The TV flashes to life and there stands President Lovejoy. She begins her speech.
"I would like to announce a great accomplishment on my part," she begins in a dull tone showing no sign of excitement, "For the past years I have search for new land that was left undiscovered. We stumbled upon a place which will now be Districts 44 and 45. We found people there which we have taught about the life here. We have established everything needed for there survival, and the people of District 44 and 45 are even watching this broadcast. I would now like to announce the Quarter Quell. This year because do to reveling and discovering these new districts the Quell will be left a mystery. Be prepared for what is to come. And may the odds be ever in your favor."
My lip quivered. We are left in the dark this year. For all I know they could have the age changed to years younger or older. That would leave my whole family vulnerable. I hope I won't get reaped.
