Chapter 19: What a Coincidence

"We found Will Schuester"

My eyes snap to Mike, "Where?"

"He's staying at a hotel on East 72nd Street."

My eyes squint in thought.

"Two and a half blocks away from the park." He finishes with a wicked smile.

Recognition dawns on me. "He makes it too easy." I grab my coat and head for the door.

"Wait, what does that mean?" 'Cedes asks from the couch.

Mike, hot on my trail, yells out behind him, "Means he's also five and a half blocks away from the East River."

Mike and I have been parked a few cars down from Schuester's hotel for about half an hour now.

"And he's in our turf?" disbelief laces Mikes voice. "Is he stupid or something?"

"I don't know." I say with my eyes locked on the door of the hotel.

Just let him come out.

My first reaction is to be angry. And if I were acting on pure impulse I would kill him right now and throw his worthless body in the East River.

"Maybe he thought we'd never think to check our own turf. Regardless, he should have stayed right under Sylvester's nose. Because when I get my hands on him—" I grip the steering wheel trying to suppress my anger.

"San, are we really gonna kill him?" Mike shifts towards me.

But I can't act on impulse alone now can I?

To be honest, I haven't even decided what I really want from Schuester. Sure he tried to have me killed and he is working with Sue but really he's just a side chick. A distraction, and I can't help but think that Sue placed Schuester here for a reason. She knew I'd find him.

My bet is that she placed him here because she works alone. It's just good business really. Have everyone do all the dirty work for you until you're the last one standing.

I'm not gonna kill Schuester. I'll do myself one better and place doubt in his head. And if he's got any brains left, he'll see that not only am I telling the truth about the fact that Sue wants him dead now that he's fulfilled his role in her master plan but either way there's a good chance he'll end up dead.

I lock eyes with Mike, "No."

"What's the plan then?" Mike asks completely intrigued.

I squeeze his hand and smile, "Do you trust me?"

He nods, "Always".

Satisfied with his answer a pat his hand and open my door to get out. "Then let's go."

Mike and I stride across the street and casually make our way through the revolving doors.

I grab Mike's hand and survey the lobby. I lean into his body and whisper, "No bodyguards for Schuester."

Mike threads our arms together, "Why—" he pauses and we both smile sweetly to a lady that crosses our path. "Why would they? Wouldn't that look suspicious?"

We make our way to the check-in desk that's manned by a young girl, early twenties, who looks only seconds away from shooting herself in the face. She's bored and filing her nails.

Mike pats my hand and I smirk as he releases me. I strut up to the girl, "Excuse me." She looks up and I watch her eyes get big and her cheeks flush pink when I flip my hair over my shoulder and bat my eyes.

"Whahh—um yeah, hi?" she flusters.

"Hey" I reach over and grab the nail filer from her hand and make sure to graze my fingers across hers, "could you be a darling and help silly-oh-me out?"

The desk clerk eagerly nods, "Anything. What can I help you with?"

"Well," I trace the counter with her nail filer and watch her get mesmerized by my fingers. "I'm here to visit a friend." I pause until I see her nod. "It's a surprise you see?" she nods again. I lean forward until we're just inches apart, "Would you be a doll and tell me what room number he's staying in?" I finish and trace the nail filer across her chin.

I watch her body tremble, "Ye—ah sure, sure what's his name?"

I lean back satisfied, "William Schuester."

I wait as she types his name in, "Level four room one hundred and ten" she looks up waiting for approval.

"Oh you've made me very happy." I wink at her and slide the nail filer back across the counter.

I turn around and head back over to Mike. I smirk when I see him hiding his chuckles behind his hand. I re-entwine our arms and walk towards the elevator.

"How the fuck do you do that?" he asks once we're inside the elevator.

"It's a gift." I state as I hold on to the rail lining the elevator tighter than necessary.

"But I'm sure she wasn't even gay!"

I scrunch my face up, "It's not about your sexuality it's about the attention." Floor three almost there. "Show a little attention to someone who's deprived of it and they'll eat that shit up." The doors finally open and I quickly walk out. "In the end, everyone just wants to be appreciated."

"Hmm, well I have to say that makes sense." I hear him say, a step behind.

I shake my head. What an amateur, "Of course it does."

We approach room one hundred and ten, "Ready?"

Mike already has a hand on his gun.

I suck my teeth at him. He looks up in confusion and I signal for him to step to the side of the door so he can't be seen through the peep hole.

I bring my index finger to my lips and Mike nods his understanding.

I knock three times, "Room service".

It takes a minute but as soon as we hear that lock click we bulldoze right thru that door and quickly lock it behind us.

"What the FUCK!" Schue staggers back on his crutches.

I smile in satisfaction when I see Schue's knee in a cast. I look at Mike and raise my eyebrows in amusement.

"Have a seat, Schue" Mike suggests.

Once Schue is seated at the edge of the bed I grab the lone chair and position it right across from him and sit so our knees are touching.

"We're gonna have a little chat, is that okay?" I ask and watch him frown in defiance. "How about I talk and you listen, hmm?" I wait a beat and situate myself. "Mike, have a seat." I motion next to Schue on the bed. "And put that gun away. We won't need it." Mike does as I say and turns to Schue inquisitive. "How hard would you say it was to find Schue here, Mike?" I pat Schue's good knee.

"Well, once we redirected our sights on Schue instead of Puck it took about a good hmm, ten hours, maybe." Mike looks from me to Schue.

"Ten hours!" I feign surprise.

Mike quickly nods his affirmation.

"Jeez, why is that? I mean if Schue is Sue's right hand man why would his whereabouts be so easy to locate?" I tap my chin in thought.

I watch the grip Schue has on his crutches tighten.

I lean back in my seat, "I have another question, Mike."

"Sure, San."

"How hard was it for us to get up here?"

"Well—"

I cut him off, "Let me rephrase, was there any security watching the lobby or bodyguards stationed outside Schue's hotel room?"

"Well no, San I don't believe there were, now that I think about it." Mike looks baffled.

Schue looks appalled.

"I would think there would be some sort of security, right? If Schue is indeed Sue's right hand man, wouldn't she make sure he was rightfully protected? None of Sue's master plan would have been possible without Schue leading the ground work, right?" Mike thoughtfully asks.

I watch recognition wash over Schue's features.

"And even worse, Sue placed him in our turf. I'm sure he didn't choose to stay here, here in the territory where the very people he's hiding from own. That doesn't seem very smart at all now does it, Mike?"

"Wha—what, what are you talking about?" Schue's face is ghostly white.

"What, dear sir, do you mean?" I ask and scoot closer to him.

"I—I have a—a full security—ahh detail down stairs in the lobby." He stutters and I watch fear creep into his posture.

"I'm afraid that's not true." I say in pity.

He looks ghastly, "You're lying! Sue said you'd never think to look in your own turf, said you'd be too stupid to even think it. But just in case you did, she'd leave three guys on rotation at all times in the lobby."

"Sorry to tell you Schue but that's not true. And I'm betting more than anything that she put you here so that I would find and kill you."

Schue furiously shakes his head, "No that's not possible".

"Schue, think about it, your job is done. She has no use for you. She's power hungry. She's not going to share any prospect she earns from this. She's already sharing now." I get up and motion for Mike to follow. "Sue wants everything for herself."

Schue looks up at me in horror; he knows I'm right, "What are you going to do with me?"

I squeeze his shoulder and feel him tense under my touch, "Nothing." He looks at me in disbelief.

"I'm not after you. You're a pawn in her game." I watch him relax. "But I do have one question for you." He looks at me suspicious. "Where is Puck?"

Schue's worried eyes glance into mine. "I don't know. Sue is the only one that knows where everyone is at. I haven't had any contact with either of them since I've been here." I wish he was lying but I can tell he's being truthful.

I tense my jaw and suck my teeth, "Damn it," Schue leans back trying to create space between us. I lean forward till there is only a breath's space between us, "This is your one chance to get out Schue. If I run into you again, I'll kill you. I'm also one hundred percent sure that if you cross Sue's path, she'll kill you too. Maybe not right away, but eventually. Just something to think about." I finish and bring my hand up to gently slap his cheek a few times.

I turn back to Mike, "Let's go" and walk out the door.

"Why didn't you ask if he knew what Sue's next plan was?" Mike asks once we're in the elevator on our way down.

"'Cause she's not stupid enough to tell him jack shit. She was gonna have him killed as soon as he finished putting things in motion."

"So what was all this about then" he asks, not seeing the big picture.

I turn to look at him, "There are three things that can happen. One," I hold up my hand to list them off, "Schue actually listens to me and leaves, one less person I have to deal with." I raise two fingers, "Two he ignores my warning and goes back to Sue and eventually she kills him, or" I say and raise my third finger, "Third, Schue goes back to Sue like a woman scorned and fuck's shit up from the inside."

"How?" Mike asks and crosses his arms slightly impressed.

"Schue may be a cripple but he's not stupid. He's a quick thinker and also full of pride. Pride, in this case, that'll help us when the time comes."

"And if he doesn't go after Sue?"

"It's a win-win either way. He's not gonna be a problem for us in whatever he decides to do." The elevator doors open up and we stride across the lobby. I wave bye to the check-in girl and exit the hotel to my car.

Check mate, bitch.

Sunday, 8:00am

Throw it up, throw it up, watch it all fall out.

I jerk awake and grab my phone off of Mercedes coffee table.

"Si!" I answer, beyond pissed at this rude awakening.

"San, it's Brittany."

I stiffen, "What's wrong? Where are you? I didn't mean to be rude; I thought Mike was calling, are you okay?" I hear giggle on the other side of the phone.

"San, calm down I'm fine. I just wanted to know what your plans are for this fine Sunday morning."

I release a breath and let myself sink back into the couch, "Well you'll be happy to know that I'm completely free."

"Great, meet me at The Black Lagoon in an hour."

My face scrunches up in amused confusion. "Isn't it closed though? Why do you want to meet there?"

"It's a surprise. I'll see you in an hour. Bye."

I stare at the phone for a beat and then quickly get up to start getting ready.

9:05am

When I get out of my car Brittany is waiting for my in front of the Black Lagoon.

"Hey, San." She greets and watches a grin spread across my face as I close the distance between us.

I wrap her up in my arms and brush my lips against her ear. "Hi, Britt."I feel her body tremble in my arms and I smile into her neck.

After a moment Britt pulls away with a dizzying smile. "Come on there's someone I want to formally introduce you to." She says and pulls me through the doors of the club.

My body stiffens thinking she was about to introduce me to her dad. Let's be honest I'm not the most ideal person to bring home to meet the parents, but I relax when my eyes land on Quinn behind the bar.

Quinn looks up from the rocks glass that she's drying and quirks and eyebrow at me.

I feel Brittany give my hand a reassuring squeeze, "Quinn, this is Santana," She gestures to me with the hand that's not entwined with mine. "Santana, this is Quinn." She finishes and sounds amused.

"Have a seat" Quinn wipes her hands off on the towel and offers her hand in greeting. I sit down on the stool across from her. "Nice to finally meet you. This one—," Quinn releases my hand and looks at Britt, "—won't shut up about you. San this and San that." I turn to Brittany and chuckle when I see her cheeks flush pink.

Brittany crosses her arms in mock frustration, "Shut up, Quinn. Like you're any better."

"Brittany." Quinn warns.

I watch in amusement as Brittany's lips take on a wicked smile, "Oh, Brittany, you'll never guess what Rachel did." Quinn dashes around the bar. "Or Rachel said the funniest thing yesterday." Brittany flips her hair and continues to mock Quinn. "What are you doing tonight doesn't matter because I have a date with Rachel" Brittany squeaks out right when Quinn lunges at her and Brittany stealthily sprints away.

"Ha! Missed me!" Brittany giggles and run sprints up to the D.J. booth.

"Brittany Susan Pierce, when I get my hands on you!" Quinn yells, hot on her tail.

My eyes squint in amusement and my head falls back in laughter at their antics. Brittany's eyes meet mine, "Whatever you're about to do, don't." I feebly warn.

Brittany jumps from the D.J. booth with Quinn following close behind. I quickly get up when I realize she's coming straight at me like a freight train, "Slow down, Britt, "I hold up my hands, "Stop! Sto—" the wind is knocked out of me and my limbs are tingled with not one but two pair of legs. I grown, "Man, it sure does suck to be at the bottom of this pyramid."

I feel the two people on top of me shake with laughter. "Sorry, San. I needed you to cushion the blow."

I feel the weight on me lessen and watch Quinn dust herself off before offering Britt and me a hand. "Welcome to our crazy, Santana." Quinn smiles at me.

Once I'm on my feet again, I laugh and feel Brittany thread her fingers through mine. "Thanks." I say and smile.

Britt squeezes my hand and gestures to the bar. "Okay, San sit down. I'll make you a drink."

"Yes ma'am." I say and swivel from side to side on my stool.

Brittany and Quinn walk back behind the bar. Quinn picks up where she left off and Brittany starts on my drink.

"So how'd you guys meet?" I ask.

"Well," Quinn starts. "I was walking by one day when they were still just doing construction on the place and I saw this one," Quinn nods over at Brittany, "standing outside talking to one of the guys that was working on the place. I was looking for work so I figured I'd go and ask her if they were hiring." Quinn finishes and shrugs.

"Yup," Brittany smiles fondly. "She and her crazy pink hair walked up to me and was all 'Yo are the owners hiring? I can bartend and wait tables. You think they'll hire me?'" Britt chuckles.

"Shut up, I got the job didn't I?" Quinn says.

"Seriously? Just like that?" I laugh.

"Come on, Santana. It's Britt we're talking about." Quinn glances sideways at me.

I chuckle, "True."

"Hey! What's that supposed to mean?" Brittany pouts and crosses her arms.

I reach over the table and uncross her arms, "Just means you have a big heart, hun." I watch her pout melt into an adoring smile.

"Yeah?" she says as I pull her by her shirt.

I hum and connect our lips.

"Stop that shit right now." Quinn warns. I turn to look at her and feel Brittany rest her forehead against my temple.

"Jealous?" I tease and feel Brittany's airy giggle against my neck.

"No. I have no reason to be. I have an amazing girlfriend." Quinn fires back defensively.

Britt pulls back and passes me the drink she made. "An amazing girlfriend that talks way too much for my liking."

"As if" Quinn spits out.

Brittany just giggles and starts checking the fullness of the bottles on the back wall.

"You guys live together right?" I ask.

"Yeah, about a month after I got hired I was evicted from the apartment I was renting because the place just got bought out and they wanted all new tenants. Bunch of bull right?" Quinn asks.

I frown, "They can't do that, can they?"

"Probably not," Quinn shrugs. "Anyway, I told Britt about it because she had just gotten her little house and was looking for a roommate. Right place at the right time I guess."

"Yeah but she's never there cause she always stays over at Rachel's." Brittany adds.

"Dang that's crazy." I say in thought.

Bitches ain't shit but hoes and tricks. Bitches ain't—

"Hello" Quinn quickly answers her phone.

I cover my mouth and laugh.

Quinn waves me off, "Yeah, babe, I'm almost done here. Ten minutes? Yeah I'll be out front. Okay. Yeah. Love you too, bye."

"Wapshhh" Britt mimics a whip and my head falls back in laughter.

"Oh you guys are ridiculous!" she whines and throws the rag at Britt, "You finish this shit." Quinn says as she walks around the bar and towards the back door. "I'd say nice to meet you but it's not." Quinn frowns at me.

I bring my hands up to my heart, "Wow, Quinn, that really hurts."

"Oh shut up, you're just as bad as her." She finishes and walks through the door.

Brittany chuckles, "She likes you."

"I'm glad." I smile, "Come here." Her features soften and I watch her walk around the bar towards me.

She straddles my lap and buries her head into my neck, "I missed you" she breathes out like a confession.

I trace my fingers along her spine, "I missed you too."

Britt pulls back and brings her hand up to caress my face. She brings her finger down the slope of my nose to my lips and I shudder at the feel of her.

"Can I kiss you?" she whispers.

My eyes flutter shut and I nod. I feel her smile into my lips until my hands drop from her waist to squeeze her ass. She groans into my mouth in response and threads her fingers through my hair pulling me to her. Her tongue traces my lips but when I open my mouth to let her in she draws it back making me whine in want. My lips chase after hers and suck on her bottom lip before releasing it with a wet pop. I open my eyes and watch Brittany's flutter open to look at me. Her eyes swim with want. "If you don't hurry up and stop teasing, Brittany." I warn before leaning back in to lick up her lips. She melts into me and sucks on my tongue before finally following it back into my mouth. I knead her ass and swivel the stool so her back is pressed into the bar. Her body arches and she breaks away to breathe but I don't stop kissing her. I trail my lips down her neck to her ear and graze my teeth against it. She hisses and tightens her grip on my hair. I suck on Britt's neck below her ear and feel her buck up into me. "San" she moans and yanks me back up to her lips. She pulls away after a moment and rests our foreheads together.

"Shit, San. You gotta stop doing that." She breathes out.

I smile, "What?"

She grabs my neck and presses her center into my pelvis. "You know what."

My breath hitches and I bring my hands up under her shirt desperate to feel Britt's flesh.

She shudders at my touch, "I want you so bad."

"You have me." I whisper against her lips.

She smiles and just barely drags her lips against mine. "Will you come back to mine after I finish up here?"

I wait a beat and pull back from her lips, "Naw."

She hits my shoulder, "Ass."

I laugh and shake my head, "I'm just kidding. I didn't mean it."

She tries to get out of my embrace, "Nuh uh" I hum before I bring our lips together and tighten my grip on her waist.

"San" she mumbles into my lips.

I pull back, "Yeah?"

Amusement shines in her eyes, "If you keep kissing me I'll never finish cleaning up."

I loosen my grip and watch her climb off of me, "Fine."

"I'll be quick." She leans forward and pecks my lips before jogging back around the bar to finish up.

A/N: The End.

Just Kidding hahaha
