A long time coming crossover between the HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER universe and and the FRIENDS universe. I own absolutely none of the characters in this story... yet. Anyway this is set in the late series of friends and season 5 of HIMYM and the laws are pretty flexible so nothing to textbook.
Anyways I hope you enjoy so please READ and REVIEW.
"So there it was kids. After a few random chance encounters we finally had our first official outting with the friends gang. So everyone was excited for a good night out, but your dad being all smart and responsible was more worried than anything else".
Then I also had to keep an eye out on Joey cause you know, me and your aunt Robin and all. Then there was Chandler who had some crazy man crush on uncle Marshall, but hey it was all fun".
Following Saturday Night
McClarens
Ted, Marshall, Ross, Chandler, Robin and Joey were all at their booth at McClarens drinking and sharing nacho's and chicken wings. Chandler looked over at Robin and said "So Robin, you uh don't mind being you know like the only girl with the guys". Robin laughed and replied back "You kidding me bro. I did military school in Canada. I'm more man than you" and the rest of the boys went "Ooooooh", "That's just mean" said Joey and awkwardly put his arm around Robin. Ted replied "Nah Robin's a super cool chick, she's one of the guys".
"So who's round is it this time" called out Ted. Ross replied "Gee Ted we just finished our fourth round of drinks. Any more drinking and I don't think they'll let us in".
Marshall yelled out "Oh isn't that funny. Soon as it comes to your round we're not drinking any more. Say it Dinosaur man, you just don't wanna pay". Ross yelled back "Oh is that what you think Mister legal eagle. Well I like to think myself more responsible than you Sasquatch. Because you see - I am a father"! "And hat trick divorcee" Marshall screamed back".
See there was this tension between Ross and uncle Marshall ever since they met. I mean these where two nice guys who just happened to have different beliefs, come on who cares in this day and age. But if you ask me; they were both the tallest of each group so I think it was an alpha male kind of thing.
"Alright what's going on in here. Who do I gotta throw out" screamed Doug the bouncer as he came to the booth. Ted got up and said "It's all good here Doug. We were actually just on our way out". Doug eyed Ted up close and said "GOOD. Let me show you the door". As the gang all left Marshall noticed Chandler staring at Doug and he came up and whispered "Do not stare at the wig. Never stare at the wig". Chandler whispered back "What you mean that dead cat on his head" and Marshall giggled and fist bumped Chandler.
Soon everyone arrived at the stadium and got out of the two cabs and headed towards the game. As they made their way to the line Ted pulled Ross aside and asked to speak for a moment. Before Ted could speak Ross began "Hey Ted is this about what happened between me and Marshall? Look I'm real sorry about what happened back there, but at least I paid for the cab ride".
Ted replied "Aaaah no Ross. See a while back me and Robin dated, now we're house mates and and we've still kind of got this, you know sort of like a thing". Ross nodded and said "Oh yeah I know what you mean". Ted continued "Okay, cool. So uh in the cab, Joey and Robin. Did anything happen there. I mean it's not like I still wanna date her or anything but you know just curious".
Ross replied "Nothing much. Just a bit of chit chat nothing to be worried about". Ted nodded and gave Ross a friendly pat on the shoulder and said "Thanks bro" then just as he turned Ross said "Um Ted. You better not cock block". Ted surprisingly replied "What. I would never do that. Just cause it's my ex girlfriend and a good looking movie star guy who's apparently a ladies man" and exhaled.
Ross replied "Totally man. Cock blocking is completely banned. It's all part of the bro code" and walked on. As Ross passed Ted he stood there completely shocked and muttered to himself "How the hell does he know about the Bro code"!
Finally the friends sat down into their seats in the order of Chandler, Marshall, Ted, Ross Robin and Joey. Marshall had the happiest look on his face and said "Aaaah the ice. The cold. Man I love coming to these things it really takes me home". Ted replied "Heh you know me. From Ohio but never really miss it. Love New York".
"I'm with you on that one Ted" said Ross. Joey replied "Yeah I miss the big apple when I'm gone". Ross looked over and said "You alright there Chandler" who looked a bit uneasy. Chandler replied "Yeah I'm fine. Just a bit chilly". Robin laughed out loud and said "Come on you can't be serious, this is like a Canadian summer" then whispered to Joey "Geez I think I really am more man than this one"
"You want my scarf" Marshall asked Chandler. Chandler replied "Hey no I'm perfectly fine bro. Won't you be cold". Marshall replied "Nah man I can handle it. I mean I have Nordic heritage and I grew up in Minesota". "Nordic eh. Well I've got a bit of Scottish in me somewhere. So Minnesota huh. What was that like" asked Chandler.
Marshall replied "It was wonderful. Me and my brothers would go ice skating then come home and dad would be chopping firewood while mum was getting dinner ready. What about you Chandler, what was it like for you growing up"? Chandler pauesed for a minute then blurted out "Well I'm an only child, my mum is a novelist who slept around with half the men in the city and my dad is now a cross dressing dancer in Las Vegas" then as he finished Marshall spit out his beer in surprise while drinking.
Robin leaned over to Ross and said "Hey Ross can you give Rachel a big thanks when you see her for inviting Lily out with the girls". Ross replied "Yeah no worries Robin. You're more than welcome to join them at our place after the game if you want". Joey chimed in "Hey, hey it's still in first half. Why are we talking about after the game already. Let's just, you know see what happens".
Ted then turned to Chandler and said "Hey Chandler I need your help. Your friend Joey over there, what's his type. Chandler hesitated for a moment and said "As in women you mean"? Ted replied "Yeah what kind of women does he normally go for. You know like what sorta height or age" but before he could continue Marshall replied "Knock it off Ted we had this discussion alrady".
Ross sitting on the other side of Ted then chimed in "Come on Ted not this again. How many times do we have to come back to this tonight". Marshall replied "Well thank you very much Ross. See there Ted, just let it go". To try one more time Ted looked at Chandler and said "Okay Chandler what do you think. It's not like going for your friends girlfriend". Chandler replied "Yeah I'd stay away. See once I went for Joeys girl and I ended up in a box for hours".
Marshall and Ted stared at Chandler and he simply replied "Look I agreed to it. It's all in the Bro Code". Ted threw his arms up and said "Okay what's with all this bro code nonsense" and Marshall backed him up and said "Yeah the Bro Code is just something our friend Barney made up". Ross held up his hand pointing up and said "Actually, well here's the thing. I work in a Museum. And I have seen the original bro code and I can confirm it does exist".
"Oh just when I was beginning to like you Ross, you throw this at me" said Marshall but just as Ross was about to retaliate Chandler threw him a look and said "Cool it bro. Let's just enjoy the game". Chandler then says "Hey by the way guys I spoke to Mike this morning. Says he's gone out with Barney tonight to the strip club".
Marshall exclaimed "You serious! What kind of excuse did he come up with" then Robin followed "Yeah no way I would let my boyfriend go to a strip club. And these guys have been married what, like three years now".
Ross replied "Oh no, no, no you do not understand these guys. They're very free spirited should I say". Joey chimed in "Yeah Phoebe lets Mike do these kinds of things, she's real easygoing. As long as he doesnt, you know start touching the girls or anything". "Aaw that's nice, well I hope they're having fun" said Robin.
"Ladies and gentlemen. It is now time for our half time Kiss Cam" an announcement came on. "Haha this is always funny" said Ted but Chandler replied "Guh, could it be any more awkward".
The announcers voice continued "And tonight in the audience we have some very special mentions. Row 7D we have the News Day sports write Ray Borone together here tonight with his wife Deborah" and the camera went over to an Italian man with his more American wife in their forties. Then as love hearts appeared on the giant screen they awkwardly kissed.
The announcer continued "And next on our famous list are the winners of our radio ticket giveaway, Doug and Carrie Heffernan" and the camera showed the couple who wasted no time giving in to their passions and making out on camera.
As they watched Chandler said "Wow. He's huge and she's hot. You guys reckon he must be rich or something". Joey replied "Hey Chandler. Do you really wanna talk about hitting above your weight. What do people think when they see you with your wife" and as he finished Ross screamed out "Yeeeew that's my sister".
The announcers voice continued "And finally we have in the audience, famous actor Joey Tribbiani". Joey waved at the camera as the crowd auplauded and did a double thumbs up but the announcer continued "And next to him it appears to be his girlfriend".
Chandler, Marshall, Ted and Ross all looked shocked while Robin looked down and Joey still tried to maintain a straight face. As the camera stayed on them lights went up on screen and the crowd joined screaming kiss, kiss, kiss. Joey looked at Robin and began "Look Robin I totally wasn't expecting this but" "Shutup" Robin cut him off and grabbed Joey and the two of them kissed and the crowd cheered as Marshall turned to his right to high five Chandler then turned to his left to high five Ted at the same time as Ross turned left but it turned into an awkward slap between Ross and Marshall as Ted had his head down staring at the floor. Marshall put his arm around Ted and said "Hey come on Ted, it'll be alright".
"And I'll tell you one thing kids. I don't remember who the Rangers played that night. I don't remember who won. But when you're single and two seats away your ex girlfriend is making out with a celebrity on public television in front of thousands of people. It hurts kids. It hurts deep. I can't tell you what happened for the remainder of the game because I was too busy sulking but it was still our first outting with the new friends and I didn't want to ruin the night for everyone else. But after the game we went back to McClarens where they actualy let us back in. And that was the part of the night that I do remember".
