Hey guys! This is my first Wolf's Rain Fan fiction. I'm using my character Raven. She is the calm and more serious original character. Hope you enjoy!

I do not own Wolf's Rain or any of their characters. I only claim rights to the plot and Raven.

~Wolf's Rain~

Ever since I can remember my life has been one difficulty after another. I've grown use to the betrayal, the hunger, the loneliness, and the ever present pain. Nothing in my life has been simple or easy, I know how to survive, to endure.

But this, I swear this was going to kill me! The annoying runt of a wolf I found in the woods would not shut up! It's annoying the hell out of me! He keeps talking about the other wolves he was traveling with, Kiba, Tsume and Hige. I was just looking for a meal and I get stuck with the most irritating kid in the world. "Hey kid! Shut up!" I growled at him, and watched his face crumble.

"Sorry, I was just trying to be friendly." He said softly and looked away.

"I don't need friends" I mumbled, "And I'm not helping you find your pack so once we get to the village get lost. I don't need you bugging me every time you need help. Got it?"

"O-ok, thanks for taking me, I got kinda lost." He smiled and rubbed the back of his head as I frowned at him and kept walking. "You know you remind me of someone. You sure you don't want to meet my pack? You can be part of it! I'm sure the guys will love you!"

"No. I don't need a stupid pack. I can take care of myself. Always have, always will. And judging by you, you guys would only slow me down." His only response was silence and a pitiful glance in my direction.

Soon after the town came into sight and Toboe started to sniff the air excitedly. After a few moments he perked up and started running to the town. He turned around and looked at me, "Hey, you never gave me your name."

Sighing I looked over at him, "It's Raven, now get lost."

"Thanks Raven! Maybe I'll see you around!" he smiled then ran off.

I entered the town at night hoping I wouldn't run into another pack. The town was pretty large; there were tall skyscrapers in the center for the richer people and the government officials. The further you went from the center the smaller the buildings got. The whole town was surrounded by a thick forest, and under it were many tunnels. The streets were currently deserted of people, but in the morning it would be filled with vendors, people, dogs, children, and chances to steal food. My stomach rumbled quietly, mocking the fact I lost my chance to hunt the minute I had found that runt.

I walked down the empty street and let my disguise drop. The quiet sound of my footsteps echoed through the alley. I reached the back of the alley and slowly lay down and curled my tail around myself. I looked around once before closing my eyes and falling into another dream.

~In the Dream~

I opened my eyes to see my mother. She had thick black fur, a bushy tail, and pale green eyes. "Good morning Raven." She licked my head. "One of your friends is under the tree. Why don't you go play with him?"

"Ok mom!" I barked and dashed toward the tree we always met at. I looked around but no one was there, "Hello?" I looked behind me to see the gray pup running at me with a mischievous smile. Before I could react he pounced on me and we rolled around laughing. He ended up pinning me to the ground while smiling.

"I'm the alpha! Now you have to listen to me!" he boasted loudly as I struggled to get free.

"I do not!" I yelped, "Get off! You're hurting me Tsume!" tears filled the corners of my eyes as I looked up at him.

His smirk faltered and the pressure on my chest decreased slightly. I quickly flipped him over and rolled on top of him. "Haha! You fell for it! I win! I win!" I laughed happily and looked down at his shocked face, "I'm the alpha now! Say it Tsume! I'm the alpha!"

"Never!" he gasped.

"Then I'm not getting off!" I looked down but squeaked in surprise when he began to squirm. I pushed more of my weight onto his chest to hold him down when a shadow passed over us. I felt Tsume stiffen under me and a look of surprise flashed across his face. I sniffed the air quickly before turning around in excitement and leaping off of Tsume. Behind us a large white wolf with icy blue eyes was watching us with amusement. "Father!" I cried out happily, "Did you see me!? I beat Tsume!"

His deep laughter filled the air, "Yes I saw, you fight just like your mother does." His gaze moved towards Tsume, "Don't feel bad Tsume, females always use looks to their advantage. I fell for it too."

Tsume's ears perked up and a smile flashed across his features, "So that means I can still be the alpha?"

"You can't be the alpha yet Tsume." my father said. "Perhaps when you're older and you have a mate of your own you will be."

I watched Tsume puff his chest out and smile up at my father, "Of course I will! I'm going to be the strongest, fastest, and best looking leader ever!" he said as I rolled my eyes. "And Raven and I will be friends forever!"

Opening my eyes I looked around in confusion, a haze of familiar images played out in my mind. The images slowed until only one was left, the image of a young grey pup. I searched for a name, a voice, anything, but all too soon it began to fade like all the other images. But...What were they? Memories? Dreams? And why was it I could never remember any of them.

I sat up and shook myself in attempt to clear my head. I checked to make sure no one was around and put up the human facade. My mouth began to water as I caught the scent of fresh meat. The local butcher always set up early in the morning, I could already taste the raw meat.

I walked to the end of the alley and peered around the corner, searching for the butcher's vendor. I spotting the wooden stall about 20 feet away; all sorts of animals were hanging from hooks and practically dripping with blood. A large man was kneeling next to the stall; he was carving up smaller animals. Taking a closer look I noticed a small gun was placed on the table next to the butcher. Things had just gotten more complicated, he must have finally realized someone, ok it was me, was stealing from him. I slowly walked past him and he rested his hand on the gun, his eyes following my movements. I moved across the street and sat down against a wall; I felt the eyes of the butcher leave me and smiled slightly. All I had to was wait till he was distracted with customers and then I could move in. A large smile danced on my face, this would be easy, fun even. People were slowly filling the street; it was only a matter of time now.

"Wait so let me get this straight, you found another wolf? And you didn't bring them back? And on top of that, it was a girl!? "Hige whined.

"She said she doesn't need friends. She didn't want a pack." Toboe said softly, his face turned downward.

Tsume scoffed. "Sounds like me." He thought, "I wonder how she got Toboe to leave her alone, when even I couldn't."

Kiba paused at the front of the boys and tensed slightly, "What is it Kiba?" Toboe asked quietly.

"Trouble, up ahead. Don't you guys hear the big crowd? And the scent of fresh blood?"

Pausing they all sniffed the air around them, Hige spoke into the silence "That isn't just any blood guys, that's wolf's blood."

The pack took off at a run towards the scent; they soon turned the corner n to the marketplace. Before them a huge crowd had gathered. In the center of the crowd a girl stood at gunpoint by a large man. The pack pushed through the crowd to the middle, "That's her! That's the girl who helped me yesterday." Toboe whispered urgently to the others.

She looked to be about 20 with dark black hair that ended at her shoulder blades; it fell in light waves around her face. She was slender, but well muscled and lightly tanned, she had on tight jeans, with black boots, and a red shirt under her leather jacket. Her eyes were a beautiful ice blue that flashed in defiance at the man before her.

Behind the mask of humanity she was definitely a wolf though. She had thick black fur with a white star on her left shoulder. On her right side you could barely make out a scar that extended from about her third rib to her hind leg. She had the same ice blue eyes that were currently gazing down the barrel of a gun to the man holding it.

"She's beautiful." Tsume thought as something tugged in his chest. "And she looks so familiar."
