When my parents left, my father was back to his usual stern self and my mother was still teary eyed. I was lectured by my father about how wrong it was of me to suddenly leave, and then about how I shouldn't place my future on a farm but if it's what I wanted then I couldn't come crying back to them. I assured him I made quite a profit on my farm, but he didn't seem too convinced. We promised to keep in touch and then they were on their way.

By that time, it was late and Cam was already home. He left halfway through to give us some time alone. I wanted to find him and thank him again for what he did, but I was a little nervous. I know it must have been hard for him to stand up to my parents like that. He's never been that open right off the bat. The fact he did it for me made me feel all mushy inside. And a bit guilty. I didn't want to get him involved with my family problems, but I guess it worked out in the end. His convincing me to send that letter actually helped me in the long run.

I stood at the entrance to my farm for what seemed like forever, replaying everything that's happened today. Then I began to think about how far I've come since I ran away. I've grown into a better, stronger person because of it. I learned so much and I've met a lot of great people. I smiled to myself, feeling content with my life for the first time.

Before thinking about it, I took off towards town and to the café. I slowly opened the door, checking for anyone inside. The café was closed by now and I assumed Laney and her father were upstairs. I knew it wouldn't be a problem if I went in, seeing as I've done it before to visit her. I closed the door softly behind me and made my way to Cam's bedroom door. I tapped on it quietly and waited for a response. Nothing happened. I didn't want to just barge my way in so I knocked again, thinking if he didn't answer he must be asleep or not here. I was about to back away when the door suddenly opened, and Cam's face appeared in the opening. He looked surprised.

"Lillian?" He opened the door all the way. "What are you doing here? Is something wrong?"

I shook my head. "No, I just wanted to thank you again for today. You really made a difference."

He smirked a little and said, "Well, I wasn't about to let them take the girl I love away."

My eyes widen and I felt my face heat up. Then I couldn't help but smile. "I'm glad you stopped them. I didn't want to be taken away from the man I love."

He pulled me into a hug and I happily returned it. I rested my head against his chest, focusing on his heartbeat. We stood like that for some time before he pulled away, only to catch my face in his hands and place a kiss on my lips. I wrapped my arms around his neck, feeling like I was in total bliss.

…..

About a week later, I was getting ready to leave my house. Just as I was about to open my door, it opened. Startled, I jumped back, ready to strike. But I relaxed when I saw it was only Cam.

"Oh, my gosh, don't do that." I sighed.

" Sorry." He chuckled.

"What are you doing here anyway? It's six in the morning!"

"The flowers we planted are fully grown today." He informed me. "I wanted to show them to you."

I smiled. "I know where they are."

He narrowed his eyes at me. "You know what I mean."

I laughed. "Okay, okay. Show me these mystery flowers."

He took my hand and led me to where we planted the seeds. Before we got there, he covered my eyes with his hand.

"Okay, keep your eyes closed. I'm taking my hand away. Promise?" He asked.

"Promise." I affirmed.

He removed his hand, and I ignored the temptation to open my eyes. I felt him take my hand and place something cool in it.

"Okay." He said sounding a little nervous. "Open them."

I opened my eyes and looked to see a bundle of white flowers in my hand. They were shaped kind of like stars and dipped in the center, creating a small hole that connected with the stem. They look slightly familiar, but I couldn't place where I've seen them before.

"They're beautiful." I breathed.

"They're called Stephanotis. They symbolize…" He paused, sucking in a deep breath. I looked at him, curious. "Marriage."

I stared at him blankly for a long moment. Slowly, I started to put two and two together.

"W-wait…what…?" Was all I could manage.

He blushed furiously, scratching the back of his head, looking anywhere but me.

"Does this mean…?" I started to say. He stopped me by grabbing my other hand and looking me in the eyes.

"Yes. I was hoping that…maybe we could get married someday…"

I grinned, and leaped at him, throwing my arms around his neck. "Of course, silly."

He wrapped his arms around me and swung me around once. "I'm so happy to hear that."

I kissed him and smiled. "I love you."

"I love you too, Lillian."

I twirled the flowers in my hand. "You're so clever with your flower meanings. You never cease to surprise me."

He smiled. "It's what I do best."

"No, what you do best is make me happy." I said, kissing his cheek.

He laughed, gathering me into another hug.

I closed my eyes, smiling. I felt as if the final puzzle piece just fell into place, and now I was complete.

Complete and free.

A/N: ohgoshthefluff. I feel like I'm terrible at fluffy stuff. So cliché! Oh well.
