*SHORTLY AFTER CHAPTER ONE*

"Are you guys sure you want to go to the Underworld?" Marceline asked, lying on the couch and polishing her axe base. "It's pretty harsh down there, ya know." She pointed at them. Finn stepped towards her.

"Marceline, you don't understand. We're on a mission to find a lost princess!"

"Yeah, and? People get lost all the time. You can't help everybody, Finn."

Finn growled. "MARCELINE!"

She laughed. "I was just messing with you, Finn. So who's it this time? Did Lumpy Space Princess run away again?"

"Nope." Finn shook his head. "Then who is it?"

"Uuuuuuhhhhhhh," Finn said and looked around. "I-I can't tell you."

"Why?" Marceline sat up, smirking as she asked "So it's a secret, huh?"

Finn shook his head again. "No- I mean yes, I mean, UGH!"

"I think what Finn is trying to say is," Jake butted in, "is that we're not quite sure yet."

Marceline raised her eyebrow. "How can you not be sure if it's a secret?"

"Umm..." Finn scratched his head.

"You know what, let's just go to the underworld, look there, and if she's not there, we'll go check out LSP's place." Jake grabbed Finn by the collar of his shirt, and motioned to Marceline.

"Whoa, hold on. I didn't say I'd-"

"MARCELINE!"

"Fiiine." Marceline floated over to an umbrella holder, and reached behind brought back what looked like the Grim Reaper's scythe, and cut into her wall.

"Whoa!" Finn and Jake's eyes sparkled.

"Just promise me you'll leave everything the way you find it," Marceline said warningly. Finn and Jake saluted her. "Ok, let's go." Jake jumped in, extending his arm, and pulling Finn in along with Marceline not too far behind. Around them was a tunnel of pure fire, but they weren't burning up in flames

"What is this place?"

"This," Marcy held out her arms, "is the portal of Purgatory. It's the thing that transports you to the Underworld."

Finn looked arouned. "Why aren't we burning up?" he asked.

"Well," Marceline said. She looked ready to explain when Jake waved his arms around.

"Somebody call 9-1-1! Purgatory's burnin' in the Underworld, a-whoa-oh!" Jake danced arouned them and continued to sing his song.

"Understand?" Marceline asked.

Finn nodded and answered "Completely. Let's go."

Marceline poked Finn and Jake in the back with her base. "Ok boys, hands and arms inside Purgatory at all times. Oh, and don't believe the guys that come up to the walls. They look friendly, but they just wanna steal your body to get back to life." Just then a sprit-like figure came up and howled arouned Finn, Jake, and Marceline.

"Gah!" Jake yelped. "How's that look friendly?" Marceline just laughed.

*LATER IN THE UNDERWORLD*
Marceline floated over to a metal door covered in pictures of struggling people. "Follow me." Willingly, Jake and and Finn followed her into an enormous room filled with paintings of skeletons, jars full of evil souls, and a distinct smell of green apple. Jake sniffed the air happily as they walked through the room. Not noticing Marceline had stopped, he walked into her back. "Ooff!"

"Hey Marvin," Marceline said to a skeleton sitting behind a big black obsidian desk. Marvin looked up and cracked a smile at the seemingly oblivious Marceline. "Why if it isn't little Marcy Marceline. I haven't seen you here since-"

"Sorry Marvin, I have important business to attend to." Marceline cut him off. "Can you help Finn and Jake here? They're missing a friend."

Marvin nodded. "But of course," he replied, picking up a quill pen and pulling a piece of parchment towards him. Finn stepped forward. "What does your friend look like?" Marvin asked. Finn handed him the painting that Food Princess gave to him. Marvin stared at it for longer than he should have.

"Dude, did you see her or not?" Jake asked.

"Nope!" Marvin said cheerily, returning the painting.

Finn and Jake squinted one eye closed and looked at each other with the open eye. Then they both pointed at each other and yelled "I CALL BAD COP!"
