Chapter 19
A/N: It's been almost a year since the last update so I think it's time I finally admit that I'm not going to finish this (well, never say never but it's highly unlikely). I've had a lot of the rest of this written out or at least planned out for a while now but it's been nearly two years since I started writing this and I just can't seem to join up the dots to finish it.
But there is good news, don't fret! This chapter consists of everything I have written for the ending, as well as my notes of what I planned to write to fill in the gaps. Hopefully it will suffice as an ending because it's the best I can give you.
If you have any questions for me regarding the story or anything else, feel free to message me here or on my tumblr (scarfy36 . tumblr . com)
Without any further ado, I give you a collection of scenes and notes as the makeshift ending of Luvenum Eximius Bellator: Young Superhero
"I'm stumped on this week's glee assignment," Blaine groaned, slumping into his seat next to Mike in math class, their last class of the day.
"You don't have a dream?" he asked. "There's nothing that you'd give anything to have?"
Blaine shook his head. "What about for you?"
"Dancing has always been my dream," he answered. "There's never really been anything else for me."
"Well that's easy for you then, there's never been anything like that for me."
Mike watched as Blaine tapped his tongue ring against his teeth, looking utterly bored until he glanced at his phone. There was a subtle change in his expression – his eyes lit up and the corners of his mouth drew up slightly and Mike knew it could only be Kurt making him look that way.
"Maybe your dream isn't a career or a hobby," Mike suggested. "Maybe it's Kurt."
Blaine looked at him with confusion, clearly thinking it over.
"Or not necessarily Kurt, but the idea of finding a boyfriend like that," Mike added. "It's not hard to tell how in love the two of you are. If I didn't have dancing my next dream would have been finding someone like Tina."
"You might have a point there," Blaine nodded, still deep in thought.
"It's just a suggestion," Mike shrugged.
OoOoOoO
"Did you come up with anything for the glee assignment?" Kurt asked as he drove Blaine home that afternoon.
"Maybe," Blaine answered. "Mike gave me a suggestion that I might do."
"And do I get to find out what that suggestion was?"
"Not until I perform it," Blaine said with a playful grin that didn't reach his eyes.
"You're no fun," Kurt mock-pouted.
"You just don't like surprises."
"True," Kurt shrugged pulling in to Blaine's driveway.
"I'd invite you in but Dad's going to skype me at some point and I'm really tired from not sleeping last night," Blaine said, grabbing his bag from the floor.
"Okay," Kurt said, trying to keep the disappointment out of his voice. "I'll see you tomorrow then."
After a quick goodbye kiss Blaine got out and went inside, his mind still thinking over what Mike had spoken to him about.
He stripped his shirt and jacket off and flopped down onto his bed. He closed his eyes and let his thoughts circle around his head, drifting in and out of sleep until he was jarred back into reality by his phone trilling loudly.
Blaine blinked his eyes open and squinted at the screen. He'd been home nearly three hours and he had a new message from Tony. He knew his father wanted to talk to him about the suit, in particular a new development he'd made about putting implants under the skin of his arms in order to summon the suit remotely.
He pulled out the metal case containing the gloves of his suit and opened his laptop to sign into skype. Tony called him seconds after he logged in and together they began working on the suit.
"You don't have to do this right now, it can wait until you come back to New York if you want to," Tony said through the skype call.
"No, I can do it now, there's no point waiting," Blaine said, his eyes focused on the needle in his hand.
"Just be careful here. It hurts doing it right, I can't imagine what it'll be like if you screw it up."
"I'm somewhat used to needles by now, wouldn't you say?" he brushed a finger over his eyebrow piercing with a half smirk and Tony chuckled appreciatively.
Blaine gritted his teeth and stuck the needle into his arm, squeezing the trigger to release the implant. He winced slightly and removed the needle, loading the next one. "One down, how many more to go?"
"A few more, kid. We could be here a while."
OoOoOoO
Kurt had gotten into the habit of picking Blaine up on his way to school. Each morning he would drop by each morning and cheerfully knock on the door. Most mornings Meredith would still be asleep and Blaine would give him a good morning kiss, sometimes pressing him against the closed door before they left to face the world.
"It's open," was the call that greeted Kurt the next morning as he knocked on the door before entering the small house.
"Have you had breakfast yet?" Kurt called back. "We can stop at the Lima Bean if you want."
"That'd be great," Blaine smiled, emerging from his bedroom pulling a grey V neck t-shirt over his head.
"Blaine, what happened to your arms?" Kurt asked, reaching out to take a closer look at the red marks on Blaine's arm.
"What? Nothing," Blaine jerked his arm away from Kurt's grip.
"Are you sure? It looks really red."
"I'm sure, don't worry about me," Blaine said, pulling his leather jacket over his t-shirt. "Let's just go, okay?"
"You know I'm here if you–"
"I know, now please just drop it," Blaine cut his boyfriend off.
OoOoOoO
Blaine was beginning to feel concerned at how red the implants on his arm had turned. He had tested them with the glove section of his suit and they were working perfectly, but they weren't supposed to be this visible against his skin. He didn't like keeping secrets from Kurt, but he didn't really have much choice with this one.
It was unfortunate that Kurt had seen his arm in the morning, but Blaine had done his best to hide it for the rest of the day, even going as far as wearing long sleeves during his gym period.
OoOoOoO
"No, I don't want a bazooka in it," Blaine said into the phone, glancing around the hallway around him. "A flame thrower? When am I ever going to need a– yes, I know it'd be cool, but– fine, I'll have a flame thrower in it. Yes, I know I can pee in it, and you've told me about going underwater as well."

(Blaine gets scared of how much he's falling for Kurt and tries to distance himself from him, going to New York to work on the suit with Tony – written from Kurt's POV so he doesn't know that's why he went.
He goes to see Jeff for some advice and walks in on Sebastian and Hunter.)
Blaine checked the room number Jeff had texted him again and counted the numbers on the doors he walked past. Dalton was a beautiful school, fancily decorated and obviously very expensive.
When he got to Jeff's room the door was ajar so he pushed it further open and froze at the sight in front of him. After a moment of shock he leaned against the doorjamb, watching curiously.
There were two naked boys on one of the beds, their clothes strewn across the room and their hands and mouths distracted with exploring each other. Blaine's first thought was that Jeff had finally found another guy to screw, but both boys had brown hair, not Jeff's blonde. From there he assumed one of them was Jeff's roommate, Hunter, and he recognised the moan coming from the other boy – it was Sebastian.
"Well, well, well, such a small world isn't it?" Blaine smirked from the doorway when he realised the two hadn't noticed he was there.
Hunter looked up like a deer caught in headlights and Sebastian glanced up with his ever-present smirk. "Blaine? What are you doing here?"
"I came to see Jeff but apparently he's not here at the moment," Blaine answered nonchalantly. "Is this the military school guy you were telling me about?"
"Yeah–"
"Wait, you told someone?" Hunter asked furiously, gathering the sheets around his waist. "You said you weren't going to tell anyone."
"Relax, it's just Blaine. He's good at keeping secrets," Sebastian rubbed the other boy's shoulders to calm him down before turned back to Blaine. "How do you know Jeff?"
"We went to school together in California."
"He never shuts up about you," Hunter rolled his eyes. "I guess I can see why now though."
"Oh you have no idea the kind of stuff we got up to back then," Blaine smirked reminiscently. Sebastian raised his eyebrows questioningly but Blaine ignored him. "I have to ask, Sebastian, what the hell are you doing in Westerville?"
"You said I should find someone I like as much as you like Kurt, and I remembered Hunter so I figured I'd never know if I didn't try," Sebastian shrugged.
"So you flew to Ohio?" Blaine asked, slightly in awe.
"Yep," he nodded. "Only for the weekend, I'll be back in New York by Monday and no one will have noticed."
"Of course you did," Blaine shook his head, chuckling slightly. "But anyway, do you know where Jeff is? I need to talk to him."
"No idea," Hunter said apologetically. "He was in here then Sebastian showed up and he was all for joining in but we threw him out."
"That sounds like him," Blaine laughed. "He's very big on threesomes… I'll leave you two to it." He left with a wave, smirking and chuckling quietly to himself. It really was a small world, one of his ex's roommates sleeping with another of his ex's.
"You're sure he won't tell anyone?" Hunter turned to Sebastian once Blaine had closed the door behind him.
"Positive," the other boy nodded, kissing the back of his neck soothingly. "He's got enough going on that he'll probably forget all about it."
"Good," he nodded stiffly. "Because if my parents or my girlfriend find out–"
"They won't. Blaine won't tell, trust me."
"Mmm," Hunter struggled to form coherent sentences while Sebastian was sucking on his neck. "Wait, so how – mmm – how do you know him?"
"We dated when he lived in New York," Sebastian answered, leaning back against the wall. Hunter nodded silently. "But he's moved on since then, and so have I."
"Good," Hunter smiled and leant back into Sebastian, who wrapped his arms around the other boy.

(When Blaine finally realises he loves Kurt he shall serenade him with Less Than Three by Eddplant – led on by him singing Teenage Dream for the Dreams lessons)
"Kurt, I – shit," Blaine ran his hand through his hair, pacing the floor of his bedroom and tapping his tongue ring against his teeth in a frantic rhythm.
"What is it?" Kurt was curious about his boyfriend's worried behaviour.
"I want to tell you something, but I'm bad with words and I just need you to know and you'll probably take it the wrong way but–"
"Blaine," Kurt interrupted him. "Slow down, what do you want to tell me?"
"Well I don't really know how to say it, so I found a song that kind of sums it up." Blaine picked up the acoustic guitar from its stand and sat beside Kurt on his bed. He gently strummed the intro before he began singing with Kurt's favourite look in his eyes, the one that showed a fierce sense of emotion, the look that told Kurt Blaine meant what he was singing.
"Let me start by saying sorry, I know I don't tell you how I feel, It takes enough to say I want you, but that's not what you need, I care about you, but love's a much stronger word, and "I like you" really doesn't sum up how much you're worth."
Blaine took a deep breath before continuing, "I'm the last straw on the camel's back away, from saying those three words."
"I'm putting a message in this song, and I'll get everyone to sing along, just to let you know how I feel, A valentine on mp3, yours forever, less than three." Kurt's face split into a look of pleased disbelief when he realised what Blaine was saying with this song. All of Kurt's worries that Blaine didn't feel the same way as him were left behind.
"You know I miss you, when my connection goes down, and I can't see your face to make it seem like you came around. Those nights without you, I find it harder to sleep, Even a half bottle of Morgan's, couldn't make me complete."
Kurt was the first person to successfully help Blaine to a full night of sleep, and he had learnt the hard way that Kurt was a better distraction than alcohol.
I'm the hair on the back of your neck's breadth away, from saying those three words, I'm putting a message in this song, and I'll get everyone to sing along, Just to let you know how I feel, A valentine on mp3, yours forever, less than three
Blaine grinned at the smile on Kurt's face. He was horrible at showing his feelings, especially when he didn't know if they would be reciprocated, but the look on Kurt's face was encouraging. "Take the distance from the depths of the deepest ocean, to the surface of Pluto, and multiply by as far as you can count, and you'll still be nowhere near, you'll still have no idea, how much I want to hold you."
Kurt blushed and smiled, beneath Blaine's tough exterior he was unbelievably kind and romantic. He only wished he knew the song well enough to sing the last chorus back to his boyfriend.
"I'm putting a message in this song, and I'll get everyone to sing along, just to let you know how I feel. A valentine on mp3, yours forever, less than three."
"I love you too," was all Kurt could answer before he captured Blaine's lips in a deep kiss, his hand finding its way into Blaine's hair to bring him closer.
Blaine smiled with relief, Kurt was the best boyfriend anyone could ask for. He quickly replaced to guitar to its stand and sat back down, closer to Kurt. Blaine pressed his lips to his boyfriends' and wrapped his arms around the other boy. One of Kurt's hands made its way back into Blaine's hair, the other slid down his torso and began tugging on his shirt. Blaine understood Kurt's intentions and lifted his arms above his head. Kurt pulled Blaine's shirt over his head before fumbling at the buttons of his own shirt. Blaine's hands joined Kurt's and soon he was freed of his shirt as it joined Blaine's on the floor.
Blaine's hands rubbed down Kurt's back and he felt his boyfriend mirror his actions as they shifted to a more comfortable position that brought them closer on the bed. Blaine's hands felt around the curve of his boyfriend's ass before he slid one hand under the waistband of Kurt's jeans, touching him through the thin layer of fabric of his underwear.
This was usually where Kurt drew the line but today he was moving faster than Blaine, already starting to unbutton his boyfriend's pants, his mouth trailing kisses and sucking playfully up and down Blaine's body.
Kurt slid the zipper of Blaine's jeans down and Blaine looked into the other boy's eyes. "Are you sure?" he asked.
"Your Mom's working tonight?"
"She won't be home till ten," Blaine nodded.
"Then, yes, I'm sure," Kurt smiled devilishly, pressing his lips to his boyfriend's. He slid Blaine's jeans down and out of the way, only hesitating for a moment before pulling his boxer-briefs down to meet them.
Blaine's hands made to undress his boyfriend similarly but Kurt grabbed him by the wrists, stopping him. Blaine raised an eyebrow curiously.
"That song was perfect, I thought I should repay you for it." Kurt's mouth trailed down Blaine's jaw, then his neck, leaving kisses and nips as he went. Kurt's mouth explored further down his boyfriend, across his chest, down his stomach, licking across the tattoo on his groin and eventually settling around Blaine's needy cock.
"Remind me to serenade you more often," Blaine said breathlessly.
Kurt's mouth was magic, even though it was the first time he had done anything like this he still made Blaine feel amazing, sucking, licking and teasing in all the right ways.
Blaine had done more many times but this would forever be his favourite memory of intimacy, his boyfriend curled in his arms in their afterglow and completely in love.

(They will build a fort out of sheets because it is adorable
Blaine sings The Only Exception to Kurt in Glee club (maybe with Mike and Puck or Sam) after he sings Less Than Three
"I know I sang to you last night, but I want to do it again in front of all of our friends so they can understand exactly how I feel for you." (Not-so-subtle look at Finn)
Have Blaine sing Control by Janet Jackson
That was supposed to be the climax of the story but there's still a few scenes that didn't really fit anywhere which I've put below.)
OoOoOoO
"Hello Blaine, I'm Dotti from the Superheroes and Sidekicks club," she offered a hand to shake and Blaine took it warily.
"Uh, hi," he said uncertainly. "What do you want?"
"We were interested to see if you wanted to join our club," she said brightly.
"Why would I want to do that?" Blaine crossed him arms over his chest.
"We just thought that because of your–"
"Because my father's Iron Man you thought I might want to join your little club?" Dotti nodded timidly to the fuming Blaine who was breathing heavily through his nose, trying to calm himself down. "No, I don't want to join your club. Please don't ask me again."
"Oh, okay," she said nervously, "thanks anyway…"
"I think you scared her a little," Kurt said.
"Good."
OoOoOoO
"What class do you have next?" Blaine asked during lunch.
"French, why?"
"Because I have biology and it's boring as all hell, I was wondering if you wanted to skip it and hang out for a while," Blaine explained. "I could make it worth your while."
"We have a test soon and I don't want to miss anything," Kurt said.
"Your loss," Blaine shrugged.
OoOoOoO
(A glee club lesson with the theme of 'Home' – Blaine says that nowhere has ever felt like home before but he always feels at home in Kurt's arms)
Blaine picked up an acoustic guitar and began playing the intro of the song, the band joining in to give a fuller sound. Kurt had been listening to the song on repeat trying to learn it and he was excited to perform it to the glee club. His line opened the song, taking the female part of the duet as per usual.
"Alabama Arkansas I do love my Ma and Pa, Not the way that I do love you."
Blaine took the male part of the song and sang the next line, "Well holy moly me oh my, you're the apple of my eye, Girl I've never loved one like you."
"Man o man you're my best friend, I scream it to the nothingness, there ain't nothing that I need."
They tried to contain the smiles on their faces but the song was far too fun to sing. The relaxed beat and the fun lyrics made it a very joyful performance.
"Hot and heavy pumpkin pie, Chocolate candy Jesus Christ, Ain't nothing please me more than you."
Blaine had told Kurt he refused to dance with him but they still found themselves dancing, moving to music into the chorus.
"Home, let me come home, home is wherever I'm with you. Home, let me come home, home is wherever I'm with you."
The horn section of the band played their solo and the boys harmonised the next line with the band.
"La la la la, Take me home. Mama I'm coming home."
Kurt twirled away from Blaine as the shorter boy began the second verse.
"I follow you into the park, through the jungle, through the dark, Girl I've never loved one like you."
"Moats and boats and waterfalls, alleyways and payphone calls, I been everywhere with you (that's true)."
Their twin grins broadened as they harmonised lines and words of the verses with each other.
"Laugh until we think we'll die, barefoot on a summer night, never could be sweeter than with you."
The song spoke of the little things that were sometimes the greatest in a relationship. The small quirks that were special to them were sometimes better than the enormous romantic gestures.
"And in the streets you run afree, like it's only you and me, Geeze, you're something to see."
The rest of the glee club added backing vocals to the chorus, some of them getting up and dancing.
"Home, let me come home, home is wherever I'm with you. Home, let me come home, home is wherever I'm with you."
The harmonies were flawless as the band played their solo.
"La la la la, Take me home, Mama I'm coming home."
Kurt and Blaine played up the Southern accents for the dialogue in the bridge of the song, Kurt leaning lazily on the edge of the piano and Blaine still plucking the strings of the guitar.
"Jade?"
"Alexander?"
"Do you remember that day you fell outta my window?"
"I sure do ‒ you came jumping right out after me."
"Well, you fell on the concrete, nearly broke your ass, and you were bleeding all over the place, I rushed you out to the hospital, you remember that?"
"Yes, I do."
"Well, there's something I never told you about that night."
"What didn't you tell me?"
"Well, while you were sitting in the back seat smoking a cigarette you thought was gonna be your last, I was falling deep, deeply in love with you, and I never told you till just now."
The New Directions re-joined them for the rest of the song.
"Home, let me come home, home is wherever I'm with you. Home, let me come home, home is wherever I'm with you."
Blaine put down the guitar and took Kurt's hand, twirling his boyfriend into his arms. Nowhere felt more like home than when he was in Kurt's arms, or Kurt was in his.
"Home, let me come home, home is wherever I'm with you. Our home, yes I'm home, home is when I'm alone with you."
The glee club were singing and dancing in near-perfect sync, all of them obviously thinking about what home felt like to them.
"Alabama Arkansas I do love my Ma and Pa, Moats and boats and waterfalls, Alleyways and payphone calls."
Blaine and Kurt sang the end of the song the loudest, the rest of the club harmonising along.
"Home is when I'm alone with you! Home is when I'm alone with you."
The club burst into applause at the finish of the song, Kurt still wrapped in Blaine's arms.
OoOoOoO
(Set post-regionals, very angst-heavy and several trigger warnings apply)
"Blaine?" Kurt asked, concern filling his voice at the blank expression on his face.
Blaine slowly looked up from the phone he had been speaking on.
"Who was on the phone?" Kurt asked gently.
"It was… it was Joshua's Mom," Blaine said quietly. "The boy I went to the Sadie Hawkins Dance with," he added to aid Kurt's comprehension. "He… he killed himself last night."
"Oh Blaine," Kurt wrapped his arms around his boyfriend, tears already welling up in his eyes.
"I've barely spoken to him since I left Chicago, but still…"
Kurt just hugged him tighter, knowing there was nothing he could say to comfort the other boy.
OoOoOoO
Blaine was withdrawn and sullen the next day at school, he barely spoke and when he did his tone was dull and uncaring.
He took a seat in the back row during glee club, which Kurt took to be a bad sign. Kurt had convinced him to sit further towards the front and participate more often, but he understood that today Blaine needed to be left alone.
Rachel, however, either couldn't tell or didn't care. "The songs we wrote for Regionals were great, but we can do better and we're going to need to for Nationals. We all need to try to write another original song as soon as we can so we can perfect it, and maybe try it out at Prom."
Blaine clenched his jaw and his eyes flickered from the spot on the wall he'd been staring at.
"And speaking of Prom, Figgins has asked us to sing at this year's Prom," Mr Schuester added. "His other band cancelled and it'll be great preparation for Nationals, so I expect to see you all there."
"All of us?" Blaine asked, garnering some strange looks – it wasn't often he actually spoke up in glee.
"All of you," Mr Schue nodded. "We'll stagger the performances so you get plenty of time to dance with your dates."
"Fucking brilliant," Blaine muttered, rolling his eyes. Kurt squeezed his hand reassuringly and tried to ignore the looks the glee clubbers were giving Blaine.
Blaine was out of the choir room as soon as they were dismissed, and while Kurt was grabbing his messenger bag, Mercedes and Rachel took the opportunity to corner him.
"What's up with Blaine today?" Mercedes asked.
"And why is he so against performing at Prom?" Rachel added.
"It's not really my place to say…" Kurt chewed on his bottom lip anxiously. "He's got bad experiences with school dances and he found out some bad news last night, I don't want to say anything more."
Mercedes seemed appeased and nodded sympathetically, but Rachel still looked unconvinced.
As per usual after a Tuesday rehearsal, the glee clubbers were having coffee at the Lima Bean. Blaine had agreed to come along, and Kurt suspected it was just so he had something to do to distract himself.
"Alright, Blaine, man, what's up with you today?" Puck asked as they gathered around the couches in the coffee shop.
"Just… stuff," Blaine answered unconvincingly.
"It doesn't look like 'just stuff', what's really going on?" Finn pressed.
"Finn, it doesn't–" Kurt tried to divert the conversation.
"It's okay, Kurt," Blaine said quietly. "If they really want to know…" A few of the glee clubbers nodded expectantly. "When I lived in Chicago I went to a dance with the only other out kid in school, a guy named Joshua. After the dance we got beaten up and I spent over a week in hospital. Last night I got a phone call from Josh's mom, who told me that he'd killed himself." Blaine had explained the story in a monotonous voice, but then a spark of anger flared in him. "So I'm sorry if I've been a bit off today and not over-enthused about performing at a dance where I may end up with post-traumatic stress disorder."
OoOoO
(The game of Never Have I Ever that was proposed in chapter 13)
"Never have I ever had a threesome," Sam confessed. Blaine, Puck, Santana and Brittany all raised their glasses.
"Many, many times," Blaine slurred, grinning.
"Never have I ever… umm," Puck racked his brains to think of something he hadn't done, "given a blow job." Several of the girls, along with Blaine and a blushing Kurt drank to that. Finn glared slightly at the pair, apparently he wasn't pleased with what they got up to in private.
When it rolled around to Blaine's turn he had serious trouble thinking of something he hadn't done, he'd been fooling around with girls and guys for far too long. "Shit, what haven't I done?" he asked, looking around for suggestions. "Never have I ever gotten a piercing on an external body part whilst being sober."
"What?" Rachel asked, shocked.
"My tongue was the only piercing I've gotten sober, now drink up," Blaine smirked. Each of the girls for their ears, as well as Puck for his nipple ring, raised their glasses.
Kurt's turn was next, he blushed slightly as he thought of what to say, "Never have I ever slept with someone of the opposite gender." There was a collective groan as nearly everyone drank to that, only the virgins of the room didn't drink.
"Never have I ever gotten a tattoo," Santana confessed, "but I'd like to someday." Blaine was the only one to drink to that, he and Kurt shared a knowing look and were ready to move on before Finn asked to see it.
"Come on man, is it that embarrassing?" he slurred.
Blaine sighed and undid the top button of his jeans, pulling them down enough to reveal the writing on his groin. "Winter is coming – the Stark family motto. I got it when I thought I would never see my Dad again, then a week later he showed up alive. Tony fucking Stark – world's greatest father right there."
Brittany's turn was next, she, like Blaine and Puck, struggled to think of something she hadn't done. "Never have I ever gotten an A at school."
Puck, Finn and Sam were the only ones who didn't drink to that.
"Never have I ever made a sex tape," Quinn proclaimed. Brittany, Santana and Blaine all drank to that.
Kurt raised his eyebrows to Blaine at that one. "You're surprised Jeff's such an exhibitionist?" he asked and Kurt shrugged, nodding.
"Never have I ever smoked a cigarette," Rachel announced proudly. Blaine, Puck, Santana and Quinn had all tried a smoke at some point and downed another shot.
"Are you guys trying to kill me with alcohol poisoning?" Blaine grumbled. "I get that I was a whore and I've done a shitload of stuff, but seriously it's the same people drinking almost every time."
OoOoO
I'll probably post a bit more of the prequel stuff soon, but until then I hope you enjoyed the closest thing to an ending I can give you.
