Never surrender! Never!"
"That's the spirit, yeah! Alright then! Game on!"
Wheeler drew. "I summon Acrobat Monkey! Monkey!"
A blue and white robotic monkey appeared on the field. (Atk: 1000/Def: 1800)
"Next I play my facedown. Trap! Trap! DNA Surgery, go!"
"DNA Surgery? That changes all the monsters on the field to what ever type monster that monkey chooses!" I said.
"I choose Beast-type, Beast-type!"
The trap card caused both monsters to change. Acrobat Monkey had a more Monkey appearance to him and Flame Wingman turned more Dragon-like.
"Now I play Wild Nature's Release!"
"Wild Nature's Release?" Alexis repeated. "That spell card will increase the attack points of one Beast-type of Beast-Warrior-type monster on the field by the value of its defense points. Wow this monkey is getting better."
"Which means for Jaden! It's gonna get worse." Syrus said.
"Acrobat Monkey! Power up! Power up!"
Acrobat Monkey's armor started to crack and break as his muscles grew from the power of Wheeler's Spell Card.
Acrobat Monkey (Atk: 1000 - 2800/Def: 1800)
"Uh-oh!" Jay said.
"Now, Acrobat Monkey, attack! Somersault Smash!"
Acrobat Monkey pounded its chest before curling up and spun as it attacked Flame Wingman, destroying him.
(Jaden 3600 - 2900)
Acrobat Monkey clutched at its head in pain before it too exploded.
"Wait a sec. I don't get it. What just happened? Anyone?" Syrus asked.
"When Wild Nature's Release is used on a monster, that monster's destroyed at the turn's end." Alexis explained.
"Your turn! Your turn!" Wheeler said.
"Nice moves, Wheeler, but no banana yet! Now here goes, draw!" Jaden said. "I'm gonna play—huh?"
I heard a chattering noise and looked to a couple of medium sized rocks. A whole troop of monkeys watching the duel.
"What are they doing here?" I wondered. Then an thought hit me, and I glanced over at Wheeler.
Could they be...?
"Uh-oh. More Monkeys!" Syrus said.
"It's like an entire tribe of them!" Mindy said.
"Oh my." The tall goon gasped.
"That's why you're tryin' to escape, isn't it? To get back to your family!" Jaden said coming to the same conclusion I did.
"Must win! Miss family! Miss family!" Wheeler said.
"Look, pal. I know you wanna get back with your family, but I need to get back my family. That girl you took is my sister, my family. So unless you let her go, I gotta beat ya. Which means I gotta summon the Elemental HERO Clayman."
Clayman (Atk: 800/Def: 2000)
"Don't forget! Don't forget! DNA Surgery! Clayman turns into a Beast-type."
Clayman transforms into a brown colored beast with a chest plate.
"Fine with me! That's not gonna matter when I play this! Read it and weep! Courageous Charge!" Jaden said.
I remenber that Card. I gave that to him for our birthday two years ago from Kame Games.
"Oh, yeah! Here's how it goes down. I take one of my monsters with 1000 attack points or less and pay 1000 Life Points.
(Jaden 2900 - 1900)
"Then if my monster does damage to your Life points in battle, you also take damage equal to his defense points. Pretty sweet, huh? Now Elemental HERO Clayman, attack Wheeler with Clay Clobberer!"
Clayman punched at Wheeler, sending a phantom fist through the monkey.
(Wheeler 1900 - 1100)
"And now that is to Courageous Charge, his 2000 attack points are dealt to ya, too!"
(Wheeler 1100 - 0)
Wheeler fell to his hands and knees, panting.
"Alright! He won!" Syrus said.
I stopped recording and sent the video to the Chancellor and Dad. I also sent a quick message to Shephard with our location for Campus Security.
"Fair's fair." Jaden said, as the dueling holograms disappeared. "Time you let Kaida go."
Wheeler took a moment before he came back over to me and picked me up, giving me to Jaden.
"Kaida!" Everyone cried, coming over to me.
I hugged Jaden.
"I'm still going to kill you but thanks for saving me, big brother." I told him.
"You're welcome Kai. But think to can kill me tomorrow?" I laughed a little, and nodded.
"I'm so glad your safe Kaida." Alexis said giving me a hug.
"So are we!" Mindy said.
"Jay." He looked over at me. "What are we gonna do about Wheeler? We can't let those guys take him."
"He shouldn't have snatched Kaida, but he still deserves better then those needle poking scientist guys." Jasmine said, agreeing with me.
"Alright, you flea-ridden failure, let's go." The tall goon said, as the three came over to take Wheeler back to their lab.
"Hold it! He doesn't belong with you!" Jaden said, blocking their path. "He belong out here in nature. He belongs with his family. So that's where we're gonna leave him, got it?"
"Huh?/What?" The goons asked.
"Then he can pick grubs, eat berries, and, ya know, other monkey stuff." Jay continued.
"It's alright Wheeler." Syrus called out to the monkey. "We won't let them take you back to the lab!"
"'Cause if ya do! I'll call the TV stations!" Alexis said.
"And I'll call the newspapers!" Mindy said.
"And it's goodbye, top secret!" Jasmin finished.
"Enough nonsense. Out of out way!" The tall goon and McFee rushed at Jaden to get to Wheeler, pushing my brother aside. The tall one threw a net on Wheeler.
"Stop it!" Jaden and I yelled.
"You think that your threats scare me? Please your just some kid." The boss said as he passed by us. "Who's going to believe you? Not only will my lab work continue, but it will grow larger."
"How's that?" Jaden asked.
"Because I'm taking them all!" The boss said, as McFee aimed at the other monkeys. "Your friend won't miss his family. They'll all be there in cages with him."
Suddenly Pharaoh came out of no where and attacked McFee, causing him to drop his gun.
"Tsk-tsk, Pharaoh. Naughty kitty." Said the familiar accent of one Professor Banner.
"Professor Banner!" We said.
Did the Chancellor send him here that quickly? It's been less then ten minutes since I sent that message. It's possible that he was already looking for us when Shephard messaged the teachers and Campus Security.
"Who are you?" The boss asked, as Banner walked up to them with Pharaoh in his arms.
"Oh, you know. Just your average teacher/duelist." Banner kicked the gun up into his hand.
Okay that was cool.
"Animal lover, if you gentlemen catch my drift." Banner looked over at me as the boss gritted his teeth. "Miss Kaida, I've been informed about you and have been told to tell you that you have permission to use any means necessary to keep them here until Security arrives." A maniacal grin stretched out on my face.
Hell yes!
"Jaden let me borrow you duel disk." I said.
Jaden looked at me, confused but then understanding showed on his face and he nodded as he handed it to me. "Have fun."
I quirked a smile. "Thanks I will." I activated it and adjusted my bracelet, feeling my powers flow through me more then they already do.
I pulled two cards out of deck and inserted them into the duel disk.
"Kunai with Chain, tie them up!" I commanded as three chains appeared and wrapped themselves around the three, the kunais tying themselves together. "Swords of Revealing Light, keep them from going anywhere." Several glowing swords appeared and surrounded them in a makeshift jail.
"You three aren't going anywhere. At least not until Campus Security shows up. You see, I've been recording ever since this duel started and since your boss seems to forget what 'top secret' means when he's bragging to a bunch teenagers about your highly illegal animal experimentation on a privately owned island that I know you have no permission to be on, I've got enough evidence for Chancellor Sheppard to sent to Seto Kaiba to have your entire organization thrown in jail for a very long time."
"Whoa! How'd you do that?" Syrus asked as he and the girls had looks of shock on their faces.
I grinned sheepishly. "It's a long story. I'll tell you later." I turned to Wheeler. "For now let's get all this stuff off of you."
Campus Security came quickly and took the goons away and assured us that their lab would be cleaned completely in the next few days. I took all of the computer stuff off of Wheeler, with the intention of sending it to Dad.
I left the duel disk on since he didn't want to let off of it just yet. Once it was all off, Wheeler rushed off to his family. He turned back to us and bowed his head a few time to express his gratitude. Guess he picked up a could of human habits after all.
"Aw, look it's like a family reunion." Syrus said.
"It is." Jasmine said.
"Hey, let's duel again sometime!" Jaden called out.
Wheeler grinned and waved his duel disk clad arm at us, letting us know that he would look forward to it.
"Me too! That was a super fun match." Jaden said, doing his signature salute.
Um what?
"Uh, Jaden, his talky helmet is gone, ya know?" Syrus said, just as Wheeler and his family left.
"That was a close one." Mindy said. "If the Professor wouldn't have shown up, they would have taken him away for sure!"
"How'd ya find us, Professor?" Alexis asked.
"Like i said, I love animals. Of course, it would be hard not to be with a cat who can track as well as Pharaoh." Banner said. "Plus Kaida sent a message to Chancellor Sheppard with your coordinates, so I knew exactly where you all were."
"I wanted to make sure Campus Security could find us so they could get those creeps." I explained to the questioning looks.
"Okay, but why were you looking for us in the first place?" Jaden asked.
"We skipped class, Jaden, and you practically announced to the entire class that you were going to skip to look for Chazz." I said.
"Well you are not wrong, but I wanted to tell you children that Chazz is okay." Banner said.
"That's good news." Jay said.
"Sure is." Syrus agreed.
Mindy and Jasmine giggles in relief.
If it wasn't for the fact that we just put a whole organization of animal abusers away, I would have been a lot more pissed at the fact that we just spent a good chunk of the day looking for Chazz when we could of just asked a teacher.
"Of course, there is some bad news, as well." Banner said, cutting the celebration short. "Here, come with me."
We followed Banner to the docks. When we got there, he started to explain. "You see, Pharaoh tracked him here to the docks. But when I arrived, he was already leaving on his family's personal yacht."
He left the school just because a couple of his classmates beat him in a duel?
What a rich, pretentious brat.
"Well, that's a shame." Jaden said.
"Yeah, I guess." I said, not wholly convinced.
"He did make things interesting." Syrus said.
"My Chazzy." I heard Mindy say.
Seriously! Is her head on straight?!
"Well, I'm sure he'll be back someday." Jaden said, trying to be positive.
"Me too." Syrus nodded.
Alexis nodded as well.
"After all, good rivals are hard to find."
"Trust me Bro, you of all people will not have that problem."
"Yes, and do you know what is not?" Banner asked. "Class. And since you cut out early today, we have some making up to do. So let's go."
"Aw!/Oh, man!/ Oh!" The others complained, at the same time.
"Can I at least shower? I'm pretty sure I smell like monkey."
"Of course, Kaida."
That night
"Any word from Dad on the lab situation?" Jaden asked, as he entered my dorm room.
"Not yet. But knowing him, along with the video evidence, we should hear from him in the next couple of days to give us an update." I said packing up the last of Wheeler's helmet computer.
"Why are you keeping that thing? Hope it to use it on your next boyfriend?" Jaden asked, teasing me.
"That would imply that I've had a boyfriend before. But for your information, I'm sending it to Uncle Mokuba so he can analyze it. I'm hoping that it will give Dad all the information on Wheeler's biometrics and stress responses to use as more evidence against those creeps. I'm also hoping that we could use the technology to help people who are mute."
"Oh, that's right! I forgot about your pet project Mom and Dad helped you start. It was research on helping those who are mute and/or deaf either from birth or an accident to help them communicate with people better. Right?"
I nodded. "I'm surprised that you remembered. This helmet is just the right step I need for my project. So far the only progress I've actually made is fundraising and adding to research on surgery for the deaf to have even the slightest chance and the upgrade on hearing aids. But I've had no way into how to help mutes. Now I do. If R&D can somehow reverse engineer this thing using the notes that the lab had, I can finally start making real progress."
"Don't worry! KC has the best of the best! You'll get it sis!"
I smiled. "Thanks Jay. I appreciate the support."
"Not a problem sis. Night!"
"Night!"
That's it!
At first I wasn't sure if I wanted to keep the episode canon or is I wanted to stray off the beaten path. I asked my mom and she told my to go for the path and I did.
I mostly wanted Kai to yell at Jaden so there was also that.
So far it's: Nightshroud, Camula and Abidos the Third.
Should Kaida duel anyone else during the Shadow Riders Arc?
Let me know!
Also I hope everyone is safe and being careful during this pandemic. Please remember to cover your face and wear gloves when you go out. If you don't have gloves, please do not touch your face until you wash them thoroughly with warm water and soap.
And I just want to say thank you all those out on the front lines. Thank you so much for all that you are doing in this crazy time.
Please review!
