Ouran Host Club: Nine Years Later
"Oh my! Where did you get such a terrible cut?" a blushing damsel in a yellow dress asked, her eyes watering at the sight of her beloved injured.
"Don't weep for me princess, this is but a scratch compared to the wound I feel now at seeing you on the brink of tears" the male replied, grabbing her chin and pulling her closer. The girls surrounding them were on the edge of their seats, watching the romance unfold as they waited for their share of the excitement.
"I heard the prince got that from jumping off of the Tokyo tower" one student whispered to another, head shaking while a small pout adorned her features.
"Really? I heard he had a spill when he leaped from one moving motorcycle to the next."
"He leads such a dangerous life; it's simply worrisome!"
"Oh prince, please do take care of yourself. We know you're simply trying to help your mother, but we wouldn't want anything terrible to occur!" The fan girls all boo-hooed at the thought of their affection being torn away from them by some sort of accident.
"I wish it were that simple" the blonde grabbed onto two girls with each hand "But a son's duty is never one to be taken lightly! You must understand my princesses, that my absolute loyalty leads me to make sure my poor mother doesn't have to strain herself with the task of a stunt woman alone. Like the blood she sheds, I shed it as well; the sweat and toil she goes through is mine as well! We are bound by one another!"
The girls clapped whole-heartedly.
"You're an amazing son Miles!"
"Such filial love!"
"So passionate!"
If by now you're still wondering how the Host Project went, well let me just make the situation direct by saying it was a big success. The Host members had to fight for it tooth and nail, and lady Hisayo did put up a good match for a single person, but with the help of the original Host Club guests she defeated without another problem. It took a total of two years to have everything started up and running smoothly, but when it did, the program took off marvelously. Adults began to sign up their teens for the program, making the Ouran elite all the more wanted by colleges and big-time companies; of course there had to be changes to the Host Club itself, because now kids couldn't just fool around as they had used to. Tamaki, with the help of other staff members, took on the job of teaching 'hosts-in-training' about the Hospitality industry, seeing as he still successfully ran his famous French Hotel line, not to mention a couple of new Japanese hotels as well.Of course, this has to be done with the help of the program's backbone Haruhi Fujioka and Kyoya Otori. Since Haruhi was an honor roll student, she made sure that the students were spending their time wisely on overseas trips, and not going on vacations by riding on the back of the school's lack of interest. Although I haven't seen her in tutoring for a while now that Hikaru can walk. That toddler can give any person a run for their money! Kyoya has a similar job in making surer that certain budgets aren't blown, which is actually much more helpful than you would think for a school filled with rich kids. Tamaki has the...erm...hobby to get carried away, especially now that he's been groaning about being away from his wife and child because of work.
As the wave of compliments were being thrown, a girl with a bushelful of brown hair and the face of a foreigner walked by. Looking at the direction of the commotion she smiled, her black eyes steadily staring at the 'big' cut on the boy's hand.
"You mean this little thing?" she asked, poking the cut directly with her finger "He got this from tripping up the stairs in my father's house. But I guess you can't blame him, he was trying to sneak out of another kendo session so his clumsiness doubled with the nervousness."
Alright, so I'm a bit clumsy...and I'm not very athletic, but I do help my mother with her stunts from time to time. As for uncle Mori and my forced kendo training...well...not so much.
"Ouch! Akiho, why do you have to be like that?!" Miles caressed the spot, staring up at the female through his hair "And-oh. Where did you just come from?
The girl tightened the red and white belt around her waist, and then placed her arm to her hip and side. "Judo class."
"Isn't it Tuesday?"
She shrugged "Yeah, but I had to have an early session seeing as my teacher is on vacation tomorrow. At least I can have an extra day of training with my kūdō class; they need it."
"Ah, so you're going to run kūdō tomorrow Akiho?" a boy sitting in a chair asked "That's quite a lot of determination you have." The males surrounding him nodded in agreement, looking up at the girl in admiration.
The brunette gave a confident look "It's nothing I can't handle. If you guys want, we'll start an extra soon as Host Club ends. That is, if you're all willing to run laps as well. I have a track meet by Friday I need to prep for."
"No problem!"
"If you lead us, we'll be more than ready!"
Akiho Morinozuka, also known as the Powerful Type, takes no nonsense from anyone in school...including me. For being as young as she is, she has already managed to become the captain of several sports, even going as far as training some of the male teams. Losing is not acceptable for her, and her strong will coupled with her never ending energy makes her a hit with male customers. The ones who don't like her romantically admire her enough to pay to spend more one-on-one time with her, and those who don't have much of a chance. The girl is as intimidating as she looks! I would know; I'm her cousin- and I know from experience that Akiho is the first Morinozuka to not serve the Haninozuka descendant, no matter how much older he is than her. Actually, sometimes I find myself bending to her will more than she does to mine! Aish.
"B-but you just got here!" another voice cried out loudly enough for everyone to turn. Before they had much of a chance to process the scene, however, the boy who had cried out was already latch to the girl's arm and looming over her.
"Bambi" Akiho's eyes blinked as the boy wrapped his arms around her shoulders "I'm not leaving right now, so uhm...don't cry."
The previous Hosts before us knew, just as well as I or anyone else, that Akiho needed someone to soften her sharp edges; oddly enough, that job wasn't up for me to fill, but to Nekozawa's son Taihon, or as we like to call him here, Bambi. Unlike my father, Bambi doesn't have the luxury of being short; in fact, he's the tallest member here! What he does have is a style unique all on its own, and one I could only describe by saying that he's a mix of his father, Kyoya, and my father. Bambi has Umehito's unbelievable persuasive skills; his voice alone can calm an erupting volcano, and when he puts his mind to wanting something, he gets it using his words.Bambi was able to successfully convince the school's head master to let him wear his own black attire without a doctor's note; we still don't know what he said, but we can only imagine. Unlike me-and I'm admitting this to you in confidence-who needs help with a couple of subjects, Bambi is incredibly smart and calculating; nevertheless, he's able to hide it under the number one thing that labels him as the Gothic Loli type, his baby face. With the Nekozawa trademark blue eyes, his curly black hair, and porcelain skin, Bambi was from the get-go an outstanding candidate for a Shota position. Not only that, but he has the cute voice to match.
"As long as you say so Aki-chan" Bambi smiled through his fake tears, holding pinky fingers with the girl and causing a faint blush to appear on her freckled face.
"So cute!" the girls squealed together.
"Bambi, hold hands with me next!"
"Please keep on supporting one another!"
"He made teacher Akiho blush!" the guys cried jealously and in awe.
I've mention Kyoya quite a bit now, but I haven't really gone into much detail have I? Sorry, I get side-tracked easily! Aside from helping us here, Kyoya's business as a doctor really took off once his alias was out the window. Although his father still doesn't approve much of him; he's eased up enough to let him start his own clinic, which is thriving with Tenshi by his side. Sadly enough, Kyoya had been trying to find a method to help with her infertility, which no one had known up until a couple of months ago, but he wasn't able to do so. My parents, however, are showing the married couple a few adoption agencies that are becoming of interest to them-but enough about that. Mother will scorn me for speaking so loosely about adult's personal matters!
"By the way, where is your aunt?" Miles asked in what he thought was a casual tone.
"Why?" the cute male gave way to a mischievous smirk "Are you interested in knowing if she'll come today?"
"Well, she is the manager" Miles exchanged the smile for one of his own, the type that spoke more than whatever he could express. "Plus I'm sure that the girls miss Kirimi. Right princesses?"
"Oh yes, very much so!"
"Mmhmm."
Kirimi became our Host Club's manager when I was a first year; seeing as she's older than we are though, she's always worked in a managerial position. Which is just fine, because she's one of the most well put together people that I know! She may have Nekozawa's dark taste at times, but she's kind, and elegant, and if you hear any rumors floating around about her and I , then it's not true! Uhm...well it depends...what have you heard exactly? Is it good?
"Gah! My staff is so cruel!" Miles pouted and lay his head on a guests shoulder "Princess Nana, do you see how they treat their prince? Terrible; you can't find good help these days."
"We work with you, not for you" another host called from his station.
"Silly fake-prince!" a hostess chipped in.
We haven't heard much from Yoko, and honestly, good riddance! Nor have a heard much from Kazu or Mori, although I heard a rumor about some sea lions and a sky-diving tournament. As for Aiko, last thing I heard she moved to America to start a singing career; I'm not sure about how famous she's become, but I think that living with peace of mind, and chasing after her dreams is more than she could ask for. As for the woman who caused all of this, the one who wreaked havoc and somehow managed to inspire the next generations of Hosts...well she's engaged now. Uncle Pyo as we all call him, sends us mail from Korea three times a month; in his latest adventure he described to us how his proposal to the Dragon Queen was finally accepted. Fifth time's the charm I guess! Oh and he finally for that haircut we've all been suggesting for him, but it's still turquoise.
"Fake prince! W-w-wh-"
"Oh no, he's going for the chandelier" Akiho grimaced.
Just as she finished the sentence, Miles was found miraculously under the third music room's biggest chandelier. His face looking up at the light while he let sparkles of tears fall down his face in exaggerative monologue. Unlike Tamaki, who only went on rants when he was amped, Miles could have gone on equally dramatic monologues of sadness. A task he preferred to do under dramatic lighting; the other hosts still didn't know how he always happened to find just the right lights to set the mood.Bambi's father became a proper Host, not that anyone had any doubts seeing as Renge was the one in charge of training him. I heard with her taking the reins, Nekozawa was whipped into shape, although I'm not sure if that was in the literal or figurative sense. He even managed to get some students for himself, and more power to them if they turn out anything like Umehito!
"...the falling snow, beauty speaks from above!"
Kaoru, who made a steady progress as the years went by with Nekozawa's help, and the support of his fellow hosts, moved from New York and shut down his version of the Host Club. With time he was also able to gain his respect for Tamaki, who became my mentor as promised, and they reestablished their strong friendship. He was rather supportive at their wedding, and was even ecstatic, if not completely emotional, when they decided to name their first child after his older brother. He's a very big support for the program, and teaches shyer kids to become the life of the party, tactfully of course. A lot of the former Hosts that have been mentored by him have become great businessmen, most of them moving overseas to deal with the bustling crowds they were trained to handle.
"And in the words of Shakespeare..." Miles went on to no one in particular, although a group of girls had gathered around to listen and drink tea.
As for my parents, what can I say? Those two have barely aged, let alone matured. My father still drives my mother crazy, and she still drives cars out of building windows to relieve stress. It wasn't easy for her to leave Norway, but with enough persuasion we were able to make an easy transition into Japanese life; my toughest challenge was the language barrier, but I feel I've progressed since I was thirteen. My uncle Mori teaches the students self-control and manners, since no one knows how to better refrain themselves from saying something stupid than he does. A lot of students end up joining his kendo class, due to the respect they have for him; Lucky them, I was forced by Akiho. Don't get me wrong though, my apathy for sports has nothing to do with my uncle, whom I consider to be one of the easiest people to get along with. The relationship with him and my dad is stronger than ever, even my mother is building a friendship with my uncle. As for me...
"That was quite something Miles! I'm sure the drama club won't be the same without you!"
The girls nodded somberly "Not only are we going to miss you here, but there as well. Kabuki night won't be the same without you playing Sun Wukong."
The blonde smiled genuinely now, a twinge of sadness inside of it as he ruffled his long hair. "Don't worry, the year is still early. I still have a lot of kick in me before I graduate that's for sure!" his hand caressed one of the girl's cheek "And I have a lot of love to give" he smirked.
...I became the Host Club's Prince Type, which is the only position that has stayed constant throughout the years, and have been for three school years now. I've had my ups and downs with my team like any other prince before me, but I love them to death. I couldn't possibly explain to you my experience here with a couple of words, for it has exceeded any expectation I've ever had. My mentor is proud of me, my family is happy, and my friends are a part of it. There's nothing more I could've taken out of this adventure.
