They had been like this since their days back at Teikō. Always spending time together. Always smiling.

They got along well. Perfectly, even!

But that had all changed as their days at Teikō came to a close.

Everyone had changed. Even Kuroko himself.

In hindsight (which was always 20/20 for Kuroko), he could have done something sooner to at least help Aomine. He could have stopped the other's strange behavior. The avoidance. Everything. And yet, he did nothing to help him.

Is that what brought him here, on the rooftop with the other? Their faces so close that he could feel the warmth of the other's breath. That the other could smell the recent vanilla shake he had drank (which he vocally announced was far too sweet).

Was it guilt that led him to press a gentle kiss against his lips? Guilt that made him encourage the other as he nipped gently along the smooth skin of his neck.

Or was it love?

The rustling of uniforms was the only noise as the two boys pressed closer, their bodies melding together.

"Are you sure?" His voice was unusually soft, uncertain. Something Kuroko found out of character for someone who was always so sure of himself.

"Yes."

In that single moment, blinding pain.

Kuroko could only grit his teeth at it, his entire body tensing. Even with the (pitiful) preparation that had been done, it felt as if nothing had been done at all.

It took, what felt like, forever for the pain to fade. And even then, remnants of it remained to cause him discomfort.

"Sorry Tetsu." He didn't sound all that apologetic.

A few more quiet moments, as if Aomine was unsure of what to do from there. Rather, unsure if he should continue.

But Kuroko wouldn't, couldn't, let it stop.

He moved his hips gently, grinding lightly against the other. It evoked a rather loud moan, and so he tried again, coaxing him to move.

Before long, he was sprawled out under the other, stifled cries trying to escape into the air. Aomine, on the other hand, had stopped with the uncertainty. His thrusts were now deeper, faster, and that air of confidence returned.

Again their lips met in a heated kiss, both of them at their climax.

That had been his first experience, ever.

This was something else. Someone else.

"Do you do this with all your lights?" Kagami snorted, watching Kuroko with a vague amusement. "Or is this a special thing?"

The other offered no response, he simply continued to undo the stubborn buttons on his shirt. His brow was furrowed in frustration though, and Kagami took the hint that his teasing had not been appreciated.

"Sorry." He grumbled, rolling his eyes as Kuroko jabbed him in the side.

Yelping in pain, he crumbled to the floor, eyes narrowed as he looked up. "Alright then."

Back to his feet in a second-

on top of Kuroko in less than five.

This time was no different from the last.

The same searing pain.

The same uncertainty.

The same everything.

But it felt so empty.

He loved Kagami...

He loved him.

He was his new light and-

Empty.

Even now, as they both reached their limits, it felt pointless.

And then-

"Daiki!"

Both were now clean, and an uneasy silence settled in the room.

"Him?"

Kuroko cringed at the hurt in Kagami's voice, moving quicker to leave. Eventually vanishing from sight, as was common for him.

Left staring at where the shadow had been, alone, Kagami swore, tears dotting his eyes.

"I will beat him!"
