Hey there, everyone who is a faithful follower! I've come with a present! Yes, I know. It's been a minute. Sorry! Well, here it is now!
Disclaimer: I don't own Beyblade, just Tai!
Tai could feel her heart pound in her chest. Even the baby, who was normally very active, had stopped its movements as Tai stared at the person before her. The lump in her throat nearly made her choke. Beside her, she could feel Bryan pull away, fleeing her arm's length zone.
"You don't write anymore." One sentence. That was all it took.
She tried to move her lips, but nothing came out. The person pushed off of the banner and took a confident step towards her. It happened too fast for anyone to catch the movement. Tai stood panting over the person now on the ground, her arm stretched out from the strike.
"What the hell are you doing here?!" Tai screamed.
She went to hit them again, but someone held her back.
"I thought you said she wasn't mad at you, Kai!" Bryan struggled with Tai.
Kai picked himself off the ground and brushed himself off. "Missed you, too, sis."
"Of course I'm mad at him. I'm pissed off! You walked out on all of us and haven't spoken to me in four months! What did you expect? For you to just come back and all of this to be shits and giggles? You bastard!" Tai shouted.
"What's going on out here?"
Athena came down the stairs, guiding herself on the banister. Behind her, several others followed.
"Already starting fights, Kai?" Tyson, with his big mouth, blurted out.
"Can't we go anywhere without trouble?" Ray shook his head.
"Is this Kai's sister?" A female, unfamiliar to Tai, asked.
Tai pushed Bryan off and turned to Tala and Spencer who stood in the door way. She glared at them both.
"You knew he was going to be here?!" She growled.
Tala averted his eyes, not saying anything. Spencer looked down, ashamed.
"We had asked Kai to come here before they went to the World Championships," Bryan admitted.
"We were all invited here, Tai." Athena spoke up.
Tai kept her eyes on Tala, knowing full well that this was entirely his idea.
"Tai," Kai said.
She flipped around, evil hanging around her shoulders.
"Don't you dare speak to me!" Tai snapped, storming from the room.
Max, Kenny, and Ray all exchanged glances to one another before returning up the stairs, fleeing the scene before they become caught in the violence. Tyson, however, waltzed up to Kai and patted him harshly on the back.
"Good luck fixing that one, Kai! She's really pissed off!"
"Tyson!" The unknown female thumped Tyson over the head.
"You must be Hilary. Tyson's girlfriend." Spencer pointed out.
Both Hilary and Tyson took in sharp breaths, neither denying nor admitting the relationship between the two.
"You should go talk with her, Kai." Tala finally spoke.
"You said you were going to tell her that my team and I would be here," Kai replied to Tala.
"She wouldn't leave the house if I had."
Kai took a breath and followed after his sister.
Tai found herself wandering about the house. Attempting to calm herself down, she somehow wandered into an observatory. Plated glass left the room feeling open and bright. Furniture decorated the room with woven white lawn chairs and potted plants.
"They really wouldn't let me say no." Tai sighed to herself and picked a chair closer to the windows so she could get a good look of the landscape.
The house sat on a plot that looked down into the city. The back yard was at least an acre long with a green house and patio. It appeared that the closest house would be at least three or four miles away. The grass had recently been watered and glistened in the day light. It was a beautiful sight. Tai couldn't deny that.
A sharp push on her ribs made her take a deep breath.
"I see you are out of the shock zone."
Tai placed her hand on her stomach and looked down.
"I can't forgive him.
Another kick.
"How am I supposed to forgive him if he can't say sorry?"
Two more followed.
"You make it hard to argue when you are beating up my insides."
The shuffling of feet behind her, alerted her of the presence behind her.
"Tai."
"Go away."
The kicking in her stomach intensified and she huffed.
"We need to talk."
She went to open her mouth, but pressure suddenly applied itself to her bladder and she frowned.
"About what?"
"Why you are angry with me."
Kai moved to the seat next to her and stared out into the backyard.
"I left because I was angry. I couldn't protect you with Dranzer. I'd lost faith in myself. I had no strength to fight against Boris or Grandfather."
Tai's interest had been peaked.
"And," he paused. "You are hiding the truth."
Tai went to get mad, but knew she had to bite her tongue.
"I can't understand why Boris went through so much trouble to chase after you. They never came after me."
Kai turned to Tai and she turned her head.
"What is it, Tai? What's Boris really after?"
Tai closed her eyes and could feel the tears burn against her cheeks.
"Kai, I…" She hiccupped.
"Tai, you can tell me anything. Just tell me what Boris wants."
"I can answer that for you."
Kai went to stand, but an arm wrapped around his neck and pinned him against the chair. He chocked as he fought for air. Tai screamed and leapt at the attacker. Another person grabbed her and pulled her back. She kicked the person in the shin and turned on heel.
"Boris!"
"That's right."
Boris stood, frowning. "I've come to collect."
"No!"
"The hell are you talking about?" Kai managed to choke out.
The arm on his neck tightened.
"Shut up!"
"Don't kill him, Alex. I need him alive."
"You said I could.." The gangster was cut short by a glare received from his employer.
Tai growled. "You can't have it! I've changed my mind!"
"It's too late for that, my dear."
Boris went to grab her, but she began to scream. She shuffled several steps back, remaining out of his reach. The pounding of several people trampling down the hall came to her ears and she stopped screaming.
"You bitch!"
Boris leapt at Tai, pulling her into his arms. He flipped her around and wrapped a hand around her throat, waiting for the rescue party to come.
"Let her go!" Kai struggled against his own attacker.
"Hold still." Alex shouted.
The door to the observatory slammed open, Tala leading the entourage.
"Take another step and Kai will die!" Alex commanded, enforcing his point by making Kai cough.
"Boris! How the hell did you find this place?" Bryan being the first to speak, pushed past Tala.
"The Blade Breakers can be thanked for that one. They lead us directly to you." Boris chuckled. "I've waited for you idiots to show me the way to my property."
"Property? You don't own her!" Spencer argued.
"Not according to the contract."
"Contract? What the hell are you going on about, Boris?" Tala growled.
"I own Tai and the package she carries. This infant was mine from the beginning." Boris informed.
"You're lying!" Bryan spat.
"She never told you?" Boris's curiosity peaked. "How interesting."
Boris turned his eyes to Tai and smirked.
"Allow me the honors." Boris started.
"No!" Tai shouted.
Boris tightened his grip on her throat and she whimpered.
"You had your chance to tell them. This way, it'll be easier for me to take you." He whispered to her.
"Has she ever told you where she went after Kai helped her escape?" Boris smugly asked.
Tai could feel all eyes turn to her. She felt the blood pulse in her ears.
'Here it comes.' Her mind raced.
"Your sweet flower is a whore who sold herself on the streets."
Tai could feel all air leave her lungs. Her eyes filled with tears. Her heart stopped. If it weren't for Boris's hand holding her throat she would have long since ran from the room, never to see their faces again.
"That's not true! She was in protective custody!" Kai managed to grumble.
Alex kicked him away. Kai went to get up, but Alex stood on him.
"You are clueless, moron!" Alex pointed out.
"I never knew such a frail body such as hers. I almost didn't want to share her." Boris traced his hand down her side and rubbed his nose into her collar bone.
Tai attempted to move from him, but that only tempted him more.
"If it weren't for her infant, I'd ravage her body again and again." Boris laughed as he brought her closer.
"Stop it!" Athena whimpered from the group. "You'll hurt her!"
"I won't hurt her," Boris snickered. "Not yet that is."
A wicked smile spread from his face, but he quickly frowned.
"If she weren't under contract, she would have never seen you failures."
"Contract?" Tala broke Boris's concentration.
Boris loosened his grip on Tai as his smirk returned.
"Ah, yes. The contract. My brilliant idea to create the ultimate beyblader."
"You failed at that once before, Boris. I'm a product of your ultimate beyblader." Tala intensified his glare.
"You weren't the first experiment. None of you were."
Boris straightened as he prepared to explain.
"You see, we had tried training children into becoming stronger, but all of our attempts failed. They just weren't strong enough. We next moved onto creating the perfect blade, but we had no one to be able to control the untamable. Those tests were set aside for the time being. We finally came upon the idea of genetically creating our own blader, but the results were defective and deformed. The women used for the experiments couldn't withstand the beings within them and rejected the fetuses before they could develop."
Behind him, Tala could hear Hilary cough as if she would puke. His own stomach churned in agitation.
"That's when little Kai found a forgotten uncontrollable beast."
Kai flinched at the memory and gritted his teeth.
"Black Dranzer."
"That's right, Kai. Your hidden talent gave us our idea." Boris chuckled.
"You're idea?" Kenny quivered at the edge of the group.
"We finally knew what we needed for the perfect blader: pure, untainted, unchanged genes. Using Tai as our test subject, we forced her into intense training to ensure she had inherited the same genes as Kai's. At first we had our doubts, but she handled the most unruly beasts we handed to her after she fell in line as one of our stronger soldiers. We had our source."
"You sick bastards! You raped her when she was that young?!" Bryan jumped forward only to have Spencer and Ray grab him.
"I'm a sick man, but she wasn't developed enough to survive any of our experiments. Luckily, Kai helped us once more."
Kai gasped.
"That's why it was so easy to get her out that night."
"Did you really think you could escape from us without us knowing? We've known everything. We control everything."
"No.." Kai blankly searched for Tai's eyes, but she only looked away.
"What we didn't expect was for her to return to us before planned and ready for the experiment. She had all but forgotten about me the night I found her huddled on the ground. I took her to a hotel and had my way with the whore that would take me to the top. Before she could leave, I offered her a place to call home. Somewhere she'd never be cold again; the Abbey." Boris laughed to himself.
Tears spilled from Tai's eyes.
"Tai…" Tala stared at her with disbelief and anger from across the room, seeking her eyes for an explanation.
Tai shook her head.
"Tala! He tricked me the moment I signed the contract. I didn't know I'd be a part of this until he forced me on you the first time!" She began to slump, feeling the burden begin to slip from her chest.
The room became silent.
"Tai… it was you?" Bryan stuttered.
An intense wave of sickness hit three of the teens. Bryan collapsed to his knees on the verge of vomiting. Spencer fell pale and swayed in disbelief.
Tala was by far the worse. Sweat beaded across his forehead and blurred his vision. Unable to comprehend anything, he shook in anger and gasped for air.
"How does it feel? To know that she knew what was happening every single time you boys went in for special training. And Kai was no exception. Not wanting a deformity, we found a random specimen amongst the older bladers to satisfy any questions if they arose."
Kai struggled beneath Alex's foot and managed to push him off. Using his moment of confusion, he leapt for Boris, landing a punch directly across his face. In that time, Tai pulled away from Boris and stumbled to the ground, barely catching herself against the floor. Boris toppled over backwards as Kai went in for another strike. Alex tossed Kai aside, slamming him into a side table. Kai went to stand again, but the barrel of a 9mm caught his sights.
"Stay down, or you'll never get up again." Alex threatened.
Tyson went to interfere, but Alex fired the gun.
"No!" Tai screeched.
The ringing echoed through the room and every one turned to Alex and Kai. Kai had his head bowed, eyes shut tight. The gun pointed off to Kai's right where a smoking bullet hole caught his attention.
"I don't miss twice." Alex warned.
Tai caught her brother's frightened eyes and reassured herself that he was still alive. She reached across the room and someone grabbed her arm.
"Look at the trouble I have to go through just to receive this infant from you. I had to wait two more years when you couldn't produce any results. If it weren't for my assistant, I'd never get what I wanted." Boris waved his hand towards Alex.
"I never thought he'd be good enough to think of using your beyblade to lure you out. Then it was just getting you to trick the others into trusting you. The final piece to the puzzle was them wanting to trust you and help you. Fine performance, might I add." Boris began to gloat.
"No! That's a lie!" Tai protested.
She quickly turned her head to Tala, who was now glaring at her. Her eyes flicked towards Spencer, then Bryan, then returned to Tala. She reached for him.
"I didn't know, Tala! I swear! He threatened Salemite and I had to get him back! I couldn't let Sam's death be in vein." Tai pleaded.
"So, that bitch finally died." Boris's voice remained soft, only speaking to Tai.
"She was starting to become a hassle when she stepped into the picture. But then that means that her blade found a new host." Boris's smirk changed into a cocky one.
"I should have known when you added another female to the house." He glanced around the room searching for a certain brown haired girl with sun soaked skin.
"Don't worry, she'll be right behind you."
Tai caught sight of Athena and swallowed her tongue.
"I can't believe you." Tala's voice echoed within the glass pleated room.
Tai changed her stare to Tala's, tears streaming harder than before. "Tala.."
"Don't you dare say my name! You've been acting this entire time! You knew about everything! You took what dignity we had left in the abbey. What little strength we had was drained by you fulfilling your end of the deal. I don't want to hear whatever it is you have to say. You've been lying from the beginning, what's going to stop you from lying now?" Tala angrily spouted.
"What a second, Tala. You can't be believing all this, can you?" Tyson grabbed Tala's arm.
Tala batted his hand away.
"What the hell do you know about any of this? You've never had to know the pain of losing your entire mind due to one little girl!" Tala pointed to Tai. "It's all her fault!"
"This wouldn't have ever happened if you weren't here! You're the reason we have suffered! Torturous nights of being forced into.. into… fucking for hours. Mentally scarred with the image of pain attached to pleasure." Tala panted. "You would have said something if you couldn't take it. You didn't say a word."
Tala's head dropped. The room became silent. Everyone drawn to his fit of outrage. If there was a time to become afraid, now was that second to do so.
Tai fell slack in Boris's hand. He released her and stepped back. Tai managed to stand and took several steps toward Tala. She went to touch him, but he slapped her hand away.
"Don't you dare touch me." His voice buried in hatred.
She pulled her hand back. Her fists clenched tightly and she screamed, "Fine! If you can't believe me I may as well leave! I wouldn't want to have any ties to you any more than a fleeting memory!"
Tai turned around and faced Boris.
"Let's go now before this gets any more ugly." Her voice cracked.
"Tai! Don't do it!" Max cried over Tyson's shoulder.
"Don't go, Tai! He's only going to hurt you!" Ray added.
"Why don't you mind your own business?" Alex butted in.
Boris held a hand out to Tai, who hesitantly took it.
"That's a good girl." Boris spoke.
Without another word, Boris walked towards the group, who made a run way. As Tai passed Athena, she grabbed Tai's hand.
"Don't do this, Tai. That baby is yours. You've come to love that baby with everything you ever had. Don't let him take it away from you." She tried to convince her.
"Stay out of this, Athena. Go back to playing doctor." Tai shook Athena's hand away and fled the room with Boris still holding on to her.
Alex stepped away from Kai and waved the gun around the room and quickly followed after Boris, leaving the teens in shock.
"Good riddance." Tala mumbled.
A firm hand struck him across the face, sending him backwards.
"How dare you?" Athena snapped. "Do you really think Tai could go this long without telling you without being blackmailed? She obviously isn't thinking straight. She's in pain and you torture her more. You had at least two other friends to lean on when you needed help. She's been running for her life with no one to look after her."
Tala gripped the spot and turned his head.
"I don't care."
Athena gasped in pure shock and stared at him. He made his way out of the observatory in silence.
There you have it. Fighting, anger, decepetion. It all! Leave me a comment or message please. Tell me what you think after all this time of waiting for answers.
