There was a collective series of groaning as all around the students and faculty alike slowly began wakening, rising slowly from the ground in confusion. The surrounding area was completely devastated, the ground overturned and the remaining grasses more brown than green. Most of the stands and grounds circling the stands were depressed, as if a huge weight had been settled upon them, and they seemed to be filled with a steaming gray-colored slime.

Hitsugaya sat up, rubbing his neck in irritation. He couldn't really explain why, but he had a splitting headache. He looked around—somehow or another, he found himself in his gigai again—seeing Matsumoto, Rukia, and Ichigo in various places nearby, all looking around in slight confusion.

The Captain of the Tenth groaned as he stood up, the ground swaying for several moments before steadying again. He looked around in interest at the area, and it took another several minutes before the hazy memories of everything that had happened came back to him.

He came to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry two years ago on an undercover mission.

The mission's objectives:

Learn everything possible about wizards and wizarding society and determine if they are a threat to the Soul Society.

If possible, learn how to perform magic.

Learn and, if possible, stop whatever Aizen may be planning.

He had gone as a transfer student from Japan, and learned that Aizen had made an alliance with the notorious dark wizard Voldemort for reasons still unknown. They combined the use of various kinds of magic, kido, and hollow abilities, the final product being a creature they later called the Amphisbaena.

This past year, Substitute Kurosaki Ichigo, Thirteenth Squad Member Kuchiki Rukia, and his Lieutenant Matsumoto Rangiku joined him in the investigation. He and Kurosaki participated in the Triwizard Tournament, and were taken alongside Harry Potter and Cedric Diggory to a graveyard, where they faced off against Sosuke Aizen and a resurrected Tom Riddle (AKA Voldemort). Matsumoto and Kuchiki fought against the Amphisbaena.

While all Shinigami received injuries of varying extents, most wizards were unharmed, with the exceptions of Harry Potter, who faced off solo against Voldemort, and won, and Cedric Diggory, who was killed using the Wizards' Killing Curse technique.

It was later found that Aizen and Voldemort were experimenting with resurrection and the undead using souls already sentenced to Hell, thus the creation of more powerful, deformed Hollows that came about as "failures". It is unknown how far their research went or how successful it was.

"Thank you for your help." A somber Albus Dumbledore stood before them, face drawn, causing him to look much more his age.

"We failed to protect a student." Hitsugaya stated curtly, at which Dumbledore shook his head, a weary smile making its way onto his face.

"Not at all. If not for you, we would have much greater casualties. For that, I am grateful."

The Captain left the Headmaster's office in a bad mood, as evidenced by the deep scowl on his face. The other three Shinigami had since returned to the Soul Society to give their report; he was expected to do the same after the school year's end.

Yet he failed to stop Aizen. He couldn't stop a single dark wizard. He couldn't save a single student.

Though he would be lying if he said that was all that was bothering him. There was something off about it all. Something about that headache he and seemingly everyone else had at the time of waking after the third task.

However, he couldn't for the life of him recall what it was. Why did he feel like something was missing…? Sure, there were things about Aizen and Voldemort's plans that he still didn't fully know or understand. Yet, that didn't seem to be quite it.

It was as if… he'd forgotten something—or someone—important. As if a part of his memories had been rewritten, like the incident with Rukia Kuchiki and the pair of siblings. But unlike before, there was no strong sense of something being 'off', or 'not right'. Everything about his memories seemed completely logical, completely 'right', yet there was that small nagging sensation in the dustiest corners of his mind that suggested otherwise.

The others either hadn't noticed it or had simply shrugged it off, but he was Hitsugaya Toshiro, Captain of the Tenth Squad. And more than anything, he trusted his instincts.

Despite Hitsugaya's determination to figure out what was wrong, or his long hours of effort spent searching fruitlessly both through his mind and through various places and moments, it was, in the end, all for naught.

Because when Hitsugaya Toshiro returned to the Soul Society at the end of Harry Potter's fourth year at Hogwarts, the nagging sensation had vanished, and so too had any thoughts of the existence of something—or someone—else.

For those who don't know about the whole "rewritten" thing, I'm referring to the 3rd movie: Bleach: Fade to Black.

Oh my god. I'm done. I'm freaking done. Through like three years of writing this and making up plots and subplots and forgetting them and leaving loose ends… I'm done. And we never figured out what was going on with Snape's reaction. And Manabu Hara's thing was horribly and hastily wrapped up. And Harry's questioning things should've been a lot sooner (or something).

Now I've got to rewrite it all. Dammit.

(I actually am doing a rewrite. It probably won't be posted for a long while, to give myself a break from this so I can work on other fandoms, but also so I can write a few chapters ahead so you get quicker updates. I've already written the first four or so, and let me tell you, compared to these, they are long.)

(Also, before I forget, I wanted to point out that I don't own anything in these past 44-something chapters except for the plot idea, Shouta Izukai, and Raynaulski. I'd think it'd be obvious, but it never hurts to say it.)

Regardless of everything, for those of you who've stuck with me all the way, thank you! And thank you for those who pointed out plot holes that are undoubtedly there! I will definitely fix all that in the rewrite (there are also a lot of things I'll be adding in and taking out, so I suggest you at least try reading it. For instance, there are pets in the rewrite. :3).

It's been a lot of fun seeing your reactions, and I hope to see them again (perhaps elsewhere, perhaps not)~!
