Authors Note: Sorry for the late update! I got terrible sick and was in bed trying to recover for the most part! This chapter is Quinntana filled! Anyways I hope you all enjoy and please review if you can!
Quinn closed out the tab that was titled divorce forms from her browser. Just thinking about it gave the blonde a head ache. The week was definitely a whirlwind for Quinn. She had another grueling talk with her divorce lawyer about how to file, what to file and where to file for her divorce from Finn. It was all very confusing for her and it really made her think about all the sad bastards that needed to get divorces but couldn't afford an attorney to explain half of the legal bullshit of even gaining the right forms to file for a divorce. The blonde also came to terms with the fact that this divorce would take up a good chuck of her life. She would certainly be putting it on the back burner when she could though. Jim let her know he would be available in the coming weeks to fly out to Tennessee to go over the forms and help her file them. Quinn was very thankful for that because she had taken a look at the forms online and she was at a total lost of what to do. She commended the women who represented themselves during a divorce.
After the long talk she had with her lawyer it was then a long talk with Finn. He whined and cried about how they could work it out but Quinn was having none of it. She made it very clear to him that it was never going to end up that way. After hours on the phone with him, she finally got him to agree not to contest the divorce. The blonde pleaded to him that this was what she wanted and that it was his own mistake he had to live with. She turned the tables with guilt and she wasn't ashamed of it either. Quinn beg the question that if he really loved her, then he would do this for her. And he agreed. Quinn was at a loss for words when he did. But she was really glad for it. There were still ways that he could make this really hard for her, but she was really hoping he wouldn't. He had already caused enough pain to her to last a lifetime.
It was nearly 6:30 in the evening and Quinn was already emotionally drained from the day. She felt more relief wash over her despite it all because the divorce wasn't looking as nasty as it had started out and her friendship with Santana was steadily growing. The two had spent a lot of time together in the last few weeks. There wasn't a day that they didn't have lunch together. And when they weren't together, they were texting each other. Quinn spent most of her nights at Smitty's keeping the brunette company and letting the girl show her the ropes behind the bar. She could be a regular coyote ugly at this point. Their weekends were spent on netflix binges and diner runs.
They even tried to include Puck every once in a while and make it like old times. They would do beer and Pizza at Sam's and just last Thursday they traded the nightly bar hop at Smitty's for an evening of Bulldogs vs. the Sasquatches, as Santana had once dubbed them. Quinn really enjoyed herself this time, as there was a lot less tension on the field than it was when they were kids. But it was still the same old Santana with her backwards cap and tenacious taunts. If Quinn was being honest, seeing the brunette in her backwards cap with her baseball tee, short cut offs and that flannel tied around her waist, she was an absolute goner. The blonde spent most of her time zoned out in the game staring at Santana than actually playing at all. And don't get her started on playing outfield while Santana was pitcher, bending over in those shorts. Many times Quinn had to contain the blush that threatened to spread across her cheeks. And she's sure that Sam caught her ogling Santana as well. He just smiled that guppy lipped smile of his and pretended as if he didn't see it. She thanked him for that.
Quinn really enjoyed the time she was spending with the girl and the rest of her childhood friends. It was refreshing without any expectations and she absolutely loved that. They weren't all gathered around to hear her spill why she was back and what made her leave, although she knew at least three of them already knew why, and she liked that aspect. She could just be her here. They accepted her back into their tight knit group as if she had never left ten years ago. As Quinn shut her laptop, prepared to go mindlessly watch netflix on the living room television, there was clicking at her bedroom window. The blonde frowned but ventured over to it anyway and opened it to reveal Santana below her. Quinn rolled her eyes at the girl with a smile.
"You know there is a front door. You're an adult, you could always just knock." Quinn stated and Santana let out a chuckle and shrugged.
"Where's the fun in that?" The girl asked and Quinn only shook her head. The blonde took in the brunette's appearance, she had a silver T with three red stars painted on one cheek and the number 10 painted on the other.
"Anyways a bunch of us are headed to LP Field in Nashville to see the Titans play against the Kansas City Chiefs and it wouldn't be any fun at all if my favorite blonde wasn't there." Santana declared and Quinn laughed. She knew the brunette was a major fan of baseball but she didn't know the girl was also a fan of football. The blonde herself wasn't too keen on the sport. It wasn't because she didn't understand it, which was most men's response to her not liking it. It was because she was just so very bored by it that she never bothered to investigate it any further than on the rare occasions that she would watch with Finn.
"Say you'll come? Pretty please? We're having a tailgate down at the lake afterward and I'll be super sad if you don't come to the game but you at least gotta go to that!" Santana tried to negotiate and while Quinn really wasn't one for the game, she wasn't going to miss this opportunity to have some fun after the day she's had.
"Alright I'll come to both." Quinn conceded and Santana clapped happily.
"Get your cute little butt down here so we can hit the road! My boys get crazy about their football! You can ride with me!" Santana hollered before she was walking back to the three trucks parked outside of her Grams house. The blonde closed the window and had a mild panic on what to wear and whether she should change at all. The girl decided against changing as she was already decently dressed and grabbed a jacket along with her bag before racing towards the front door. She hollered to Betty that she would see her when she saw her and not for her to wait up. The older woman gave a chuckle as the door slammed and thanked her lucky stars that her granddaughter wasn't in a major funk with all the changes going on in her life. She was really glad to see the girl going out and rekindling old relationships.
Quinn made her way over to Santana's Tacoma and was pleasantly surprised to see another blonde in the passenger seat. She was hoping that the brunette would have saved the spot for her but she was sorely mistaken. So she squeezed in the back with Sam and Puck. The ride to LP Field consisted of Santana and Brittany singing Luke Bryan and Florida Georgia Line at the top of their lungs and Sam and Puck talking statistics for the nights game in her ear in the back. It was safe to say the blonde was not having a great time and she was steadily trying to push the 12th grade jealousy down within her over Santana and Brittany's bonding in the front seat. With the way Santana was speeding down the highway, they made it to the stadium in an hour and Quinn was glad for that because she was ready to get out of that car. Santana handed everyone their tickets before they entered the stadium. Apparently Brittany was able to get a lot of comp tickets from her stint at being one of the Tennessee Titans Cheerleaders some time ago. Quinn resisted the urge to roll her eyes at this girl when she found that out.
"Are you excited for the game? I'm ready to see my babies crush these chiefs on our own turf." Santana enthused as they waited in the parking lot for the rest of the gang to show up and Quinn couldn't help but smile at the excitement in her voice. From what she caught in the car ride over, apparently this was a game that most of them had been waiting for all season.
"I will be as excited as you need me to be." Quinn replied with a chuckle and the Santana gave the blonde a cute frown.
"What do you mean? This is a huge game baby girl!" Santana exclaimed and Quinn shrugged, smile still in place.
"I'm not a huge fan of football. My husb-" Quinn cut herself off almost too quickly that she nearly chocked on the rest of the word. She still hadn't told Santana that she was married and in the throes of getting a divorce. She had meant to but it just never came up and if the blonde was being honest, it was something she didn't want to think about. Quinn knew it wasn't fair keeping that from Santana when she had basically spilled her whole life story within a few weeks of reconnecting but Quinn just wasn't ready to tell her. Santana raised her eyebrows in question towards the blonde but Quinn just shrugged.
"I just find it boring is all." The blonde finished and while there were clearly questions written all over Santana's face she gave the blonde a smile and shrug.
"Well as long as you're gonna be as excited as I want you to be, none of that matters." Santana replied with a smirk while shoulder bumping the blonde. The rest of the group finally showed up, including some people Quinn didn't know, and they all made their way inside the stadium. Quinn tried to stay as intrigued in the game as she could during the beginning, cheering whenever the Titans scored and joining in on the booing when the other team did. After a few beers she had loosened up a bit, to the point that her and Santana made up mildly insulting chants for the other team. There was more than a few times that some football moms wanted to fight the brunette on the field she was sure but Puck had a way with calming the cougar in women. By half time, Quinn was truly enjoying herself, starting peanut fights with the rest of the group, talking up the very cute redhead on the other side of her and she even had her first stadium hot dog courtesy of Sam. He was weirdly obsessed with them from what Quinn could tell.
The cheerleaders were doing their half time routine and Quinn saw that as good a time as any to go to the restroom and then order another beer from the concession stand. Maybe even some nachos. Not that she didn't enjoy watching cheer leading, it was a sport that took up most of her time in high school, she was really just over cheer leading at this point. Quinn finally made it to the concession stand and took up space behind none other than Brittany. The blonde turned around and gave her a dazzling smile.
"Well if it isn't the infamous Quinn Fabray. I don't think we've formally met. I'm Brittany." The girl held out her hand to shake and Quinn hesitated for a moment but finally took it, returning her smile.
"Quinn Fabray. But apparently you already knew that." Quinn replied with a chuckle and Brittany echoed her.
"I've heard a lot about you." Brittany stated with a smirk and while that made the blonde slightly nervous, she laughed it off.
"All good things I hope?" Quinn declared and Brittany shook her head.
"For the most part." Brittany teased with a smirk but Quinn didn't let the words phase her. She was bound to have someone have some animosity towards her for leaving. It was probably Santana but Quinn didn't want to think about that. The girl had a penchant for wanting to live in her own little 'happy' bubble. There was silence between the two of them as they moved up in the line and Quinn decided she would break it. She decided she'd give the girl a chance and stop acting like the green monster that had taken up residence in her chest.
"So Brittany, where ya from?" Quinn asked making small talk. She thought it best to get to know the girl as she seemed a permanent fixture in Santana's life.
"I'm from Washington. My dad got a job offer here and he decided to take it. In the beginning of my senior year." Brittany replied with an eye roll at the fact her parents moved her across the state at the end of her high school term almost. Quinn let out a chuckle.
"How come you never left after you graduated if you don't like it here?" Quinn asked curious.
"Now I didn't say that. At first I was resistant but this place grows on you. I made some good connections here and met some really awesome people, so why not right?" Brittany questioned with a shrug and Quinn agreed.
"Did you and Santana go to the same college?" Quinn inquired further and Brittany shook her head.
"Yeah we did. I met her my senior year and by the time we graduated, she was like my soul mate so we decided to apply to all the same places." Brittany commented and at the mention of soul mate Quinn had to hold back the frown that wanted to scribble itself across her face. Quinn definitely didn't want the girl to explain why she felt Santana was her soul mate so she continued the questions.
"What did you major in?" The girl asked as they moved up in the line, close to the front. Quinn really wanted nachos and that beer.
"I started in Women's Studies but I decided that in the end college just wasn't for me. I wanted to dance so that's what I did. I could have totally done both but that wasn't something I wanted for myself ya know? It was too structured for me." Brittany explained and Quinn understood.
"I dropped out and did a few gigs around Tennessee, becoming a Titans Cheerleader included, before I finally got the guts to audition for Ballet Memphis. Now I dance for their company." Brittany finished and Quinn was impressed. She knew a little about dance and Ballet Memphis was one of the tougher companies to get into. Like, so tough no one even knew when they were holding auditions tough.
"Well I'm glad you were able to find something you were passionate enough about to forgo school for. And dancing for Ballet Memphis is a feat within itself so congratulations." Quinn declared and Brittany gave her a smile.
"Thanks. My parents took it hard but in the end they supported me." Quinn was envious about that aspect. She suffered through school with a business major because that's what her parents wanted. She really had wanted a degree in theatre but since her parents paid her tuition, what they "suggested" went. Quinn was just glad she was able to find a passion for music and music production along the way and use her degree to her advantage. The girls had finally reached their turn in line and ordered their food. Quinn was excited for her nachos, if she was being honest. After the girls got their snacks, they headed back towards the bleachers. The half time show was mostly finished and the game would be starting up again soon.
"How's it going for you in the music industry? Santana told me you run your own record company? That's so rad." Brittany said as they walked back towards the stands.
"It's going pretty good. I love it and it's so great hearing getting to hear the unique talent that comes through those doors and being the one that gets to help them make their dreams come true." Quinn replied. She really did love what she did.
"I wrote a song about a cup once." Brittany confessed and Quinn laughed.
"That's...unique." Quinn didn't want to be rude at all and for all she knew it could be a really good song about a not so common topic.
"Which translates to: I bet it sucked." Brittany chuckled and Quinn shook her head.
"Not necessarily. I'd have to hear it before I made that kind of judgment call." Quinn humored her and Brittany only laughed.
"I'll have to let you listen to it some time." Brittany declared with a smile.
"I'm looking forward to it." Quinn quipped before the two blondes took their respective seats in the stands. Quinn took her seat next to Santana, her mouth watering for her nachos. The game was starting back up and once again the brunette next to her was back at her antics. Her language was colorful when the Chiefs scored and Quinn was more interested in watching the girl then the actual game. It was a lot more entertaining.
The Titans were down by 5 points with only 18 seconds on the clock. Quinn didn't know if that was much of a crunch time but the whole stadium seemed tense. Santana was biting her nails watching the play unfold and Quinn could see Puck gripping Sam's arm a ways down. Right when Quinn, and probably everyone else, thought it was over for the Titans, one of the Chiefs players doped on the intercept. He literally tripped over his own two feet. The Titans were able to make a touchdown, bringing them into the lead for the win by one point. The crowd literally went wild when that happened. Santana shot out of her seat and hollered as long as she could as her team won. Quinn stood up to clap and the brunette didn't hesitate to pull her in for a hug because of the big win. Soon enough the whole group was piling out of the stadium and heading back to the parking lot to get on the road. Quinn had to admit she was feeling tired but she was excited for the tailgate party. She used to love going to them a lot in her time down in Tennessee when she was a teenager. Puck always threw the best ones.
They all piled into Santana's truck, the boys switching with the girls to drive. Quinn felt a little odd squished between Brittany and Santana but they made small talk and Quinn got to know the blonde a little more. She also got to see how the two girls interacted with each other. She could tell it was strictly friendship and that she had nothing to be threatened by. And just thinking that made Quinn frown. She wasn't even dating Santana. She shouldn't even be thinking that the blonde was a threat. The girl shook her head to shake the thoughts away and Santana gave her a quizzical look but she just smiled at her and enjoyed the ride back to Clarksburg. Puck and Sam stopped to make a beer run but in no time they were parked at the lake, the beds were open and the music was being turned up. Santana had put on a relatively tasteful country play list and Puck had started up the mini barbeque pit he had brought for the occasion. Quinn was sitting in the tailgate of Santana's truck, swinging her feet and drinking a beer when the brunette came over and took the seat next to her. The blonde could tell that more people were showing up to the party as time went on.
"You having fun?" Santana asked, sliding real close to Quinn. The blonde was hyper aware of the other girls leg brushing against her own and she tried not to squirm. The contact made her leg feel like it was on fire.
"I am having fun. Thanks for inviting me." Quinn replied with a smile before she took another swig of her beer. She was starting to feel the alcohol hit her, having had about three cups at the stadium already.
"Of course. You are my favorite blonde after all." Santana quipped with a shoulder bump and Quinn laughed.
"You sure about that? The other blonde in your life seems pretty cool already. Not sure if I wanna compete." Quinn joked and for an instant Santana's eyes were serious.
"No competition at all. I promise." Quinn didn't know if she was really hearing the double meaning in those words or if she was making it up. The blonde ducked her head a little at the genuine smile spread across Santana's face. She cleared her throat before she took another sip from her beer, trying to hid the blush creeping up. The two sat beside each other quietly drinking their beer before a song that Santana really liked came on and the girl was putting her drink down. She hopped out of the bed and grabbed on Quinn's hand.
"You're dancing with me. This is my favorite song!" Santana commanded before she was dragging the blonde on to their makeshift dance floor with everybody else. The two danced together and laughed for a few songs. It wasn't long before Puck was pulling Santana away though. He needed her to back him up in a argument with Sam on the fact that the dodgers were originally a Brooklyn team before they moved to the west coast. Quinn could only roll her eyes and release the brunette to him. She was fine with it though because she wanted to get another beer. She ventured over to the cooler and grabbed herself one before she was back at her spot sitting in the bed of Santana's truck. She watched the brunette laugh and joke with Puck and Sam and she had to admit to herself that she was feeling something for the girl. Spending so much time with her made her see how amazing she was. Santana could make Quinn laugh so easily and had the ability to make her forget the rest of the world even existed. And she loved every second of it. She just hated that things were so complicated in her life right now. Quinn also hated what admitting to being attracted and intrigued with the girl would mean. It would mean that she liked her and she was starting to realize that she liked her way more than she should probably let herself at a time like this. All the feelings of panic that had once plagued the blonde came rushing back and she had to take a deep breath.
"You know you should probably just tell her." Quinn was startled by Brittany's voice instantly next to her. Quinn frowned for a moment before she played dumb to what the other blonde was suggesting.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Quinn replied before taking a sip from her beer. Brittany rolled her eyes with a smile.
"Oh come on. You've been staring at her for the better part of the night and I've seen the way you look at her. It's a lot heavier then the 'I really am glad we're friends again' look." Brittany revealed and Quinn shook her head.
"It's complicated." Quinn concluded and Brittany scoffed. Quinn really didn't like the topic of this conversation especially having it with Brittany.
"You like her and I know you know that she likes you. What's so complicated about that?" The blonde inquired and Quinn had to contain her frustration. It was a lot more complicated than that. She was scared for one. She was in the middle of a horrible break up and she had more baggage than the claim station at the airport.
"It's not just that. There are other things that would get in the way. Other things that make it complicated." Quinn confessed to the other blonde.
"Are you scared?" Brittany questioned and Quinn shrugged, trying to make that aspect seem downplayed to the other girl.
"A little." Brittany shook her head. The blonde could understand that. Feelings were scary on their own but having feelings for someone who was the same sex as you, and was once your best friend no less, were a more frightening.
"Well I say you deal with the complicated ya know. Polish your shit up and go for it. She's an incredible woman and I'd hate to see you miss out on something wonderful because you were scared and it was 'complicated.'" Brittany confessed with a shrug before she was getting up from her seat next to Quinn and heading over to the rest of the party. Quinn was irritated with the other blonde because she didn't know one thing about her life. She hated even more that the blonde assumed she did. Quinn rolled her eyes to herself before finishing her beer. Brittany had put her in a funk so she decided she would cure that by drinking more and mingling with other people. She made rounds through the party, talking people up and feeling the alcohol hit her harder and harder. She was in the middle of dancing when Santana grabbed her by the arm gently.
"Come take a walk with me?" The brunette asked and Quinn agreed. She could tell from the other girls eyes that she was probably as tipsy as she was. The two of them walked down to the water and took a seat on the sand.
"I just wanted to steal you away for a few minutes. I needed a break from Sam and his horrible impressions." Santana retorted and Quinn chuckled. The boy wasn't as bad as everyone said he was. Quinn actually thought he was pretty good. She especially like his James Earl Jones impressions the most.
"You still having fun or are you bored? Probably isn't as extravagant as the parties you've been to in New York." The brunette teased as she bumped Quinn's shoulder. Quinn rolled her eyes with a smile.
"I'm still having fun and I didn't really party all that much back in New York." Quinn admitted.
"Yeah? Why not?" Santana questioned and Quinn shrugged.
"I don't know. Just wasn't in to it. I could find a lot better things to do with my time." Quinn declared. She also had a husband who didn't much care when she went out with Rachel and the gang drinking. The two sat in a comfortable silence for a few minutes, drinking their beers before Santana was speaking up again.
"Do you remember that time I took you out here to teach you to swim?" Santana asked the blonde and she shook her head with a smile.
"That's not so easily forgotten. It was the day I beat you fair in square in a race to the shore. It's a victory I'll always remember." Quinn joked and Santana chuckled.
"I was worried that I was gonna let you drown man." Santana confessed before she took a sip from her beer.
"I wasn't. I trusted you with my life back then." Quinn professed to which Santana smiled.
"Did ya now?" Santana said with a smirk.
"Mhmmm." The blonde replied and in that moment the brunette was scooting impossibly close to Quinn.
"Do you trust me now?" Santana asked, her face merely inches away from Quinn's. The blonde swallowed hard.
"I do." Quinn whispered. Just as she felt the other girls breath on her lips and a tingling where her hand was on her thigh, their moment was cut short by Puck interrupting. Their lips never made the connection.
"There you two are! We're about to truth or dare!" Puck all but yelled and Santana scooted away from Quinn coolly while Quinn jumped so far away from the brunette you would think she had burned herself. Santana rose from her feet and held her hand out for Quinn's and while the girl took it, she made no eye contact with the brunette whatsoever and opted for walking along with Puck rather than with Santana. Santana was instantly more sober with all that transpired and was feeling pretty upset with herself. She knew she shouldn't have tried it but her gut told her to go for it. The brunette hated her gut sometimes. It was always getting her into troublesome shit.
"Aren't we all a little too old to be playing this game?" Sugar asked while everyone laughed.
"You're never to old to make people tell their deepest secrets and do sexual things with each other!" Puck countered and everyone laughed because it was true. Truth or Dare would be a game that survived for ages. Everyone took a seat in the tailgates available or just gathered around to play. Santana rolled her eyes but decided she would play too.
"Alright first victim...Sam! Truth or dare?" Mike started and of course Sam picked truth because he was just that boring. Mike asked him to name who he would rather have sex with out of everyone that attended the party. His answer was Sugar and everyone knew that he was probably gonna get laid tonight. Sam dared Puck to begin everything he said for the rest of the night with 'All hail Queen Nefertiti' and Puck dared Brittany to touch her nose with her tongue. She couldn't so the punishment was she had to touch someone else's nose with her tongue and naturally she picked Santana. Finally, it was Brittany's turn and she smirked.
"Santana, truth or dare?" Brittany asked and of course Santana picked dare because truth with Brittany was a no when they knew all your most humiliating secrets.
"I dare you to kiss Quinn." The blonde declared and everyone laughed or gasped. Santana felt her stomach drop and she wanted to kill Brittany in this moment. Especially after what happened by the water.
"Actually I pick truth..." The brunette tried but everyone in the circle booed her.
"Nah princess you have to do the dare or take two shot!" Puck piped and Santana rolled her eyes. She sighed and made her way over to Quinn who looked more than nervous.
"Is this okay?" Santana asked and Quinn tried to play it cool.
"It's just a dare Santana." Quinn replied and Santana shook her head with a smile before she moved in and connected her lips with the blondes. She could only imagine it was like how people explained it, the fireworks part. Except for the brunette felt like someone had set off C4 throughout her body. Quinn's lips were soft and warm just like Santana had imagined they would be. The kiss felt how she imagined it would feel. There was wooing and hooting in the background but Santana was focused on the blonde. When the two finally pulled apart, Quinn felt light headed and dizzy. Santana had taken her breath away.
"Wow." Santana didn't realize what she had said until the blonde was blushing with a smile. Puck gave one last hoot before Santana was making her way back to her spot and daring Matt to put lipstick on Jesse without using his hands. The outcome was the best. The night carried on with outrageous dares and some messed up truths but after Wally nearly drowned himself in the lake after being dared to jump off the high rock, the game had pretty much died out. It was getting late and Santana really wanted to call it a night. She saw Quinn over by the cooler talking to Sugar so she ventured over to see if she wanted a ride home.
"Hey I'm gonna head out and I was wondering if you needed a ride or if you had found another?" Santana asked. The girl had to admit that her hart was doing a jumpy thing as she talked to the blonde. That kiss would be seared in her memory.
"Yeah I could use a ride. I did come with you after all." Quinn declared with a smile and Santana returned it with a head nod. She let Puck and the rest of the group know that she was calling it a night and they all said their goodbyes before Quinn and Santana were back on the road towards Betty's house. It didn't take but a minute to get there and Quinn gave Santana a quick goodnight before she was ascending the front steps of her grams porch. The blonde had a hard time looking the other girl in the face after that kiss. It had made her mind go blank and set her whole body on fire. She had never once felt anything like it before. She fished around in her bag for her keys but they weren't there. In her rush, she must have had forgotten them. Quinn rolled her eyes at herself as she made her way back towards Santana;s truck.
"Is something wrong." The brunette asked, clear concern in her voice,
"I forgot my keys and my grams truck isn't in the driveway which means she isn't here. So I'm screwed." Quinn sighed and Santana laughed.
"No you aren't. You can stay at my place." Santana offered. Quinn hesitated for a bit. All she could think of was being in bed with Santana and that kiss and her mind went places she didn't want it to. Like what it would be like to kiss her again and feel her pressed up against her. Quinn bit her lip but in the end agreed. After all, she didn't have much choice otherwise.
"Okay. Thanks." Quinn said with a nervous smile.
"Not a problem." Santana replied as Quinn climbed back in her truck and they made their way to her house. She lived a few minutes away from the blonde so they were there in no time. Once they got inside, Quinn realized that the decor was vastly different from what she remember.
"I remodeled after my abuela died and left it to me. Her style was a lot more old school than I liked." Santana said with a chuckle and Quinn smiled.
"I really like it." Quinn commented as Santana made her way to the kitchen.
"Thanks. Do you want something to drink?" Santana asked from the kitchen so Quinn followed her and took a seat at the bar stool.
"Water please. I'm feeling pretty dehydrated." The blonde replied and Santana was quick to get her a glass along with one for herself. She took the seat across from the blonde at the bar stool. There was silence before Santana spoke up.
"Look about earlier..."Santana began but Quinn shook her head.
"Don't worry about it. IT was just a dare Santana." Quinn declared with a smile, thinking it was what the brunette wanted. The words stung for Santana because it wasn't what she wanted. But she gave the girl the best smile she could and showed her what pretending was.
"Okay. Good." Santana confessed with her own fake smile. Quinn didn't want to admit the words did hurt a little but she figured it was for the best.
"So you can have the couch or you can have the bed. I don't really care." Santana said as she sat her glass in the sink along with Quinn's.
"Or we could just share yours. It's not like we haven't before. No need to put you out." Quinn replied and Santana shrugged as they made their way from the kitchen and up the stairs. If Quinn was being honest, she felt this need to be close to the other girl.
"Well I just want you to be comfortable." Santana admitted and Quinn could understand that.
"I mean did either one of use ever sleep in our own bed when we were younger?" Quinn asked with a chuckle and Santana joined in.
"Yeah you're right." Santana agreed as they made it to her room. She gave Quinn pajamas and they both made quick work of getting ready for bed. They were both exhausted from the day and wanted nothing more than to enjoy sleep. The bed was big Quinn got as close to Santana as she could. She had to keep chanting 'keep your hands to yourself' in her head as she lay next to the brunette.
"I had fun tonight." Quinn confessed and Santana smiled as she got a little more comfortable in bed. Neither girl thought they would end up in a lip lock at all tonight and though they both refused to admit it, they liked that they did.
"I'm glad you did. I did too." Santana replied, really having had enjoyed the night with Quinn.
"Goodnight Santana." Quinn declared and Santana returned it. Quinn was exhausted but her mind was still running a mile a minute, hoping to understand all that happened tonight. Her talk a Brittany and kissing Santana. It was all very fascinating and frustrating at the same time. And Quinn had to admit she wanted to kiss Santana again. And again. And probably once more after that. The blonde let out a sigh. She had never felt so electric in her life. Quinn wanted to kiss the girl again so badly but she shut her eyes and wished for sleep to come soon. And that she didn't drift into Santana's arms at night either.
