Willow, Dawn and Kennedy were having some much needed down time in one of the rec rooms at their new Council base of operations in Scotland. They were just chatting, the television on in the background but muted, when Kennedy started cursing.

"What is it, baby?" Willow asked her girlfriend, turning to follow the dark haired slayer's gaze. Her own green eyes widened when they landed on the tv, and she stared in shock. Right there, in all her technicolor glory, was her estranged friend, Buffy Summers. The Original Slayer – as the demon community called her – moved to Gotham City after they beat back the First. After a few weeks, Willow had decided that Buffy had a right to start over. Willow had read the letter that Buffy left for them before heading to Gotham, and she did not quite recall events unfolding exactly as the blonde slayer had. She did agree with one point that Buffy made, however. Buffy definitely deserved the chance to figure out who she was – outside of being the Slayer and she needed to do it on her own. Willow felt that she also needed time; time to figure out who she was outside of being the Slayer's Witch. Her own identity was something she'd needed to find, and was on her way to cementing who she was. But as she watched the television, she couldn't help a small smile. Her best friend – because they'd work things out; they always did – had just stepped out of a restaurant on the arm of none other than billionaire Bruce Wayne. She looked amazing in a gown of green silk, and it wasn't hard to see why she looked so good. She looked healthy and – best of all – happy. It was amazing what two months away did for her.

"Oh goddess! Do you see...?" she trailed off, not knowing how to phrase her question. It didn't matter. Dawn understood.

"Yeah. She looks happy, doesn't she?" Dawn said, both sad and grateful. The man playing arm candy for her sister better not hurt her, though. If they were still together after they'd all patched things up, he was so gonna get the shovel talk!

"She looks like a rich man's whore," Kennedy muttered, much to the appalled surprise of the other two. It was no secret that Kennedy hated Buffy, but this was beyond the pale. And as they saw that for the first time, they wondered at how much of the other stuff had they overlooked? Willow took her girlfriend to task for disparaging Buffy like that, and she could see that some of it was jealousy on the younger slayer's part. She used to be rich, after all. And her parents still had money, but they didn't give her unlimited control of it like she had available to her before. And though she was rich, Bruce Wayne was far beyond her class and so far out of her league – in money and as a person – that she couldn't even conceive of how he'd met Buffy.

Meanwhile, after giving Kennedy the dirtiest look she could, Dawn left the room and dialed her phone.

"Talk to me!"

"Faith? Can we talk?"
