I'm sorry. Things came up that I couldn't control and I couldn't write until May, and then I sorta fell out of fanfiction. But you didn't click on this for my apologizing...
This chapter was requested by ApprenticeOfDaedalus.
But I will say this, since it has been a while since I wrote anything for this, it may not be that great.
Disclaimer: I don't own Pokemon.
Cynthia rolled over onto her side, her arm naturally falling onto the empty spot her beloved normally sleeps. She slowly opened her eyes and sat up. There was no sign of Red at all, "He may have gone out for something..." she said standing up. She then went to the dresser, grabbed her clothing and went into the bathroom to take a shower. Afterward, she went downstairs and grabbed her C-Gear off of the table. Before she could do anything, she noticed Red's C-Gear on the other end of the table. Panic had came over her 'Red doesn't have his C-Gear...oh no, something may have happened...no, I shouldn't think that way...' Calming herself down, she decided to go about her day as she would normally.
She had let a few hours pass, every so often looking outside for any sign of her husband. After the fifth hour, the panic began to return. Sitting on the couch, she held the house phone in her hand, thinking who to call for information. After a few minutes she had decided to go ahead and call the hopital, otherwise every other call with no information of Red would have given he a sickening feeling that something bad had happened. She dialed the number, her breathing becoming shorter with anticipation as the receptionist picked up, "Hello this is-"
Cynthia had cut the receptionist off before they had any chance to say anything else, "Hello, is this who I call for information about who has been emitted?"
"Yes, ma'am. Who are you looking for?"
"My husband. He is about 5'10, has black hair, red eyes and a pikachu would probably be with him-"
"No one has been emitted by that description, ma'am."
"Really?! Okay, thank you for telling me, it is a load off of my mind," Cynthia said with a sigh of relief.
"No problem ma'am. Is there anything else?"
"No."
"Alright then, have a good day," The recptionist said, hanging up.
"Yeah, you too..." Cynthia had said to the empty room, mostly out of habit. Sighing again, she decided to call the poke'mart. the conversation began like the previous one, but the man did have some information. According to the man, Red had purchased large amount food, and that the pikachu had looked a little hurt. Hanging up the phone, she quickly grabbed her keys and made her way down to the poke'center.
Cynthia walked into the busy Poke'center. She frowned slightly when she saw the nurse who was working that day, Kelly. It wasn't because Cynthia disliked the woman, Kelly was a friend of theirs, but she admired Red, too much for Cynthia's taste. Forcing the frown away she walked up to the desk, "Hey Kelly, I heard that Pikachu was hurt earlier today. Red did bring him here, right?"
"Mmhmm. According to Red, Snorlax decided to take a nap during training, and when he fell the shock wave knocked the little guy off his feet and sent him rolling a few feet. It wasn't anything serious so you can go ahead and take the little guy home," Kelly said picking up a pokeball from under the table, and handed it to Cynthia.
"Thank you. See you later ," She said taking the ball and leaving.
"Anytime. See you later!" she heard Kelly call.
Cynthia stood by the car and through the ball, the red laser shooting the yellow mouse out of the ball. The mouse let out a growl as sparks flew from it cheeks, until it realized where it was. Crouching down she began scratching Pikachu's head, and had an idea, "Hey, do you know where Red is?" Pikachu nodded, "You do? Can you point me in the right direction?" The small pokemon nodded and ran past her, stopping only to turn around and signal Cynthia, who was a little hesitant to leave the car, to follow. Sighing, she quickly opened the car door and grabbed her purse. Closing the door, and locking it, she then followed the mouse.
After what felt like hours, the mouse stopped and pointed to a dress store. Letting out an annoyed sigh, she looked down at the Pikachu, "Why would he be in a dress store?" Ignoring her, Pikachu ran up to the the door and began tapping on the glass, "Fine, we'll look inside, but I highly doubt he'd be in here," She said opening the door. The pikachu ran in and almost immediately jumped onto the counter, and ran up to the shopkeeper, a gray haired elderly woman.
"Ah, so that's the reason I could not contact you at home, you were out, Ms. Cynthia," the woman said as Cynthia grabbed the pokemon from the desk.
"Why would you call me at home?" Cynthia questioned.
"Your husband asked for a special dress be made for you a few weeks ago, and it was ready to be picked up today," the shopkeeper said as she went into the backroom. She came back with a black dress on a hanger. Handing Cynthia the dress, "Also, your husband came by and gave me this to give to you,"the shopkeeper said as she picked up an envelope and handed that to the younger woman too.
"Thank you. How much do we owe you?" Cynthia asked, trying to think of where she had seen the dress before.
"Your husband has already paid. Have a nice day," the shopkeeper said going back to work.
"You too," Cynthia said leaving.
Back at the house, Pikachu looked up at the woman who was looking intently at the sleeveless dress that was placed on the bed, "Where have I seen this dress before?" Sighing she decided to read the note:
Hi Cynthia,
Sorry I disappeared this morning, I wanted to train for a little while before taking care of some business. But by the time you read this it would be about 3:30, and I'd be about done with my business. Why don't you come join me. I know you don't know where I'm at, but here is a hint: The dress was recently made, but you wore it once before. Come to where you ate wearing the dress that one time.
Sincerely yours,
Red
"The only dress that he has seen me in is...no. It can't be!" Taking the dress of the bed she took another look at it. On first glace she had wondered why Red would have a special dress made to look plain, but now she knew what the dress was. It was a replica of her wedding dress. She felt silly not being able to see it because it wasn't white, "Wait...why would he...damn it, I'm a complete idiot!" She said as she quickly went through the dresser and closet, grabbing several articles of clothing and went to take another shower.
Red looked up as Cynthia drove into the park. As she got out of the car, he saw that she had her purse hanging on her shoulder and was wearing the replica dress, a pair of formal gloves, and a pair of black heels. He then noticed that she was having a hard time walking, so he decided to help her. As he got closer, he noticed a slight hint of shame on her face, "Is something wrong?"
"I forgot what today was," She said quietly.
"Don't worry about it," Red said as he put one arm around her waist to help her keep balance.
"You're not mad?"
"No, you had a lot going on with the league recently, so I figured you would. I thought it would have been a good surprise."
"You mean like scaring me half to death, or making me almost have a panic attack?" Cynthia asked pulling his C-gear from the purse.
"Sorry, it was dark and I didn't realize that I grabbed the wrong thing until it was to late to go get it..."
"I called the hospital at one o'clock out of fear that something had happened, so you better show me a good night."
"Alright, after we eat, we're going dancing and a romantic walk," Red said as Cynthia rested her head on his shoulder.
"We better."
Red smiled, "Happy anniversary."
"Happy anniversary."
I hope you all enjoyed this chapter.
Anyway, I should make a few announcements all of my fics.
First of all, This should never take me a year to update again, I not saying that it is going to be updater on a regular basis, but they shouldn't be more than a month apart.(now it is jinxed). I'd like to apologize to linkkirby8692, and anyone else who wanted a mangaverse oneshot, I can't get into the manga no matter how much I try. Maybe one day I'll be able to get into it, but it is looking unlikely.
For those of you who read No Such Thing As A Coincidence...I don't see myself updating it again. I'm sorry. I lost interest in it. I would put it up for adoption so it wouldn't die, but I don't know how, or who to give it to, or if they would allow me to continue another fic that I posted before my second hiatus.
Which leads to The Power of One: NSTAAC Edition... I still want to do this(or something along the lines of it. And Don't worry, the title will be shortened eventually) The reason I didn't update is that I was 90ish% done with the chapter but cleaned up my documents folder to get rid of stuff I no longer needed, and when I realized that it was deleted too and couldn't be retrieved, it took a lot out of me, and a few days later I fell out of fanfiction.
And then there is my new fic Macross: Valhalla, this is the main thing I'm working on at the moment. If you like a lot of action, check it out.(View count is low enough for me to try promoting it here.)
Anyway, I'll see you next time.
