So... This is my fist story here in ... Please tell what you think of it, and... well... yeah...
I do not own Naruto nor any of it's characters. I also do not own the image, I just think is beautiful, and it inspired me to write this.
He was sitting by the lake shore, watching his sorrowful reflection. He finally understood… how could he have missed it? It was so freaking obvious! He lost her and now... he couldn't do anything about it. He heard steps nearing him. He didn't turn to see who it was, he KNEW who it was. He saw her reflection next to his as she took a seat next to him. She drew her knees to her chest and wrapped her arms around them, she looked… troubled.
"Kiba-kun, are you alright?" her voice was so soft, as it was every time she felt embarrassed. He stayed silent, he had so many questions for her, but… he had no idea where to start, so he asked the first thing that came to his mind.
"You… you and him… are you…?" he couldn't put it in a formal sentence, how to ask her something that he was so scared of finding out? She blushed, her face almost as red as HIS hair.
"We… ano… I… y…yes…" she finally admitted. His chest hurt, he could swear that he always knew that he was going to be beaten by Naruto, and he was prepared for that, but this… this had caught him off-guard. He let out a shaky breath.
"How long have you two…" he couldn't keep going, his voice had cracked and he had to close his eyes to stop the stinging sensation in them.
"About 2 months" she hid her face between her arms. Kiba gasped, that was a month after she got to Suna, how did this happen so fast? "How? I mean… it was so…"
"Fast?... Yes, probably. Though it didn't start there, we just kind of, started where we had left it…" her voice was still barely audible, but he had been paying enough attention to hear her.
"When did it begin?" he was so surprised to know that it hadn't started there that he had forgotten that he was about to cry.
"um… i-it st-started when we went to the fountain's mission" she blurted out in the same soft voice. Kiba felt his rage grow rapidly "what do you mean it started there? WE were together there!" he was yelling now. He wanted to get up and leave, but for some reason he also wanted to know what she had to say. She had closed her eyes when he started yelling, she knew this was going to happen, what could she do? She didn't want to lose him; he was her friend, one of her two best friends! "Kiba-kun, please forgive me. We didn't do anything then, I swear it! We just kind of started talking more, spending more time together, but nothing happened then" her hands were now close to her chest and she was kneeling next to him with her eyes closed and tears falling from her closed eyes. Kiba was still very angry, but seeing her like that he couldn't help but believe her. They had broken up a month after that mission and that had happened 5 months ago. He sighed, yes, he felt betrayed and hurt but, he also loved her and wanted her to be happy.
Hinata opened her eyes, fully surprised to feel the strong embrace that she hadn't felt in 6 months. She knew that Gaara had been the reason she had broken up with Kiba but at that time she had convinced herself that it was because she needed to be alone. Now she knew that it was because she wanted to be with Gaara, because she understood that the love she felt for Kiba was one of a sister for her brother. She returned the hug and whispered "I'm sorry".
Gaara stood with his arms crossed in one of the nearest trees, he had heard everything. He knew what it was like to break a heart (Matsuri's case was just a little harder than the one he was now witnessing) so he understood Hinata's feelings. He sighed as he closed his eyes and uncrossed his arms, he was going to give them their space, he moved to the camp where his siblings and Shino were having dinner.
