Crazy Little Thing Called Love
Chapter Nine - That Time When Ella Returned Home
Sunday, at night…
Ella laughed out loud at Han's silly expression. She walked toward him and threw her arms around his neck. The Korean blinked, trying to understand what was going on, wondering if he was hallucinating.
But that was real.
Ella was really there in front of him.
The brunette stepped back and looked directly into his brown eyes; she smiled beautifully and leaned in the direction of his face until she was able to kiss his cheek.
"Ella…" He said once more, still trying to understand the situation.
Han had the goofiest expression on his face.
She laughed of him again.
"What's up, honey?" The brunette said, clearly amused, "I know I'm good looking, but how much longer do you plan on staying still and staring at me?"
"What?" Han said foolishly.
"HAN!" Ella smirked. She had missed him too - not that she'd admit it; Han didn't need any help inflating his ego even more.
"Sorry, I just can't believe you're here." He said, hugging her again. Ella smiled and embraced him back, "How? I mean, how is your friend?"
"Well…" She said with a pout, "He woke up and now he's in observation. I'd stay a few more days, but they said I could come back and that, if something happen to him, they'd call me. Since I wanted to do a surprise, I haven't told anyone that I was coming back to Tokyo. Actually, when we spoke at Friday, I'd already organized my thing."
"That's bullshit." Ella raised an eyebrow when she saw Han's pompous smile, "You came back, because you missed me."
"Oh yeah, Han." She played along, "After all this time that I came to know you, I finally realized that I can't live without you." Ella said ironically, making the quotation marks with her fingers.
"I knew it." He smirked, "Who's in love now?"
The brunette laughed again.
"Asshole." She slapped his shoulder while smiling.
"ELLA!"
She turned to the voice yelling at her and saw Sean running at her direction. When the boy caught up with Ella, he hugged her tightly and spun her around, then put her back to the ground.
"I can't believe you're here!"
"Funny, you're not the first one who said that to me today." Ella teased, looking directly at Han, a playful smile on her lips, "Oh my Gosh! Look at you! You're so big, Sean."
"Shut up, Ella!" Sean said humorously, "You only stayed three months away and not three years. I've already passed through my growth stage."
"I know, but everybody says that when they expend some time out, so I thought I should say it too." Ella shrugged, "Well, it was a waste of time; I thought I'd be more funny."
"You're nuts." Sean mocked her, then hugged her once more, "I missed you, sis."
"I missed you too. Now, let me go because you're crashing me." The brunette complained, although she didn't want to let him go either, "Soooo… What are you, guys, doing?"
"Playing soccer." The boy said cheerfully.
"Is everybody here?" She asked.
"Yeah." Her brother confirmed without caring for her stupidly amount of energy; she was almost jumping at the same place.
"Awesome! Now I don't need to greet everybody separately and I also don't need to wait to see the whole crew. See you later, boys!" Ella walked to the stairs that connected the balcony to the sports ground, "BITCH!" She shouted to someone while opening her arms.
"WHO YOU'RE CALLING 'BITCH', WHORE?"
They heard Neela shouting back.
Ella ran toward the brunette and threw herself at her arms, catching the attention of all people at the soccer field; although all the screaming had already done that.

Wednesday…
"IT'S TIME TO WAKE UP!"
Ella jumped from her bed and looked around, confused. Noticing who had awaken her, she growled angrily, threw herself back onto the bed and covered her head with her blanket, waiting for her sister-in-law to live.
"Come on! GET UP!" Neela said and pulled the blanket away Ella's body.
"Neelaaaaaa…" The brunette whined, "Piss off!"
"No, can't do…" Neela rolled her eyes when, once again, Ella tried to hide from her by putting her pillow over her head, "Let's go, Ella! We're going out."
"Why?" She asked grumpily.
"Because I said so." Neela answered authoritatively, "We're gonna shop. And don't you dare complaining, because I remember you saying that you're a shopaholic."
"I am, but… Was it necessary to be this early?"
"It's never too early to shop!" Neela stated.
Ella looked at her friend boldly who returned her look without blink. Snorting, the brunette got up, grabbed the first cloth she saw in front of her and, looking crossly at Neela, walked toward the bathroom, slamming its door on her way in.
If there was a thing Ella hated the most in her life was to wake up without her biological watch wanting to; being awake by force was the worst thing on the Earth – if you keep all the real bad things that exited on the planet out.
Minutes later, she got out of the bathroom wearing a T-shirt that said 'You Know That I'm No Good', a high-waist jeans shorts and her inseparable military boots. Ella looked around her room, not finding her sister-in-law; she walked to her living room and saw the Australian brunette sitting on the sofa, watching some crap television.
"Let's go, then." Ella said with boredom.
Neela rolled her eyes.
"Quit being a pain in the ass, please." She said sarcastically, "My car is on the parking lot down below."
"We're going by car?" Ella yawned.
"No, we'll ride a donkey. I just came with my car, because it gets fabulous in front of your building." The Australian said mockingly.
"Don't you mock me, Neela." Ella rolled her eyes, "You trespass my apartment, wake me up, make me go out and don't bring me breakfast; I'm the last person you want to be sarcastic with right now." She said threateningly.
Neela looked at her and laughed out loud.
"Ok, ok, ok. That was a good one."
"I wasn't joking." Ella shrugged, "How did you get in here anyway?"
"Han." Neela said plainly, shrugging too.
"That bastard." The brunette said irritably, "I need to hide my key in another place; who knows that way people stop coming in without my permission?"
"Thank you for your consideration." Neela said ironically, causing Ella to roll her eyes, "Let's go already." The brunette got up from the couch and walked to the door.
"We're gonna stop to buy me coffee." Ella ordered, following the brunette outside. They left the apartment and went to the stairs, "What we're going to buy?"
"Something to wear tonight." Neela answered.
"Tonight?" Ella asked, confused, "What about tonight?"
"Han's party."
"But today is Wednesday."
"So?"
"Sooo... Han's party is always on Fridays and Saturdays." Ella nagged, "Wednesday is still school night.
"Han wanted to change a little bit." Neela shrugged, "Don't look at me like that! It wasn't my idea; it was Han's. Be mad at him."
Ella looked strangely at Neela. Some minutes later, she just shrugged… Who understood that man anyway?

"Neela?" Ella said, "Don't you think we're too fancy for a party at the garage? I mean, it really looks like we're gonna dine at some expensive restaurant or some shit."
"No! Besides you're never going to fit inside some classy place with that mouth of yours." Neela mocked her, making Toretto put her tongue out and show it to her.
She was in front of a mirror, staring at herself. Ella didn't look like her; she was wearing a brown dress covered with a black lace veil that went over her knee with black high-heels. The brunette had her hair up in a messy bun that framed her face; she had a dark eyeshadow on her eyes and a nude lipstick with some transparent gloss on which made her lips look creamy.
Definitely, too much for the kind of party they were going to.
"It's perfect." Neela answered while finishing her makeup. Ella inclined her head, still looking at the mirror and analyzing her looks, "For God's sake, Ella! If I said it's good, then it's good!"
"But I didn't say anything." She said with her eyes widened, staring Neela with a scared expression on her face.
"But you thought about it." The Australian said stubbornly, "Let's go, before Sean send the S.W.A.T time after us." She grabbed Ella's hand and dragged the brunette out of the house she lived with the Texan, "And we still need to pass by Reiko. She's coming with us."
Neela locked the door and they both went to Ella's white Fisker Karma that was parked in the other side of the small street.
"Y'know, it was foolish make me drive to your apartment so you could grab your car and drive back to my apartment, only because you wanted to go to the party with it." Neela said, rolling her eyes.
"Hey! Up to now I've only been in other people's cars." Ella complained, "I love my baby and I miss him."
They got into the car – while Neela was rolling her eyes at Ella's weirdness again – and drove off to Reiko's house.
"Thank God!" Reiko shouted when she saw Ella's car. She opened the backside door and got in, "Finally! I thought you weren't coming anymore."
"Ella took ages to get ready." Neela teased.
"'Ella' your ass. Who took half an hour to decide which eyeshadow color to use?" The brunette asked impatiently while accelerating the car, making Reiko laughs, "What's in the package, Reiko?"
"Hnnnnnn…" The Japanese girl stalled, "It's a new model of a cylinder that I'm taking to Han."
"It's wrapped with birthday wrapping paper."
"I know." Reiko said, looking at Neela and mentally asking for help, "But it's a surprise."
"Surprise to whom?" Being curious as she was, Ella asked.
"To Han, obviously." Neela jumped into the conversation, "He's been looking for it since forever."
"And I want a job promotion. Sooo…" Reiko concluded.
Ella raised an eyebrow and ignored the oddness of her friends. She drove toward the alley that stayed on the other side of the garage. When they arrived, the girls got out of the car and Ella turned its alarm on, making Reiko and Neela look sarcastically at her.
"What?" The brunette asked defensively, "Do you know how much this car cost? I like it too much to let someone steal it from me."
They got inside an establishment that looked like a bar and walked toward a hidden door; Neela opened it and waited until everybody was inside to close it. The girls walked through a hall with no paint on the walls that made a lot of turns.
"I feel like I'm getting into the underworld." Ella joked, making Neela and Reiko laugh. In the last turn of the hall – when it was possible to hear music playing at party nights – everything was silent. Ella raised an eyebrow, "Are you sure there's a party tonight?"
"Yep." Reiko confirmed.
"If I get in there all fancy pants and there isn't anyone, I'll kill you both." Ella complained.
"Chill out!" Neela shrugged, "If there isn't a party going on, at least, we're hot."
"And dressed as if you're going to a freaking bistro." Ella said ironically, opening the metal door and getting into the 'night club', "NEELA!" She said through clenched teeth, "Why is fucking dark in here? Why the lights are out? I'm gonna kill you." The brunette heard someone laughing, "Ha ha ha… Sooooo funny! I'm leaving…"
Ella was interrupted when the lights were turned on.
"SURPRISE!"
"What the hell?" Ella widened her eyes.
"See, you inpatient person?" Neela teased, "There's a party after all."
The Australian walked toward Ella and hugged her.
"Happy birthday, sister-in-law."
Ella hugged Neela back bemusedly. Then Reiko got closer and hugged her too while wishing happy birthday to the brunette; the Japanese girl gave her the package that was supposed to be Han's cylinder. Ella took the gift with a foolish expression on her face.
The whole club was decorated with – believe or not – green and black balloons glued into the walls and ceiling or just lying on the ground. There were also pieces of paper and confetti in the color of silver everywhere. Colorful lights shined and flashed through the sound of a new Japanese song. The color of the walls that before were pink, blue and orange, now was painted to match the party's decoration. On the corner of the room, there was a table with food and a birthday cake; and on the wall, over the table, there was a banner with the phrase: "Happy Birthday, old lady!"
The brunette laughed.
Ella smiled emotionally; no one has ever done that to her. She didn't know half of the people there, but that didn't matter. The brunette didn't care they were there just to party and not because of her birthday; the real reason she was happy was because her friends had gone to the trouble to do this.
"Hey, Ella!" Sean called her. He got closer and hugged his sister tight, "Happy Birthday, sis."
"I forgot completely." She said, still on her tiptoes, hugging her younger brother. 'Holy crap! He really grew up.'
"I know." He smiled, "You always forget it and we helped by not remembering you of it." Sean winked, making his sister smile and kiss his cheek, "By the way, congrats, Nee. You're able to trick Miss-Distrustful here."
"I told you I could." Neela said, hugging her boyfriend.
Ella rolled her eyes and stuck her tongue out at the brunette.
"BABY GIRL!"
"Hey, Twinkie." Ella smiled sweetly at the boy.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" He shouted and hugged her. Laughing, Ella hugged him back. If her brother was tall, Twinkie was really short.
"Thank you." She kissed his cheek too, "How did you get everything ready?"
"Well, we painted the walls at Monday, let it dry at Tuesday morning and then we fixed the lights and decoration. Today we just filled all the balloons in, took the banner and the cake and decorated the place to look like a birthday party." Twinkie said cheerfully.
"It's perfect! Thank you all! I don't even know what to say…" The brunette smiled.
"Do you want me to take the gift to the same place the others are? So you can open it all later and all together." Reiko asked, making Ella smile gratefully. The Japanese girl caught it and took it to another table where there were several packages.
"Guys, do you mind if I walk around to look the decoration?" Ella asked.
"Go ahead." Sean shrugged, making the brunette smile.
She left her friends alone for a moment and walked toward the table which had the cake. Ella laughed aloud when she saw that the cake's shape was a green Dodge Challenger with black stripes over the hood; now she understood the party's decoration and color scheme.
"Hey, Grumpy."
Ella smiled sweetly, knowing who the person was even before looking at him.
"Hey, hot stuff!" The brunette teased Han, "Nice changes you've done here."
"The place needed something new for a change." The Asian shrugged, "I think it looks better this way anyway."
"And you let them paint it? Simple as that?" Ella raised an eyebrow.
"It's your birthday. I think it was worth it."
They were in silence for a while. Han looked directly at her, making her look at him puzzled and laugh shyly.
"What?" She said, putting a loose strand of her hair that was bothering her behind the ear.
"Happy birthday, Ella."
"Thanks." The brunette smiled.
Han got closer and kissed her cheek slowly. He pulled back enough to let his nose leaning against her. Ella's heart turned into an Olympic gymnast when she felt his warm breath touching her face; she put her hands on his chest without realize how close to her he was.
The Asian touched her cheek with his lips once more.
"Many happy returns of the day." He said with his lips still leaning against her face, making her gasp.
"Thank you." She said inaudibly.
Han smirked and walked away quickly, leaving her alone, dizzy and in need to lean on the table for balance.
"Holy Crap!" Ella said to herself with wide eye.
"What was that?"
"JESUS! Where did you come from?"
"I was here all the time! And don't you change the subject!" Neela rolled her eyes at her sister-in-law.
"I have absolutely no idea, Dungeon Master."
"Ella…"
"I mean it!" Ella cried, "I have absolutely no idea!"
Neela shrugged.
"Whatever… Let's dance and allow Han be as much a weirdo as he wants!"
The Australian grabbed Ella's hand and dragged her to the dance floor, making the brunette laughs and follows her friend without complain. They met Reiko and the boys among an amount of people, dancing all together in a circle.
"Guess who is going to dance in the middle of the circle?"
"Don't you dare, Neela!" Ella said irritably.
"You're the birthday girl and birthday girls always dance in the middle of a circle." Neela teased her friend merciless.
"Screw you! I ain't doing that."
Being completely ignored, Ella was pushed toward the center. Once she counted to ten and sighed angrily, she finally started to dance for she knew her sister-in-law was an impossible force to go against.

Han gazed her across the room. He was sitting in a black couch surrounded by the same old people: women and races. The Asian wasn't paying attention to what was happening around him; his eyes were focused on Ella dancing. The way she moved slowly and sensually, following the beat of electronic music flowing from the speakers; she was driving him mad and he couldn't control himself anymore.
Han got up and, ignoring all around him, walked over to the circle formed by his friends; Ella was among them – that until they form pairs and leave her alone. She pouted when she realized that.
"And they left me." Han heard her say when he got close enough of her without being noticed, "Nice." He laughed behind her, making her straighten her back. The Asian placed his hands on Ella's waist and leaned his back against her chest; he moved slowly following the music.
Ella didn't move.
Han lowered his head to her ear and bit her earlobe weakly, making her shiver, "Dance, Ella." He ordered, whispering in her ear.
Slowly, she began to move with him.
After a while dancing, Ella turned to him and wrapped her arms around his neck, the brunette looked deep into his eyes. Han smirked, making her blush and look away. He laughed and buried his face in her neck, spreading kisses along it, making her shrink. They danced a few songs in silence until Han pull away and touch his forehead into hers – his nose leaned against hers too – and he looked straight into her eyes.
"Come with me." He said intensely.
Ella nodded without a second thought. He smirked and, taking her by the hand, took her to the door that would lead to the garage. They went to the elevator and Han led her to the balcony on the top floor.
He closed the French door after the brunette went through it, "I wanna give you something."
Ella looked at him shyly, "What?" Han held out a package, she took it and opened it. Her eyes widened when she saw a velvet box inside it, "You bought me a jewel?" She asked in disbelief.
Han shrugged.
"Open it." He said, leaning against the railing.
Ella raised an eyebrow and opened the velvet box. She looked at jewel in complete disbelief; it was a beautiful thing. Her gift was a gold chain with a pendant of a sport car.
She laughed.
Han stared at her eyes; they had the most beautiful glow that he had ever seen.
Embarrassed, the brunette looked back at the necklace. Her eyes widened when he saw of what was made the car's headlights.
"Are these diamonds?" She almost yelled, looking at Han with wide eyes. He shrugged, making Ella shakes her head, "It's beautiful, but I can't take it; it must have cost a small fortune." She said, putting the jewelry inside the box and returning it to him.
Han rolled his eyes and took the jewel box.
"Turn." He told her.
"Han..."
"Turn!"
Ella sighed and gave up, turning her back to him as he had asked. Han moved closer and touched his chest on her back; he put the necklace on her and rested his hands on her shoulders.
Ella shivered and turned to face him.
"Thank you." She said weakly, making him nod in reply.
They looked at each other deeply.
Han leaned forward, bringing his face closer to hers. Ella's heart pounded like drum inside her chest; would he do what she thought he was going to do? When his nose touched hers, she closed her eyes, waiting for his next move. Han pulled back a little to see her reaction, grinning at her eyes closed. Getting closer once more, Han pressed his lips to hers gently. Ella sighed and pressed back against his. Passing her arms around him, she stroked the back of his neck, making him shiver. Han slid his tongue over her lips, tasting them; the brunette opened them immediately, giving him permission to deepen the kiss. Wasting no time, he did just that, conducting the kiss slowly.
"Ell... Oops!" Ella pushed Han away of her, "Sorry, guys. I didn't know! I didn't want to interrupt anything."
"It's okay, Tosh." She coughed, trying to regain her voice. Before saying something else, she waited a while trying to catch her breath, "You didn't. You want something?"
"Yeah, actually. They're crazy to eat the cake… To do that they need to sing 'happy birthday to you' and they sent me looking for ya. Sooooo…" Tosh scratched his neck in embarrassment.
"Of course! Hmmm…" Ella said quickly and, without turn her gaze to Han, left hurriedly; she passed by Tosh with her head down and ran into the elevator, pressing the button without waiting for them.
"My bad." Tosh said, looking at the closed elevator door, "Sorry, man…"
"I ain't saying anything." Han complained.
"Yeah, I know." Tosh shrugged, "Come on. We've to sing happy birthday to your girlfriend."
"Shut up." He snorted and walked to the elevator.
