More nothing. Nothing but nothing…..

That was what was in this strange void, somewhere in the magical universe. Just nothing. If Lucy had a name for this place, it would be…

Purgatory?

Lucy frowned. She wasn't exactly the religious crazy chick…

But here, in this place of nothingness, you could certainly have time to reflect on your life, actions…or go insane.

"How do I get back…" she muttered, wandering around aimlessly. Suddenly, the world was submerged in bright, pure light. Staggering backwards, Lucy shielded her eyes, attempting to squint through the glare.

I…I see a silhouette outlined…who is it….

"Lucy!"

Lucy blinked in shock as the harshness of the light receded, leaving a soft glow. "NATSU?!"

He grinned and held out his hand, gesturing her to follow him. "C'mon! Let's go!" Lucy smiled in relief. To think that he had come all this way…he was truly her hero! She ran towards him and grabbed his hand. Gently, he pulled her towards the light… Wait.

Lucy? But…Natsu called her Luce.

Stopping in her tracks, she stared bewilderingly at him. He looked like Natsu…and he sure smelled like it…

But was he the one she loved?

"Natsu" tilted his head in confusion. "Don't you wanna come with me?"

Lucy backed away, her mind a jumble of racing thoughts.

If it was a light…

If someone had come to guide her….

If her suspicions were true…

Then, if she had not doubted "Natsu", she would have joined the angels.

"WHO ARE YOU?! WHERE IS THE REAL NATSU?!" Lucy screamed. The scream felt like it was pouring from her very being…

The fake Natsu stared at her. Then he sighed. "Lucy Heartfilia. This is the day that you have lived, when you should have died. You have proven yourself worthy. Live your life, daughter of Jude and Layla Heartfilia."

Lucy stared in bewilderment. What the heck?

"Luce!" The cry was one she had heard, and one she loved and would love until the end of time….

Lucy turned, away from the light. She would not see the light ever again until her last moment, her last breath.

"Natsu!"

a/n- yayyy! the story is coming to an end...IT'S SAD. i geniunely enjoyed writing this story's chapters. and submitting them later :3

next ch will be the last. :*(
