I have the other chapter already written just need to type it up and it will be posted soon.
Happy (belated) Thanksgiving. As usual I own nothing if I did I wouldn't have to be surviving on leftovers this week.
Chapter 12
The Suite Life
It took about an hour to get Scarlett back to sleep after Dean checked her over for any injuries. She had no injuries, but may develop a bruise or two. In the mean time Scarlett was upset over her uncle's behavior. Dean was shaking mad, but kept it in check for Scarlett's sake.
Bobby watched the father/daughter interaction, not addressing the elephant in the room until Scarlett was asleep. He stood outside of Scarlett's room as Dean sat next to his daughter until she fell asleep. Bobby was relieved that despite the poor example of a father Dean had with John that Dean was turning into a great dad.
Dean came out of the room slowly closing the door. Bobby was for once at a loss of words. He didn't approve of Sammy's actions, but at the same time understood that Sam on demon's blood made him a stronger player. Dean walked past Bobby, he knew only one person who could really help him.
He found himself standing out back. Keeping a vigilant watch on Scarlett's window while praying to Cas.
"Prayer is a sign of good faith." Dean turned to find Cas standing right behind him. Castiel's gaze was cast up to Heaven before he turned his attention to Dean.
"I need help. Sam he is hopped up on demon blood. He is off to find Ruby and trying to kill Lilith. I need your help Cas." Castiel pursed his lips and looked around as if searching for spies.
"We can help, but I need something from you." Dean stepped closer.
"What is it?"
"You must swear your obedience to Heaven. And know that when we need you – you will serve us." Castiel explained.
"What like a favor?" Dean scrunched up his face. Castiel looked up at Scarlett's window and back at Dean. Dean tensed before Cas spoke again.
"You swear your obedience." It was more of a statement then a question. Dean clenched his jaw. He had to do this not just for Sam but for Scarlett too.
"Yes." Dean gritted out.
"Then say it out loud and repeat after me." Shortly after Cas disappeared Dean was left to play the waiting game.
"Dean? Dean! Did you listen to a word I said?" Bobby snapped. Dean was staring at Scarlett as she took a bite of her breakfast. He snapped out of his concentration and looked over at Bobby. The older hunter sat at the kitchen table his arms crossed. Dean angrily shoved a bite of his pancakes in his mouth. He was not having this conversation with Scarlett present. Dean wiped his mouth on his napkin.
"Scarlett go finish your breakfast in the living room and turn the TV on." Scarlett grabbed her fork and plate she gave her daddy a syrupy kiss before leaving the kitchen. Bobby started to talk again, but Dean held his hand up to wait. Once he heard 'The Suite Life of Zach and Cody' did he turn to speak to the hunter.
"I heard you, but he hurt Scarlett. And I don't feel like calling him to apologize for telling him to go. He made his choice." Dean snapped before taking the dirty dishes to the sink.
"We're kind of at the kick off to the Apocalypse here. We need Sam. Now that doesn't excuse what he did, but you two are…"
"What blood? Is that what you're going to say?" Dean growled as he began to scrub at the pan.
"Dean…."
"What…" Dean whirled around, but he no longer found himself in Bobby's kitchen, but in an elaborate room that looked like it was inspired by Versailles.
"Hello Dean." Dean turned to find Castiel standing in the middle of the room. "It's time."
Scarlett got up from the couch when she heard Grandpa Bobby shouting for her dad.
"Daddy?" Scarlett walked in to find the water in the sink running and Grandpa Bobby looking very confused. The older hunter pivoted around to find Scarlett standing in the entrance to the kitchen. "Where is my Dad?"
"I don't know." Grandpa Bobby answered. Scarlett began to look around the kitchen as if he was hiding in the corner when she heard the flutter of wings behind her. "Scarlett come here!" Bobby ordered.
"Hello Scarlett Winchester." Zachariah smirked, Scarlett backed away slowly towards her grandpa.
"Where is my dad?" She spoke with an assertive enough voice despite her frightened expression that surprised everyone in the room.
"I'm going to take you to him." Zachariah reached out for Scarlett, suddenly Bobby was standing between them protectively shoving Scarlett behind him.
"Do you really think you can stop me?" Bobby glared he knew the angel could easily smite him, Zachariah sighed. "I am taking her to a safe place and to her father and Castiel. Do you honestly believe she is safer here?" The old hunter didn't budge. Before Bobby could even blink Zachariah had grown impatient and took the child.
Castiel was in another beautiful room, he was waiting on his superior as ordered. He sensed Zachariah's presence and turned to address him. Castiel found Zachariah holding Scarlett. Cas's chest suddenly felt like a dozen elephants sat on him.
"Uncle Cas!" Scarlett cried and ran over to the trench coat angel.
"No." Castiel pleaded to his superior.
"Consider her an insurance policy. Besides she is safer here than out there with demons hunting her." Scarlett looked confused between the two angels.
"Where is my dad?" She asked again, Zachariah plastered a fake smile on.
"We're going to go tell him you're here." With that Scarlett found herself clutching air.
Dean smirked at the angels when they appeared in front of him.
"Well how about this. The suite life of Zach and Cas." Castiel and Zachariah's faces contorted in confusion. Dean rolled his eyes. "It's a … you know never mind Scarlett would get it." At the mention of her name Castiel piped up.
"She's here. She is safe Dean." Dean whipped around so fast it was a wonder the human didn't get whip lash.
"Where? And why are we here?" Dean demanded. Zachariah cast a look of disappointment at the other angel before speaking to Dean.
"We are keeping both of you safe." Dean glared he didn't buy this for a second.
"I've been gettin' my butt kicked all year! Now you're sweatin' my safety? You're lying. I want to see Scarlett now."
"That can be arranged." Zachariah nodded permission to Castiel who instantly disappeared. Dean looked at the angel who made himself comfortable.
"How am I supposed to ice Lilith from here anyway?" Zachariah folded his hands in his lap.
"You're not going to ice Lilith."
"What?!"
"Lilith is going to break the final seal."
"But Sam and I we can stop it…" Dean saw the doubtful expression on the angels face and suddenly realized. "You don't want it stopped. You never did."
"Nope. The Apocalypse is coming to a theatre near you." Zachariah responded sarcastically looking very smug.
"What about all that crap about savin' seals?"
"Propaganda for the grunts on the ground. Honestly don't you think if we wanted to stop it we could."
"But why?"
"Because Dean when our side wins and we will win, it will be paradise on Earth." Dean couldn't believe what he was hearing the lives lost, all their hard work, the sacrifices everything for what? A cheap advertisement to give those in the know false hope. Dean's hatred for the bald angel grew.
"What about all those innocent people caught in the middle?" The angel shrugged as the artwork in the background slowly changed from Rococo to dark religious pieces.
"Some minor collateral damage it happens." Dean glanced at a nearby statue a perfect candidate for a heavy blunt object. Before he or Zachariah could do anything Castiel appears with Scarlett. Scarlett runs over to her father, he scoops her up and holds onto her tight glaring at Zachariah over her shoulder.
"And what about Sam?"
"Oh he has a very important part to play." Zachariah picked some imaginary lint from his suit.
"What does that mean?" Dean demanded. Zachariah looked frustrated with this constant line of questioning while Castiel looked very sheepish.
"Forget about him. There is a reason I'm confiding in you. You're still vital. Both of you are we didn't lie about your destiny just omitted some details."
"What does that mean?" Zachariah stood up as if ready to leave.
"You are chosen to stop Lucifer." Zachariah stopped in front of Dean. "Of course you will be richly rewarded when you do." He reached out to stroke Scarlett's hair. Dean stepped back shielding his daughter from the angel's advances.
"What about Scarlett?" Dean looked over at Castiel who looked away. Anger and betrayal started grumbling in the pit of his stomach. Why was Castiel cowering now? Why was he being the obedient soldier?
"Consider her our back up plan." Dean quickly drew in his breath and looked down at his daughter.
"What do you mean? How am I suppose to stop the devil? What is this big plan?!"
"Can't show our entire hand now Dean." With that the angels disappeared.
AHHHH cliff hanger. Like I said next chapter is ready to be typed up. Going to give my hands a rest then get to work. If you want the rest of the chapters to follow shortly reviews are greatly appreciated. If you have any ideas or input you'd like to add I would love to hear them. Might not go with that angle but could see if it would work.
