Eyes on Fire

Feliciano Vargas is an honest man. He does his work, pays his taxes and goes about his life like the next person. He has a brother who he loves dearly and a childhood friend who he yearns to hold once more. He is often overlooked because of his carefree attitude but he is loyal, and will protect the ones he cares about with every ounce of strength he has.

Feliciano's eyes remain shut on a day to day basis. This is a given fact, anyone would tell you so. He keeps his eyes shut as if blocking out the cruelty of the real world, wandering aimlessly, enjoying himself in a world full of dark history and twisted truths.

Not a lot can bring the Italian to open his eyes. Once in a blue moon he'll peer up into the morning sky with a childlike grin on his face, eyes sparkling their usual amber, warm and welcoming. His older brother, Lovino, has a secret love for his eyes, not that he would ever tell another living soul. So often full of tears, fear and apprehension, his eyes are the most honest thing in the world. If the eyes are truly the doorway to the soul, Feliciano's soul is pure.

Likewise to opening his eyes, it's highly unusual for Feliciano to become angry. A passionate man, yes, but an angry one? Not at all. Where Lovino is full of cutting snide remarks, each word laced with malice, his brother is all sweetness and crystalline purity. It's a momentous thing for the young Italian to feel the sharp flame of anger.

Feliciano's anger is a startlingly gorgeous thing. His eyes fly open and they burn with the intensity of a thousand suns. He drags the shadows in like a magnet. They cling to his tan skin, hugging at his temples, in the hollows of his eyes, beneath his prominent cheekbones, at the cusp of his lips. Everything about him is dominated by fire, his entire being consumed by heat.

As dangerous as it is- as threatening and intimidating as he can be- to Lovino, there is nothing more awe inspiring. Yes, he knows his brother is beautiful- but this level of beauty is near impossible to achieve. A beauty that strikes fear into the heart. The only thing that renders the older Italian speechless.

No matter how much Lovino relies on his harsh words to get by, he would remain silent for the rest of his days to be in the presence of Felicano's flames- to stare into the depths of those bottomless eyes, looking into his soul and relishing the way the purity is set alight.

He has a brother who he loves dearly and a childhood friend who he yearns to hold once more. He is often overlooked because of his carefree attitude but he is loyal, and will protect the ones he cares about with every ounce of strength he has, and though he would never say it, Lovino thinks that Feliciano is the most beautiful man in the world.
