AR Chapter 9: The Plan

Previously: Amy continued, "I need a schematic of the area—" Just then Shawn's phone buzzed alerting him of a text. He read it aloud.

Just a reminder Shawn, I only wish to see you, Gus, the grumpy detective,

and Juliet's little niece. So no SWAT, no back-up, and no guns.

If I see any of those things, Juliet's death will be slow and

my men will make sure it's very painful.

-Alison

The four hopeful heroes arrived at the church just after 3:30am. The chief had a surveillance team about a mile and a half down the road and a full SWAT team held a perimeter about two miles from Juliet's location; there was no way Allison was getting out of this. The small team was hiding in some nearby bushes while they reviewed the plan with the blueprints of the church.

"Alright," Lassiter started, "I see one guard on the North entrance of the building. The blueprint shows two other doors. From here it looks like most of the windows are covered up. There are probably more guards at the other doors so we're gonna need a new way in." Each member was wearing a com system so they didn't have to speak too loud.

"Amy, can you see anything from up there?" Shawn said into the com. Amy had climbed a tree so as to get a better view. She didn't answer. "Amy?" Shawn asked again. "What?" came the curt response, "I asked you if you saw anything." "Hold on I'm coming down." Shawn sighed, he needed to get in there, they had less than an hour left. He hated being so close, but still so far away ('man that was so cliché' he thought to himself). He turned around as he heard Amy jump to the ground.

"Why didn't you just use the com?" he asked a little annoyed.

"Because," she responded, "If you were a serial killer holding a cop hostage and expecting a full police force/ SWAT team to attack, what's the first thing you would do if you needed to stay one step ahead?"

"Tap their coms so I could listen in." Gus chimed in, "So you think—" he motioned to his walkie-talkie. Amy nodded. Gus motioned to Lassiter to come over and then told him what Amy just said.

"So should we take them off?" Gus asked.

"No, if something happens, we can still use them to call in the chief." The detective explained. He then turned to Amy, "So did you see anything up there?"

"There's a big tree on the other side of the church and a convenient hole in the roof a few feet away. I might be able to climb up and slip through." She pointed to a section of the blue print. "See that center room, that's probably where Juliet is. It's big, probably not a lot of cover inside, perfect for an ambush."

"So how do we get around it then?" Lassie interrupted.

"I was getting to that… Anyway, the hole is right above here." She pointed to a small back room. "There are rafters that run along the ceiling and if we can lure Allison and her guards out of hiding, because chances are they're not sitting right next to Juliet, we can surprise them."

"So the plan is, you climb along some rafters and deliver yourself as bait?!" Lassiter said in a harsh whisper that probably would've been a shout if they didn't have to be quiet.

"Phsh no! I'm gonna climb along some rafters and be look out while one of you goes in there and attempts to free Jules. This person will most likely be caught but then I can watch from above and we can use Morse code to signal each other. Think of it like the beginning of episode six of Star Wars. Jules is Han Solo and whoever goes in is like Leia where she goes to get Han out but knows it will most likely fail. I'm more like Lando: watching to make sure nothing goes wrong."

"OK, I think I'm following—"

"I'll go." Shawn stated, interrupting Gus. "I started this whole thing and I'm gonna end it. I'm gonna get Jules outta there and this way I can be there for her if anything starts to go wrong." Gus put his hand on his best friend's shoulder.

"I'll be right behind you brother."

So, the team was set. Shawn would "sneak" in and lure out Allison and any other guards while, at the same time, Amy would climb up onto the rafters. Lassiter and Guster would take out as many guards as they could from the outside. No one was quite sure how well this plan would work; but then again, when were they ever.

A/N: Ok so, I know you guys are probably all like "WELL IT TOOK YOU LONG ENGOUGH!" but I'm not gonna lie and go on and on about excuses and school and all of that crap because to be perfectly honest, I was just lazy and really hate my computer and never feel like using it. :P BUT, I have a job now so in a few months maybe I'll get a new one! :D Anyways, I'm gonna try and finish this story up before school starts (Aug 26th :P) and if I don't have the next chapter up by the 15th PM me so I don't forget! ;)

Also, on a completely unrelated note: are any of you guys Doctor Who fans? because I'm thinking about doing a fanfic for that as well (once I'm finished this of course). I have this burning idea in my head that I've had for a while now but it involves 10.5 and Rose, my own character (because what else is this site for but incorporating yourself/ feelings into your favorite shows?), 11, Amy and Rory (post Angels Take Manhattan). Let me know your thoughts.
